Hi everyone, I've lost the thread as been away from MN - well trying to nap anytime I get a break as very tired. Made harder as DS is getting more clingy and I go back to work on Tuesday. Bleur.

mini you could ask for a glass but not drink any. Take pretend sips perhaps. Or say you've had a bit much recently so are cutting back? I was never great with excuses - I'd try not to make a big deal and hope noone would notice...!

Minione · 16/10/2010 14:16

Thanks Iggly! I'm crap at excuses, I might say I had a few drinks last night and am feeling a bit rough! They'll probably find that more convincing than just saying I don't fancy it or something!

cep · 16/10/2010 14:17

Hi Loujalou and LoopyloupGarou.

Everyone seems to be getting sick now, am i the only one still symptom free? i was getting funny light periody type aches but apart from that nothing and that's gone , it might be a bit early though i'm only about 5 weeks. not official yet as not seeing dr till monday.

As long as i was eating i didn't feel sick last time so could just be the same thing.

Sounds silly but starting to worry me a little that not realy feeling anything.

yellowtomato · 16/10/2010 15:27

Hi Cep please try not to worry, I am 5 weeks today and only have slightly sore boobs and not much else bar a few twinges. Keep staring at boobs to see if they are bigger but can't really tell. I think some people are at least a couple of weeks ahead of us and everyone is different.

I totally know what you mean though, would find a bit of sickness reassuring.

cameli · 16/10/2010 15:41

Not posted for a while as felt like i was tempting fate which is also why i haven't added my stats but i really need some encouragement.

I am 7w2d and i seem to have constant period type pain in my lower abdo. Does anyone else have this? I have already had a scan at 5 weeks because of spotting for 10 days and 6 weeks where a heartbeat was found.

My boobs are sore,i have no appetite, have completely gone off sweet things which is amazing as i have the sweetest tooth of anyone i know and im tired but strangely waking up early every morning which i never do!I have a bump but i assume it must just be bloating because i am only 7 weeks.(usually a size 10 on the bottom but 12/14 on top because of 34FF boobs)
I have sickness from about midday some days which lasts anytime up to 9pm but today i have no sickness.

Emotional wreck is what i am at the moment and i just cant calm down. My boyfriend is sick of my negativity.

Have already seen the mw on advice from my doctor as i am considered 'highish risk'
Nuchal/dating scan booked for 22 Nov and im petrified.

Sorry for moaning but can't moan at him & daren't tell anyone else yet.

I'm an 'old' bird too - 35 in a few weeks although i was 20 when i had my DS.

I hope those of you who have suffered bad news are ok & being kind to yourself & i wish you much luck in the future.

x

Sarice · 16/10/2010 15:59

Hi, Can I join you.

Im an English girl living abroad and im just about 5 weeks pregnant with our first.

Im a bit of an old bird too and also 35 in a few weeks which scares me stupid! I dont want to be 35, somehow it just isnt possible. Thats......grown up!

Anyway, Im feeling ok ish, my boobs have grown to a ridiculous size, my DH loves it but is on a strict DONT TOUCH warning. Im not feeling sick or anything, just ridiculously tired, which is fine with me as I love to sleep!

Good to be here

Sar x

Clarkiee · 16/10/2010 16:00

cameli moan away on here :-)

cep and yellowtomato I've had very few sypmtons as well. Feel a bit tireder and have sore boobs- thats about it! Had very occasional period type pain and felt a bit sick about half a dozen times.

5 plus weeks till a scan is gonna feel like a very long time to wait!

Clarkiee · 16/10/2010 16:03

Welcome sar

Qutie a few ladies on here saying that they are all old birds but as there are soooo many you can't all be that old, just adverage aged!

Sarice · 16/10/2010 16:06

ha! Thanks clarkiee! Ok Im average! I will keep telling myself and then go into hiding on my birthday!

theQuibbler · 16/10/2010 16:09

Hello everyone,

Ah, this is a worrying time for us all, isn't it?
Sorry to hear you're feeling so tense, cameli, I do understand the feeling - it's just scary isn't it? Everything feels so out of my control, I hate it, but there is nothing to be done.

I'd forgotten about the tiredness - it's draining me. I can barely move from the sofa, which is not fair on my poor DS, but I can hardly stand up at the moment! DH took him to the park for a couple of hours and now he's watching Wall-E - bad mummy Blush
I think DH thinks I might be putting it on a bit Hmm I'm a bit hormonal/emotional at the moment, so I could be too sensitive, or he could be being an arse Angry, I can't tell!

Have you tried the old antibiotics excuse, minione, that's quite useful Smile.

I hope everyone is bearing up and I'm sending good wishes to all those that are having an unsettling time at the moment (and that includes me).

theQuibbler · 16/10/2010 16:11

And waves hello to Sarice.

Sarice · 16/10/2010 16:18

waves back to everyone!

sasamaxx · 16/10/2010 16:51

mineone - I had a dream the other night that I took up smoking again (stopped nearly 6 years ago) and was on 40 a day Shock - very odd!

Welcome sarice

Felt v sick all day today - and exhausted - another one that hasn't left the sofa all day long.
Now I'm starving - think a pizza from the chip shop is in order along with some very salty chips - yum yum Grin

I am really craving salt at the moment, and just food in general - particularly junk food. It's probably an energy thing or something.

misshoohaa · 16/10/2010 17:05

Hi all,

Mineonei just had to do the excuses with dinner last night with some work collegues, I let them pour me one, which I then didn't drink saying that I was getting my period and felt really rough!
Questioning stopped straight away and I felt very smug!

Welcome to all the newbies!

My negativity has really died off as I've got my head around the whole thing now, still finding it a bit hard to believe but time is starting to pass more quickly than that first week we found out where it just dragged!

My mind can actually focus on things other than babies, occasionally anyway!

Although I have started shopping online for baby clothes, just browsing but not long till I break!

Not really too many symptoms here, a little nausea but it never amounts to anything, although I did have a scare in my boss's car when I thought I might hurl! Super tired, and just had glorious sleep and woke up to find my DP had cleaned the house! I love that man.

Curry and XFactor tonight! Enjoy your evenings mummies to be.

sasamaxx · 16/10/2010 17:10

Oh - changed my mind. Spotted 50% off domino's delivery offer so have now ordered 2 large pizzas, potato wedges and mozza sticks.
Can hardly wait!

yellowtomato · 16/10/2010 17:14

I am 37, will be 38 in March!

Cameli so sorry you are feeling so stressed, please come and vent on here at anytime and we'll be here to listen.

It is a difficult and stressful time and made more difficult by keeping everything a secret. That's why I really enjoy talking to everyone on here. Let's all try deep breaths and a cup of herbal tea!

clench234 · 16/10/2010 17:18

mmmmmmmmmmm piiiiiiiiiizza
Dh and the boys have been out all day so I could potter about and get some jobs done, they have requested cheese on toast for tea which i can probably manage ;-) but pizza for later sounds good. Have you got a promo code Sasamaxx?
Hi everyone, especially more new people - yippeee x

sasamaxx · 16/10/2010 17:24

Sure clench - hang on and I'll get it...

sasamaxx · 16/10/2010 17:26

Code is GVFUVLDA.
When I try to order online they always think they don't deliver to me (rural) so I have to phone the shop but they take the code no probs.
Smile

sasamaxx · 16/10/2010 17:27

Oh and you have to buy £30 worth of stuff - and then it costs £15.
Just keep any extra for tomorrow!

CuppaMouldyBatBallsBrothJanice · 16/10/2010 17:34

Quibbler the antibiotics excuse on it's own is still a bit of a giveaway! What you have to do is take an old prescription pill bottle, fill it with Vitamin C or folic acid tablets, and take it with you to whatever function you're going to. Just before you're offered wine, ask for a glass of water so you can have your 'antibiotics'. Murmur something about 'womens problems'. Usually quashes any suspicions!!

Thankfully my zombieness seems to have disappeared. I've had some slight nausea, but that seems to go if I open my mouth really wide and breathe deeply. Makes me look a bit like a fish so I try not to do it in public!!!!!

clench234 · 16/10/2010 17:42

Lovely thanks Sasamaxx Grin

On the subject of drinking i have had a couple of work nights out with customers recently. just started off with a glass and sipped it, didn't draw attention to it and figured everyone else would be too drunk to notice. seems to have worked although i think i am enjoying the benefit of having had 2 with 2 tricky births/pregnancies no-one expects me to have another, ah ha, no-one expects the spanish inquisition etc... have gone a bit stir crazy today in an empty house, can you tell!

GreenAndBlack · 16/10/2010 17:59

Hi, got bfp yesterday and v excited. This will be dc2 but in 18 months I have forgotten everything!

Hope you are all ok today, is anyone showing yet? I am 5 weeks and all trousers hurting like mad. Have been on hols and dh put on 3lb so suspect I have too but have recently lost 16lb and these are same trousers been wearing all the time!!!

sasamaxx · 16/10/2010 18:03

No probs Clench - I have just finished my feast, washed down with Irn Bru and am now having to sit in a reclined position to accommodate all the food I've just eaten - was delicious!Grin

Welcome Greenandblack - oh yes. i can only fit into my proper 'fat' clothes and I have a very large tummy already.

Star82 · 16/10/2010 19:33

Sasamaxx and knackered. Well i think it was a bit pointless.
My last period was mid july and i've had nothing since.
I tested aug which was negative but decided i would give it 3 months before i went to the doctors for further investigations. The positive test was the test i did just before i would have been making an appointment to see the doctors.
We haven't used contraception since June but also hadn't been falling pregnant or having periods which was strange for me.
It appears that i must have caught just before testing positive. They couldn't really see anything on the scan apart from an area which she thought could be the start of the sac and pregnancy. No pole or anything so they are putting me at NOT over 5 weeks but not really sure. I can go back free of charge in a few weeks for another look so it's just a case of sitting tight (and maybe peeing on the odd digital test, just to check!).
It's true what you said though. I thought i must be 5 weeks by now, so i'm now worried that it's just stopped developing or maybe there's nothing there. Nothing i can do apart from be patient though.
Hope everyone's having a nice weekend and welcome to loulajoe and Loopyloupgarou
