Hello to all the newcomers and my heartfelt consolations to those of you who have had bad news.

I have a scan lined up for the end of the month and we certainly won't be telling anyone until we have that reassurance. If all is well, I'll tell my BFF who is 12 weeks pregnant and will be over the moon. Everyone else will have to wait until post the 12 week scan.

Suffering from diarrhoea at the moment (lovely). don't know whether it's a pregnancy symptom or a bug I picked up from my germy toddler - probably the latter. I'm feeling pretty rough, anyway. Bleurgh.

Happy Friday, everyone!

Don't know whats up with me today, am in a foul mood, like the worst ever PMT. Good job DH is not here, I fear the only way I am going to get over it is to have a great big juicy kebab for tea!!and I am craving lager!! (but with resist that)
Humania hi due date buddy! yes it does feel like first time around, except worse as I am far more neurotic now, and have much more time to worry. Also wishing I didn't have the internet as it's making me obsessively look up every tiny twinge/fart/feeling!

sasamaxx · 15/10/2010 17:06

Ohhhhh - kebab.........

yellowtomato · 15/10/2010 17:09

yuk kebab....but if that's what you want, that's what you should have.

I am very hungry and having crackers with hummus and baby bels....yum yum. Oh and some grapes.......picnic time.

Am meant to be working but is difficult to get to the keyboard over this picnic Grin

SaintAva · 15/10/2010 17:16

yellowtomato · 15/10/2010 17:21

IamMrsJones · 15/10/2010 17:47

Hi everyone and welcome to all the newcomers.

Well, I had my scan today and i just don't know what to think really. Have continued spotting not much heavier, but starting to look fresher, IYKWIM. Scan showed that there was still a heartbeat and the baby had grown the correct amount for the time, but the gestational sac had shrunk.

Got to go back next Thursday when her boss is in as the sonographer seemed a bit baffled. Does anyone hav any experience of anything like this? I am kind of thinking it's going to be game over, but desperately hoping that it'll be ok.

I will go and catch up on the last few days posts now.

I hope everyone is ok and will be back later.

xx

petitech · 15/10/2010 17:56

IamMrsJones I am in similar situation, scan on Thurs showed heartbeat but the spotting has started to get heavier so I'm not sure what to think. I phoned the midwife today and she just was very 'on the fence' and said well there are some positives in that the heartbeat was there but obviously it's not good that the 'spotting' is getting heavier. I think it's dark red/brown, definitely not bright red and it's watery. The hard thing is that only I have seen it (obviously!) so I don't know if I'm over worrying or trying to go yes yes that's brown not red. I'm so so worried. Hope everyone else has had a more positive Friday.

mrsbigw · 15/10/2010 17:57

Hello everyone & welcome to the girls that have joined today :)

hope everyone is OK? I have had another better day (re the nausea) where I have managed to eat hot food so am v pleased with that, but keep getting headaches now grrr.

CuppaMouldyBatBallsBrothJanice I am the opposite in that I can't STOP brushing my teeth since getting PG; if my teeth dont feel clean it is making me more sick for some reason ~sigh~ I seem to be gathering more eccentricities by the day. I will be a full blown oddball by June at this rate.

Hope today has been kinder to you Barbie, I still haven't tackled the laundry & now there's school uniforms to add to it. Not that I'm going to let that get in the way of keeping up with the kardashian's and Take a break magazine resting for the sake of my unborn child.

mrsbigw · 15/10/2010 18:03

petitech & Iammrsjones how awful for you both to have to be waiting & watching all the time, I really hope that everything settles down for you both very soon.

TumTumGnu · 15/10/2010 18:04

Hello to the new people [waves]

Hmm.. I can't be of much help IamMrsJones but I just wanted to wish you good luck, I do hope it all turns out to be alright Confused

Poor Barbie! It sounds awful for you. Don't feel silly for crying, it seems a very reasonable reaction. I was nearly in tears the other day just because of having such excessivly painful breasts, now that is really rubbish Blush.

I felt really rubbish, tired and sick this morning and then had miso soup and a huge bit of coffee cake of lunch which cheered me up. I am now soooo hungry all the time and just want to eat everything covered in marmite. I have discovered that peanut butter and marmite is delicious! I've also got to the point where I am seriously going to have to take a jar of marmite with me when I go stay with a friend this weekend as I don't think I could manage a whole weekend without some. really, I didn't think you got cravings this early! Confused

mrsbigw · 15/10/2010 18:20

At least you're having cravings for food with lots of vitamins TumTumGnu I love peanut butter & vegemite usually but I have gone right off everything I usually eat, I seem to get my worst food cravings & go off other foods most in the early days. If your friend who you are staying with doesnt yet know you are pregnant she will soon guess when u start whipping the marmite jar out every 2 mins :o

sasamaxx · 15/10/2010 18:22

petitech and iammrsjones - really feeling for you Sad
Fingers and everything else crossed for you.

LOL @ mrsbigw - it's good to have an excuse though isn't it - and VERY important to rest Grin

Star82 · 15/10/2010 18:23

Evening all! I decided to go with my impatience and have booked a scan (they got me in tomorrow afternoon!!) so should be a bit wiser afterwards. I have zero impatience with these things....i'll end up booking a sexing scan at 16 weeks i'm sure, providing all goes well.

Does anyone know if there is a lower limit to when they can date a fetus? I know there is unlikely to be a heartbeat until 7 weeks but can they still date it before 7 weeks or is it a waste of time going? I've suddenly now started panicing that i might only be 4 weeks and they wont be able to tell me a thing!!!

Clench I see you mentioned these digital tests. I've kept on doing these to try and give me an idea how far along i am. Do you think these are accurate? Have they worked out from your dates?

Iammrsjones Not heard of this before but i'd just take hope from the fact that there was still a good strong heartbeat. Wonder if it could be today with a change in fluid levels. Not sure if that can even happen but the only thing i can think of. Fingers crossed and hope all goes well next Thursday.
*
Petitech* The same applies for you. Hope this is nothing to worry about. I've never had spotting before but imagine it must make you incredibly anxious.

Star82 · 15/10/2010 18:25

Sorry Petitech my highlighting skills clearly leave a lot to be desired. I'm still getting to grips with all this :)

IsabelleSE19 · 15/10/2010 18:29

Hi all, just checking back in after a bit of a break. Have been in Spain visiting father-in-law - my DH completely bottled telling him about the baby as he 'couldn't find the right time to bring it up'. So nobody knew and I had to have glasses of wine on the table that I would pretend to sip from (I did drink one glass properly though!). Also really unsure about all the food - ate a little chorizo and some cured ham. Pretty sure I shouldn't have.

Still no news of the midwife appointment - is this normal? I'm seven weeks pg now. Really sore boobs but no sickness at all.

Had job interview yesterday and will hear next week. Really worried if I don't get it as will have to keep looking and will be even further along when I get work and will have to tell new employer after only a few weeks of work. Feel like I'm committing fraud or something.

Keeping fingers crossed for all those waiting on scans - thinking of you.

yellowtomato · 15/10/2010 18:31

iammrsjones and petitech sorry you are having to suffer this anxiety, I have my fingers and toes crossed for you both.

TumTumGnu I think that cake is the answer to most things!

How exciting that you have a scan tomorrow star hopefully they'll tell you that you are further along than you thought and you'll have reduced your wait. What time is the scan?

yellowtomato · 15/10/2010 18:35

Hi Isabelle last time I didn't get midwife appt until 12 weeks....so i guess it just depends where you are?

I know what you mean regarding work, i feel a compulsion to tell people it will affect and for planning purposes, but at the same time it is such early days yet.

Star82 · 15/10/2010 18:37

Just after midday yellowtomato. I have ALWAYS been put back so not holding my breath on that one!!!

sasamaxx · 15/10/2010 18:46

Isabelle - I would have thought chorizo and cured ham would be fine, but then I'm no expert Smile
