Welcome moomin, mrsspruce, pozzled and 79monica wow what a lot of people we have now! are we all uk?
girlsworld* don't worry...........you can blame your sensitivity on hormones Grin.
Well my boobs are getting less sore and feeling decidedly un pregnant.
I'm 35 so I guess that puts me at the old end of the bus!

moomin156 · 15/10/2010 08:24

Morning all, hope you all slept better than me. Cant get comfy and body temperature control is all over the place.
I agree in pg anything over 35 is probably in the 'older' end of the bus. According to the books the chance of conceiving etc just wouldnt happen and at my age 38 (ancient) well there was no chance LOL. Shows you shouldnt believe everything you read..........
Another late shift today but off to have my hair highlighted this morning.......read that you should wait until 12 weeks on some sites, but i NEED my roots doing :)

DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 15/10/2010 08:38

Morning all, lost the thread, have had a quick catch up.
Welcome to all the new comers!

Brassicababe & Starflower - thinking of you both Sad

Been feeling dreadful last couple of days, so tired, light headed, very nauseous (nearly threw up changing DS's nappy this morning Shock). And been feeling quite weepy as well. Watched Juno last night and felt so weepy especially at the end when there is all the babies in the hospital nursery - makes me so glad giving birth here in the UK where it is much more an accepted practice to keep mum and baby together on the wards.

Poor DS is also getting a bit neglected as mummy is feeling too tired and drained to look after him.

We are going out to visit a friend who is 34 weeks and is on the sick - she was admitted to hospital with high BP, dizzy spells and protein in her urine, hospital have released her but she has been ordered to rest.

yellowtomato · 15/10/2010 08:48

Morning all

Sorry to hear you didn't sleep well moomin I slept very well last night and so am feeling quite chipper today.

Am 4+6 and still don't have any symptoms....keep staring at my boobs in the mirror to see if they are bigger and poking them to see if they are sore....well they will be with all the poking!

I think I just wish I could feel something a bit more definite. Or if I could put it out of my mind for a few weeks but no chance of that! Grin

The advice I was given re exercise was that you can carry on doing what you currently do but don't start anything new. You can exercise to maintain your current level of fitness but don't try to increase it.

How is everyone else today? so lovely that we've got such a big bus!

moomin156 · 15/10/2010 08:53

Morning yellowtomato.......i know what you mean about the symptoms i am 5+6 today and still dont feel pg, not sure what i expect as this is my first but surely i should feel different!
No problems for me on the exercise front.....as i dont do any LOL!

yellowtomato · 15/10/2010 09:05

Exactly, my first too.......well technically second pregnancy but that didn't go beyond about 5 weeks and didn't have symptoms then either so not very reassuring.

Dr seemed to think symptoms don't necessarily mean anything cos they can be strong then go away etc...there is unfortunately no sure way of telling at this stage....I think we have to just try and be patient!

Humania · 15/10/2010 09:53

It is so stressful isn't it? Hopefully in a few weeks time we'll all be feeling a little more relaxed and secure. It's a long wait til that first scan...

broughthimroundtotheidea I'm also just about an old bird at 35 - and we're due date buddies too :) And I see your youngest dc is 9? It must feel like being a first timer again!

knackered76 · 15/10/2010 09:55

Good morning Ladies,

After much lurking I have finally decided to bite the bullet and join! I'm 6+4 today with number 3 but last pregnancy ended in mmc discovered at 10 wk scan (that was after seeing a heartbeat at 8 weeks so a bit of a shock!) in July. I'm having a private scan on tuesday as I'm too impatient to wait and then will probably have another one in another couple of weeks to keep reassuring myself!

Feeling much rougher then the last 3 times and completely exhausted (DS currently amusing himself with Dora while I make reassuring noises that honestly I am paying attention to it!). But those of you who have no symptoms, don't worry I had none with my 2 healthy pregnancies, you just might be those lucky ladies who get nothing (although I appreciate it's reassuring in the first 12 weeks).

Things I have gone off this pregnancy . . . .apparently anything fresh Blush. I am currently living off rice crispies, crisps, basically anything I don't have to cook (hangs head in shame at totally ditching the half healthy diet I had before)

Anyway, enjoy your day ladies and sorry for the long post. Apparently I type as much as I talk! Oh, I just squeeze onto the young uns bus (34) but have to say feels wrong referring to myself as young!

moomin156 · 15/10/2010 10:16

Welcome knackered76......believe me 34 is young. Sorry to hear about mmc in July, fingers and toes crossed for you.

Star82 · 15/10/2010 10:49

Morning!

Just had a quick look around and soooo many posts. I've forgotton half of what i wanted to add by the time i've reached the end. I obviously need more practice with all this forum stuff.

Firstly, thoughts and prayers are with those who have encountered such a sad loss this cycle. It really shows how vulnerable these little beans are. x

Secondly, re buses. I'm 28 so not sure where i'd go. Not Quite as young as barbie but not yet into my 30's. Maybe i can be a middle aged bus :)

No idea on thoughts on the sex yet as didn't have any symtoms (apart from big tummy) the last two times. I have a boy and a girl.

I've just moved to an new area, so had a health check with the doctor yesterday and she's passed on my details to the midwife. With my LMP being July 12th i'm really hoping that they hurry me through for a scan. I don't think i'm that far along though, more like 5 weeks, but it's really irritating me that i actually have no idea. We have a babybond locally so may just go and get scanned there early.

Oooh, it's nearly the weekend. Hope you all have a lovely day and weekend.

BarbieLovesKen · 15/10/2010 11:07

Morning all! - huge welcome, Knackered I am the same with eating rubbish, well carbs really, it seems to stop the sickness or salty things like sausage rolls Shock, I know, I know not very helpful but anything to ease the nausea. That said, I would love things like fresh veg and salads but if Im completely honest, Im way too lazy sick to prepare it. Dh makes gorgeous butternut squash, broccolli and cauliflower soup with curry powder that I might get him to do today though.

Honestly, despite vomiting and/or being nauseas round the clock I am piling on the weight with the rubbish I am managing to keep down Sad going to be size of small bungalow once again. (Im one of the lucky ones who gets mahoosive when pregnant - no, no.. dont mention 2-3 stone gains to me - thats nothing in my book!!!)

Star, was just about to have a huge moan about still not receiving a scan date (even so I could just know and book a private one if needs be) but I think you are way more justified - not knowing how far along you are/ due date must be so so frustrating! I'd hate that! hope you get it soon.

yellowtomato · 15/10/2010 11:39

Hello knackered sorry to hear about mmc must have been a shock. i am also hoping to have more than one early scan to reassure myself. I'm thinking of one just past 6 weeks and one just past 8.......am still only 4+6..am soooo impatient to get further along! It's been exactly a week since I found out but it seems like forever!

Thanks for the 'no symptoms' reassurance but I still feel like I need some proof.

wrt eating rubbish I just say whatever gets you through the day. I'm not feeling ill though so what's my excuse? Grin

SaintAva · 15/10/2010 12:29

Hi,

Can I join you? I'm due with our second on 11/6/11, about 5 and a bit weeks at the moment. I can't wait, but a bit nervous about when I tell work as I was right at the end of my maternity leave when I fell and then had annual leave, back to work for me on Monday. Not planning on saying anything until at least 12 weeks, but we are moving office soon so may have to if they ask me to move any filing cabinets or anything heavy!

My DD will be 17 months old when we have #2! Smile

BarbieLovesKen · 15/10/2010 12:35

Oooh SaintAva your the same as me then!! am just finishing off my annual leave which I accrued during maternity leave. I should be back Monday 2 weeks (1st November) but due to some serious HR issues in work I wont be Hmm am very worried about telling them. Given the way things are going right now, it doesnt look like Ill be back for the whole pregnancy Sad

Anyway, am rambling as usual. DS will be 16 months when number 3 arrives! Are you nervous at all about the gap? there was a 4.5 year gap between my dd and ds - Im either one of two extremes!!!

Oh and welcome btw Smile

7+2 today

yellowtomato · 15/10/2010 12:46

Welcome SaintAva I am impressed with both you and Barbie having another one so soon.

This is my first (and it doesn't seem really real yet) but I am fairly sure it will be a one off event......I don't think I'd cope with more than one. Much respect to all of you on 2nd, 3rd or even more Grin

featherblue · 15/10/2010 12:50

Morning everyone! We have a lovely little group here --- welcome to the newcomers!

yellowtomato I'm still without symptoms as well, even though I'm 6 weeks today. Just hoping I'm one of the lucky ones. Hasn't stopped me worrying though! I do have tender breasts and some serious tiredness going on. Guess all we can do is wait.

SaintAva · 15/10/2010 12:52

BarbieLovesKen I am a bit nervous about the gap. This one was planned but I didn't think it would be so quick - we decided to start trying in September and got my BFP 2 weeks later! Eek! But there are 6 years between me and my brother and I always wanted a smaller gap as although I love my brother we were such different ages growing up we didn't do a great deal together, and I guess that DD won't remember being by herself, whereas I could for a long time!

yellowtomato hopefully we'll cope - it'll hard work I know, I am under no delusions on that matter, but then DD will be a bit older then than she is now.

It should hopefully all work out! Wink

kittyf86 · 15/10/2010 13:08

Hello,

Can I join?! I got a faint positive yesterday and a strong positive today! :) :) that would mean I am due on June 19th with my 1st!

yellowtomato · 15/10/2010 13:30

Oooh welcome kittyf another first timer. We have a lovely mix here of us inexperienced first timers and other ladies who have one or two already who can provided great advice.

And congratulations on your bfp!

You are right featherblue wait and keep our legs fingers crossed!

namechangedfor3months · 15/10/2010 13:56

Hi all! I had a BFP on Monday afternoon and have told two people (aside from DP!). We are in total shock as DC has just turned 1!!! Really nervous for telling work as I only went back in Sept Hmm. We are trying to hold onto our fab news until Dec but I think this is going to be really difficult as I am showing already in the evenings!!
I can't stop testing Blush as in total shock - having cramps quite often..
I am 5+3 and so I just wanted to say 'hi'!

cep · 15/10/2010 13:57

hello all newbies and congrats. i wanted there to only be 2 yrs difference between 1 and 2 but as it took so long it's going to be 3.

Barbie as to the oh i know what that's like. mine's really not fussed, wasn't all that interested in #1 (he's already got one from before so this one will be his #3) wouldn't say he ruined the pregnancy but couldn't be all that excited as he didn't want to hear too much about it, and begrudingly put hand on tummy to feel kick. This time (remember cb only confirmed 2/3 days ago) he's already told #1 that he won't like having a baby around as it'll nock his nose out of joint. i was so angry.

i haven't had any symptoms either apart from weird the odd bleed the other week which i think was implatation, from what i remember from last time i only had really bad trapped wind (sorry) for the first couple of months.

CuppaMouldyBatBallsBrothJanice · 15/10/2010 14:26

Hi everybody! Welcome to all the newcomers and I'm sorry to hear the sad news from a couple of people in our group.

I can't believe there are so many people now! We'll have to get a double decker bus!! Youngsters upstairs I guess! I'll sit on the stairs with knackered76 - I'm 35 now but I was only 34 when I conceived!!

Is anybody else finding it almost impossible to clean their teeth? Especially the inside top teeth - I start retching as soon as I stick the brush up there!

I keep forgetting I'm pregnant too - must be baby brain already!!!

clench234 · 15/10/2010 15:04

Wow. I have been lurking on here for a while and thought I'd nip on to saya proper hello but have been on here ages reading all the posts, so lovely to see so many people. Also really lovely that we have people from all sorts of previous experience (first-times, 1, 2, 3 and more I think!). I had a chemical pregnancy last month with v confusing pg results follwed by abfn the day after I signed up to the May board. This time have invested in the digital ones and have progressed from 1-2 to 3+ so feeling much more +ve!

Really sorry to see some of the sad stories this time and with previous pregnancies. Good luck to those who are pregnant this time after a really tough time and hopefully all these people on here will make these tough first weeks pass quickly. Sounds like some really nasty morning sickness too, hope that improves for everyone.

Sorry but am supposed to be working so haven't got time to try and get everyone's names right but really looking forward to getting to know everyone in the weeks ahead. This is my third antenatal group on Mumsnet, a new name each time for luck! I have found them all really supportive and a great way to release all those pregnancy-obsessed thoughts that you have to keep in when you're keeping it a secret. One thing another group had added on was everyone's location and hospital but I guess that depends how keen anyone is to share personal info, I think there were a couple of meet-ups on mine last time although I didn't make them.

Anyway, will shut up soon! This will be number 3. Had a horrible natural labour first time, wonderful cs last time and so plan on another cs this time. Also had hideous SPD last time, hence my name - am on an intensive programme of pilates and pelvic floor exercises to help stave it off this time. Have just been to GP to get signed up and get my early referral to physio. GP was lovely as I have had a tough time this year with stress and illness and I have decided I won't be going back to work this time (depending on how much worse the tory cuts get!!!!). She said she thought it was a great decision for me and that I would love having 3. She did also explain as I am now 'older' they will be keeping a closer eye on me this time so joining you other old birds on here! Anyway, off to cut and paste the list and add myself.
