Igglybuff · 12/10/2010 19:39

petit I think you can just pick a private ultrasound clinic (check online) and give them a ring!

Clarkiee · 12/10/2010 19:42

Thanks 79monica, seems strange that they do it from your last AF, doesn't it, because you're not even pregnant. But anyway that makes me 6 weeks today- half way to the much anticipated scan- Grin

Gillzz · 12/10/2010 19:53

HI every1 I'M so tired, very bloated sore boobs and so moody and irritable causing fights every other night with DF don't think he'll cope with another 7and a half month of this!!

Barbie i'm 5+5 weeks was at docs 4+1weeks as had to discuss (ad) she told me to come off them so no wonder i'm pretty phsyco just now!!

I've heard no word about scan yet but doc said I will be scanned constant as DS now 4 was seriously ill and they missed it at my scans so they will be over cautious this time!! can't wait for scan as so nervous because of last time think thats why i'm so ratty with mum and df (nerves) also very emotional!

clarkie I concieved about 15th sep while on holiday in egypt! worked out i'm due between 6th and 9th of june and I will be 6 weeks on thur! xx

GoodVibrations · 12/10/2010 20:03

I've booked with Baby Premier (I used them last time too). They are expensive but the nearest ones to where I live and they were good. They are nationwide though:

www.babypremier.co.uk

Be careful though, after promising myself I would only have the necessary scans I ended up having a 4D scan last time!!! Well its a long wait after 20 weeks!!

Clarkiee · 12/10/2010 20:07

I'm so tired too Gillzz. While no one was around today I put a cushion on my desk, lay my head on it and closed my eyes- bliss!!

BarbieLovesKen · 12/10/2010 20:10

Thanks Goodvibrations Smile

Cameli - you ok? am thinking of you. Starflowergirl is right though, very normal for symptoms to come and go. try not worry. I know its easier said than done.

Oh Gillzz, you poor thing. Were you on the meds for long? I think the withdrawel is usually the hardest so (hopefully!!!!) once you get past these few weeks, you'll start feeling a little better. In the meantime though make sure to come on here and moan, scream and shout if the mood takes you - we do understand!!. I stopped when I got my BFP, so am off them approx 3 weeks(ish) now, not as bad as I thought but have terrible anxiety and have noticed the worrying is starting to intensify. Oh well. Plenty to look forward to now and just trying to focus on that!!.

Hows everyone else?

Im in Ireland so its all consultant led care (combined care with consultand and midwifes and then GP).

Hi petitech,
I too am having an early scan for no other reason than to help ease my anxiety. I've no particular reason to worry but one of my friend recently had a missed miscarraige, so literally turned up for her 12 week scan very excited to see her baby for the 1st time and there was no baby..... Her story has really scared me as it was so unexpected , no signs of her MC.
I think if u google private ante-natal baby scans in your area u should be able to find somewhere close by.
The average price seems to be between 50-100, which for me seems worthwhile.
Additionally after my midwife appointment today, I'm really glad I am. As I've opted out of the tests for downs (which usually happens at your 12 week scan) the midwife said that I might not get offered a scan till 20 weeks, unless I pretend that I don't know my dates.
Have a nice night everyone!

GoodVibrations · 12/10/2010 20:22

Gosh misshoohaa 20 weeks is really late!! I wonder if things have changed in my area aswell. Last time I saw the midwife quite early but this time they wouldn't book me in until I'm 9 weeks. I thought this was leaving it late to book a 12 week scan. Hmmmm Hmm

Star82 · 12/10/2010 20:32

Good evening girls! I'm a new joiner if you'll have me?

This is my first post so have no idea how this all works. Not quite sure how to add my details to the list......do i cut and paste? I'm not very techy! :o

Just found out last week and think i'll have a due date of mid June. Bit hard to tell as not had a period since July but i know i'm not that far as tested August and early Sept.

I already have 2 children, one of each. No symptoms thus far, apart from slightly more tired but not expecting any as didn't with the other 2.

misshoohaa · 12/10/2010 20:37

Yeah I was a bit surprised to, but I guess as I
am pretty certain of my dates and also don't want to know if the baby has downs they figure it's a waste of resources. If you opt in for the downs testing then I think you're given one at 12 weeks.

My midwife was really nice though, and could see that I was still keen for a 12 week scan for reassurance so said we'll pretend I need a dating scan!

Shame the NHS doesn't seem to recognise a 12 week scan for reassurance alone is a good enough though? Can you imagine only having one at 20 weeks, I'd be in bits!

LDNlady · 12/10/2010 20:46

Hi everyone,

So, this is my first pregnancy (5wks approx) and I am just a teeny tiny bit freaked out by the whole thing! :o I think I am due around about June 14th going by all the calculators I have looked at. My little one should have "Made In Canada" stamped on it's bum when it arrives as we were on holiday there when it happened.

I was very surprised at how quickly the symptoms started showing. Nausea, sore nipples and generally very tired from about the three and a half week mark. I put the tiredness and sleepiness down to jet lag in the beginning, oh how wrong I was!Wink So anyway, nice to be hear and looking forward to getting to know you all. x

IamMrsJones · 12/10/2010 22:42

Evening.

Hi to all the newcomers.

GoodVibrations - it appears that the bruising comes out as a bleed. I found this out this evening 2 hours after telling MIL the news. (We have a bit of a difficult relationship at the best of times). Guess who insisted on accompanying me to the hospital?
Anyway, the Dr checked my cervix, which all looks fine and closed. She said it's old blood so not to worry too much. I have an appointment for a scan on Friday @ 9:30 to see what's what.

One nicely reassuring thing she did say was that she had just spoken to her registrar about me and the reg said that there had been a study recently carried out that in 90% of pregnancies where the heartbeat is seen during an early scan are successful. So fingers crossed.

79monica - your DH definately delivered his promise there didn't he? Grin

Hope everyone is feeling ok. I'm off to bed after a rather stressful day.

Night all x

sasamaxx · 12/10/2010 22:51

Just checking in quickly - hope everyone is ok this evening.
I've not been feeling very well today - was fine until about 4pm when I started really wilting and getting dizzy and a bit sick.
About to head to bed now so hopefully won't be too bad tomorrow.

I had a terrible craving tonight for a pizza from a very particular pizza place which happens to be about 15 miles away. I actually can't stop thinking about it now...

79monica · 13/10/2010 07:32

Hi Star82 and LDNlady, congratulations!

The emotional side of symptoms have definitely started for me today, I can't stop crying about the miners in Chile being rescued. Normally I don't even cry at the saddest of films.

It's a good job it takes me half an hour to get to work so that I have a chance to compose myself!

broughthimroundtotheidea · 13/10/2010 07:39

Hi everyone hope you are doing ok! Really sorry to the ppl who have had bad news........keep on trying girls, you will get there in the end x x x

Well, guilt trip going on here! I was getting made redundant, but have now accepted a job on another department before I knew I was PG. So i'm now getting loads of in depth training and feel really guilty to the people who are training me that they will think I am wasting their time for maternity money. I am hoping to go back to work, but my being off for 6-12 months will really put a strain on them all. The hours are really ideal, and I just couldn't risk taking the redundancy and not being able to get such a good deal after the birth........babbling now........sorry. Anyway, 4+5 today and the sickness has held off so far Grin just got sore boobs and felt tired yesterday.

featherblue · 13/10/2010 09:36

Hi to all the newcomers! Well surprise surprise, I couldn't get an appt to see my GP tomorrow- so annoying! So I'm just going to ring him to see when I should have my blood taken for my thyroid levels.

Y'all are all making me want an early scan! Still not too many symptoms yet, just slightly sore breasts. The tiredness really hit me yesterday. I went to bed at 9pm and slept till 8am! Feeling a bit more rested now.

So when did everyone's morning sickness hit? Anyone looked at any maternity clothes yet? Obviously don't need them yet at 4+3, but I'm enjoying looking at all the dresses!

sasamaxx · 13/10/2010 10:01

79monica - I've been crying my eyes out watching the miners too - so emotional and amazing Smile

petitech · 13/10/2010 12:44

Ive been spotting bit this morning so arranged speedy gp app, upshot of which is Im waiting for epu appointment. Spottg was very light watery and I have no pain so I'm hoping and kpg fingers xd cv as one of friends said she had similar and was fine.

sasamaxx · 13/10/2010 13:03

Keeping fingers crossed for you petitech - any idea when you will get appt for epu?

janeybooks · 13/10/2010 13:37

Good Vibrations thanks for welcome and kind words. After reading a bit about early scans I did think it sounded a bit unpleasant and as i've had no subsequent bleeding I've decided to keep fingers crossed and wait for 12 weeks. So glad they now do 12 week scans where i live as with dd1 had to wait 20 weeks and don't think I could be that patient this time round!

petitech · 13/10/2010 13:55

Sasamaxx not sure I'm waiting on call this pm. The gp didn't seem overly concerned and rang hospital who said I should be fine to wait for epu so hoping just precautionary.

yellowtomato · 13/10/2010 15:54

petitech fingers crossed you get the call soon and the reassurance that you need.

I have been feeling v tired and grumpy today but am just putting that down to too much work!

Am 4+4 today, time is going so slowly.

I think I am going to have an early scan at about 7 weeks....I don't think I will be able to wait any longer....

Star82 · 13/10/2010 16:23

Thanks 79monica and featherblue. We seem to have a nice little group forming.

Bit random but wondered if it's still normal to have a bit of White discharge? Can't remember if I did with the other two.

moomin156 · 13/10/2010 16:34

Hi All
Hoping to join the group. I am 5+5 with my first pregancy at the tender age of 38!
Only symptoms so far are sore boobs and very tired......well apart from being grumpy and emotional but that could be normal LOL.
Saw the GP on friday and have a midwife appointment on the 22nd. I just feel i need a neon sign to prove i am pregnant as i dont really feel much different. I do have little cramps and pulling pains in my lower abdo....is this normal???

MoogHasNoBrain · 13/10/2010 16:59

Star82 - I have quite a lot of white discharge and have been wondering if normal - probably is if we both have it! i don't remember that the first time either.

Keep us posted Petitech - fingers crossed it will be fine :)

yellowtomato - I am with you on that - I am 4+3 and time is virtually standing still! I can't stop taking pg tests - costing me a fortune!
