Hello everyone! Thanks for asking after me Lucky! For some reason, I'm finding it a chore to do anything right now, including posting on here. I'm behind on everything. Hopefully this will change soon when I start my ML. The 23rd is my last day, and I have a couple of days off and half days between here and there. I can't wait. Everyone's posts about ML are making me very, very jealous!!

Highheels I hope you find out soon that all is well. There isn't anything that will stop you from worrying- just try to treat yourself well while you do it. I also had spotting with this pregnancy. As a matter of fact, most everyone I know has had spotting early on. I'll be checking in for news.

Halo I love the pics! Right now, your bump looks similar to most of my friends who are having girls. Of course, the bump thing is just an old wives tale, and bumps change.

Speaking of changing bumps, my bump is getting bigger and lower. I think I may have actually dropped last weekend. Good news is, as my bump gets bigger, it makes my butt look smaller! Everything else with the pregnancy is good. There is a little nausea returning, but nothing unbearable. I'm also more tired, but generally, the excitement of knowing it's getting closer makes it all good. We're touring Labor and delivery this week, so that'll be fun. I also finally ordered my nursery furniture.

One thing I've noticed regarding maternity clothes, is that things fit very differently at different points. I had some clothes that were very dowdy and unflattering around 20-15 weeks that are excellent now. So if you have something that doesn't quite work now, you may just want to try it again in a couple of weeks.

I just can't believe that it's so close to D-day for both Lucky and Mumnerves! Time has gone by so quickly the last couple of months. We could be reading your birth stories anytime now!

Ok, I'm off to spend a little time appreciating our weather. Your posts about snow just reminded me of how lucky we are in SoCal regarding weather. Of course there are downsides, too...

highheelsandequations · 02/12/2010 10:51

Managed to get an appointment at the EPU for 1.30 today. GP gave DP a lecture on the phone about how he was worried about putting an unborn child at risk by driving on the roads but looks a lot better today and news says the main roads are being cleared regularly. Now I have the appointment I am absolutely petrified. Trying to reassure myself with the facts that my boobs are sorer than ever today and I actually felt sick in the shower this morning. Keep everything crossed for me.

crazybutterflylady · 02/12/2010 11:00

Good luck hh - we are all thinking about you, really hope everything is ok. Let us know what happens xxx

mumnerves · 02/12/2010 11:59

Keeping fingers crossed for you HH and your LO hope you've got some good news for us later today x

aly nice to hear from you, I felt exactly the same the few weeks before ML as work just became harder and harder to cope with, just let us know occasionally how you're getting on. I echo what you said about maternity clothes, I used to prefer under bump clothes but as I got bigger, over the bump definately felt better.

Cherrycobbler great news about the scan, hope you managed to get a seat on the train

Still nothing from me, and still 8 inches of snow outside. DH has given me strict instructions to rest so LO holds out another few days. Not sure if that'll work, but a cuppa and cake is obviously on the cards! :)

highheelsandequations · 02/12/2010 14:12

Just back from EPU, delighted to tell you that our little pip is still doing fine. She's now grown to 17mm and heart is beating away Xmas Grin Such a relief although part of me is now wondering what the next worry will be! Midwife was very helpful, she says measurements put me around 8+2 although because of where it is (very near wall) they might not be entirely accurate. I thought I was 8+3 so seems to be absolutely right. She says it looks like I've a slight separation of my uterine lining (I think, why can I never remember what people say after I walk out of the door) which is common and nothing to worry about. Spotting is my blood, not LOs and she says it's very rare for any complications to arise. Now just hoping I get my booking appt soon so I can have time speaking to someone about all my worries and hopefully stop panicking all the time. Xmas Smile

cherrycobbler · 02/12/2010 14:31

S0 glad highheels Xmas Grin ! Must be a huge relief. I've gone from worry to worry and when I told my mum she basically said that she still worries about me so I think its all part of preparing for parenthood...!

Had a bit of a epic journey in but all fine - will work from home tomorrow if the trains are still up the spout.

Enjoy the cuppa and cake mumsnerves, sounds a perfect way to spend a wintry ML afternoon.

cherrycobbler · 02/12/2010 14:33

ps hello aly! V jealous of your californian weather - I thought I had frozen into an ice cube this morning. Good luck with the final few weeks of work.

MissFlick · 02/12/2010 14:47

HH [hgrin] xxxx

crazybutterflylady · 02/12/2010 14:48

Brilliant news highheels Xmas Grin so chuffed for you!!

mumnerves you have totally made me want cake...mmmmmmmmmmm a visit to M&S on my way home is definitely on the cards... that's if I can get home in this bloody weather!

Got another migraine :( just tried to have a nap in my boss's office but not much success because we can't turn our lights off so was a bit too bright. At least we are close to the weekend!

xx

MissFlick · 02/12/2010 14:48

Whoops I meant a santa grin Xmas Grin! xxx

mumnerves · 02/12/2010 15:02

HH Great news, so pleased for you!! Thanks for keeping us updated, I realised quite early on that this is the start of many many years of worrying about our LO even when they are all grown up Xmas Wink

crazy hope your migraine has cleared up!

How rude of me!....hands round rest of battenburg cake (sorry only 2/3 left Xmas Blush ) and puts the kettle on.

mumnerves · 02/12/2010 15:04

flick sorry to hear ERTD turned up and keeping my fingers crossed for you for next cycle!

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 02/12/2010 15:20

HH So glad that everything is fine, if it makes you feel better I had a few scares throughout my pregnancy and the result is currently asleep in the bouncy chair. I know when you have them it can be all doom and gloom and so super scarey, but this is what MN is for. I would have gone insane without the people on here.

Anyway, I hope you're all well round these parts.

highheelsandequations · 02/12/2010 19:30

Just had 5th snow day confirmed! If I wasn't feeling so exhausted I'd be feeling a bit guilty, now just a little annoyed that I had everything planned till Christmas and now I'm going to have to redo all the planning! Shouldn't complain though Xmas Grin just a pity I can't have any champagne to celebrate!

MrsWajs · 02/12/2010 22:03

Evening ladies Xmas Smile

How are we all??

Highheels I'm so glad everything is ok again - I know it's so difficult to stay positive in the early weeks especially when you're having symptoms but you only have a little while longer til your 12week mark and then you can relax! Try not to get yourself too stressed in the meantime (easier said than done I know!)

Bah humbug to migraine crazy I currently have a cold/throat infection/possible sinusitis :( Which isn't great at the moment combined with all the snow and having to do a lot of walking about in -12 temperatures because my car is snowed in!!

Eeee mumnerves DP was just saying to me the other day, "imagine if you were due to pop in weather like this, you'd totally be panicking" I never even thought about you being due so soon! I hope the snow buggers off soon, do you have much where you are?

We still have 10 million inches and can't do anyhting except trudge through it all to work and back each day, thankfully after tomorrow I am off for a weeks holiday (never been so glad) and this time next week I'll be gloating around MN telling you all weather I'm having a boy or a girl!! Xmas Grin

highheelsandequations · 03/12/2010 14:09

Think I'm going mad here, saw everything was okay yesterday and today I am panicking again. Doesn't help that the spotting is still here and although the midwife said it might go on for a few days or more I just wish it would stop and then I might be able to relax a little bit (who am I kidding Xmas Grin) Dp is getting fed up of me asking if everything is really okay and if the midwife definitely said there's nothing to worry about etc.

crazyb hope you're feeling better after migraine.

MrsW hope you're surviving the treck to and from work, yay for holiday next week Xmas Grin

Hope everyone else is okay and surviving the weather. DP has been out with the coastguard this morning taking people to hospital appointments in the 4x4.

cherrycobbler · 03/12/2010 14:29

Highheels panic is normal and I am completely guilty of it but you have to relax or you'll drive yourself potty. The spotting must be really unsettling but the odds are really on your side! You are still pregnant today - hooray! In hindsight I wished I'd spent my first trimester less terrified (I am not sure I'd go as far as the enjoying given the puking but you know what I mean!). In one of my panics MrCherry said to me that you just don't know whats going to happen and if something sad happens, worrying won't make it less sad, and if everything turns out well I would regret not enjoying it more. Don't want to sound like a lecture but it helped me a bit. Can you treat yourself to some trashy addictive box sets and some yummy food to help calm you down?

MrsW that commute does not sound like fun, esp pregnant! Yay for holiday, and looking forward to hearing the flavour of BabyWajs!

hermya I LOVE the festive name change!! Hope all going well with you and your gorgeous son.

crazy hope migraine has eased off - you poor thing. Weekend tomorrow!

cherrycobbler · 03/12/2010 14:30

can't believe I did a whole post with no festive smileys. So here's a few Xmas Biscuit Xmas Biscuit for your tea hh and a [fbear] to cheer you up!

highheelsandequations · 03/12/2010 14:41

That's very good advice cherry and makes a lot of sense. Will have to start listening to my relaxation CD again Xmas Smile Was meant to do housework today but think I might just curl up with my SATC boxset and a packet of Xmas Biscuit as it's been a while Xmas Grin

cherrycobbler · 03/12/2010 15:17

boxset and biscuits sounds very lovely and MUCH better than housework - am jealous! enjoy Xmas Smile xx

crazybutterflylady · 03/12/2010 16:11

Hi Hi!!

hh I know it's tough but I am totally with cherry... you worrying will not prevent anything happening, really, enjoy this time before the sickness kicks in and its still yours and Mr HH's secret. It's really a lovely time. Enjoy SATC. Hope there are a few choccy biscuits in the barrel Xmas Wink

mrswajs hope the journey to/from work has been ok, you poor love. I thought I was bad just not getting a seat on the train but walking would have upset me a lot!

Migraine all gone today thankfully. Shattered still though. I said this to a friend of mine and she said "I thought that phase had passed now you're in the second stint. You're having a really bad pregnancy to still be that knackered!". Hmmm. Xmas Biscuit

Hey ho... to cheer me up I have persuaded Mr Crazy to take me to a showroom clearance sale tomorrow which is selling my buggy at 1/3 off, very exciting although we have to be there for 10am Xmas Shock. Keep your fingers crossed that we get one please, MIL has made it clear it's far too expensive a buggy so if we can get it cheaper I will be s-muuuug...!

Have a fabulous weekend ladies xxx

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 04/12/2010 10:26

HH How are you feeling today? I hope things are getting better for you.

Cherry How did the buggy hunt go?

MrsW Hows the commute been going?

Mumsnerves How you feeling?

Me and DS are good, just enjoying snuggles and hating the snow. We've also been catching up on some quality TV on 4OD. Has anyone seen the show Coppers, I did laugh my way through the one where they were out in Wakefield centre dealing with the drunks particulary the one where the drunken male was asking for the lady Officers phone number. Xmas Grin

highheelsandequations · 04/12/2010 11:45

Feeling a little less panicked today thanks Hermya. Every day I manage to get through gives me a little more hope, nearly at 9 weeks now and telling myself that the risks are shrinking every day. Still spotting but its still light and definitely brown with no hint of red so hoping that's reason to stay positive! Was also thrilled when I felt sick after eating my breakfast this morning. Snuggles sound like a lovely way to be enjoying (or hiding from) the snow Xmas Grin

crazyb hope you enjoy the showroom clearance and that you've got your buggy cheap!

cherry the SATC afternoon was much needed and enjoyed Xmas Smile

How's everyone else? We're trying to decide whether it's worth walking to the farmers market or if its likely that a lot of the stalls won't have made it. Still haven't decided whether or not to tell my friend this evening, had just about decided that I'd tell her when we had the scare, ahich seems to have put me off sharing the news again... Although I'm beginning to think she'll have to guess when she sees the size of my Biscuit Biscuit which are positively bursting out of my top today!

crazybutterflylady · 04/12/2010 15:29

HH glad to hear you're feeling ok. I got my buggy! Xmas Grin ...so chuffed! I love it!!

I think you might feel relieved to tell your friend. I think the first 12 weeks are actually when you need the suport, because they are the toughest. If (god forbid) anything were to happen you'd need support just as much, so it might be worth telling at least your best friend? I did and it really helped me. Just my opinion of course...

Hope you have a lovely night whatever you decide xx

mumnerves · 05/12/2010 23:03

Hi Ladies,
Hope you all had a good weekend, just to let you all know I've still not pop-ed, very very uncomfortable as can feel LO very low down now and a few uncomfortable braxton hicks but nothing like a show or waters Xmas Hmm

HH hope you're managing to stay positive and enjoyed all your snow days (you're not in that school in Edinburgh are you?)

MrsWajs we had 8 inches here at the peak and there's still snow outside but it's now mostly ice Xmas Sad can't believe you're going for your 2nd scan soon, doesn't seem that long ago you got your BFP!! Have a nice week off!

Hermya Snuggles in a nice warm house sounds devine! You sound so content with LO it's really lovely. Xmas Smile

crazy glad you managed to get your buggy which one was it again?

spent 3 days straight indoors last week bar taking the dog out to the tiny field behind our house. yesterday DH took me out to get some things and for lunch but been at home all day again today....think I'm getting cabin fever!! Daren't venture out as the pavements around here are really icy. There's only so much daytime tv I can watch Xmas Sad
