True, but he's 16 yrs older I think, and regularly chastises her (which she "bears as no other woman would")...but he has got a lovely house and took her to the seaside Grin

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 20/09/2010 22:34

Elsa- fair enough if you enjoy it and it doesn't exhaust you - my old boy and I both waddle along the beach, I can still out walk him though!!

Elsa123 · 20/09/2010 22:47

Bless him- Envy about you getting to the beach! Which beach down there do you go to?

Elsa123 · 20/09/2010 22:52

N'night I hope no one will be up in the night through acid etc!

AbFabT · 20/09/2010 22:53

Aw, H, you are too kind! :) You are lovely too! :) And yes, I was thinking I had such a rough ride with work that has tried to overshadow what is otherwise the best time of my life, it's nice the pregnancy itself has been otherwise smooth. Not counting my chickens of course - still got two-four weeks to go!
And ha, yes - it may be that a smooth pregnancy means a rough labour, and vice versa! Hope not for my sake, but hope so for yours!!! :) Though I must say, I am feeling remarkably calm about the actual birth, feeling really empowered reading my Hypnobirthing book, and from the hippy Yoga classes I am doing, so I am really thinking I'll have an easy birth! Or, my head is in the clouds and I haven't quite realised what is happening!

You still look rather trim and slender to me, btw, so I think you'll snap back into your pre-pregnancy state no worries.

I don't get the Green Parent magazine, no! Where do you get it from? I am not really much of a magazine person - everything is online, or I read a book. But thanks for the info - I'll see if I can find it!

Sophie Sorry you didn't sleep so well.

Elsa Glad you slept better.

Abfab I saw it on fb from one of the nappy companys that I 'like', I have no idea where you get the magazine from sorry.

I slept a lot better, only woke up a few times and managed to get back off though. I'm still in pain with hips and ribs but what can you do.

Elsa123 · 21/09/2010 09:05

oh you know Sophie just panicking that I'm going to re totally responsible for a human being in just a few short weeks Wink....

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 21/09/2010 09:05

Elsa- I'm in Dorset :) dog loves the soft sand!

I was impressed with the lack of middle of the night posts too- sorry it didn't translate into us all actually being asleep lol-ds had us up for 3 hrs, nonidea why, pretty tired now!!

sam12 · 21/09/2010 09:11

Only 4 more days at work. Am starting to struggle now. Ordered carpets for the house yesterday- they are being fitted next tuesday so the race is on to try and get everywhere finished before then. It's been so stressful.
Luckily I've not been sleeping badly sorry for all those who are struggling

nymphadora · 21/09/2010 09:28

Better nights sleep but having a weepy day, cried 3 times already Blush Once cos dd2 was crying, once talking to friend at school and once talking to dds headteacher Blush She is v nice though & knows I'm not normally like that!

Hermya321 · 21/09/2010 09:44

Elsa Just remember, for the first couple of weeks that little human beings demands won't go beyond food, sleep and being changed. Although this is hard enough, at least LO won't be taking you round Toy's R Us just yet wanting the latest 'must have toy'. But yeah the thought that the baby will be outside the womb does send me into a bit of a frozen state of panic.

Sam It's hard isn't it, I think they had the right idea with sending pregnant women to bed for the last several weeks of pregnancy in the olden days.

Nymph Sorry you're feeling weepy.

Elsa123 · 21/09/2010 09:54

Not long know Nymph, just think, you can be weepy from a whole different set of hormones in a few short weeks!

Seashells I know you're in Dorset, I'm perpetually jealous! Which beach to do you frequent? I have a house in Ringwood which we currently rent out and we used to take the dogs to Mudeford and Sandbanks. When we sadly went down to one dog for a while, we took her to Poole harbour when the water was dead shallow and it was warm and we took her way out swimming after a dummy. She loved it and no amount of swimming would knacker her out. She's scared of waves, so the harbour water was perfect. What type of dog do you have?

Hermya yes I know! Still ARGHHH freaky!!

Sam12 aah welcome to carpet fitting heaven. I have to admit I was not a fan of the smell when they were first laid!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 21/09/2010 10:07

Oh fab seashells, a new Jilly Cooper! Will add to my amazon order with the Dexter box sets.

DS2 off sick today. He's got antibiotics for laryngitis. He's been off colour a while so I may keep him with me tomorrow too.

Had my cream micro fibre sofa cleaned today. It was minging and I am Blush. Will have to get some throws to sit on when feeding dd so will not get it dirty again.

Other last minute things? Bought some organic chamomile and aloe Vera liquid soaps to make solution for reusable wipes.

Can't nap today as got ds2 here and ds3 won't nap if big bro is around. Hoping in vain for a decent night's sleep. Snort.

nymph hope your tears dry soon.

BionicEar · 21/09/2010 10:16

Morning ladies!

Am in happy mood today as slept through the night apart from brief jaunt to the loo for the required wee! Grin

My wonderful friend is upstairs in my bedroom putting together our new Ikea wardrobes for us - he is definetely my star of the week! DH is not a DIY person so am very thankful for our wonderful DIY friend, as otherwise wardrobes probably wouldn't stay up! Grin

Took cats to vet yesterday - they do have fleas but not many so it means the stuff we treated them with is working. He said to reapply drops this weekend and blast away around the house with the spray again as we may have missed a small hotspot. So hopefully I will get the little b***s this time round! Fleas v mad hormonal pg woman stands no chance! Grin Vet did say it been a bad year for fleas due to ideal breeding condition linked to the weather we've have had so far this year.

Also got Fat cat jabbed for her nerves as she very stressed at mo due to stuff we've been doing in house, and possibly picking up on me being pg. So hopefully jab will help settle her nerves and stop her from overgrooming as she has bald patches on her tummy and back legs.

Nymph - big hug and hope you feel less weepy as the day goes on.

Sam - enjoy your new carpets. We had one fitted in our bedroom yesterday - smells strong but hey who cares when you have lovely new carpets to coo over?!

And I know more have posted but PG brain is affecting me! So a big hello to you all, hope the aches aren't too bad today, tissues for weepy ones and large sprinkling of sleep duest for those struggling to sleep - hopefully that's covered everything!

BionicEar · 21/09/2010 10:24

Ooh forgot to ask if any of you have received letter in post asking you if you want jab against seasonal/swine flu? Am guessing it's because I'm pg that I've been included in this, but in 2 minds about whether to have it or not. So what do you think?

moonstorm · 21/09/2010 10:32

Last day at work today! Grin Grin Grin Got to spend time sorting laptop and deleting personal stuff.

Had really weird couple of hours last night. Went to bed but really felt I couldn?t breathe ? do you know that feeling when you really want/ need to yawn, but no matter how deeply you breathe you can?t? Well I was like that for ages, kept getting up to walk around/ stretch. I can only lie on my left and just couldn?t get comfortable. In the end I piled up a load of pillows and lay my chest on them so that I was on my front, but there was no pressure on my bump, and my knees tucked under me. I managed to sleep like that for a while, but woke up after my leg had gone to sleep! Slept for the rest of the night, though.

Sorry to hear so many others are suffering, but glad some of us aren?t!!!!

Walking along the beach sounds wonderful Envy

All this talk about books/ dvds is making me think about getting some more, but I?m not in the same league of literature as some of you Grin. I prefer science fiction/ fantasy so need to find something new along those lines Smile

Hope you all have a good day!!

Hermya321 · 21/09/2010 10:37

Bionic Yeah I got that as well, I don't know what to do about it.

moonstorm · 21/09/2010 10:37

Bionic I got the letter as well. I?m in two kinds especially as being so near the end now and the fact that the official line is that the pandemic is over. The thing is, I am very pro-vaccination, and had the normal flu vaccine during my last pregnancy (when they though I was asthmatic, but they don?t think I am anymore, so can?t have it Confused ) so I don?t know whether I am just being swayed by the media etc?. I would rather have no medication in pregnancy at all though, so this is the main thing that is swaying me (ie if I wasn?t pregnant and was offered it, I would get it). Confused

moonstorm · 21/09/2010 10:38

Hey - I like so many cross posts - makes me feel we are all together at the same time Smile

RooBear · 21/09/2010 10:52

Morning all, lucky you moonstorm! I don't finish until the 8th but may have to rethink as i'm getting very tired now.

Tyson86 · 21/09/2010 11:16

Im 37+4 weeks and not received a letter, wouldnt have it anyway, so near the end of the pregnancy i dont see the point tbh :)

piesey · 21/09/2010 11:28

Hi everyone

Roobear I also finish work on the 8th - I can't wait!

Oh I must start planning which DVDs to watch on ML - I have P&P with Colin Firth so might dig that out - I loved it when I was a teenager. Also might rewatch The Princess Bride for the millionth time - and Labyrinth. Something about David Bowie in those trousers does something to me. I also have Spooks on DVD so might reqatch that too - the fact it was on yesterday reminded me. And is Richard A really single?!!

Not had a letter about the flu jab but not usre if I'd bother having it if I do get the letter.

Finding breathing very difficult at the moment - partly due to a blocked up nose but also just no room to expand my lungs.

Also for those with piles (I feel your pain!) a friend receommended these products for after the birth for the sore bits:
Earth Mama Angel Baby bottom balm
and bottom spray. Apparently they are very soothing!
