welcome back fingon! Good to have you back on board. How's it all going.
Oops, just shown that I'm still not working well!

moonstorm · 09/09/2010 15:10

Welcome back Fingon !

Fllozie when ds was born, the scan dates said 35+4, but they had moved me ahead (wasn't possible to have concieved then, so I know I was less than that). It's the same this time, the scan dates have moved me forward by 4 days again, so although I go by this date, I also have in the back of my mind I'm not quite that far on as I know when I ovulated (would have been fair enough if my dates had been moved backwards but not forwards IYSWIM).

Ds has been really hard work today, if I say left he goes right, if I offer water he wants milk, if I offer milk he wants water etc. Will be glsd when dh gets home. The I feel guilty as I want to make the most of the last weks alone with him.

Shieldbug get back to work now! Grin

welcome back fingon

shield I'm doing the same Blush

DillyDora · 09/09/2010 15:56

I couldn't get through a day at work without MN!

FingonTheValiant · 09/09/2010 15:58

Thanks all :)

Things are going well apart from the terror that I'm soon going to have my life turned upside down in spectacular fashion. Unfortunately dh tells me there's no way out now :o I'm also thinking that I may regret complaining that I'm sleep-deprived now, once the wee one shows me what real sleep-deprivation is!

Moonstorm (and all others with children) I take my hat off to you. I can barely look after myself these days (I'm still not dressed today) let alone contemplate how you manage. Maybe you can think about it as making the most of the last few weeks where if dh looks after ds you get a child-free break :o

piesey · 09/09/2010 17:32

Hello all

Finally booked in with the new hosiptal. Had to have all my bloods taken again - do they not trust the other hospital?! Also got a scan booked, consultant appt and another midwife appt all booked in so feeling pleased about that.

Floozie really sorry to hear about your friends and you too SeaShells - My Dad has MS and has had for a long time - he is 70 now and only had bad mobility problems after having a stroke and his recovery was not helped by the MS - he wasn't in a wheelchair and was able to drive. He only uses a wheelchair now outside the home. There is so much support available and I know he and my Mum have found this very good.

I've had a very emotional day - probably becuase I didn't sleep very well, but got really upset as a woman in work wants to do my maternity leave cover and I got really upset at the thought of her taking my job! I know it's silly but there are a couple of other people interested too and I feel a bit like the vultures are circling.

Hi all

Fingon welcome back - if it is any consolation I have been dressed all of an hour and dh had to take the day off work to look after me Blush

Had a terrible day yesterday, had a hospital antenatal appointment at 4.10 ds was organised to go to his best friends house for tea, dd had a dance class 4-5 then was going to her friends house for tea. Got to the hospital at 4... at 5.15 still hadnt been seen, I text both mums to check children ok. ds fine, dd hadnt been collected from dance class SH*T. Rang the mother and realised that we had got our wires crossed. I got very stressed and anxious as dd is 5. Anyway she collected dd from dance in the end and I sat in the hospital waiting room.At 6pm I walked out as I still hadnt been seen and there were still 4 people in front of me, got stuck in traffic, picked dd up at 7.15 when I got to ds friends house his mother was seriously annoyed and ds was playing on computer, no sign of friend. The mother was whispering and whereas normally chatty she got me out of the house as quickly as possible. When I spoke to ds about it he said his friend had gone out leaving him by himself for the last 2 hours!!!!!! I was very Angry and Confused

So I have decided that I am no longer going to go to clinic (the week before last I was there for 3 hours) and I cant keep dumping my children on people. So I thought I would make weekly appointments with my midwife and then go along to my 36 week clinic appointment as I have a scan booked on the same day. Rang up my midwife today and the first appointment I can get is 30th September!!!!! grrr!!

Anyway I am now feeling very anxious and upset and angry. Also I STIll have not had an physio appointment - spoke to the hospital about it and they said I needed a referral from my midwife! hmph!

sorry about the rant!

looby how are you getting on with the GD? All I can eat is porridge and I miss normal food soooo much, although I am looking forward to not having too much weight to lose! :) Glad to hear that you havent had that baby yet, just cook for a couple more weeks!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 09/09/2010 18:37

Lilmiss, moan away, it sounds like a really bad set up and situation. Can you speak to your midwife directly and moan kick butt get a better solution?

Piesey - thanks :) I've only had the one incidence but is good to hear positive stories. I know 2 people who had one offs, but one who got it young and is already severely disabled so its mixed!

Fingon - hello! The answer is cbeebies and tossing a new toy/sing a song whilst lying on the sofa, or lying on the playroom floor building block towers. Not my finest parenting, and it will get worse before it gets better! My whole stat mat pay is going on nursery a couple of mornings a week for ds for his own sanity!!

Hermya321 · 09/09/2010 19:14

Lilmiss My word, three hours. Thats a shocking set up, can you go see your GP at all? My midwife said I had the choice to see her or GP for my appointments.

Is anyone else getting an achey bump? My tummy has been hurting on and off for the past two nights. Last night it was so uncomfy, I really couldn't settle at all. It was like period cramps only low down and my tummy kept tightening. It did ease off and I got some sleep, but it seems to be happening again. Earlier today I walked into town and I got all weird and shaky, I felt like I was going to keel over. I came home, had some lunch and slept for a bit and I feel ok now. Now the top of my bump aches, is this normal? My MIL seems to think its because I'm becoming more whale like.

nymphadora · 09/09/2010 19:38

I get like that hermya if I do 'too much'

Hermya321 · 09/09/2010 19:40

Ah right, looks like Dh was right Nymph. I'll have a sofa day tomorrow then, actually will probably have a sofa weekend.

nymphadora · 09/09/2010 19:41

Why not :) get a good DVD & book and settle in!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 09/09/2010 20:19

Sounds familiar Hermya - the tightnings could be Braxton hicks contractions, which may or may not be painful. I've got achy bump too, prob been over doing it! Nymph is right, DVD and a book ( I currently am on sofa watching fantastic four :) )

nymphadora · 09/09/2010 20:34

We are on Buffy season 7. ANgel next then hopefully Dollhouse season 2 will have arrived (due about same time as baby!)

moonstorm · 09/09/2010 22:16

Hello all!

Was going to ask - does anyone else not feel like their stomach/ lungs are restricted? All the books say I'll only manage to eat very little/ struggle to breath until the baby drops... I can still eat a full dinner and have no problems breathing... and the baby isn't engaged. Not worried particularly, but wondered if I am abnormal!!!

Going to bed soon, I am shattered as I can't sleep, but I have started dreading going to bed as I wake up in so much pain - back/ hips/ pelvis etc. Anyone else?

Hope you all sleep well!!!
x

moonstorm · 09/09/2010 22:17

ps realise that post seemed really moany!!! I am quite happy Smile

Hermya321 · 09/09/2010 22:29

Moonstorm I can't say I'm out of breath all the time, only when I got up the stairs. But my LO seems to like curling up and only likes to spread out and stick his bum in my ribs when I'm in the car. Not moany though, lets face it pregnancy isn't the most pleasent of states to be in. Whinge all you like, I for one will not stop you.

Nymph Oooooo I love Buffy, Spike is well lush! I've been working my way through 'That 70's Show' and I'm going to be getting 'Glee' and 'The Big Bang Theory' in a couple of weeks in anticipation. I've also been re reading Twilight as well even though Bella annoys me. I'm currently watching Mock the Week, I love that show.

floozietoozie · 09/09/2010 22:36

Sam12 that is a perfect description of braxton hicks.

lilmiss you poor thing. Your friend sounds a bit less than sympathetic, she must know what the nhs can be like. Rubbish of the clinic to be so slow too. Hope you get something sorted out. Really feelfor you and was it looby too with gd not being able to eat.

Hermya Grin at short skirt no knickers! Will remeber that and dilly too, thank you for your advice. Have had amuch better day today.

Tomorrow I have my NCT labour and birth class for second timers. Really hoping for some good advice.

floozietoozie · 09/09/2010 22:45

X-posts Moonstorm. I can still eat a healthy amount and I'm breathless only up stairs or if I'm walking fast pushing ds, not if I'm just sat around or taking ir easy. . I'm not engaged either, mw said yesterday which I'm pleased at at this stage but the baby is and has been head down for over a month at all the checks I've been to and I'm carrying low I think.

nymphadora · 09/09/2010 23:35

Moon- can eat loads sometimes & not others.

Hermya- not watched 70s show but love all the others.did you know james marsters is 48 now? He is older than dh which didn't go down well Grin

lilmissmummy · 09/09/2010 23:53

I cant eat much but I can breathe! Confused moonstorm feel free to have a moan! My little one has got into a more comfortable position for the moment (fingers crossed she stays there)

Thank you letting me rant earlier, feel a bit better so thanks again :)

floozie hope tomorrow goes well, we wanted to go to one but there were none available. Oh well!

Hermya can I come round and watch too Wink

floozietoozie · 10/09/2010 00:10

Just got up to have some cereal (sorry lilmiss, probably not what you want to hear) and remembered about Tyson. That must have been a shock. Have you had a placental blood flow scan done, or have they said if they suspect what may be the problem? My nephew had intra-uterine growth retardation (IUGR) although it was detected much earlier, because the blood flow through the placenta was too low so he had to be delivered at 33 wks as he hadn't grown for three weeks. Not trying to scare you by the way, just wondered if they'd mentioned anything like that. If not, I'd be wondering why they wanted lo out early too. Hope you get more sense out of the other consultant. Are you and your dh small? How big was your ds? Good luck.
