Tinwe · 19/09/2010 17:33

Thanks for adding me LolaJP, sympathy about returning to work. I'm dying for a holiday but saving my leave for my honeymoon over Christmas. Does anyone at work know you're pregnant to give you support?

MummyWilliams · 19/09/2010 17:41

MrsChemist how are you? Is there any news?

Tinwe Grin lol at your May the 4th, Star Wars baby, comment tee hee hee!

QwertyQueen · 19/09/2010 18:43

Hi,
Thanks, my estimated date is 26 May according to an on-line calculator.

I am going to be "on antibiotics" when people ask why I am not drinking. That old chestnut!

We went out for dinner to celebrate last night, to this lovely place I have been dying to try, but the food was too rich so I couldn't eat my meal! :(
And lately every time I eat all I can smell, and so taste, is chlorine!

Having a small amount if nausea but not too bad...

For those of you that have other kids, how long are you going to wait until you tell them you are preggers?

LolaJP · 19/09/2010 18:44

Nope - haven't told anyone at work yet, want to wait until after my scan if possible. Not suffering from morning sickness (yet) so hopefully I should be ok! Really hard to not to say anything though - there are already 3 expectant mums in the office Smile

Wobblewatcher · 19/09/2010 18:58

Started bleeding a little while ago. Just like a late period. I did know something was up, oh well. I do seem to fall quite easily so hopefully will happen again soon and stick!!

Going to Smile to cheer myself up!!! Don't want any sad faces!!!!!

Tinwe · 19/09/2010 19:06

Sorry to hear that Wobblewatcher and all respect for the positive approach.

southpacificfish · 19/09/2010 20:01

Absolutely pooped today after working last night in the pub and walking round Leeds Castle today but the DH has been an angel and put DD to bed, got the dinner ready and has popped to the pub for an hour while it cooks. Lovely.

Qwertyqueen Re telling other child about baby; my cheeky little daughter (she'll be 2 at the end of October) is too darn smart for her own good. I haven't told her anything and she has been pointing at my tummy telling me there's a baby in there. Hm. So much for not telling her until the scan, which had originally been my plan.

Wobblewatcher Sad news but good on you for your acceptance and optimism. Good luck with trying again. It only took me 2 months after MC this year so hopefully it won't be much longer for you.

Tinwe Welcome! When I found out I was pregnant with DD, we had talked about having children but hadn't been planning when. I spent my entire pregnancy thinking it was the end of my life and hating having a baby inside me despite wanting to have children and everything turned out just brilliant. So don't feel bad if the whole pregnant thing is messing with your head, just blame it on the hormones and acknowledge each and every feeling. All those unsure and panicky feelings will disappear once you have your baby in your arms.

Sorry Wobblewatcher - are you sure? Good thoughts to you either way x

Re telling people: My kids are desperate for us to have another baby but they are too little to get the concept of waiting that long. So, tbh, we are planning to leave it as late as we can.

Except obviously we would want them to hear it from us. Had planned to keep the news quiet from everyone until second trimester but my body has other ideas. I think I am very early days - week 5 at most. But nausea has started already so I am expecting hyper emesis to kick in again soon. Looking green tends to get people suspicious.

And to my horror, although no weight gain, boobs are mahoosive and already most of my work clothes are too tight on the waist. How does that work?????Shock

Tiggly · 19/09/2010 20:16

Hi can I add myself to the list? This is my first pregnancy and our first month of trying. I am about 7 weeks and therefore due on the 12th May if this one sticks! Been having period type pain all day but no blood as yet, has anyone else had this? I am desperately trying not to stress! Hope you are all well,
Tiggly xx

Purplebuns · 19/09/2010 20:23

Stripebumpsmum I was in my maternity jeans already at your point this pregnancy, a lot of it is water retention and some of it has gone at 8 weeks, but still Confused

Tinwe my DD was born on the 4th May 09 and star wars day is how my (very lovely childless)friend has always remembered her birthday :o

Wobblewatcher so admirable :)

I am a bit apprehensive about telling people this time, I don't think MIL will be thrilled to begin with and there is going to be some heavy nagging wrt moving house and things but we are adults and she can lump it if she says anything Wink

OUCH! have severe acid throat today! hate it, had it with last pregnancy too but not this early! am also a little worried about my hips! i had severe SPD with DD and had to wear a full body stocking from 17 weeks and yesterday i noticed i was in pain waling round town BUT surely 6 weeks is too early for all this isnt it?
Got to tell my boss tomorrow :(

Yorkstar · 19/09/2010 20:51

loobylou your brown discharge sounds exactly similar to what i had, not a lot just a little. I phoned gp who was great and said any abnormal discharge red or brown needs checking and i went to epu on Fri. Everything was fine but i was convinced that i had had a mmc. Def get checked out if worried but mw said it could still have been a little implantation bleed that just took a while to work its way out.

Hello to newbies.

Good luck tomorrow bonkers

sorry to hear your news wobble and all the best for the future

Just wondered if anybody else on here doesn't have sore (.)(.)? Im 8+4 and they have not been sore at all. A little bigger i suppose but not sore. This concerns me slightly as with ds they were so sore that i remember for quite a period of time i had to walk aroung with my hand over my nipples to stop the cold getting to them Blush

MrsChemist · 19/09/2010 20:51

Hello newcomers!

Sorry to hear that wobblewatcher, it's good that you are staying positive Smile

I had my scan today. They still can't see anything inside the sacs, as they are still too small, but they have grown, which is positive. I also asked if they might be ectopic and she said no, they were in the uterus. I had another blood test, and they said they would ring me if anything was up. I've been out all day, but they have my mobile number, so would have rung that I think.

I've another scan on the 1st of October, but that's it for two weeks, unless I get any more pain/bleeding.

I'm tentatively happy, but it is still very early days. Unfortunately, everyone knows (DH told everyone) and they were congratulating me today, and I'm still in the mindset of being more worried than happy, so it was a bit strange (obviously lovely that they were all so happy, but still odd).

Thank you everyone for the good wishes, it was/is most appreciated Smile

Yorkstar · 19/09/2010 20:54

Great news about the growth of sacs Mrschemist and fingers crossed for next scan. So there are two in there? :o

Tinwe · 19/09/2010 21:03

Glad to hear that things are looking more positive MrsChemist... fingers crossed that you are even more reassured on 1st October.

Purplebuns : realising the due date made it even funnier when I remembered that my other half had just bought a one off piece of StarWars memorabelia for himself for his birthday (which he's never done before) which was roughly when the bean was conceived! Strange!

southpacificfish : thanks for the reassurance, can't wait to feel like me again and start enjoying this properly

Purplebuns · 19/09/2010 21:03

Great news MrsChemist but we will all be waiting to hear about your next scan, twins would be magical :)

Yorkstar last time my (.)(.) were absolute agony, this time I have slight nipple tenderness sometimes and slightly bigger, that is it. I am about 8 weeks. WIth my lack of nausea,(which was terrible last time) it is a worry but I know there is something going on as I am really hormonal and knackered!

Bonkerz you will already be producing realxin I think which softens your ligaments so it not unlikely I think for you to feel like that.

OP posts:
zinnia · 19/09/2010 21:17

wobble I'm sorry, but your attitude is brilliant and hope it works out for you next time.

Yorkstar I had identical boob issues to yours last time, and lack of similar agony has been concerning me now. However that 1st trimester was Nov-Jan and was hideously cold, so that might have been part of the prob. Currently tiny bit bigger I think and slightly tender, but nothing like before. Glad it's not just me!

Qwerty like southpacificfish my 2 year old has spontaneously started going on about babies and pointing at my tummy, but that was a week or so ago and she seems to have forgotten about it. She's now fixated with my "boobies". Which is not much fun for me (see above). Anyway, am planning to tell her some time in 2nd trimester, possibly when my stomach gets too big to ignore!

MrsChemist wow for your twins (if I'm reading your post correctly) - good news is that they keep much closer tabs on multiples so you'll be better informed than most of us. Fx for you still.

LostGeek · 19/09/2010 21:45

Hi Tiggly - welcome. Yes I have had period type pains a lot so far (am 9 weeks) but no blood or anything else alarming. This is my first one so I'm not pretending to be informed, but I think period pains are quite normal - just a little disconcerting.

Tiggly · 19/09/2010 21:51

Many thanks for responding LostGeek. Tinwe has been reassuring me that she also has had the similar cramping recently. I still haven't passed any blood or anything so I am hopeful. I agree it is a little disconcerting. Thanks LostGeek.

Wobblewatcher · 19/09/2010 21:52

Thankyou everyone and good luck to you all! Thanks for making me feel welcome.

Had a huge cry but now feeling better and going to have some hypnotherapy when I get pregnant next time as I am v v v anxious!!!

Xx xx xx

Tiggly · 19/09/2010 22:10

So sorry Wobblewatcher, i'm new to this thread but catching up slowly. I'm so sorry. Hope you have a better time when your ready xxx

IheartRPatz · 20/09/2010 07:56

I am still around. Spotting seems to have slowed (darent say stopped, 'cause that seems to be the magic word to make it all start again).
Thinking of talking DH into going for a private scan, the clinic near us is open on saturdays so both of us could go down with minimal issues. According to one pregnancy calculator, I will be 7 weeks on Sunday.

How's everybody else feeling?

Tinwe · 20/09/2010 09:56

Hi IheartRPatz, good news about the spotting slowing. Can't find anything to say if this happened with your first (sorry if I missed it)? If it's not going to do any harm and you can afford it I would definitely go for the scan - it must be horrible feeling so anxious Sad
I'm feeling rough today, have taken my first day off work today with constant nausea and lack of sleep. Feeling guilty though 'cos we're a small team and people keep telling me all these amazing stories of how they survived morning sickness while passing their driving test etc etc!
