Helloooo! Another newcomer here... glad to have found you all.
Found out at the weekend and DH and I are still rather stunned as this has been a happy surprise. Have a DS who has just turned 12 months - am slightly petrified at the small age gap!!

Not many symptoms so far, just feeling sooooo tired and some mild cramping. Had a wonderful first pregnancy and apart from being ridiculously overdue, a fantastic birth. Hypnobirthing is the way to go! Fingers crossed we have the same good fortune this time.

Good luck to us all and very un-mn hugs to anyone worried right now. Have joined myself to the list...

Hello everyone, I'm new to mumsnet and due 3rd May 2011. I have one little girl who will be 2 at the end of October this year and I'm a SAHM. Thing is, I'm feeling so shattered, it's an effort to get through the day. Wasn't this tired last time and was holding down a full time job, a part time job and performing in a play during the first 12 weeks. How on earth can looking after a toddler be more tiring than all that??? I tried to go for a walk this morning and managed about 10 minutes before needing to come home and lie down. Can't face going too far from home in case I'm overcome with fatigue. Anyone else feeling so completely shattered?

LoobyLou33 · 15/09/2010 12:07

stegasaurus, yorkstar and other sufferers of morning sickness...much sympathy! I hope yours clears up quickly. I never knew it could make you feel so rough all day long. HIbernation would be welcome indeed. Get this: by 10am (I'm working earlies so up at 4.30am) I had eaten: 2 ginger bics, bowl cereal, 2 slices melon, pack mini cheddars, pack hula hoops and slice cake - how GROSS is that? Shock

I have to keep eating to keep down nausea and sometimes crisps is all I can face but I'm worried it's so unhealthy - 2 packs a day is just wrong. Have I got twins in there or something?!

My hubbie made a lovely minestrone soup with pasta which is saving me every lunchtime. Can't stomach sandwiches.

running monkey my asthma has also been much worse since getting pg!! I'm planning to ask the doctor at my appointment tomorrow.
Worse is I'm reluctant to take my inhaler as it makes me feel even more dizzy cos it's a steroid! Anyone else experiencing this?

Sorry to go on about MS - hope it doesn't put the newbies off too much, welcome to you all and congratulations!

Loopymumsy - I share your love of appletise right now or apple tango! The sugar really gives me a good burst of energy! Most of the time though, there's nothing I actually fancy eating despite being really hungry and I've gone right off bread.

KnitterInTheNW · 15/09/2010 14:19

I'm not feeling sick yet, and actually was never actually sick while pg with DS although felt queasy sometimes. Chased it away with food! I'm starting to feel more and more ravenous, but can't face eating a huge variety of things. DS and I just stopped in at pizza hut for lunch, I really fancied pizza, and DS never complains as he's just discovered the ice cream factory! If all else fails, something potatoey will normally go down. I have to have carbs regularly, so that's quite handy.

Purplebuns · 15/09/2010 14:25

Hi, even more newbies! What a lovely big group we are getting!

I have eaten today; two slices of toast for breakfast, a full english breakfast at about 11.30 from cafe and a steak pasty about 30 mins ago.
I am ravenous however not really sick although thinking about the motion of an accordian and the name of it made me feel nauseous.. Confused And am sensitive to smells.

On tenterhooks for your news MrsChemist I have everything crossed for you! :)

crazydayz · 15/09/2010 15:30

Hi all,

I ate Monstermunch for breakfast this morning! Yuk! Not something I would normally eat at all but was hungry on the way to work and they seemed to jump out at me!

stegasaurus · 15/09/2010 15:49

LoobyLou33 I am pretty much living off crisps. Sometimes I manage to eat about half a dinner in the evening, but often can only manage crisps at lunchtime. Fruit gums/ pastilles/ other chewy sweets are saving me at work, as I frequently don't have time to eat during a 8hr shift but can just pick sweets out of my pocket and eat them without anyone noticing.

This is a really hard secret to keep. I am cautiously excited and finding it hard not to tell anyone.

Rollercoasteryears · 15/09/2010 16:32

loobylou I'm also eating all day long - it's the only way to stave off the nausea! If it's any consolation, I can probably outgross you... today I have eaten a bowl of shreddies (7.30am), a slice of leftover takeaway pizza (9.30am), another slice of takeaway pizza (12.30pm) and a bowl of pasta (2.30pm). Basically I find I have to eat something substantial every two hours or so of the nausea strikes! The twins thing has crossed my mind too - eeek! At any rate, I'm going to be massive if this keeps up...

southpacificfish · 15/09/2010 16:36

Has anyone else tried peppermint tea? Tastes really good with fresh peppermint and is good for calming the stomach - I just found that ginger didn't do it for me! Just got to plough on through the next 5 weeks and then hopefully the nausea will subside - it did with DD1

started bleeding this afternoon :( brown blood so far but feel achey like period is coming.

Phoned my doctors for advice who saw me this afternoon and i have a scan booked for fri as no appointments tomorrow. Long wait now but scared as had no bleeding with ds.

southpacificfish · 15/09/2010 17:04

Yorkstar That must be awfully worrying for you, I hope you stop bleeding soon. If it's of any help to you, a friend of mine bled for about a week - a bit like having a light period with her first and carried to full term so fingers crossed for you.

Thankyou guys. Doctor told me to rest and put feet up, im so scared of moving in case there is more and yet it won't stop the inevitable will it.

Have been advised to take tomorrow off work in case the bleeding becomes heavy and painful.

Im a firm believer in what's meant to be will be but still scared. Will keep you posted

Purplebuns · 15/09/2010 17:49

Yorkstar you are on my fingerscrossed list now. :(
Do you think it would help if we had a list at the bottom of people to think of? Maybe a stupid idea, but the we give strength to list is sweet I think :)

Yorkstar I'm so sorry you're going through this, hoping very much it isn't what you think and that the scan turns out positive. Don't be afraid to have the day off and take it easy.
I think Purple's idea of the people to think of at the bottom is great.

southpacificfish I've been wiped on a few occasions exactly as you described, and just gave into it instead of soldiering on - on the weekend of course! Must be challenging with a toddler around. Hope you get some energy back soon.

LolaJP welcome, how nice to find out on holiday! It is easier telling people you don't see much (or ever!) isn't it.

Got my doctor's appointment tomorrow - is there anything particular I should ask or expect? Heard it's primarily just to book with the midwife?

Thanks guys I'm finding this group very supportive and a real blessing to be able to share with people going through similar things. Smile
