LoobyLou33 like you this is my first time here and my first pregnancy. I'm due on the 12th May and also feel like I've got the biggest secret ever! We're on holiday at the moment and my husband is so over the moon he keeps telling everyone we meet thinking it doesn't 'count' Smile

tummytickler fingers crossed everything is ok for you

Yorkstar · 13/09/2010 13:19

stegasurus sympathy, im so ill too. Can't even comprehend how im going to make it through the next few weeks. All i want to do is hibernate. Don't remember feeling this yucky last time but then last time i didn't have an energetic 22 month ds! I agree though, it's even worse when people don't know and we have to suffer in silence.

Thinking of you MrsChemist and Loopysmummy for scan tomorrow

Rollercaoster my ds is 2 end of Oct so all being well it will be a 2 1/2 year age gap. Don't know how that fairs, all i can think about at mo is getting rid of this god awful morning sickness.

Just forced a bowl of cereal down for lunch, can't face the though of anything else!

Anyone else feeling ravenous? I've still got tingly boobs, occasional nausea but mainly permanently hungry and struggling to restrain myself. I'm already overweight and half a stone heavier than I was before I had DS and frankly worried about getting the balance right between keeping myself healthy for me and obsessing too much.

Purplebuns · 13/09/2010 16:30

Hi everyone and welcome newbies. My fingers are crossed for Mrschemist and Loopysmummy

LolaJP your husband sounds lovely!

I am feeling very emotional and hormonal and I am sad at the moment as I don't think I can go to my grandad's funeral. My dad is also feeling poorly and I wish I could give him a hug, but I can't :(

I am still worried I am having twins as I am so big for dates! Hopefully, it is just rubbish stomach muscles, as I don't think I could cope with three 2 and under! Mrschemist you will royally have your hands full, this pregnancy all being well. :)

I hope everyone who is feeling sick is ok, I suffered really badly last time so I feel for you all.

kurlyvoice · 13/09/2010 17:20

Hello everyone,

MrsChemist, what a rollercoaster of a weekend! Shock Sorry that you're going through the wringer but am hoping and praying for you that all is well. We're all here for you over the next few weeks and I can't wait to find out whether you're actually having TWINS!

Loopymumsy, sorry that you're having a worrying time but don't worry about taking yourself to the EPU if the bleeding starts up again - they'll WANT to check you out and we all want to know that you're ok.

Welcome to all the newer-than-me-newbies! I managed to survive the in-laws without (I think) them suspecting anything and get through a full day of rehearsals + concert without falling over too. However, I think that it was a bit much for me as I was totally wiped out yesterday, went to bed at 8pm having just about managed some dinner and couldn't get up this morning so am having a pyjama day in the hope that I can do the rest of the week at school. Feeling awful for my little pupils but hoping that my food-poisoning-cover-story will convince my unenlightened colleagues (my boss knows the real reason!). Has anyone else had a day off or am I the world's biggest wimp?

Just over a week until my booking in appointment but have picked up my very exciting "Bounty" pack from the surgery which is FULL of info, including two magazines (which are - annoyingly - a little out of date), giving me plenty of reading material to keep me occupied...

runningmonkey · 13/09/2010 18:39

Evening everyone,

Loopy and MrsChemist I have everything crossed for you two x

Hello to all the newbies and everyone else as well.

Sorry not been around but feeling pants and on top of that have horrendous asthma out of nowhere for the first time in years (GP said v unusual as most people find asthma and allergies improve with pregnancy Hmm). At least I have an inhaler now so am feeling a bit better.

For all those feeling sick I found that twinings lemon and ginger tea really helped the nausea last time. That and ginger nut biscuits of course!

MrsChemist · 13/09/2010 21:23

This is getting silly now. I called the hospital today to book for a scan in two weeks and the nurse told me to come in for more blood tests today.
Got my results back a few hours later and my HCG levels aren't rising as they should. That coupled with the scan not being able to place exactly where the sacs were, means that they are thinking possibly ectopic Sad

I've got to go in for more blood tests on Wednesday.

Sorry for dominating the chat a bit, but I'm struggling to discuss it in person with people. It's easier to write it down.

I hope all is well, but I have a feeling it's not. I'm not getting my hopes up, just in case. Sad

Purplebuns · 13/09/2010 22:07

MrsChemist please feel able to talk to us, it must be so hard, I am sure we are All thinking of you :(

OP posts:
MummyWilliams · 13/09/2010 22:16

Hello everyone!

loopymumsy shall be thinking of you tomorrow. Truly hope its good news. Sending you hugs and strength.

mrschemist how frustrating to be told one thing, then another. Please don't feel like you're dominating the thread at all, that's what we're all here for.

I have an early scan this Thursday at 2.30pm. Midwife is going to come to the house this time round, to do booking in appt & bloods. This date will be confirmed on Friday. My consultant is going to be informed immediately that we're pregnant.

Because of my history we are going to be having scans fortnightly from now on.

Take care everyone.

nevercansaygoodbye · 14/09/2010 08:27

hi everyone
due in early may (dates a bit uncertain, but c.may 5th). Already have ds 5 and dd 20 mo. Having blood tests to check hormone levels as symptoms aren't very strong compared to past pregnancies. Oh and I am pretty nervous as I am 40....

Hello nevercansaygoodbye, congratulations! There are several nervous 35+s here (myself included) so you're very welcome.

MrsChemist, Loopy, let us know how you get on today. Great news that you've got an early scan MummyWilliams, fx for you.

So, I'm just back from the GP (where I bumped into a fellow mum from the nursery who totally guessed why I was there). All quite underwhelming as usual, but it's a GP I like so not put out. She has however given me an 'official' EDD, so updating the stats accordingly. Added you in, nevercansaygoodbye:

VJoy: EDD 28th April 2011
Lolaclare EDD 29 April 2011 (DD4)

As I suspected there is nooo chance of an early scan for me so the anxiety will just have to continue for another 5 or 6 weeks. Sigh. No idea when I'll get my booking appointment either; I do love living in London 99.9% of the time, but getting to see a MW can be a nightmare.

stripeybumpsmum · 14/09/2010 12:49

Hello all. Can I join in?

Early days - EDD 23 May. But maybe June - based on DS1 (4.7) and DD1 (2.10), this one (all being well) will probably turn up at least two weeks later like they did. Seems egg and sperm like to get to know each other in utero for a while before committing to a long term relationship.

Feeling very positive about being pg. But
a) I am a natural worrier so will be much happier when tests done, risk of miscarriage dimishes etc
b) I am over the magic 35 - I'll be 37
c) hyper emesis with both DC. Super-spider sense of smell is here with a vengeance and nausea has already started (week 7 with DS, week 5 with DD).

Still, I am pg and it is sooooo exciting. Bursting to tell people, but not yet.

LolaJP · 14/09/2010 13:19

Thanks Purplebuns - he is a star.
Mrs Chemist and Loopymumsy thinking of you both today. xxx

JuneBugJr · 14/09/2010 13:41

Hello all.

After my af has come and gone, and numerous BFP's later, Ive come to accept that I may be pregnant Grin. Am still in complete shock atm at the speed of it, as due to a complicated EMCS last time, the consultant told us we would have difficulty this time round.

MrsChemist Loopsymuumy - I wish you both the best of luck, I hope it all works out well for you both, it must be worrying.

stripeybumpsmum - My EDD will be 23rd May too.
I had hyperemesis with DD too, and the thing Im most nervous about is it happening again, it was truly awful. Im not sure how I'll cope with DD if it rears its head again. Any tips for managing a toddler and HG would be very well received Smile

Hope everyone is well

IheartRPatz · 14/09/2010 19:53

Please may I tentatively join?
Am still in shock. Am a name changer too btw, so may change my name in future if I am blessed to stay.
Tested today and got a positive, however over the last few days have had the odd bit of bleeding, so still a bit confused.
Have a nearly five year old, bled while pregnant then, though not until later in the pregnant. Confused but, as I say, tentatively joining you all!
Due date apparently 15th May.

Loopymumsy that is so fab!

Anyway I am posting as I have found quite a good site for their calendar bit anyway :)

OP posts:
Bonkerz · 14/09/2010 21:03

Loopy i just want to let you know that in my last pregnancy 4 years ago i had a huge bleed, actually rolled over in bed and the blood gushed out, went into hospital where they found a heamatoma (sp?) which went on to cause another bleed a few weeks on (all this before i was 15 weeks pregnant!) both times very scary (especially because i had 2 mc before) but my baby is now 4!

nevercansaygoodbye · 14/09/2010 21:14

please keep your fingers crossed for me tomorrow - had blood test yesterday (following one last week) to assess whether hcg levels are increasing at a normal rate as my symptoms are nowhere near as strong as previous two pregnancies...results in the morning!

Rollercoasteryears · 14/09/2010 21:23

That's really good news Loopy, fingers crossed for the 28th.

Are others struggling with dizziness and faintness? I had that last time, but seem to have it worse this time. The commute into work is a problem, even if I'm sitting down, which is really quite pitiful.

Keep finding myself being very unreasonable too - realised I was glaring at DH earlier just because he had the audacity to be sitting on the sofa watching football and drinking wine looking like he felt perfectly well - how dare he feel well?! It's outrageous Envy

KnitterInTheNW · 14/09/2010 21:40

I have an appt with the doc a week tomorrow, and one at the hospital the wed after (because of my diabetes), at which they should organise an early scan for me. They did last time.

I'm actually not feeling bad at all, bit tired, but I'm not sleeping very well. I wish I was feeling worse so that I wasn't worrying!

Another age 35-er here, I'll turn 36 a month before this one is due.

Good luck with all tests/scans/results!
