OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Purplebuns · 10/09/2010 11:54

Loopymumsy Thanks for asking :)
My Grandad passed away in the early hours of this morning, I am shattered but relieved as most of us are, as he isn't suffering anymore, my Aunt says that he was smiling once he passed.

My dad has his op yesterday and had to have the angioplasty which was not entirely successful and they may have to do it again in another month with twice the risk factor :(

My dad is hopefully taking us to the funeral which is 400 miles from where I live, in his motorhome, which if the worst happens at least I know I have had this time with him.

On another note, I now have my booking in appointment next week as I am not going to be able to keep the original appointment.

I am not having too many symptoms and no sickness just a love of extra hot mexicana, tiredness and very hormonal!

I hope everyone has a good day to day :)

Purplebuns so sorry for your loss and the bad news about your dad's angioplasty. Sad

Loopymumsy forgot to say, what you said earlier about early pregnancy is so right. it's actually made me feel a little more positive, thank you.

Yorkstar I think it might have stopped. I'm checking regularly, but fingers crossed there will be no more problems. I've decided not to go to the EPU today. I've decided to just take regular pregnancy tests. If there is more bleeding then I might phone them and see what they say.
I've been hungry a lot, and usually feel a bit queasy after eating. Not sure if that's just me over facing myself or not though.

Just eaten a massive rhubarb crumble and have incredibly painful indigestion now. Bleeeeeh.

hope everyone is still doing well, and isn't feeling to crappy about the sickness.

Bonkerz · 10/09/2010 12:34

GREAT so am 4 weeks and a few days....very early....but symptoms are horrid, boobs are so tender the seatbelt hurts, sickness is lasting till about 2pm which considering i work mornings is making it very hard to hide. Have actually come home from work early today because a collegue heard me be sick and i managed to say it was a bug, does anyone have any ideas for hiding????
IM SO TIRED too! how can a thing the size of an orange pip make me feel so bad?

Purplebuns I'm sorry about your loss, although sounds like it's also a blessing for your grandpa. Must be extra emotional what with the pregnancy too?

Yorkstar Yes I am totally off my food. Yet paradoxically I am also eating almost constantly in an effort to stave off nausea. I can't work out if I'm making it worse by nibbling all day or better? Confused I am finding a hot evening meal OK as long as I haven't got to cook it. I hope you get some appetite back soon.

We have an open plan kitchen/dining room. I am now regretting this!!

Thanks goodness it's almost the weekend Smile

tummytickler · 10/09/2010 16:51

Purplebuns - sorry to hear your sad news :( but hope you get to enjoy a road trip with your Dad.
Loopymumsy - sorry to you too :( Hope you are feeling OK and taking it easy today. Try and rest up. Fingers crossed the bleeding eases up adn the scan shows a happy baby on Tuesday.
LoobyLou33 I too eat non stop in an attempt to stop feeling so awful. I have developed a taste for Costa ice tea! my friends are Hmm and me drinking this instead of black coffee, especially in this bad weather!

My housework is really slipping now, I am so tired and feel so sick, I just can't do that much, dh is being very, very unhelpful, as if to prove some kind of point. I went to docs and got some cyclazine, but it does not seem to be working.

cowboylover · 10/09/2010 17:01

Hiya ladies,

Im going to be brave and ask can I join you?

POAS 6 times in 5 days and all positive so went to see the Docs and he said congratulations!

I think I am due on around 14th of May as seen 3 different dates! LOL!

I dont know what to think at the moment, I am scared and thrilled and want to tell someone but know I cant so talking to DH loads and sharing here as much as I can x

MrsChemist · 10/09/2010 18:19

Loopymumsy so sorry to hear about the bleeding. Sad Agree with tummytickler that you should have a rest and take it easy over the weekend.
Hope you're ok

NatalieDi · 10/09/2010 18:52

Hello dear fellow May mums :-)

(knock on the wood three times of course)

May I please join in? Due May 16 (Cowboylover, you and I are almost having twins Grin)

Very happy, wish you all were happy too, all the worries go away, come back another day!

Went to the GP today and wrangled myslef a referral to the Early Pregnancy Unit at UCL for an 8 week scan. On the grounds that i miscarried last time. Now it is another 17 days to go till the scan...... It is so hard to wait, the time till 12 wks looks like an eternity on the calendar.....

Is anybody planning to have an 8 week scan done?

(I have a DearDaughter, 14 yrs old. Miscarried once last year. So this is not the first time. Does it make it easier? Nooooooo)

Bonkerz · 10/09/2010 19:28

Hi Natalie, Ive gone the other way with this pregnancy although i am terrified.
I had dd 4 years ago and been trying since for another and was told a year ago i wasnt ovulating. Being pregnant is a shock to say the least! Before i had DD i had 2 MCs and so DDs pregnancy was full of scans and dopplers and anxiety. This time i dont want to stress (easier said than done) so have decided that i wont go to doctors till im 8 weeks. If we are meant to meet this baby then fantastic but if this baby is meant to be an angel i will accept that too. I reckon im blessed to even be pregnant, however long it lasts!

NatalieDi · 10/09/2010 19:36

Oh, Bonkerz, that is so true! Blessed even to be pregant...

Thank you very much for posting this, you made me pause and smile a secret happy pregnant woman smile :-)

I wish you all the very best and have a very lovely evening!

MummyWilliams · 10/09/2010 20:16

Hi! everyone.

Loopymumsy So sorry to hear your news. I have everything crossed for you, and will be thinking of you on Tuesday.

Purplebuns Sad for you. Big hug.

Bonkerz I never used to ovulate either, I was put on clomid. This was before conceiving first DC. 2nd dose and I conceived DD. They said that ovulation should return to normal. It did I conceived DS naturally. However, I was having horrendous AF because of no ovulation, basically they were every 8 days. This happened and off over a number of years. But in recent years they returned to normal. This is now my 5th pregnancy, last two pregnancies I lost. One at 15 weeks (April 2009) and most recently in April 2010 I lost our little boy at 18 weeks.

Being pregnant is a real blessing, but it also brings such personal tragedy and deep loss.

I hope I haven't upset anyone by writing this. Sorry if I have.

I am a serial knicker checker, symptom checker and complete nervous wreck, but I am praying (even though not religious) that this time round we are going to have our little bundle of JOY at the end.

xxx

cowboylover · 10/09/2010 20:29

NatalieDi I have had that date as well so we will see!

This is my first and DH is extra excited as its not going to effect the rubgy season and im happy that I will get to see all of the world cup! LOL

Silly things I know but it means we are not abmitting to each other how scared we both are.

Pregnancy is a blessing. Some women dont even get this far and for me it helps to think like this.
Im feeling SO queasy and sick already and my boobs feel like they are going to burst....all these are positive signs and im really trying hard to not moan about it. Have now dipped a total of 7 pregnancy tests! wonder how many more it will take before im convinced! the best bit is seeing the line get darker each time i do it! reassuring!

kiwigirlinlondon · 12/09/2010 00:06

Hi everyone, I'm due around 6th May and I am totally ecstatic about it. We've been trying for around 18 months and battling endometriosis and even though I had an op to clear it up, the pain just kept getting worse and worse so it was stressful to say the least. I was booked in for fertility treatment to start this month so I am one happy woman in much less pain than I used to be (all these hormones are knocking the endo for 6 - I keep picturing them doing battle which makes me smile).
I'm absolutely exhausted though so I was relieved to log on and find out that I'm not the only one. I had stupidly hoped that with the endo pain going I could get back into my jogging but so far that is laughable. I tried to walk half an hour today and had to stop as I got all light-headed. I'm hoping that's going to get better!
Everyone's posts are really helpful by the way. As a first-timer I am clueless and can't wait to be able to tell people the good news. Hubby and I are so excited and practically counting down the days til we have a scan where they pick up the heartbeat (one upside of the endometriosis is because of an ovarian cyst and womb scarring from the operation in April, I'm booked in for an early scan - yay). Fingers crossed for everyone

xx

kiwidreamer · 12/09/2010 08:07

I had to pop up and say Hello to a fellow kiwi and mama-to-be, funny enough I'm due May 6th as well kiwigirlinlondon Smile sounds like you've had a rough ride with the endo so I really hope this pregnancy is as boring and uneventful as possible!

I'm starting to feel a bit more pregnant, was 6 weeks yesterday and the achey boobs are now very ouchy and was zombie tired at 9pm last night so fingers crossed they are good signs. Didnt really get any MS last time either so I'm trying to not get worried about lack of that symptom.

Going to call the midwife on Monday, bet that will make it feel a bit more real!

cowboylover · 12/09/2010 13:45

I keep thinking that I cant really be feeling it or is it just my imagination but I have been super tired, balloon feeling boobs and my lower tummy is tender to touch.

I dont think it has settled in yet and I cant believe I am so lucky to be even experiencing this. This is my first pregnancy and keeping myself away at night with a million thoughts so not helping with the tired feeling.

Rollercoasteryears · 12/09/2010 14:14

Hello everyone, just read my way through the last 10 pages and have now taken the liberty of adding my name to the list (which I'm not convinced is up to date, think a few other newbies need to add their details).

Loopymumsy, I've left you on the list as to do anything else seemed presumptuous, but I'm very sorry to read your post.

Also feeling knackered - still in pyjamas at the moment, how scummy am I?! Looking forward to sharing experiences over the next few months.

Oh Loopy I'm so sorry - you've really been through it with this one. Keeping everything crossed for you for tomorrow, really hope head is right this time.

Finally seeing GP tomorrow, still don't feel very pg (how I wish I'd kept a symptom diary last time!) but trying to stay relaxed and get on with things for the time being. I know I won't get an early scan, so just have to soldier on till 12 weeks and hope for the best.

Hatstuff · 13/09/2010 10:19

Hi everyone. Hope its ok if I join too. This will, hopefully, be our first. I sadly miscarried at 7 week back in May, after a year of trying so very pleased and excited it has happened again so quickly but absolutely terrified that this one will go the same way. Fingers crossed...

Great to read all your stories.

Hatstuff EDD 15May 2011 (DC#1)

MrsChemist · 13/09/2010 11:08

Loopymumsy hope everything goes ok for you tomorrow. I'll be thinking about you.

zinnia I was thinking the same thing about a symptom diary, because I'm still feeling ok. I get a bit queasy when I'm hungry, but I'd occasionally get that when I'm not pregnant as well.

After more bleeding on saturday, I went into the EPU, and they did some blood tests and took some swabs. The doctor examined me. She said that my cervix is closed, which is a good sign (I think) and after getting my HCG results back, I was booked in for a scan on sunday.

The sonographer said that it was too early to tell, so either I am six weeks along and they stopped growing at four weeks Sad or I got mixed up, and I'm only four weeks pregnant. With twins.
She couldn't find a source of the bleeding, and when I was seen by the nurse afterwards, she said the HCG levels tied in quite nicely with me being only 4 weeks pregnant with twins.

I'm still concerned though. DH and I were trying to work out how I could have got the dates so wrong. I was unsure of when my last period was, but not two weeks out, that's for sure.

I'm reserving judgement until my next scan in 2 weeks time.

stegasaurus · 13/09/2010 12:31

Well, I am getting fed up now of feeling so ill all the time and not being able to moan about it because no one knows I am pregnant. I feel sick pretty much all the time and nearly passed out yesterday at church. I felt hot and cold and everything went all blurry and I had to go and sit outside for 5 mins. DH said I looked really ill when I got back but I still went to work in the afternoon when I probably shouldn't. I am only 7 weeks so still have weeks of this left. I am trying to remember how lucky I am to be pregnant at all, as TTC took a long time and I did wonder if it would ever happen.

MrsChemist Sorry you are going through such a horrible scary time. Fingers crossed that everything goes ok for you and the babies.
