Here's the new thread for the September 2010 arrivals - though some babies have already come in July and August, and maybe more to come in August before we're done with this month...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mellymooks · 26/08/2010 21:10

She's 2yrs8months now park going on about 14! Some of the stuff she comes out with cracks us up, she's started full on with the why's and wherefores of everything, my two faves of late have been, "what's teamwork?" and "what's a shelter?" are these normal questions for her age?!

Chelle there's a list at the start of the thread you need to copy and paste it and add yourself in in the appropriate spot.

bananastew · 26/08/2010 21:20

melly I'd love to be next! Please can I??!!
I'll have a full blown tantrum if he's not here by my due date!!

Its the "any twinges?" question that bugs me! What do people mean by that? I keep saying "Yes for the last 3 weeks, but I'm still here so they clearly don't mean anything!"

"Haven't you had that baby yet?" Thats the other one!

watersprite · 26/08/2010 21:21

Hi, I've been trying to find this thread for ages. Glad I've found it again :)

Im 35+3 and I'm having a girl, this is my 2nd.

Just wondering if anyone is having similar experiences? started with tightening at 30 wks but they are getting much more constant. Used to get them for about 2hrs a day but they are lasting between 6 and 8 hrs accompanied with bk ache and period type cramps. Been monitored in hospital recently and was told my cervix are now soft.

The past 2 days the period type pains have got worse and now I've started with cramp down both sides of my inner thighs. I often get the feeling like my waters are bulging or that She may just fall out Confused, this may be because she is low down now?.

I'm only getting a few hrs sleep at night due to the tightening and being uncomfortable. Is this normal as my last pregnancy I didn't have half of what's happening now? Thanks x :)

sazziej · 26/08/2010 23:36

Hi everyone..... very quick update...

Baby Evie was born at 4am on Tuesday 24th August, weighing 7lb 8oz... long drawn out delivery, won't go into details now as nearly time for 12 o'clock feed.

We came home last night and I still can't quite believe she is here Smile

Hope everybody is doing well...

MammyG · 26/08/2010 23:43

Its all going on!
Cinnamon - you deserve a medal girl! Im barely able to function these days and boys have me run ragged. Supposed to be back to class on monday for a few days - dont know where Im going to get the energy for that.

Am so sick of commentary. But mostly sick of other women who have a 'we all go thru it, its not so bad, blah, amn't I fabulous , worked until the baby popped out and then ran a marathon attitude'! I am too hormonal for the I was up a ladder painting at 38 weeks crew! Very obviously you didnt have low blood pressure or your time at the top of the ladder(which was a stupid idea in the first place!) would have been very limited! And if its not wonder woman its the martyrs! you know the one, if you had a c section she had a d section! Thank God for you lot keeping me sane!
AS you have probably picked up I have had a day of it! Thats what happens when youlive in a small town and make the mistake of heading to the supermarked looking a little less than peachy. And Im only 36 weeks! Apparently this is too early to be so tired! Even with 2 boys.
Am envious of all of you that are feeling like things are moving and grooving. Neither of my other two dropped or engaged or anything. Im not holding out much hope here tho at the same time am having serious bh which I cant remember if I had before!
Jays - hope you are holding up!
Night all!

LadyRabbit · 27/08/2010 00:12

Congrats sazziej and welcome Evie - I LOVE that name!
We were talking about the full moon a few days ago - does this mean that Evie is a full moon baby?!

Hope you're all doing ok and congrats again. Feel like I've been pregnant forever, so every baby born on the thread reminds me that I am not just fat, but full of baby that will finally, eventually arrive!! Grin

mellymooks · 27/08/2010 08:08

sazzie hooray hooray!! Congrats to you and welcome Evie.

It is so exciting to get news of babies actually arriving, some days it feels like my belly will be this size forever!!

My DD asked eveyday now. "is he born yet?" I wish it was that simple Wink

I can't believe it I have actually woken up and it ISN'T raining....

JodeyLea · 27/08/2010 08:36

Congratulations Sazzie, such exciting news. Hope you and baby Evie are doing well.

Was anyone watching GMTV at around 8:15 this morning? There was a really emotional story on which instantly made me blub out loud. I've never been a 'cryer' but pregnancy has bought out a lifetime of well stocked up tears. Just can't control myself at all and it's defo getting worse as the DD draws closer.

Hope everyone has a good bank holiday.

36 exactly.

parkj83 · 27/08/2010 08:40

Congratulations sazzie :)

melly when DS was that age, he was in a phase of ordering everyone about, from his grandparents (who we lived with at the time), or his uncles to the cat! I can't really remember much of the questioning, but it must have gone on - he's still firing seemingly random stuff at me now, and he's 7! It has mutated slightly into random waffling statements with him quoting us chapter and verse about stuff we vaguely promised him last night/week/month... the kid has a nigh on perfect memory for that kind of thing! Confused :o

Only last night he had DH pinned in the corner with his loose promise of buying DS a video game when he got paid. DS remembered the date when DH got paid (yesterday), I clean forgot, but DS was rabbiting on about it all day, about how Daddy promised to take him to the shop and get a game! He did deserve it though, as he vacuumed the house for me yesterday xxx Wink

Hey mammy hope you're feeling a little better today. What annoys me is when I am definitely feeling, and think I'm looking pretty tired/grotty/icky/in pain/dizzy/swollen (delete as applicable!), people waltz up to me gushing about how healthy and radiant I look Hmm Wish I bloody felt like it!!

skyeplusbump · 27/08/2010 08:45

congratulations sazzie!! and welcome to the world evie! Grin

still grumpy here, it IS raining down south,AND i dont get a bank holiday as dp works 6days a week regardless of bank holidays etc
(thats the punishment of being with a chef!the upside is the cake!Grin)

on the sunnyside,i bought dd some lelli kelly shoes on ebay, and they arrived today.she is over the moon!and the seller sent a lovely card in it,some pepole are just lovely! Grin

hope everyone else is okay!

bananastew · 27/08/2010 08:57

Ah, Sazzie congratulations! I wanted to be next tho! The tantrums getting closer! Love the name too.

Swordfishtrombones · 27/08/2010 09:02

Congratulations sazzie - wonderful news and can't wait to hear your story.

Right then, I'm gearing up for a bank holiday baby. The weather is so rubbish that I might as well be giving birth as far as I can see!

The DDs are getting very impatient. Unfortunately they have both been looking at rather graphic pictures of ladies giving birth in all my pregnnacy books so they are very clear about how babies make their way out. Every time I mention anything about baby coming DD2 shouts 'out of your bum!'. Grin

There is a thread at the moment about what to tell kids but do people seriously tell them babies come out of bellybuttons? I'd be terrified at the thought if I was a kid. They think it's hilarious anyway and keep playing at having babies by shoving teddies and dollies up their tops and then getting on their hands and knees and 'pushing' them out! If only it was that easy.

I thought I had better prepare them just in case they end up being around when the baby is born. I am planning a homebirth and if things kick off in the night then I'd rather not have to wake them up. So in case one came wandering in at a crucial moment it's better to know what's going on. Obviously I don't want them spectating, but my SIL had a 30 minute labour so you never know what to expect.

jodey - I'm crying at anything now. Eastenders, anything on the news, even the naffest sentimental stuff I'd normally scoff at!

cinnamongreyhound · 27/08/2010 09:05

Congratulations sazziej glad you are both home safe and well.

Sorry you had a rubbish day MammyG, other women who have been through it should really remember how bad you can feel at times and be more considerate but are obviously the worst!

The weather is so depressing skyeplusbump, had the lights on for a lot of the day yesterday. It has actually stopped here but it really rained last night, BBC weather says that it should brighten up this afternoon- we are in the south. Nice to hear about nice people on EBay. I bought a grobag egg which had a crack in the screen, rattled and was totally yellow when it arrived. When I looked back more closely at the picture you could see the crack so it obviously didn't happen in the post but she refused to believe it :(. DH could see how disappointed I was so went out and bought a brand new one! It felt a bit extravaggant to me but then this baby will have almost everything second hand from DS so we really haven't spend a lot on him.

Feel like I'm getting a cold this morning, just in time for having the baby, typical!

Dixiebell · 27/08/2010 09:37

It was me that suggested putting the new baby names on the list, so thought I'd make the effort to actually do it...and have added your details, Chelle1986, although didn't know if boy/girl or surprise, so add that and repaste the list if you like.

Congratulations Sazziej, fab news!!!

MammyG · 27/08/2010 10:02

Sazzie -our psts crossed over last night. Delighted for you. And the name is really lovely too. Cant wait to hear all about it when you are up to it. Enjoy the new arrival and relax! hope there are a few people running around for you!

Beautiful morning here. just need a jolt of energy to get out of bed.

Park - that drives me nuts too. When you feel so rotten and people go on about you glowning and being so healthy looking. Mind you half the time if I actually looked like a felt I think small children would run away screaming!

Debs75 · 27/08/2010 10:26

Sazzie congratulations and a lovely name. At last another baby, 10 days is a long time to wait inbetween births. They will be coming thick and fast now ladies.

I didn't get all the 'you must be tired/due to drop' comments this time. In fact some people have been genuinely surprised that I am pushing a newborn around as they didn't think I was pregnant.
I do need to get myself into gear and sort out the rest of the baby stuff and rearrange our room a bit better. I have to remind myself I am not pregnant anymore and she is laid in her basket 2 feet away.

comixminx · 27/08/2010 10:38

Congratulations Sazzie! As everyone else has said, lovely name too.

I've been having such a quiet time at home that I haven't been asked most of those questions recently - apart from by my mum on the phone, of course! Can't get away from that. Yesterday she was asking me how I was eating, sleeping, peeing, feeling...

MammyG, hope you start feeling a bit better in advance of the baby being born - and certainly afterwards at any rate!

DixieBell, good on you for reposting the list - good to have it updated. I think we're still missing RebekahBird from upthread - Rebekah, do you want to add yourself?

Any more news from Jaysfourth?

39 + 6, yikes!

Monstermuncher · 27/08/2010 11:12

Yaaaay Sazzie! Congratulations, my DD is called Evie so I love your choice of name! Just looked at our list and hadn't realised that there were quite a few of us due in August, its lovely to hear about the new arrivals, although it is making me even more impatient for something to start happening here!

Feel rubbish this morning, I just couldn't sleepn last night.

sassy34264 · 27/08/2010 11:51

Congrats to sazzie. Looking forward to reading about your BS.
I went out for the 1st time yesterday since birth of babies (2 weeks today- eek-gone fast) Went to Ikea for some presents for DD for her new bedroom. (it's her birthday on Monday). I still walk a little wierd (apparently) but wasn't as tiring as i thought it would be. I took my time. Had my 1st breast feeding in public experience. But it wasn't as scary as i thought it would be. Ikea provided a secluded breast feeding area. And my mum provided some swedish chocolate and a bottomless coke!!!! Yum Yum.

catbus · 27/08/2010 11:51

Big congrats Sazzie!!! A full moooon baby; well, at least there's one I know of this time!

Nowt to report here other than pissing rain, tetchy kids, tetchy mother (meaning me) and saintly DH who is being a star hoiking DS about; good news is he slept all night so must be getting used to cast.

Bad news is I didn't! I don't even bother mentioning SPD usually, as it goes without saying in all 4 pregnancies: however, this time is definitely the worst for it and my pelvic bones audibly crack together along with my back especially at night, usually involving me screaming loudly a lot. yep, my pelvis I think is nearing the end of it's child bearing time!

Still, don't want to whine too much as this will be my 4th and final baby, so the reality is, I won't feel all those amazing things again, like the rolls and kicks.
Kind of weird really.

Hoping the silence from Jaysfourth is meaning she is up to her eyeballs with new arrival?? Smile

Not long now for a lot of women on here: ooo it's all very exciting! Personally, I am not in the least bit prepared/organised. There are towels in the bathroom, that'll do...Grin

Chelle1986 · 27/08/2010 13:12

Thanks for doing that Dixie.xx

mellymooks · 27/08/2010 13:15

Aw thanks for doing the list dixie sorry I couldn't remember that it was you who suggested it! Will be nice to see what all our little ones end up being called.

PickleSarnie · 27/08/2010 13:56

Hugest congrats Sazie, such a cute name!

Stickhasgrownup · 27/08/2010 15:52

Congratulations Sazzie!

I'm just back from a week away and was expecting to find a load more babies born! Can't believe only baby Evie has joined us!

Not sure if I'm on day 2 of reg. BH or if this is early labour. I'm trying to do as little as possible though as I'm still hoping for a September baby (5 days to go) Grin

I'm with you others on the painful hips in bed... keep having to get up in the morning because it hurts too much!
