Here's the new thread for the September 2010 arrivals - though some babies have already come in July and August, and maybe more to come in August before we're done with this month...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mellymooks · 26/08/2010 10:06

debs yes nature baby are the eco ones, I would def give them a go if you need a slim fit and it's a bonus that they're eco amd don't have lots of chemicals in them, my LO has eczema so have been brill for her skin and it salves my concious a bit using them even though I bought reusables but never used them Blush

I too had very full on BH/contractions last night and thought it might be all starting but has stopped again, must have just been practising.

37 wks today!!

catbus · 26/08/2010 12:20

Just checking in: wondering/hoping it's going ok for Jaysfourth?? And all those very close..

DH has had to take time off work to help with DS: lifting him with the bloody cast on is impossible: we have now had 2 nights of him going ballistic being so uncomfortable with it: crossing my legs!

Then thinking that maybe it would be easier if I did pop: at least then I could pick him up sooner! Labour will be fun with DH running between us both! Even if I do go nearer due date, he will have just had cast off, so even more dodgy really.

That coupled with CRAP weather (mind you rather this than hot and sticky) and 2 DDs at each others throats on and off, I would be surprised if I last the duration! Grin

38 weeks today and umming and arring on whether this bowling ball between legs feeling is significant in any way, anymore!

Cluds · 26/08/2010 13:15

Hi Everyone, sorry for my moaning post of yesterday (and i really didn't mean to post it twice!!).
catbus i really feel for you with DS and his cast and his sleepless nights. Hope it starts to get a bit easier for you. Glad your other half is off work - how long for?
The weather is a shocker isn't it? We have a window of no rain at the moment so i have just kicked the boys outside and the dog and told them not to come back in for half an hour!
swordfish you aren't the only mum using "screen time" to get some peace! My two are a bit older (10 and 7) and so their "screen time" is more likely to be the computer, DS or Ipod......it isn't good i know, but there are just some times when you've just got to let it go!!
Good luck everyone.

cinnamongreyhound · 26/08/2010 13:47

Was thinking of soft play tomorrow but if it's raining it will be rammed and I will be run ragged chasing after/keeping an eye on a 20month old, almost 3 year old and 3 and a bit year old so perhaps not. Makes you realise how wonderful the park and some dry weather is!

Went to toddler group this morning and the older 3 were really good (it's in leisure centre so I let them play basket ball at the far end of the hall) and the little 3 were happy to play so it was quite nice, got absolutely soaked on the way there and back though :(

Really don't envy you catbus it is a dilema as to when would be best to have your baby.

bellabelly · 26/08/2010 14:29

PickleSarnie, it's a deal! So far today have 1) looked at empty hospital bag 2) gone back to bed for four hours! I'd say I'm making great progress!

Anyone got plans for the bank holiday weekend? I feel like I should be doing something fun with the boys and DH but just not sure I have the energy to go out anywhere!

bananastew · 26/08/2010 16:25

Hi all! Had a bad day yesterday. had really strong contractions/braxton hicks all night & most of the morning! rang the assessment centre & they had me in to be checked out! I'm 1-2cm dialated but that doesn't mean much. could still be a week or so! I've bought a ball to bounce on but am having to wait till Ds is out of the way cos he thinks its his new toy & loves playing on it! Pretty good for his balance tho! and gives him something else to do other than watch fireman sam!

Catbus Hope you're coping ok! I can't imagine how difficult it is to keep a 2 year old still!

Jaysfourth hang in there, not long now!

All this waiting is driving me mad! MIL keeps pestering me! She'd like me to have had him by next week! Well, he's not actually due till Thurs so give me chance!

bananastew · 26/08/2010 16:25

Oh, 39 weeks! I've never been this pregnant! Ds wa 9 days early!

cinnamongreyhound · 26/08/2010 17:01

How can we have been pregnant for the whole of 2010 and it feel like its flown by? Don't know if anyone else is feeling like this, feel like I've been pregnant for ever but that this year has disappeared!

Congrats on making it this far bananastew or should I say comiserations!?!?

We are planning to go to the beach on Saturday if the weather improves as it should bellabelly, but it's taken some stress to organise as I mentioned earlier in the week! I feel the same that we should be doing things for DS and DSS and making the most of the freedom we have without a newborn to worry about!

parkj83 · 26/08/2010 17:09

Sigh having a bit of a grump day today. My SPD kicked off big time last night, I had to resort to paracetamol to get through the night. I did sleep like a log though once I found a comfortable position!

And now my Dad's phoned me asking if we can look after his dog this BH weekend as they're in Germany... My DSis was supposed have him, but she's backed out at the last minute stating she has to work... (her H has sticky-sofa syndrome, who 'looks' after their 2 kids by handing them off to his mum and grandmother where possible, while DSis scrapes money together working all the hours McDonalds will give her, along with doing Avon rounds in no less than a 6 mile/30 street radius, on foot Hmm) Basically, he doesn't want the dog there, never mind that Toby's decrepit and sleeps all day. Angry So guess who has to step in to help out.

I honestly don't mind normally, but then again, when I normally have him, I'm not 8.5 months pg, and he doesn't normally have an incontinence issue whereby if he can't get outside within 5 seconds, he sh*ts himself. Also, he has an issue with his hip meaning that he can't get up stairs easily. This also causes a problem here, as I live in a coach house. I normally carry him upstairs, but for obvious reasons, I can't right now!

My Dad asked if we could just pop over and let him out twice a day, along with feeding, but ffs, the dog's 15, and it's not fair on him! So DH has offered that we stay at my Dad's for the weekend - not how I planned on spending my bank holiday. :( Plus, their shower is broke - I just got mine/my boiler fixed!!!

Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And breathe, and smile :o :o :o :o (does it look plasticky yet?!) Sorry for the rant guys - I realise all I seem to do is whinge recently - honestly, I don't mean to! :(

At least they do have a very big garden which means DS won't be stuck in front of the tv which he has for the past week - you're not alone with that guilt trip cluds and swordfish!

banana, I have the same problem with the birthing ball, except I have to kick DH off it too - he uses it as a footstool!! Hmm I do have a smaller gym ball which was inflated, and kept DS entertained while I bounced, but DH kept tripping over both balls, and deflated t'other one... I think he's regretting it now though!!

parkj83 · 26/08/2010 17:17

Hey cinnamon that is a horribly familiar feeling! This year has slipped by so very quickly!

Although, I only recently feel like I've been pg forever. Mostly because people I see every now and again (like at church) keep asking me the same stupid questions! My answers aren't going to change, so stop asking me!!

mellymooks · 26/08/2010 17:47

Oh I know what you mean, if one more person says "not long now" I think I may deck them Grin

Also - "do I know what it is?"
"will this be my last baby?"
"was it planned?"
"do we have a name?"
"have we prepared DD?"
"and you thought one baby was hard...."
on and on and on don't cha just love it?!

My DP also uses the ball as a footstool honestly the cheek Wink

whammie76 · 26/08/2010 17:55

Hi, How's everyone doing?

Can't believe I've missed so much! I was getting stuck into housework last week and generally knackered.

Got my hospital change, and was given an appt for yesterday, so off we went, me in my work clothes as was planning to go straight into work - and they decided to keep me in overnight for obs as BP was higher than they liked. I had absolutely nothing with me, so they agreed I could go home to pack a bag & return later. I was so fed up, but I know they were only being cautious. Just can't belive my bp was so normal up untl now and then it has to go sky high. Although had a growth scan and baby appears to be on the small side, but dr not too concerned as still within the range for no. of wks I am.

Never mind home now and going into work tmrw as I know I can take it easy there and do light duties - computer, answer phone etc - and I've only got just over a week left. yhay! Smile

whammie76 · 26/08/2010 18:00

mellymooks - I get all those questions too, drives me mad. lol

Swordfishtrombones · 26/08/2010 18:19

Oh yes mellymooks - I'm getting so many of those questions arghhhh! And my MIL keeps phoning every morning to 'chat' which basically means she wants to check up on me. It's driving me mad. It's not like she won't be the first to know as soon as things kick off.

Oh my God cinnamon! I can't believe we can say we've been pregnant all year Grin I'd not thought of it like that, but what a great moan that will be when DH gets in later (poor DH).

banana - 1-2cm sounds promising. I can't believe my pelvic floor is holding up so well third time round to be honest. I thought this baby would be falling out by this stage. I'm not having the heavy 'coconut between your legs' feeling yet so I might be some time.

Come on someone! Inspire the rest of these babies to come out soon!

Chelle1986 · 26/08/2010 18:39

parkj83 · 26/08/2010 19:09

melly The most annoying person I get those comments from is actually my DSis!!

I did actually verbally deck her one week, as I got so fed up with the stupid random texts

How are things? - fine
Baby still kicking? - Er yes, same as yesterday/day before/3 days ago when you asked...
Still feeling sick? - no, haven't felt sick since 21 weeks. You've asked me this before, I'm now 36 weeks, why are you still asking me??
What does DS think? - the same as the last time you asked him (yesterday/last week etc)!
What do the dogs make of it? - the same as the last time you asked me (yesterday/last week etc)!

She's been through 2 pgs herself, so come on, she knows what I'm going through, silly mare!

Welcome chelle :) Hope you're feeling well!

I'm at the 'feeling swollen between my legs, and shuffling everywhere' stage at the moment. And I'm getting sharp needle-y stabbing pains in the area of my cervix - I honestly would not be surprised to look down and see a little hand sticking out and waving! :o Hmm

arrrggghhh away skye :o I hope you're not uncomfy for too much longer x

36+5

skyeplusbump · 26/08/2010 19:14

oh,my favorite comment is
"hows bump?!" -makes me want to scream!! Angry

i get that stabbing pain too,tis odd!

PickleSarnie · 26/08/2010 19:31

Hi Chelle1986 - we're due the same day. Race you to it!!! Last one there's a hairy kipper. Smile

Chelle1986 · 26/08/2010 19:44

Lol...am trying to hang on in there pickle! I do just want him to be here now though to be honest!

Although we're not really sure whether my due date is accurate or not to be honest - as we only found out I was pregnant at 23 weeks.... Blush I really had no idea....! No symptoms or anything, and I've been blessed with an easy pregnancy since we have known.

Am at that stabbing pain in the cervix point too. The midwife confirmed this morning that DS is right on the brim of being engaged, so that would explain the stabbing pains! I fully expect to see a hand poking out every time I have a wee!!

(36+3 with first)

mellymooks · 26/08/2010 20:00

skye I hate that expression too!!! When will people learn eh?

Welcome chelle you need to add yourself to the list!

Also can't remember who suggested it - but think it's a lovely idea, to put the names of the babies born on the list as we go along.

I wonder who will be next think maybe you banana ?

My DD has got her back molars cutting through and is so snotty poor honey, she woke up in the night obviously in a lot of pain from the teeth and just kept saying in such an anguished little voice "make it go away Mummy, make it go away" Sad oh it breaks your heart I so wish I could, bless her.

parkj83 · 26/08/2010 20:29

Oh bless melly How old is she? DS hasn't grumbled too much about his teeth, although he's lost a few front ones, and one is taking its sweet time about growing back... I'm quietly concerned he may have problems with that one when it does decide to crown Confused

Yup, I get that one too skye, again, guess who from!

parkj83 · 26/08/2010 20:31

The other common one I get is "bet you can't wait to have it"

Hmm

I can and I can't thank you very much!

Chelle1986 · 26/08/2010 20:41

Can someone please tell me how I add myself to the list?

Thanks.x

cinnamongreyhound · 26/08/2010 20:44

I have the same problem with DS jumping on my ball and DH using it as a footstall!!

I can't believe people ask if your baby was planned, how rude!!I get the not long now, and do you know what you're having and when are you due comments though.

Actually felt today that I would like to be huge and get some sympathy! People can tell I'm pregnant but no-one gives me the oh my god you are about to drop look and was actually told in Tesco today that I look like I have a couple of months to go. No I have 5 days to go, have been looking after 6 children since 8am and now when they've gone home at 5 I have come out to tesco to do a weeks shopping with my own 2 and still have to get home put this lot away and feed us all! Just feeling I'd like a bit of sympathy from random strangers that others who are less pregnant than me get, completely unreasonable I know!
