Here's the new thread for the September 2010 arrivals - though some babies have already come in July and August, and maybe more to come in August before we're done with this month...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Debs75 · 24/09/2010 14:56

Park you really are having a bad time of it aren't you. Take a deep breath and calm down. Little Fidget will make an appearance, it might not be by Tuesday but then again it could be by bedtime tonight. I would of loved to have to wait it out with Lucy but in the end you don't mind the waiting when they are there in your arms. You're nearly a week over so hang on in there.

Monstermuncher Know how you feel my boobs are now an E cup, am usually a C to D, about a DD when feeding. Don't panic after a couple of months I have found mine have settled down to a more reasonable size.

Cluds · 24/09/2010 15:01

Huge congrats StrictlyTory love the name! Really hope you are ok though?
Oh park am sending you lots of hugs and nice thoughts your way. Wish i could help by picking up JJ for you! OK, right, let's think about this............if truth be told, whilst there are stories out there of people doing things (such as shagging, curry, dancing, getting drunk, eating pineapple etc....) and then going into labour we still don't know for sure 100% that they wouldn't have gone into labour anyway had they not done any of those things. PLUS you know don't you that your baby is going to be coming along very, very soon so is it possible for you to just keep really busy over the next few days, or are the contractions too painful for that? If they are too painful then get lots of friends round - invite people round to bring breakkie, lunch, dinner so that you can just sit around and chat and try and take your mind off Fidge. Oh I know I am not helping much, but your post made me feel so sad and i want to help! Take care, and keep us updated.
By the way just had my sweep, but mw doesn't feel too optimistic..........booking in to see her next week for another one.

parkj83 · 24/09/2010 15:47

Thanks Debs and Cluds.

I just had a wobbly moment is all, thank you for your lovely advice. (low blood sugar I think - I forgot to have lunch)

Cluds, it's not that the contractions are painful - they're just not escalating enough to be 'proper' contractions. Add to that I just don't have the energy to do much. I've also been a bit lax with taking my iron tablets, so it's possible I'm slightly anaemic - note to self, stop slacking!

On a slightly brighter note, I do have another homeopathic induction booked for Monday, and with all the prep my body is attempting atm, hopefully it'll be more receptive to the induction, if Fidge isn't here already x

DH just sent me a lovely email which has boosted me a bit - now I don't want to curl up and cry, I just have a bad headache and want to sleep! So, gonna pop some paracetamol, and try and nap while DS is occupied with his games console (TGI Friday!)

thank you all again xx keep you posted if anything does take off x

cinnamongreyhound · 24/09/2010 16:19

Congratulations StrictlyTory!

I didn't have as many contractions as you've had parkj83 but I had quite a few between my 2 sweeps and my cervix was much more favorable by the second one so try not to think that they are doing nothing. On the induction front I really didn't want to have a second induction but it was a million times better than my first and anything I expected. I was so upset about it too but if that's the way it's going to be, being negative about it won't help either. Hope your homeopathic induction works or something happens for you over the weekend.

On a totally unrelated matter I have set up a public profile and I have been trying to add photos so you can all see my gorgeous little man but they won't upload. Any ideas from anyone? Are the files just too big?

Had my last midwife visit today and Luke is now 9lb 8oz, has put on 6 1/2oz since he was weighed sunday! All is well otherwise, and I have decided to take an extra week off so I will have a week at home alone with my 2 little men Grin

AliKatt · 24/09/2010 16:33

Hello all!

Many, many congratulations on all the new arrivals :) And good luck to everyone still waiting!

park sorry you're having such a frustrating time. Hope it happens for you soon!

As for me... EDD is tomorrow. I've now been on mat leave for 2 weeks and have pretty much got the house ship shape so, at long last, actually feeling ready for baby to arrive. Hopefully he won't now keep me waiting around too long... This weekend I will be mostly eating curry and pineapple ;)

Next MW appointment on Weds... I'm very much hoping not to have to go to it :o

parkj83 · 24/09/2010 16:40

cinnamon trust me, I'm not thinking they're not doing anything Wink I've had a couple of checks over the past week and in general, from when I first was getting contractions to now, my cervix has dilated a bit more - it was 1-2cm, but now it's headed on the way to being 3cm, but it's long and not soft enough yet IYSWIM so not quite there yet.

Sigh. I'm going to take each day as it comes up to Tuesday, and if I get to Tuesday, I'll make darned sure that I won't be bullied co-erced into anything I'm not 100% happy with. Thank goodness for you guys, and my doula too - she's helping me stay positive too (although it doesn't sound it atm!)

MammyG · 24/09/2010 18:15

Hi all
just a quick update. Have arrived home with my beautiful baby girl. Phoebe Elizabeth arrived on wednesday at 8.50pm weighing a tiny 7.1. She is just so dainty by comparison to her buster brothers. I am absolutely besotted (not to mention knackered). I had a lovely experience in hospital too which was wonderful considering how worried I was. Will post more detail later. congrats to anyone else who has had a baby since. i will read thru properly later. And to those of you waiting - all good vibes things come along esp park

cinnamongreyhound · 24/09/2010 19:51

Congratulations MammyG!!

comixminx · 24/09/2010 22:13

Commiserations Park and many congratulations to MammyG! It'll all be over soon now one way or the other, Park, at any rate - sorry for the platitude....

OP posts:
ooosabeauta · 25/09/2010 11:55

Congratulations MammyG! What a lovely name too! Glad your labour experience was good.

I always thought we might have ours at the same time because our dates were similar and not our firsts, and my ds started on time, but I'm still waiting. No signs apart from some menstrual cramps, but had that for weeks so not taking much notice.

Sorry Park that it's getting tough and tiring now. It has to happen for you soon!

Congratulations to all others I've missed.

40+3

Swordfishtrombones · 25/09/2010 12:39

Congratulations MammyG! And alsostrictlytory - lovely girls and lovely names Grin.

Sending lots of positive labour vibes to everyone, especially Park who seems to be having a rough time of it. It's so frustrating isn't it? I didn't have the contractions and niggles and promising signs that you had Park but it was just as bad having to wait until 42 weeks and being induced and still nothing happening until the very end. And if you do end up in hospital etc then it can still be a really positive experience so try not to set your mind on a particular scenario or a specific midwife etc if you can help it.

Any news from Boostar yet? She was being induced on the same day as me.

beaditAli · 25/09/2010 18:08

Just a quick note to say I had my adorable little Jack on Monday night by emergency c section. A very long and really rather horrendous time but hey ho Smile
Got back home on Wednesday night and have been enjoying the lovely fella ever since! 9lbs 7oz so a bit of a whoppa! Grin Grin xx

0 weeks!

cinnamongreyhound · 25/09/2010 20:15

Congratulations beaditAli, sorry you had a horrible time but glad you are enjoying your little man! I think he is the biggest so far, Swordfishtrombones and I shared the biggest until now.

Had a horrible teary day today, felt really sad but for no reason. Decided to put Luke in the sling and go for a walk around the forest with the dog, a bit of fresh air really helped. So strange how these things hit you as I had the best night so far last night, Luke slept from 10.30 until 3 and then slept until 7 and then went straight back to sleep so I had a nice dozey cuddle in bed with DH until 8.30, Luxury!

Haven't heard from parkj83 today, maybe she's having her baby?

PickleSarnie · 25/09/2010 20:28

Woah......its been another baby bonanaza since last time I've been on the thread. Hugest congrats to all the new mums and welcome to the world all the lovely new babies.

I'm going to add another one to the pile - Fraser John was born weighing 7.11 lbs on 21st Sept after a fairly hideous 23 hours in hospital following 4 previous days of constant contractions. Then he didn't breath for what seemed like hours but was probably just a minute or so which was terrifying. But it was all worth it in the end, he's bloody lovely.

Although I think those "4th day blues" have kicked in and I've been bawling my eyes out every 5 minutes with the whole enormity of having to look after another human being (that is currently extremely needy) for the rest of my life. Please tell me it passes and gets easier?!

bellabelly · 25/09/2010 21:31

Congratulations to everyone whose babies have arrived since I last posted!!! Will catch up with the thread later while I'm staying up late for the night feed(s)!

Have had a generally lovely week but was readmitted to hospital early hours of Wed morning - stupid problem with my bladder - I couldn't pee and was in agony!

bellabelly · 25/09/2010 22:24

Sorry - meant to add, am home now, not still stuck in hospital. But have to keep wearing stupid catheter until Weds which is v annoying!

JodeyLea · 26/09/2010 00:07

OOOOhhhhhhh, congratulations ladies! So pleased for(and jealous of) you all who now have your LO's.

I still haven't felt any twinges other than the occasional period style pain. Had my hot curry and pineapple today. Might even try some acupuncture this week??

I've had a good day today as had plenty of sleep last night. Did some wall scrubbing as well as visiting the birthing centre. I really want to go there so am hoping my little bub decides to make an appearance before they decide to induce me. Fingers crossed x

Right, off to bed and hoping for another good nights sleep.

cinnamongreyhound · 26/09/2010 06:21

I never had the feelings of being overwhelmed at having to look after another person but the tears and emotional waves do pass Picklesarnie. I had it both times when my milk came in and as I posted yesterday was feeling sad and cried about nothing!

Sorry to hear about you having to return to hospital bellabelly, glad you're home now.

Fingers crossed for your birth centre birth and good nights sleep JodeyLea.

JodeyLea · 26/09/2010 09:55

Thank cinnamon. This is the second night running that i've managed to get a really good nights sleep with only 2 very short get ups for the loo. Bliss!

As for birth centre, even if I have to be induced, as long as I've only had one propess pessery to get labour jump started, I could still be transferred to the birthing centre as it is attached to the delivery suite in the hospital. So there is still hope. Smile

Good luck to anyone still waiting for the week ahead.

Swordfishtrombones · 26/09/2010 11:05

Congratulations BeaditAli and PickleSarnie - great news! 9lb 7oz wow! And Fraser was a name that DH really liked PickleSarnie. Two more boys. How are we September ladies doing on the boy/girl ratio so far?

Dixiebell · 26/09/2010 11:11

Hi all - today is my EDD! No sign of bubs yet though, so we're going out for Sunday lunch instead :)

40 weeks

sassy34264 · 26/09/2010 11:23

Congratulations to everyone with new babies.
park is still absent, so hopefully she has had LO.
I've cried a few times, more recently cos they've been screaming with wind. Jacob's cry can break your heart and Isobel came up with a more distressing one than ever last night, which had me running crying from the kitchen to get her. I finally gave in and bought some infacol. I've noticed it happens alot when i eat fruit. Bananas and apples are ok, but had bluberries the other day and it was horrendous!

Sorry to hear about your troubles bella, hope you are better soon.

I have my 6 week check up tomorrow and then it's exercise time! I'm eating my own weight in chocolate and icecream weekly at the minute. (trust me when i say that's not much of an exaggeration!) :o

And on quick calculation, swordfish, of 33 born so far, girls winning slightly, 18 to 15...!

bellabelly · 26/09/2010 11:53

Ahhhhhh - 33 babies who weren't here just a few weeks ago. At the risk of sounding schmaltzy and twee, they are little miracles, aren't they? Hoping for more birth announcements soon :) xxx
