Here's the new thread for the September 2010 arrivals - though some babies have already come in July and August, and maybe more to come in August before we're done with this month...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Debs75 · 06/09/2010 09:19

congrats whammie and skye

Is Lucy's EDD today so I am not allowed to have anymore wallowing moments wishing I still had my big belly.

parkj83 · 06/09/2010 09:36

Congratulations Whammie and Skye!

I'm actually quite Envy! Fidge has been messing me about these past couple of days, and I'm now starting to get a teeny bit annoyed at all the stop-start-stop-start!

I just want to get it over and done with!!

I do wonder if my body's waiting for a specific date though?! It might sound really daft, but so far, 2 of the biggest things to have happened to me (DS born, and passing driving test) have had quirky dates...

DS was 04 05 03
Test was 05 04 06

I'm half wondering if this one's going to wait till something like 08 09 10, or 11 09 10 ?! Confused :o

Or maybe it wants to tie in with our wedding... 04 09 04

and be 10 09 10

Cluds · 06/09/2010 09:38

Oh wow, it is all happening! Congrats whammie and skye!
For those that read my post a few days ago, they have caught the thieving ba*rds!! Woohoo! We prob won't get any of our stuff back, but all the matters is that they get put behind bars!!
MammyG, I am on the capsules too, have been taking them daily for about 1 week now, so prob started too late, but they don't tast of anything and aren't doing me any harm so am carrying on with them.
cinnamon hope all is ok, and i really do think the sweep will have an effect and we will be reading about your new baby soon!
I am having so many wierd pains at the bottom of my bump, near my cervix I guess, like contractions as they do kind of make me stop in my tracks and take a few deep breaths. Any ideas what they can be? Plus also got sciatica shooting pains down my right butt to the back of my knee. Absolutely excruciating, and i end up on all fours on the floor - quite embarrassing in Sainsbury's when everyone starts rushing around thinking you are in labour!! Do you think this means that the baby is in the wrong position or i will have what they call back labour? Never had it before with DS1 or DS2.
Sorry for moaning and looking forward to hearing more baby news!

park I am convinced my LO will come on a "4" or "8" day.

My birthday is the 26th so 2+6 = 8
My DP birthday is the 8th
My DD was born on 13th so 1+3= 4

My DP thinks I'm crazy but there you go I am a bit crazy Grin

My EDD is the 17th so if he does come then it would neatly prove my theory - honest Wink

Had some very strong pains last night that went right down into my bits and really thought that maybe it was all going to kick off but then they just stopped as quickly as they had arrived, guess just some more warm up exercises for the main event!

parkj83 · 06/09/2010 09:48

Oh cluds that's, well, kind of brilliant :)

It would be nice if you some things back, but def fantastic that they've been caught xx

parkj83 · 06/09/2010 09:50

Lol, my brother is an 8 baby,

he was born on 09 08 88, was 7lb 1, and his baptism was on 17 08 88... there are other bits too that my mum knows, measurements and stuff!

cinnamongreyhound · 06/09/2010 09:55

I think you're about right Cluds, have heard you shouldn't take the RLT capsules before 37 weeks. I've had pains in my cervix for a while and I asked the midwife hoping it would be it thinning and softening but she said that second and subsequent babies are just more uncomfortable to carry! Not very encouraging! Not sure if siatica has anything to do with position of the baby, if you're worried about baby being back to back spending time on all fours is the best thing you can do (although perhaps not in Sainsburys! Glad they caught your burgulars and lets hope they manage to get a conviction. Will let you know how the sweep goes tomorrow!

catbus · 06/09/2010 10:06

Cluds Glad they caught the buggers: what an waful thing to go through.

park There is nothing wrong with thinking about the number thing; my DC3 was born on his due date, which was 8.11., and he weighed exactly 8 lb 11...Smile

I could probably find some spooky parallels with the girls' birth dates..Well, DD2's birth weight was 6 lb 11, which is my birthdate, so there's one for starters!!

This one is due 9.09.: I hope to god the birth weight does not follow suit. I actually think I am going to drop on the 8th: don't ask, but am sticking to my new moon for a boy theory! (Not that I know the sex, but if it is a boy, I will feel like sleuth of the year, which will make me feel better about the lack of brain cells of late.) Grin

catbus · 06/09/2010 10:09

Oh for godsake: awful is what I meant to say..Blush

parkj83 · 06/09/2010 10:15

lol catbus :o

I've never really thought about it till now, and I haven't dared mention it to DH - he gets worried when I start mentioning stuff like this...!

Monstermuncher · 06/09/2010 10:22

Morning all
Huge congratulations to the latest mummies!
Cluds, thats great news. As Park says, hope you can get some of your stuff back.

Due date was yesterday and nothing is happening .. I hate the waiting

BooStar · 06/09/2010 10:28

HUGE Congratulations to comix, stick, whammie and skye on the arrival of your little ones!! (thinks that's everyone since i last posted - hope I didn't miss anyone out? The thread is hard to keep up with at the mo!)
It's so lovely that they're coming thick and fast now I just wish I could follow suit. I've decided that our boy has obviously come into being to test my patience - he took ages to get conceived and now seems to be very comfortable waiting to be born. I just hope he doesn't continue the trend once he's here!

Little moan - I know everyone means well but if another person asks 'any news, any twinges?' I'm going to commit some sort of assault. I had 6 text messages yesterday from various people, 1 from my sister who should know better as she was overdue with 2 of hers (and who I would have obviously told if anything had started!!)
Ooh the other gem is 'get a move on!' as if I'm deliberately hanging on in there Angry

But have definitely decided now that all these 'induction' tips such as pineapple etc are just old wives tales that when they 'work' are just coincidences as labour would have begun anyway. We've tried everything numerous times: curry, so much fresh pineapple my mouth is in bits, driving on bumpy roads, long walks, lots & lots of sex but nothing! Not even a twinge!

On the plus side through it was nice to have this weekend just to hang out with DH and laze around in bed watching films and going for lovely walks in the forest. We're so prepared now that we had absolutely no more chores left so it was a real bonus. I'm guessing we won't have many (any?) weekends like that again for a loooong while :)

Anyways looking forward to hearing of more arrivals and birth stories, it's what keeps me going at the mo!

Monstermuncher · 06/09/2010 10:34

Hi Boostar

I know what you mean about the enquiries from well meaning friends and family. Do they really think I would have given birth and not told them? I know its lovely that people care enough to be interested but grrrrrr!

BooStar · 06/09/2010 10:39

Monstermuncher I know! I was so tempted to text my sister back and say, 'oh sorry, i had him 2 days ago - did I forget to mention it?' Evil i know ;)

mellymooks · 06/09/2010 11:11

What are people like?! Do they really think we wouldn't let them know if the baby had arrived?!

Even though this time round I have been deliberately vague about my actual EDD people have still been asking for weeks already and I have to bite my tongue almost hourly!!

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Grin

Chathappy · 06/09/2010 11:32

I did actually text my brother back and said I had had the baby last night Grin... (wished I actually had though!)

I haven't mentioned anything on fb for ages about pregnancy etc in the hope people will forget my due date and not ask so much....

ooosabeauta · 06/09/2010 14:31

MammyG it's nice to know my little boy isn't the only one with the nesting bug Smile

Reading about these people texting reminded me of my dh's friend who texted last time saying 'come on ooosa, spit it out!', which drove me absolutely mad. I must have been even more hormonal than this time, because I was spitting feathers to my dh about how rude he was. I wasn't even overdue though!

Had a midwife appointment this morning and am measuring small for dates again (just outside their threshold this time) so got to go for a growth scan on Thursday morning. I'm sure I remember other people mentioning having this. Can I ask what the outcome of yours was if you had it? Am slightly nervous but hoping it's just a smallish but normal enough baby issue. My mum was only 4lbs something when she was born so maybe it's in the family.

Cluds, congratulations on their arrest. That's quite rare I believe, so really good news. Re. the sciatica, I'm no expert but I don't think it's linked to a back-to-back baby, more likely to do with your spine being slightly out of alignment due to your bump being at this advanced stage, and pushing on your sciatic nerve, which sends pains down your leg. I've got a bit of sciatica this time (not back-to-back apparently, thank God), and didn't have it with ds (when he was back-to-back). Stating the obvious... it's a pain!

bananastew · 06/09/2010 19:21

evening all! Congratulations to all the new arrivals!! I have been reading but not had time to post! All lovely names (especially yours Whammie)& lovely to here that there have been no horror stories and everyone is doing well.

Cluds how awful the last week must've been but at least they've caught them & you've got an imminent exciting new arrival to take your mind off things!

I'm going to slightly change the thread from pregnant moans to new baby moans! Visitors!!!!!!! Its great everyone wants to meet Oliver but seriously, no I don't want visitors at 8 o'clock at night especially when I haven't seen you for 2 years! No, you can't make up for being a crap friend buy wanting to visit & bring lots of pressies and yes family that live 3 hours away take priority over those that live 5 mins down the road!!! Aaaaaaaargh!

ThatDamnDog · 06/09/2010 19:36

Just a brief hello before I go for a bath and a big Yay! for skye - well done :)

Sympathies to catbus re the housing woes - what timing! Really hope things work out ok for you. And also to those with pet sorrows :(

Cluds it's GREAT to have the thieving buggers caught - I really hope they track down your stuff.

No baby here - BH all afternoon though and my poor cervix is taking a battering but I suspect I'll still be clinging on in 3 weeks time ... :( [outraged]

patito · 06/09/2010 19:47

Hi

Have been reading but just settled down to post for first time. DP has taken DS out and Maia is sleeping soundly. Took her for check up at GPs today and her belly button is infected Sad. Have to give her a antibiotic cream, I hate to give it her at only 5 days old.

Wow, September is coming on well with the new arrivals...

A huge congratulations to
conmix on little Aphra what a beautiful name.
stick for Isabelle Grace. Thought Id done well with no stiches at 7 9llbs but that is good going.
whammie on speedy Oliver. How did you get in the car at that stage of labour?? With both DC´s I couldn´t move once they had started to birth, not to mention the sensations of contractions in the car [impressed smiley]. You´re very brave, well done to you for keeping calm with it all.
Skye on Arlo Phoenix (Phoenix was my pick if Maia had been a boy). Glad to hear he´s latched on well.

cluds sorry to hear about the burglary, some compensation that they´ve been caught and hopefully you´ll soon have a wonderfull new event to overide the memory of it.

cinnamongreyhound · 06/09/2010 20:06

It's always hard, most people stayed away when we had DS and I was really sad we didn't have many visitors to show our new baby off to bananastew!

watersprite · 06/09/2010 21:56

Hi all,

cinnamongreyhound I can feel her kicks just past my belly button, can't really make out the rest. I can also feel that she is very low down and my bump dropped at 34 wks and has dropped even more so that it's hard to walk. Last examination at 34+4 she was 3/5 ceph.

Went to bed last night and had another uncomfortable night, tightenings lasting for 3hrs and today again the same. Better than the other night when they went on for 6 hrs.

Found out today that my OH will be having his hernia repair tomorrow, they wanted to do it 21 Sept but that too close to my due date the 27 Sept, just hopeing that it goes smoothly :)

ThatDamnDog · 06/09/2010 22:19

watersprite - my dad had a hernia repair earlier this year and has been back to work as a builder for months no problems :)

whammie76 · 06/09/2010 22:40

Cluds - How awful you won't get your things back, but at least they are caught.

bananastew - great minds think alike lol. Hope your Oliver is doing fine, despite all his visitors! My Oliver is doing well, lost a bit of weight so he's down to 5lb 7oz which is only about half of what he could have dropped so quite pleased. He's still quite slow at taking his feed, but apparantly normal for early babies. We've been lucky that we've not had too many visitors, as everyone's been saying we'll visit in a couple of wks, so waiting for the swarm!

Patito - Hope Maia's infected belly button clears up soon. p.s love her name - so beautiful Smile

re the labour - it wasn't easy getting in the car, I had car door open but couldn't get in until the contraction had passed which lasted 40 seconds. DH wasn't really helping by saying do you need a hand in lol. Once in I had to recline the seat back and just bare it, it was truly awful trying to breathe through the contractions while DH got stuck at lights, in traffic. Once in labour room the midwife said she was surprised I didn't already have my jeans off, seriously how was I meant to get them off in mid-push lol Hmm

Have any of you ladies that have since given birth, had these after-pains? Nobody told me about these and my god they're agony! I'm still getting them and that's been 5 days now.

eggonlegs · 07/09/2010 02:14

Hi all,

I'm not a poster but an avid reader.

Wanted to say congrats to you all on the deliveries, and to those coping with being overdue. Thanks for being a great source of support and humour over the last 9 months.

My update - I had a planned c-section (large baby and previous section) that was booked for the 1st Sept - my birthday and good for school year that was changed at the last minute for 31st Aug! Had to leave for hosp at 6am with DH to follow having dropped off DS at daycare but DS was unwell and couldn't go in planned cue me in pre admission area at hosp on the phone with DH at home desperately trying to arrange last minute childcare. We're in Australia with no family nearby so huge thanks to neighbour who took the day off work to help out! Though in retrospect if we had cancelled then school year dilemma would have been sorted out Wink

Anyway after hectic stressful start Johannes Henri was born at 12.56 weighing 9lb. I'd forgotten how immobile you are after c-section for the first 48hrs but now doing really well and baby being an absolute star.

Only downside is that I've had really mixed reactions to the name - actually no-one likes it! I really didn't think it was that unusual Hmm. I'd appreciate an really honest MN opinion on the name - good bad and ugly!!

Apologies for the long post and good luck to you all.x
