Here's the new thread for the September 2010 arrivals - though some babies have already come in July and August, and maybe more to come in August before we're done with this month...

Oosa Thats such a co-incidence. DS1 who is 4 has gotten so homey. Thats why I timed it with cousins because he was happier to stay when they had their toys with them so it was a novelty. But every morning now he asks where are we going today and I have to fill him in on the schedule so he understands at what time we will be home or he panics. Also he has gotten really insecure about being in the car on his own. He started wigging out if I left him in there at all. Which means I cant pop into the shop for milk or even run out of the car to drop something off if he cant see me. His younger brother isnt at all bothered. But lately even if they are in the car outside the house. Our car pulls right up to our front door. Had both of them in their car seats - ran in to pee (again!) and collect my bag, came out he was in floods!! They must sense somthing.
As for low bp its such a pain. I think it is very depressing. Esp as I am a doer. I need to be active - too mush time with my own thoughts is not good for me! Pregnancy really is the gift that just keeps on giving!

coppertop · 04/09/2010 23:23

Congratulations to those of you with new arrivals! :):):)

Still another 3 weeks to go for me and no sign of anything happening yet.

whammie76 · 04/09/2010 23:28

Hi Everyone, Congrats to Comix, Stick & patito Lovely names too!

Update from me: baby Oliver was born on 2nd Sept at 10.21am weighing 5lb 12oz. (37+3 wks gestation)

It all happened so quick. Woke at 2am with mild contractions, they intensified at 8am, so phoned hospital who said just to see how I went but phone back if they were closer together. Phoned back at 9am to say it was too much and they were 5 mins apart. Said I could come in but may be sent away again. Had to wait on DH returning from school run, so left for hosp at 9.30am. It's a 40 drive there so half way they I felt an urge to push, but didn't let on to DH, as couldn't face him driving any faster that he was!

When we were only a few mins from hosp, I asked him to hurry and contractions were only a min apart by then, also admitted baby was coming! We reached labour ward car park, I couldn't move, so DH ran to get help and about 6 staff ran out and hauled me out the car, got me into labour room and DS was born 4 mins later! It was quick but was mighty unbearable, the 4 mins of gas & air I got was my saviour, really calmed me down. Grin

comixminx · 05/09/2010 09:22

Gosh whammie76 how exciting and fast! Scary too I bet. When I first felt I had to push it was like nothing else on earth - imagining feeling that in the car would be another level of scary! How brave of you - but then you just had to get through it of course.

Hope things are settling down with you now!

congrats whammie!! You did really well getting there just in time. How exciting. To all the others who've had their babes, Congratulations!!

Have been told by sonographer that it does look more like a girl rather than a boy Confused so we're not sure anymore.

Baby's head is engaged apparently, just got back from midwife. Am so nervous...

mellymooks · 05/09/2010 10:18

Wow whammie that is cutting it fine!! Well done for making it there by the skin of your teeth and welcome to the world Oliver!!

It's so weird waking up everyday and thinking will it be today isn't it?
I'm starting to resign myself to going to my due date or beyond after feeling quite hopeful it would be sooner, but I swear if one more person says to me "it won't be long now" I WILL flatten them, it wouldn't be hard with my bowling ball bump Grin

38+3

coppertop · 05/09/2010 10:49

LOL at flattening people with your bump. I think I could register mine as a lethal weapon. :o

Congratulations, Whammie and welcome to little Oliver. :)

ThatDamnDog · 05/09/2010 12:38

Wow whammie, that's great going! Congratulations!

My latest drama was a panic about DVT this morning but it turns out it's just severe swelling causing my skin to blister and burn. So now I'm in bed with my feet on a pile of pillows willing this baby to hurry up. My body is not coping with this pregnancy at all.

37 weeks - any tips whammie? Grin

beaditAli · 05/09/2010 12:49

Huge congrats Whammie and well done for getting there just in time!
We have 8 days to go and looks as though we could have the third Oliver! Although Jack is in the running too. Obviously popular but gorgeous classic names!
Hope everyone is feeling as well as possible and good luck to anyone going through it today.

I was hoping my weeping this morning (after a very sad visit to the vets) might have brought things on but no such joy and curry didn't work last night either.

skyeplusbump · 05/09/2010 14:01

congratulations to everyone who's had babys!
havent caught up on the whole thread yet,but wanted to say...
my sweep worked!
Arlo phoenix was born at 8:29 saturday morning 7lb11, after 3days of pre-labour and just 1hour of active labour! we only just made it to the birthing center!ShockGrin
he's feeding really well too!
will catch up more asap!Smile

skyeplusbump · 05/09/2010 14:06

just re read my post:he was actually 7lb 15 Shock Blush

catbus · 05/09/2010 14:17

Big congrats to Whammie and skye!

Babies coming all over the place now! I think you were very lucky in getting a sweep before your due date skye; they won't touch me before 10 days over here, despite crippling spd, a toddler in a leg cast and the DESPERATE need to get this baby oooot!. Sad!

No signs this end, which is surprising as had the shock of my life yesterday, which basically involves us being homeless very soon. Joy; it couldn't get much better really..

Good luck everyone else. Smile

bellabelly · 05/09/2010 17:21

Congratulations, Stick, Whammie and Skye! Babies everywhere!

beaditali - sorry to hear about your sad visit to the vets - we lost one of our cats yesterday and it's just so horrible at what is supposed to be a happy, exciting time.

whammie76 · 05/09/2010 17:36

Thanks kitty, mellymooks & coppertop! Smile

wow Skye big congratulations & welcome Arlo Phoenix Smile

yes comix it was scary, can't quite believe it happened the way it did - my poor DH he kept asking me how far apart contractions were & I kept telling him to shut up as I couldn't concentrate on timing them. Blush He must have been checking himself going by the breathing noises I was making when I got a contraction. Thanks for updating the list for me too - can't belive how far down I was on the list, now I'm near the top lol.

catbus hope your baby comes soon & your housing situation is resolved too - what a nightmare for you.

beaditali I had a curry last week and I'm sure it put my BP up as had to stay in hospital overnight the following day lol. The night before I went into labour I had a sweet & sour from the chinese lol.

thatdamndog - way you're describing you feel is how I was feeling just the last week or so. I had terrible swelling in my ankles/feet and it made the skin on my heels feel really tight & sore, I was hating going to bed too as so uncomfortable.

FX it all happens soon for you and the other ladies who're nearing the end of their pregnancies.

whammie76 · 05/09/2010 17:40

Thanks bella Smile

Chathappy · 05/09/2010 17:48

Congratulations on those with new babies! They are coming thick and fast now.....

Hope your okay catbus and that you can sort something out with keeping a roof over your heads? How scary at this time as well, hope it gets sorted.

I'm so fed up as all week I was having such a "feeling" it would be this week (pah to that!!). I've not had period pains but been having loads of little symptoms that keep making think it will happen any day and then nothing.... How the days drag by this stage!

My area don't do sweeps till 40+10 either which is annoying as I have a planned section booked for 40+12 as I cant be induced due to it being a vbac this time. I'm ringing my consultant tomorrow to see if she will allow me to have a sweep at my 40+1 appointment this Thursday. Not holding out too much hope that she will though.

Have an acupuncture appointment booked for the day before my due date too.... I'm trying anything now!

Swelling is so bad now and bad carpel tunnel too - can't wait till I can pick up a full kettle in the morning without nearly dropping it!!

Hope everyones having a good weekend.

mellymooks · 05/09/2010 18:30

skye huge congrats so glad he decided to make an appearance those 3 days of pre-labour must have felt like an eternity, welcome Arlo!!

Am impressed that it was then only an hour of active labour though - wow there seem to be a lot of fairly quick labours happening once things really kick off.

I wonder what mine will be like this time round, it's really odd cause you sort of think because you've done it once that you're going to know what to expect but chances are it will be completely different this time round so it still feels as unknown as the first time IYSWIM!!

cinnamongreyhound · 05/09/2010 19:18

Congratulations whammie76, that's scarily close!!

Hadn't thought about using my bump as a weapon Mellymooks but considering carrying something to hit people with!

Congratulations skyeplusbump!

Sorry to hear about your sad news beaditAli and bellabelly, my pets are such a big part of my life I know how you must be feeling :(

No more signs for me after I was sure everything was starting Friday night. Have had a really horrible day today with lots of tears, fed up of being pregnant now and my parents (worrying about me of course) have turned what was supposed to be a nice day into a totally nightmare. Now I'm feeling exhausted emotionally and physically and all I want to do is cry. Back to work tomorrow feeling knackered before I start isn't really what I wanted. Hoping baby waits until I've caught up on a bit of sleep. Hope everyone who's still waiting is feeling well, we've had lots of lovely sunshine today on the plus side!

40+5

beaditAli · 05/09/2010 20:20

Oh thank you Whammie76 and cinnamongreyhound. Poochy just about does cartwheels to avoid going into the vets. I think passers by must be very amused. Anyway, he'll be starting chemo in the next few days and I think my amount of sobbing has just about trebled since we found out. Though I also think it's made me stress a lot less about impending labour. I'm hoping I can stay calm thinking he'll be going through much worse.
Anyway.... poochy aside I'm feeling great but only had 3 hours sleep last night so Mr Gaviscon is coming to bed with me again tonight.
cinnamongreyhound Hoping things happen for you very very soon. No wonder you're feeling fed up but you'll be beaming soon! x
Welcome Arlo Pheonix!! Great name!

Swordfishtrombones · 05/09/2010 20:58

Big congratulations to comix, stick, whammie and skye - wonderful news and lovely names! And all of you back on mumsnet straight away Grin.

Still no signs here. I'm getting seriously Fed Up at being overdue now. I've not had any signs at all. I'm booked for a sweep on wednesday, but the last experience I have of having a sweep is so hideous that I'm more terrified of having one than giving birth. It still makes me shudder. Still, I expect I'll have to grit my teeth and give it a go.

Sorry, feeling really glum when I should be really cheery at the thought of all these lovely babies. I just want to meet mine.

40 + 3

mellymooks · 05/09/2010 21:11

sword i know exactly what you mean, when the mw came to our house when I had begun in labour (in my first pregnancy) to examine me she just couldn't do it as I was so tense she only managed it once I got on the gas and air, I am dreading that this time round I won't actually be in labour and will be being swept and the option of gas and air won't be an option IYSWIM and that I just won't be able to let them do it, I am also dreading this side of things more than any other aspect, I am rubbish with smear tests and the like as it is!

MammyG · 05/09/2010 21:42

Huge congrats Whammie and Skye
Whammie - same thing happened to my cousin in april. She had her little girl literally inside the door of the hospital. Its dramatic enough that you are bringing a life into the world without all the extra drama - still it will make a great story for you LO
Skye - stunning name! I liked Arlo anyway but Phoenix just sets it above!
Catbus - hope things resolve themselves soon enough. Will be thinking of you.

Another day of massive discomfort. Dont know what is going on. Just cant remember what it was like with the boys - its not like it was aeons ago? Please Please Please let this baby make her way out on her own! or at the very least make the situation more favourable! My inductions have been horrible because there was no sign of impending labour at all.
Tried Raspberry leaf tea yesterday too and it is yuck! Cant eat curries so better warn DH its all down to him!

watersprite · 05/09/2010 22:04

Congratulations to all those who have had their little ones :)

36+6 and really wished my little one would make an appearance as these tightenings can be really intence at times :(

Hopeing tonight when I go to bed that it will be more comfortable than the last wk's of tossing and turning. Also hopeing at my 38 wk check midwife will tell me she has turned as she is back to back.

cinnamongreyhound · 06/09/2010 08:06

My experience last time wasn't too bad Swordfishtrombones but it didn't work, think a lot depends on who does it. Trying to feel positive that the contractions I had even though they stopped have thinned/opened my cervix slightly and a sweep will have some affect. But it's much better than an induction so I'll take as many as they offer me!!

Try the capsules MammyG a friend of mine is taking them instead of drinking the tea as she said its horrible! I know what you mean about induction I was really hoping to avoid it this time. Was considering turning it down but the practicalities of monitored at the hospital everyday while I'm still working has made me realise that I will just have to agree to it :(

Fingers crossed for your little one turning watersprite, I think you should be able to tell before then depending where the kicks are. With DS they were all in the front and when I laid down my bump almost disappeared. This time I get them all under my ribs and when I lay down I can see a bump at one side which I think is a bottom, based on where the midwife says he is.
