Here's the new thread for the September 2010 arrivals - though some babies have already come in July and August, and maybe more to come in August before we're done with this month...

Congratulations Jaysfourth! Good to hear from you with the news - though sorry it was not as you would have ideally wanted. But yes, you tried and tried hard...

Today's my due date! No definite signs yet though - as with you, Boo, mostly BH.

Congratulations Jaysfourth! The most important thing is that your little girl arrived safely and that you are ok as well, although I can understand why you are a bit emotional.

Who's next then?

Have just spotted my neighbour opposite walking around his bedroom in just his (very small pants) which has cheered me up no end :o

ooosabeauta · 28/08/2010 14:35

Congratulations Jaysfourth! Wonderful name too Smile. Hope you feel ok xx

bananastew · 28/08/2010 14:40

Congratulations Jaysfourth and welcome Marianne! Sorry it wasn't as you wanted but at least you're both ok & you get get back home soon!

I'm also completely fed up! Not sleeping either but its more due to the fact that this baby will not get away from my ribs! Its agony! Even though he's right down and engaged, he's really high too. I'm not a very big person so he's taking up every available mm!

Congratulations Jaysfourth and Sazzie!!

Jaysfourth sorry to hear that the birth wasn't exactly what you were hoping for :( At least you and your little one are both safe though, that's the most important thing :)

I have a cold and am feeling rubbish. Forcing myself to get on with the decorating and organising that we need to get done this weekend... haven't finished the nursery, packed my bag or bought any nappies/breast pads/etc. yet so too much to do to slack off! I can't really complain because this pregnancy has been a breeze so far, but I could still do without having a head full of cotton wool and sneezes.

Hope everyone else is doing well and not feeling too grumpy!

36 weeks exactly

AliKatt · 28/08/2010 15:06

bananastew I know what you mean about the ribs! I'm a shortie (5'1") and DH is tall (6'5") - I think our little man takes after his Dad because as soon as I lie down he stretches out and pummels my ribs. Sometimes I have to get up and walk around for a bit to squash him back down!

beaditAli · 28/08/2010 15:08

Brilliant news and Marianne is a super pretty name! Congratulations.
cinnnamongreyhound: my greyhound is 11 in April so it's quite a blessing really that he can't manage the stairs these days. The gates might be able to stay off until our little man is more mobile!
Still crunching on ice and sucking my loofah in the bath like there's no tomorrow. Gaviscon is also my life saver at night!
Hope everyone can enjoy the Bank Hol! x

coppertop · 28/08/2010 16:36

Congratulations to Jaysfourth and Sazzie! :)

Jaysfourth - Sorry that things didn't happen the way you had hoped. :(

Chathappy · 28/08/2010 18:26

Congratulations jaysforth and sazzie!

No signs of labour for me yet either, although my bump feels much bigger at this point than it did with my boys (not sure if that is good or bad!).

Would be strange if it happened tomorrow as it's our first wedding anniversary and we would be sharing the date! I doubt it will though!

Hope you're all coping ok in these final weeks!

Congratulations jaysfourth - what a beautiful name. Welcome to the world Marianne - hope you enjoy the ride Grin.

What a shame things didn't work out as planned but the main thing is that she's out and she's healthy. Wihing you a speedy recovery - you're going to need it with all those little ones. And who knows, maybe we'll be hearing about 'Jaysfifth' in the years to come Wink

sazziej · 28/08/2010 20:08

Huge congratulations Jaysforth - what a beautiful name.

I didn't my ideal birth either but keep telling myself that the main thing is Evie arrived safely. so far she has been a little star and is settling into her new home.

I've had a really emotional day today as my m-i-l has been taken really ill, we're just hoping she improves.

Hand in there everyone, not long now... I'll post a more detailed update soon when things have settled down.

Debs75 · 28/08/2010 20:14

Congratulations Jaysfourth Love the name Marianne.
Sorry you had a rough time but you have alovely baby and 10lbs WOW. Lucy will prob be 4 months before she gets to 10lbsSmile

Are we going to add weights to the list? I am looking at you Dixie

cinnamongreyhound · 28/08/2010 20:22

Good to hear from you Jaysfourth and congratulations! I'm glad you are both well and totally understand your emotions, I feel like this birth has to give me everything the last one didn't for me to be happy. Plus I have a very good friend who is stil brought t tears by talking about her labour and DS over 3, make sure you talk to as many people as you need to. As others said you have to focus on you both being healthy and you did try everything you could!

Ours is still very active beaditAli and she's on our bed any chance she gets which is on the second floor as we live in a town house!

On a positive note I've been having peroid type pains for a week or so but this morning had them 3 times with BH/my whole uterus really tight and quite uncomfortable so I am starting to think that my body may know what it's doing this time around. Had BH all day but I have been pretty active, went to Yarmouth and played crazy golf, walked a lot and was on the beach for a few hours so that could be it.

Congratulations, Jaysfourth! Love the name, sorry your birth didn't go the way you wanted. Hope you feel better - physically and emotionally - very soon. x

patito · 28/08/2010 22:06

Congratulations jaysfourth on baby Marianne. Sorry to hear your birth experience didn´t turn out as you´d hoped. Hope you are recovering well and are able to get home to be with your family again soon.

skye Im in Spain. Things have cooled off some today and hoping to get some sleep tonight. But in for a rise in temps again tomorrow. Sad.

Well, d-Day has passed me by without a contraction in sight. Think Im stiil on the list for 4th Sept, but they changed date to today at growth scan. A friend told me that my lips looked swollen and that was a sure sign imminent labour!?! Not heard that one before, but hoping she´s right.

Just in case she is and I go into labour wanted to say thank you to all lovely new mums and soon to be new mums. (I might forget after birth) Wanted to say it as have spent some time on here moaning and it´´s be great to share this experience and hearing your stories along the way. And despite all the moaning I feel very lucky to be having a baby, and have enjoyed all the ups and downs so far... and for what the future brings. Smile

ooosabeauta · 28/08/2010 22:34

That's a lovely sentiment Patito , which I second. I'm doing too much moaning and am really, truly grateful to be in this situation. It's lovely to read other people's experiences too, especially this second time when I don't have a RL antenatal group. Best wishes for the imminent birth, if your friend is right Smile

LadyRabbit · 29/08/2010 00:45

Aw congratulations, Jaysfourth, that's amazing news! Glad you and baby Marianne are safe and well, and that you recover quickly from it all. 10lbs8 is incredible!!!

OK, you said it patito and right now I need to moan. Actually, no, I need to cry. I think I am crying; sobbing in fact. Sad Sad

After spending the last few months getting our house ready for baby's arrival, my DH came into the kitchen this evening looking ashen faced, and warns me I am either going to cry or laugh hysterically. For the third time in 2 years, our spare bedroom will now need to be totally re-decorated after another humungous leak from our bathroom upstairs. We have regular builder/plumbers we use who are very sweet, quite cheap but, as I suspected, cheap for a reason. I am biting my tongue because I raised concerns with DH when they repaired the room a few months' ago... because while they are reliable and trustworthy etc., things are never quite right. I so wish I had put my foot down a while back and insisted we just spend a bit extra and get things done well rather than cut corners. (An old story, I know...)

We have two weeks before this baby is here. I cannot bear the thought of more bloody builders in our house while I am going through the first few weeks of our first baby. I don't know where to begin to look for people to sort this out; I don't want to get into an argument with my DH over it but I'm not sure I trust him to take care of it without a grumble or two...

However, ever the optimist, we now have a rock solid reason for no house guests at all during the first month or two of our new baby being here. Grin

mellymooks · 29/08/2010 09:53

ladyrabbit that's terrible, I'm not surprised you're upset you don't need that going on as well! Where are you? I know some brill builders/plumbers etc round Gloucestershire area, and if you told them about your imminent arrival I reckon they would try and fit you in.

Had terrible night hardly any sleep and think I'm coming down with DD's cold Sad

Hope everyone has a good Sunday, it's sunny here which makes a change but def. feels more autumnal - hooray I can soon get my lovely boots out, I love autumn clothes Smile

whammie76 · 29/08/2010 10:08

Congratulations Sazzie & Jaysfourth - lovely names too!

I'm getting really fed up now, and I've still got 3 wks to go before I reach my EDD. So I hope I don't go over that lol. Got 1 week left of work so pleased at that, as it sent my blood pressure sky high the other day, thankfully it's come down to normal now.

I got that comment yesterday park, and numerous others while at work last week. One that bugs me at work is 'how are you keeping'? Well fine obviously - I'm still at work aren't I? Also had 'Are you still here?' Yes, I am - it's quite common to work up until 2 wks before due date these days is it not! I got yesterday 'at least the summer's not been too hot for you' - I would have rather had a nice warm summer thanks.

Chelle1986 · 29/08/2010 10:19

Morning everyone, hope you're all well today.

I just want a winge....sorry....lol.

I feel poop today - had an awful nights sleep, my DP is a police officer and was on nights last night at creamfields....I NEVER sleep when he isn't there. Plus last night was the constant worry that something would happen when he was gone.

Also went to bed and woke up with a crappy headache and a really achy lower abdomen...and now he keeps headbutting me in the cervix....

What a poop start to the day. Hopefully things can only get better! Thanks for the sounding board!

37wks.

xx

mellymooks · 29/08/2010 10:34

whammie the comments are classic eh? I saw my two neighbours yesterday whilst out in my garden weeding and they both said "oh you haven't had it yet then?" I had to bite my tongue so hard to stop myself saying, "no actually I have, this giant bump you can see is just the inordinate amount of cake I have eaten." Arrrgh!! Why would you ask such a question when it's BLOODY obvious I haven't had him yet, ahhhhh that feels better Wink

cinnamongreyhound · 29/08/2010 10:52

That's terrible LadyRabbit, hope you can find someone who will fix all sooner rather than later. If you have to have a fight over it then do it, will save you stress and money in the long run!

Sorry you're feeling rubbish Chelle1986, I'm still sleeping quite well apart from weeing regularly and waking up to turn over, but can't imagine how I'd feel if I wasn't. I've had period pains in my lower bump for over a week now and lots of stabbing pains in my cervix for quite a while but I'm still here :(

I had that from the cashier in tesco whammie76, I felt like saying 'yes its been great to be stuck in the house because of the pouring rain, thank goodness it's not been hot how would I have coped!'

Today is the first day I have actually felt fed up of being pregnant in the morning. Usually by the evening I'm tired and uncomfortable I wake up the next day feeling fine. I feel very grumpy and uncomfortable this morning, baby's kicking me in the ribs and DH has suggested that we should clean the house as baby could arrive any time! Nice way to spend a Sunday, even if I know he's right. Plus I have been washing everything and have a pile of ironing and want to get DSS's things ready for school today in case it ends up that my mum has to take him to school so she knows where everything is.

Better go, have left DSS and DS in bath to get a bit of time to myself and the bathroom is probably totally wrecked!

Hope everyone else is feeling better than me and has a lovely Sunday.

MammyG · 29/08/2010 11:28

Morning all.
Huge Congrats Jays. Beautiful name too. Glad she is safe in your arms and hope you feel better soon.
I feel ick today. Had boys all day yesterday as Hubbie had big days cycling. My hips are killing me! Shooting pains down to my knees. To top it off DS1 couldnt sleep last night and was in with us and some idiot in a souped up car decided racing on the straight at 7 am this morn was good idea! Im not sleeping at all with bladder but waking up with sore hips etc is the pits. I dont remember feeling this uncomfortable at 42 weeks with the boys! Back to work tomorrow for a couple of days. It isnt long but Im dreading being on my feet.
I thought I had resigned myself to going over and being induced again but now find myself hoping this one will be different and looking for changes. I will have myself rightly wound up! My mum was induced on all 6 of us so I shouldnt hold out hope. I had forgotten how impatient I get at this stage. Suppose Its natural to just want your baby and get this part over and done with.
Whammie - people keep commenting on the size of my bump. Driving me mad. Im quite tidy and short but have lost a lot of weight since my other two so as a friend pointed out, proportionally this is the biggest baby. I know I look neat but it just makes everyone want to touch me and its freaking me out! Wouldnt it be funny if all pregnant women just surprised the rest of the world by having a day where we ran around touching everyone elses bellies and see how the feel about it!
