Calling The Viroids - Just Shagging Graduates!

Just thought I'd start a thread for all those JS graduates, whether a newbie graduate or even if you left us a while ago and are well on your way. Would be good for us to keep in touch, see if we're all staying 'sane'. Grin

Don't know about you ladies, but I am still filled with the overwhelming urge to PIAR (that's POAS for all you older graduates - after you left us we went a little mad and started harnessing the power of the ramekin!) I think once you start the habit it doesn't leave you!

Well, it's good to know that the Just Shagging method works. Even if we did once in a while just cheat a teeny tiny little bit! Wink

No nausea here either. Never really had any, just felt knackered.

Apparently this means it's a boy.....

No boob increases either. And no real bump and no movement. This is a freaky symptomless pregnancy - I keep worrying it means something is horribly, horribly wrong.

frakkinstein · 26/10/2010 13:37

Oi TTL - are you planning to go see TT whilst very pregnant given the news today [hgrin]

takethatlady · 26/10/2010 14:40

I don't bloody know! They're in Brum on 27th which I could go to as I went to uni in Brum and have friends there, but I'm due 28th! The Wembley dates are all the following week, so I'll either be overdue or in labour or just giving birth.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...

frakkinstein · 26/10/2010 15:47

Are you a UoB grad?

takethatlady · 27/10/2010 12:52

Yes I am - are you?!

frakkinstein · 27/10/2010 13:03

Yes! I think you're sufficiently older than me to have graduated before I got there though....unless you stayed for a while. But then I probably wouldn't know you at all anyway unless you were into Guild stuff as I'm fairly sure your degree wasn't in Music.

Even if it was I probably stand a better chance of knowing you from the Guild as I didn't like my department overmuch...

milanomum · 27/10/2010 14:40

TT Wink

Frakkenstein I had practically no symptoms at all and have a DD so it's a load of bol**cks! when do you get the next scan?

Speaking of which - I booked my first one for 11 weeks but want to get the nuchal scan too which I did with my DD (don't want to get amnio) - what about you lot? Did you?/will you?
I'm totally in the waiting phase...the 'obsessed with what's in your knickers' phase, and just wish time would move a bit faster.

frakkinstein · 27/10/2010 14:43

Next scan, um, dunno? When they tell me? Apparently 20-22 weeks which is around the end of November, start of December. Hoping end of November as DH is away on deployment for most of December.

milanomum · 27/10/2010 15:02

Ah so you get told - that's convenient! They don't do that here so I had to go through my doctor to get the first scan papers but then I have to go and book it myself Confused

frakkinstein · 27/10/2010 15:11

I don't know if they tell me! My appointments so far have been really rushed. I need to ask the midwife on Friday but it seems to be about a 2 week lag between booking scans and having them (or at least it was last time). If I get to book it then that would be great.

Fuzzywood · 27/10/2010 15:30

Hmm wrote a post then lost it so might be repeat. Anyway just popping in to say hi. Really great to see more JS grads.
28 weeks now and feeling fat and tired but only about 4 and a half weeks left in work as I have some leave to take before maternity and need to sort out the bupms room and Christmas so taking a bit longer before its due this time.
Better get on and do some work as been skiving today so will pay for it tomorrow [hsmile]

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 27/10/2010 16:36

What was I going to say?

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 27/10/2010 16:38

Confused ....... meh

takethatlady · 27/10/2010 18:06

Ha ha. Meh.

frak how old are you? I'm 28 - I was there from 2000-2003. I was editor of Redbrick (a very bad editor. I kept trying to change it to a less tabloidy colour and it came out various shades of puke and guts. It was also late a lot Hmm)

frakkinstein · 28/10/2010 05:38

I'm 24 so after your time but we probably had friends in common! Used to shout a Redbrick a lot because they tried to institute a practical advice column about stiudenty issues and got things wrong a lot - I worked at the ARC but they'd never let us check what they were saying Hmm

takethatlady · 28/10/2010 06:47

Ha ha! Sounds about right. Arrogant journos not checking their facts Grin

I also worked at the JobZone and went to a lot of Guild nights.

Ah, happy days! I obviously loved it as even though I left Brum in 2003 I've never left uni Grin

frakkinstein · 28/10/2010 16:23

I've never left uni on Facebook....I get nostalgic around this time of year because I get messages from the Guild telling my all about the stuff they're doing. Although they're ruined Guild Council [hangry]

I go back to Bham whenever I'm in the UK!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 28/10/2010 18:16

Fecking MN losing my fecking post. (Vomits on MN emoticon)

milanomum · 28/10/2010 22:16

Helloooooo!
I am sure I'm showing already - that can't be right. It's probably just muscle relaxation+roll of fat+ bloating creating the effect, right? But it does mean I have to wear strategic, loose clothing or I'm going to be outed very soon FFS! Boobs bursting out of bra too. Meh.

milanomum · 30/10/2010 15:22

Here's some serious 'meh' - following today's events I guess I'm just fat
I posted this on another thread so sorry if some of you have already seen it.
hey everyone,
Bad news here - had a bit of spotting so went to the hospital and was told that my womb is empty. I am really confused seeing as I still had some symptoms but hadn't re-tested since CB told me it was 2-3 weeks...The Dr actually told me I'd tested too early (Angry even though I tested 3 times over a period of 2 weeks and only after my period was due??!!). So, The spotting is actually my period on time, strangely. I don't even know if it's a chemical pregnancy because I've not had a 'late' period - my last period was on the 15th of sept and apart form a bit of light spotting on one day, nothing else, which is strange because I've never had irregular periods. And then there's the small detail of the positive tests of course. The only positive thing is, seeing as there's nothing there, i haven't had an official miscarriage - there wasn't anything in there to come out, so at least I've been spared that. The second doc I saw said that it probably failed early on and got re-absorbed but the hormones are just taking their time to go down.
Ironically, I had booked all my scans and tests yesterday so now I have to cancel them all again next week :(

  • following today's events I guess I'm just fat.
frakkinstein · 30/10/2010 15:33

Ohhhh milano so sorry to hear that :(

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 30/10/2010 17:41

So sorry Milano. Not really sure what to say

milanomum · 31/10/2010 10:58

Thanks guys. Feeling more positive today and glad it wasn't a full-on mc to be honest as that must be a terrible thing to go through.
Off back to the drawing board...

cowboylover · 31/10/2010 11:49

Sorry to hear that but hopefully see you soon x

gormers · 31/10/2010 12:49

Oh Milano, I'm so so sorry to hear that, admire your attitude and know that we'll see you back here before long. Thinking of you, wishing you all the best and hoping that you and your OH are looking after one another. Xxxx
