I am feeling Ok today too, not sick at all, altho have my usual pg insomnia!
Am I the only one who won't be finding out the sex? I sort of want to know (OK, desperately do!) but feel it may be unfair as didn't with ds IYSWIM??? I would love a girl as one of each would be great, but would also love a boy, last time I was convinced it was a girl and with 3 brothers kind of hoping it was too! How wrong??

Terrible twos? DS is 18mths and he has hit tantrum stage already! Full on throwing himself on the floor...actually it's v funny but can be embarrassing!

Lizzylou · 14/09/2005 10:03

Munz, stick to your guns, Phoebe is a lovely name!

Jackstini · 14/09/2005 10:10

LL - no we are not finding out the sex either. I want it to be a surprise - kind of a reward finding out after all that pushing. The old fashioned ideal of MW oging 'it's a ......!'
We are getting some neg comments though 'why on earth don't you want to know?' etc. Are you?

catj · 14/09/2005 10:10

Lizzylou I won't be finding out the sex cos our health authority won't tell you. I hoping this will a boy after three girls. Poor thing won't get a chance to play up with 3 older sisters to sort him out .
My sickness has mostly gone, just pops up occasionally like in the cheese aisle at asda!!

Jackstini · 14/09/2005 10:10

ooops - I meant going!

Jackstini · 14/09/2005 10:11

Catj - I know what you mean - I can't go down the meat aisle or past the cooked chicken counter!

catj · 14/09/2005 10:14

We might have to go veggie in this house cos I can't stand the smell of meat cooking only lamb & bacon. Luckily dh is a dab hand in the kitchen-much better than me in fact.

RosiePosie · 14/09/2005 10:28

Morning sickness gone now, but still hacking away with this cough and hobbling around with the dodgy pelvis.

We will be finding out, even though we already have one of each. ( I was thrilled when I found out my second was a girl ). I am so convinced this one's a boy though - it just feels like it is, I can't explain it. I have a MW appointment on Friday, so should get my scan date then.

newgirl · 14/09/2005 10:43

Frizbe - Romily is lovely - I knew one once and she was called Romy sometimes too. I like Phoebe too - surely we should have the final say on these things after the sickness, sleeplessness, big boobs?!!

I'm still queasy but don't mind so much now. Had loads of tuna sandwiches yesterday.

Good advice about the mattress - I had forgotten that.

Lizzylou · 14/09/2005 10:55

Jackstini...a few people have made comments and also keep saying "I suppose you want a girl now" which is fair enough but I honestly don't care either way!

I think, I felt some "movements" this morning...kinda like kicks but not as strong! Might just have been wind, which is still really explosive!

Lizzylou · 14/09/2005 10:56

Newgirl, have just been to sandwich shop and bought a tuna mayo baguette! And I wonder why I am putting on weight???!
I wonder why it's tuna for a few of us???

munz · 14/09/2005 10:58

jack - I like the idea of waiting for the m/w but i'm also an impatient mare! lol. so we'll find out.

NG - urghhhhhh Tuna sarnies! lol.

I was feelin sick last night at baked beans - baked beans I tell u!!!! only ate a fraction of my tea don't mind the smell of meat thou.

RP - had an email from the nappy lady - she's keeping the 10% offer open for me for an extra day so I can have the multi pack for £125 I think it was for the nippa lot. def worth it - am I normal gettin excited over nappies?

also picked out a 5 peice bedding set - snoopy form USA incl postage it's gonna be £35 bargin (brand new) so will show that to DH tonight. then thats this months budget gone (but big things bought)

Its not fair! I don't need to buy anything cos there's so much stuff between me and my sister. I like retail therapy! Going to use dd1's old maclaren superdreamer pushchair, its about 12 years old but still going strong and its got a carry cot. Only things I need to get are mattresses and a bath. Used to have one that goes over the adult bath but gave it away when I thought I wasn't going to have any more children. Ha ha!
Ooh just remembered-got to get a bigger car. 4 chidren & 2 adults do not fit into a VW golf . I've a fourtrak but that's not very practical either.

Lizzylou · 14/09/2005 12:22

CatJ, we only need mattresses (for moses basket and for cot) but am v excited about imminent purchase of Phil and Ted's...had a test run of one of Saturday and it's fab! Will bebuying it in next few months...

catj · 14/09/2005 12:30

When dd1 was a baby I'm sure the only choice was maclaren or silver cross! Makes me sound ancient doesn't it. I'm just off to go and dye my grey hairs . What's a Phil and Teds like?

Lizzylou · 14/09/2005 12:48

It's a tandem pushchair, with a lovely flat back seat for a newborn and toddler seat at front, you can also have two toddler seats...it's 3 wheel and great because it's compact, easy to manoeuvre (sp?) and fols up quite small. We do quite a lot of walking and will be great for that!

Catj, my grey is starting to come back thru!

catj · 14/09/2005 12:57

Mmmm. Sounds tempting. I might have to go and have a look!

munz · 14/09/2005 13:22

wish we already had it all althou enjoying buyin it all, even thou it's s o expensive. one of my firends has just had a little boy (he'll be ayear once ours comes along - her fourht so she's giving us a load of bits and bobs steralisers and such - but still want to shop till i drop! (shouldn't really!)

TBH even with our first we bought most stuff 2nd hand. NCT sales are quite good. They do them twice a year near us. I always buy clothes in the next size up while they're little and roll sleeves etc up. I don't think I ever had much newborn stuff, went straight to 0-3 months but then mine were all good sizes at birth. Good doers too as they say in the horse world!

munz · 14/09/2005 13:39

what's NCT?

catj · 14/09/2005 13:51

Sorry! National Childbirth Trust. I think they have local groups that organise stuff & do antenatal classes etc.

munz · 14/09/2005 13:54

oh ok then, tbh I'm reluctant to buy too many clothes only because it's the 'common' thing that's bought in our family - not that I expect anything, so i've planned on getting the basics only, u know a few baby grows and some rompers etc.. and a snow suit. (enought till we can get out after baby's been born)

got my blood test results today - it says HIV/Syfalis (sp) anti bodies - negative - assuming that's good? - should I not have anti body's at least?

Oh my goodness - the sickness has gone so I have succumbed to my cravings - for lunch I just had a tin of cod roe, some olives, satay chicken and a litre of chocolate milkshake!!!!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....................................barf!!

munz · 14/09/2005 13:57

oooooooooooooh u choccy milkshake! cod roe - URGHH!! must say actually it's not meat that makes me ill it's the fish even fishy fingers!
