RosiePosie · 13/09/2005 11:12

DHW - fingers crossed with the protein in urine thing. I've been so incredibly lucky to have had straightforward pg's ( apart from the SPD ).

I'm a (whisper. . ) 40 F and still expanding, was a 36D pre-kids. Desperately want a reduction after this one's born!

I love the Ford C-Max, it was on our shortlist. However, sadly not within our budget. Citroen have a £9995 deal on their picasso's at the moment, and we've just inherited some money from dh's grandma - a new car is a new car, so I'm not complaining too much!

desperatehousewife · 13/09/2005 11:15

Rosie - we bought ours when it was a year old, only had 14,000 miles on it, for 7K I think.

I'm so glad to have a fellow big boober to share bra horror stories with! Where do you get yours? Do you think they are going to get any bigger? The bras I've just bought have a little room for expansion but not a great deal.

RosiePosie · 13/09/2005 11:27

That's a great deal on the c-max! Well, so far I've managed to get by with going to M&S and John Lewis. I'm still squeezing into the bras from my last pg ( and the nursing ones from afterwards ) but they're not going to last - I just seem to be getting bigger and bigger. No cheapy Asda jobbies for me - I need scaffolding! I hate that good supportive bras for bigger women are so expensive. Have yet to venture into the specialist bra shops for larger ladies, but I fear it's only a matter of time.

poppyh · 13/09/2005 11:27

Ive been craving spanish sausage!!Yesterday ate a whole packet of Choritzo, then had a terribly upset Tum!!Think I'll stick to tuna sarnies now.
I have a toyota yaris which is gonna be tiny with 3 kids in it!But FIL just got DH an old ford estate for family fun days, its ok.Cant afford a new MPV unfortunately!
Never had a changing station, use my lap or sofa!!
No where to put it anyway.
Like name polly.Used to get called it sometimes when people didnt know my name was Poppy!

poppyh · 13/09/2005 11:29

Im normally an AA cup in Bra size!Especially after breast feeding. Now im a CC Cup.But still able to buy bras from cheapo shops! They are a real novelty for me.

Jackstini · 13/09/2005 11:29

DHW - pmsl at you fitting your head in bra cup! I am up 1 size but still lacking in that dept, much to the annoyance of DH! - see you are not the only one Munz - can't get that big butts song out my head now!
LL - your Dyson thing reminded me, my mum had one of those cylinder hoovers when me and my sis were little and she used to lay us on it to go to sleep.
NG - aha a fellow bun nibbler - I have had 6 this weekend and was feeling really guilty
What is it with DHs hating our fave names - I love Leila for a girl but DH is having none of it
Munz - I hope you get a good mate to go with you for your scan. great plan about finding out the sex though to barter got name choosing

Swiper - where are you - how did your landlord issues go? (it's D-day today isn't it?)

munz · 13/09/2005 11:39

dwh - LMAO I have visions of u with a bra on ur head, and the tesco.com man bringing ur shoppin in another! lol.

was thinkin about either mum coming for the scan (if she can - school permitting) or getting a friend to - the only thing is the friend i'd ask is currently having major probs TTC so I don't want to make her really down again as when I told her I was PG - alhou she was really pleased she also sang into a slight depression, which she's only jsut coming around from.

and u girls - tlaking of food again! - hate tuna -URGHHH! wil have to make do with my cheese sarnies till pay day next week, when DH goes away and I can treat myself to some nice ham, or a mac's!

Hi Everyone!

I've not posted for ages - no reason really!! Glad to see you're all doing so well - time's starting to fly by now, not like those early weeks. I'm 16 weeks tomorrow, have put on 7lbs, got a little bump but just look fat in clothes! Trousers are all too tight, will have to dig out the maternity gear soon! But definitely have my boobs back (they shrunk after bf ds - sorry first-timers!!)!

And I'm still waiting for cravings!

Lizzylou · 13/09/2005 16:06

HI Toothyboy...

I agree, it's going really quick this time round...March here we come!

Frizbe · 13/09/2005 16:14

Bloomin 'eck girls, what a thread and all since last night!

DHW I made a 42b last time I was preg, currently residing at 38D...just making M&S twin pack wireless bras then.....

Girls with 2nd hand cribs etc, please make sure you change the matresses in them, as per the article on here last year sometime, about the bacteria that grows in old matresses, being a prime cause of cot death in 2nd etc children. Can't remember what the article was titled otherwise I'd link to it, but in NZ they now practice matress wrapping, which has virtually negated cot death in that country!

Some fab ideas for names, like Benedict especially, although won't rip it off! we haven't much idea at the mo, although dh likes Finn for a boy.......hmmmm oh and Scarlett for a girl! where as I like Romilly, which the whole family have shouted down, so back to the drawing board for us!

Lizzylou · 13/09/2005 16:16

I love the name Finn for a boy, but DH's friend at work has a little boy called Finn ( he sounds fab, is really bright and funny! DH comes home with stories about him.) and he didn't want to "copy"...
Romilly is a lovely name too....

Jackstini · 13/09/2005 16:19

I like Finn too but hard not copying family etc. In ours we have recently had an Olivia, Ellie May, Lucy, Jorja, Benjamin, Jessica & Finlay so need to avoid all these!

swiperfox · 13/09/2005 16:47

Hello all! blimey it's been busy here!!Glad to see everyone is coming along really well

I'm getting reeeeeeally fed up now. I'm still only 10 weeks but I haven't even got my first ante-natal appt until 22nd sept - and that's with the doc not even the midwife!!

Fingers crossed all is ok with the landlord now, dp took our contract in today all signed and the estate agents assistant said it was fine so dp just said 'Ok i'll bring a cheque in on Friday' Hopefully we'll get away with that!!

On the downside the fridge freezer has blown up which is horrible!! No where to put any milk for ds, butter all melted and nothing fresh for dd's school sandwiches Never ends does it!!

I've been trying to think of names too - i'm all excited because I get the final say on this one as dp got the last 2!! Good to see fin is liked - ds is a Fin (Finlay) I wasn't sure at first but it really suits him now. I have loads of boys names that I love but can never settle on any girls ones at all!! Could be a problem!

Frizbe · 13/09/2005 19:37

Oh no, don't back dh up

munz · 13/09/2005 20:13

RP - I'm discussed I looked a that web site on sun night and it was £150 for the mulitpack £150,

now they want bloody £220 i'm not paying that much!!! grumbles off huffing and puffing - bloody cheek. knew I should have got them on sun - except my money doesn't clear till next week

good news thou poppers due 23rd sept

OP posts:
munz · 13/09/2005 20:16

ok panic over - that was euros - on sunday it was £! lol, i'll stick with her I think.

OP posts:
RosiePosie · 13/09/2005 20:31

lol, munz - yeah sorry I should have said, she's in Ireland and the site is in Euro's. Well, sometimes it's in euros and sometimes pounds - confusing eh?

munz · 14/09/2005 07:51

yes it is really - she could make up her mind! lol. so now i've decided on nippas but it's size one or two the ones to go for? misdee's being v pateint and helping me with them as I'm not sure which ones to get for the best - size one is to 18lb I think and size 2 is from 18lb.

OP posts:
RosiePosie · 14/09/2005 08:21

morning munz. Nippas are very easy to use once you get the hang of it. Size two's will be cheaper in the long run - they can be folded down to fit a smaller baby, they can basically be used as a birth to potty nappy. However, they will be bulky on a small baby ( this doesn't bother me, I've gone for size twos). The size one nappies are very cute though. I think if this was my first baby and I was planning on using the nappies on more than one baby I would go for the size ones to begin with! You'll still save tonnes of money in the long run. Re. the wraps - most people get on great with the tots wraps, but I don't for some reason - I use motherease ones. Hopefully they'll be fine for you though.

munz · 14/09/2005 08:52

well i'm thinking the size one multi pack from her, and then getting 5 of the bamboozles from smiley bots think she's only £7.99 incl P&P.

u don't need liners with the fluffles do u? I think that's gonna be this month's baby budget done (all bar £50 - hopefully DH's extra will come thru so we can get a few more bits and bobs)

off to catch up with everyone else now then!

OP posts:
munz · 14/09/2005 09:07

LL - i'm finding it goin quicker than the first 12 weeks. but still not fast enough! can't wait for the 20 week scan (about 4 weeks time ish)

friz - erm gonna go with likin flyn as well - althou DH doens't so that's thta one out. (he's now decided we're not agreed on pheobe - i'm really put out by that as it's the only girls name we've had that i've absolutly adored. With the crib the bottom part (which is build in padding) is going to be redone and my grandad's also going to make me a matress as he/uncle are upholsterers (own company) so that's that sorted out. (as long as they can find the right stuff if not will be a mothercare job)

SF - 22nd, that's a long time to wait - can't u go straight ot the m/w? will u get a 12 week scan?

RP - yes we'll definatly be using them for the 2nd child etc which is why i'm looking for the best quality ones I can find for money money (althou wouldn't mind going over it if the nappies will last) so think it's size ones then and nippas. of the fluffles.

hope everyone's OK today. DH has informed me he's not away for the 2nd scan but not sure if he can come so I think badgering will be required there, as I was planning on going shopping after we'd found out the sex.

OP posts:
desperatehousewife · 14/09/2005 09:43

Munz - i'm so excited about 20 week scan too - cannot wait to find out what we're having. Secretly hoping for a girl - not sure I can handle another boisterous boy....aaaargh!

munz · 14/09/2005 09:48

YAY someone to talk to - i'm soo bored at work!

lol, I want a girl now- only os I love pheobe - wonder if there's a boy variation? he he he. can't wait to see the bean again. been a bit worried as can't feel anything yet- symptoms did dry up - but sickness is back with a vengance today althou boy's - are they as bad for the terirble twos?

is any one else still feelin sick?

OP posts:
desperatehousewife · 14/09/2005 09:56

not feeling sick anymore (yay!) feel great actually. not so tired - feel quite blooming!

Boys go through terrible twos all their lives i think!

Off to take mine to a soft play place - the weather is so gloomy today....boo.

Speak later
x

Jackstini · 14/09/2005 09:59

Munz - I do like Phoebe - think you will be able to persuade DH. When will he know if he can make it to scan?
