Be careful what you wish for Munz....!!!!

Jackstini, my mate (who like me, always struggles with her weight) only put on 1 1/2 stone throughout whole of PG, the doctor said it was cos she wasn't drinking anymore, she used to have 1/2 bottle of wine a night, more at weekends.

Love Jacob and Joshua..DH didn't tho!

munz · 13/09/2005 09:38

not fussy on joshua, like william thou - dh not keen on it.

LL - I want big boobs and I cannot lie! he he he

OP posts:
poppyh · 13/09/2005 09:41

I like william, DH doesnt.LL, my DD has Rose as her middle name.
I actually prefer Rudy for a boy than a girl.
Like flower names at mo.But change my mind every week!

munz · 13/09/2005 09:42

I adore lilly mae (or mai) but DH absolutly hates it - besides may is my nans name which wouldn't look good as I don't want to be seen as favoutising.

OP posts:
poppyh · 13/09/2005 09:43

It is the same for me.i would love Esme Violet.
But DH really HATES Esme!

munz · 13/09/2005 09:45

must admit not too keen on it - but variation's good!

DH told me last night that he might not mae the 20 week scan - so I'm thinkin if he can't then i'll find out the sex, tell him that if it's X(the sex I know it is) then i'll pick if not he can!

OP posts:
poppyh · 13/09/2005 09:49

Good idea!!My DH isnt coming to next scan either so if I can find out the sex I might do same!!
Last time they couldnt tell the sex from my scan though as DD was hiding her bits!

munz · 13/09/2005 09:52

lol -must say i'm pied off if he can't come as this being the first and all - but he's been told by his Wr of a senior that as his first child he's not entitled to anything- not even the birth it's tough, i'm hoping this bloody camp will be cancelled - esp as he's got a poorly knee and it will be constant phys for 2 weeks - which he cna't do as he's not allowed.

OP posts:
poppyh · 13/09/2005 09:54

Munz,
Is he army?

munz · 13/09/2005 09:59

yep

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 13/09/2005 10:00

AAH, Munz, thats awful....but we'll virtually hold your hand anyway!
You won't even notice he's not there (unless he can make it)...it's a shame for your DH

poppyh · 13/09/2005 10:02

That must be tough.I must say im lucky with DH.hes an Ambulance Paramedic and they are very helpful regarding time off and paternity leave.
He must be entitled to leave when baby is born?

munz · 13/09/2005 10:03

lol, I know girls, it just pi**es me off that when I need him he's not there. and it's not his fault. but ho hum that's life I suppose - well life for us!

so back to big boobs!

OP posts:
munz · 13/09/2005 10:03

yep, thankfully 2 weeks paternity on full pay - then bac to work for a day then 2 weeks paid leave.

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 13/09/2005 10:04

Munz, I guarantee that by week 30 you won't be able to move for your boobs...!!!!

munz · 13/09/2005 10:06

lol,

so then who's thought of sleeping arrangements? cot/crib, and importantly do u really need a changing station???

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 13/09/2005 10:09

We will have baby in with us (moses basket) for first few weeks (was 8 weeks with DS) and then into cot in their own room (with monitor turned up so can hear eyelashes flutter like last time prob!), we were lucky as were given a moses basket. We did end up with a changing station (wanted drawers to match cot and changing station was only option) and have to say it has been fab...still use it with DS and as I have a bad back it has been a godsend!

munz · 13/09/2005 10:12

ooh right - might re shuffle the nursery then it's only 6x6 sq roughly, so far sofa bed in there and a stero on one side cot was going to go on the other - DH has been told that soothy music helps baby go to sleep so he's going to try it. We've got a cradle (swinging) till abotu 4 months - is that a reasonable age? it's a fmaily one which I had as a baby. so it's nice to use it.

OP posts:
RosiePosie · 13/09/2005 10:18

Baby in with us for goodness knows how long and then sharing with one of the other two ( no choice ). I've gone all out this time and got an Amby baby hammock. Never had a changing station, no plans to get one! I usually change on my lap, to be honest, especially once they get a bit wriggly.

We're off to buy our new car this weekend - no choice there either, as 3 car seats won't fit into our little Ford KA. I'm soooooo excited! Probably getting a citroen picasso as it's the cheapest mini MPV on the market.

Is anyone else having bad cravings? I did with ds but not with dd ( another reason why I suspect this one's a boy ). This morning I HAVE to have a tuna mayo sandwich, so I'm off out in a minute to buy some tuna.

Lizzylou · 13/09/2005 10:19

AAh, cradle sounds lovely, I really loved them when PG with DS but couldn't justify expense. DS was a big and very long (and squirmy) baby so he had to move into his cot at 8 weeks, you just have to play it by ear.
Music is good and does soothe babies, DS was soothed by the Dyson! I also used to play DS's mobile to my bump from about 25 weeks and he really responded to that music when he was a baby, he must have recognised it!

Lizzylou · 13/09/2005 10:20

RP I have been craving Tuna Mayo big style....yum yum...may have to go and get some too!

munz · 13/09/2005 10:28

rp - tuna and mayo sarnie! lol, last night was chocolate milk shake actually - or choccy milk!

hammock - that sounds rather intresting.

on the new car, i'd love an MPV - but there's just no way we can afford it - maybe with DH's 5 year money we might do.

lol@ the dyson LL - don't know what sort of music he's planning on playing but I shall leave him to it I think!

desperatehousewife · 13/09/2005 10:43

Hi everyone. Rosie, we've just part exchanged our Ford Focus for something a bit bigger - gone for a Ford Focus C-Max in the end (I wanted a Renault Scenic, but they were too expensive!). Have to say it's very good. It's one of the smaller MPVs - it's a 5 seater - may not be big enough for you though...?

Really depressing - went to M&S yesterday to have my boobs measured (noticed they were lying flat on my belly practically now....) and I've gone up a size (now 42dd...how grim is that?) My new bra is big enough to hold a weekly shop from Tescos. I can fit my entire head in one cup. My husband will definatley not find that sexy in any way. I wish, I wish I had smaller boobs. (grass is always greener eh?).

Just had appointment with a consultant in Obstetrics this morning. Did a wee test and there was protein in it. Can't believe it. I'm so scared of getting pre-eclampsia again. HOping it's just a minor infection. Will know in about a week.

Blood pressure though was perfect, which for me is amazing - have had hypertension since early 20s.

He was very reassuring when I told him I wanted elective c-section. He said I can demand whatever I want. (key hole laser surgery and a major tummy tuck and boob lift...???!!!)

newgirl · 13/09/2005 11:05

I want a tuna sandwich now too! I'm with the curvy ladies on this one - even though I'm not drinking I'm filling up on buns!!! had some very nice donuts at weekend that cheered me up !

dhw - that is good news about the elective - its so much better not having to fight for what you want! fingers crossed for the pre-eclampsia.

hey munz - can you take a friend to the scan? I went with a friend once and it was really fab! I was so lucky to go and she had some pics to show dh.

I like Esme - and I think its unusual - I don't know any round here - thats a good choice. We're on Polly and Tom although after the weekend just gone I guess I shouldn't really go down that route just yet!

off for sandwich!!!
