No results yet but I'm not stressing any more! Did feel yucky for a few days, feeling much better now. TBH I'm starting to lose my faith a bit in the medical profession-perhaps I'm just turning in to a grumpy old woman
I can't get over all these different nappies. I just went for cotton bottoms cos they do a laundry service & I'm lazy!

RosiePosie · 12/09/2005 10:29

Lol, I'm definately a grumpy old woman with no faith in the medical profession this time around. I'm lucky in that I had a straightforward homebirth last time and am planning the same. Not seeing any doctors and the MW visits me at home for all the antenatal appointments. The only time I'll go to the hospital, fingers crossed, will be the scans ( and bloods, if I decide to have them ).

Munz, 20 is plenty. I make do with about 15, but it's good to have too many than not enough. I wash every other day too, but I usually tumble mine, so they dry quicker. They don't half have some silly names though, don't they?!

catj · 12/09/2005 10:38

And I'm considered high risk cos of the c-section (only had it cos one was breech). Thought about insisting I had my MW appts at home-its not easy getting out with 2 2year olds. Might be pushing my luck at the mo cos we live just outside the surgery catchment area (but are moving back in oct).

Lizzylou · 12/09/2005 11:06

Hi all

Anchovies...glad to see you are back!
Piffle...I am 32 and no-one has expressed any concren, please try not to worry and also plenty of women get abnormal results from smears, sometimes just because they b*ggered up during the procedure or swabbing....I'd just keep a bit of distance between you and SIL...
RosiePosie...with DS last time (1st pg) I had Braxton HIcks very early on (about 18/19 weeks) then nothing until the last 4/5 weeks...
Mnz...never had leaky boobs at all until after the birth. My firned who recently got married at 6mths gone got them the morning of her wedding! I think it was due to all the excitement and she hasn't had it since!
Newgirl...keep resting up and swooning over CE!

Went to aquanatal on Friday and it was fab! Really good fun, loads of lovely ladies and a great relaxing break...highly recommend it!

Hope all are well xxx

Lizzylou · 12/09/2005 11:06

Must apologise over really bad typing!!!

desperatehousewife · 12/09/2005 15:21

munz, my boobs started leaking with DS1 really early - I was probably 5 months. I was utterly horrified by it!

Frizbe · 12/09/2005 19:30

Coor DHW, mine only started after the event as it were!
Munz don't worry about the braxton hicks, most people hardly notice them, certainly nothing like the real thing when it kicks in!
Hope all are ok today?? nothing much happening here....

munz · 13/09/2005 07:47

morning girls, how r u all today?

well went out last night - and woke up this morning feelin like I had a hang over - it is really that bad to get drunk off a sip of DH's larger and his fumes? (was on coke all night) but had the sip to celebrate the ahses! lol. good night thou.

quick Q - does anyone else have nose bleeds? i'm having them quite a lot (not full flow but sort of erm, in the nose (doesn't venture out iycwim) i've had them since b4 I found out I was PG - is it normal? they come and go, but have had the last one for the past two days - do u think I need to worry, or should I mention it to the m/w next tues?

OP posts:
poppyh · 13/09/2005 08:07

Morning Munz,
I would mention these nose bleeds to midwive although im sure everything fine.
So my DH has finally thought of some girls names and they are really horrid!!Check them out tell me what you think,
They are, Maggie, Rudy and Sky.
Esme it is then!!

munz · 13/09/2005 08:42

poppy - actually I like rudy and sky.

lol, dh doesn't thou which is why we're stuck on pheobe!

decided my maternity leave as well yesterday - YAY!!! 14 weeks till xmas, then 6 weeks till I go on mat leave in the new year - can't wait! (and we're coming into our quiet time - more MN me thinks! )

OP posts:
Jackstini · 13/09/2005 08:43

Poppy - don't know your surname so not sure how they go with it but Maggie would always remind me of Thatcher! Rudy is that little girl out the Cosby show. Not sure about Sky - I do know a Sky and she is really nice so maybe that affects my judgement on that one?
Munz - I have got same nose thingy too. Not coming out exactly but feel I have to blow and is usually blood in there. (sorry if TMI )
Is anyone else losing weight? I have dropped 10 lbs in last 6 weeks although definate bump/belly there

Lizzylou · 13/09/2005 08:46

Jackstini....lost weight???
Blimey, I have put on 10lbs and then some...!!!!
Lucky old you!

munz · 13/09/2005 08:50

god i've only put on 2lb so far - and was just thinking this morning i've got a bit or rounding but nothing really - only showing the tinest amout at 15 weeks

LL - did u ask the m/w about it at all?

OP posts:
poppyh · 13/09/2005 09:08

Dh says I look really fat, but I dont feel like ive put on much weight at all.
Jackstini, Im the same about Maggie, reminds me of Thatcher!!
Munz, I guess Rudy and Sky arent that bad!!I just dont think theyre very feminine!
We cant even think of a boys name we both like!
Oh well, plenty of time for all that anyway.
I know its premature, but im really looking forward to xmas.Hopefully be lovely and fat by then.HeHe!

Lizzylou · 13/09/2005 09:13

I know the reason why I've put on weight...eating too much! I always have to watch what I eat unless I want to be seriously huge (am a size 14/16 normally) so when I am pg, I just hit the fridge!!!
I am aiming to keep up the exercise, I went to Aquanatal, went for a 5mile walk on Sunday and swam for 40 mins yesterday...
Have to say my bump is small...tho my belly is not IYKWIM and my boobs are HUGE! No bras fit me and I look a bit jordanesque...DS has noticed and has started to kiss em!

munz · 13/09/2005 09:13

pop -ooh sky is I think as is summer if u're after that type of name.

our 'agreed' name in jacob - but tbh i'm not overly keen any more, and we're only really intrested in girls. (sure this is gonna be a girlie) roll on 4 weeks ish till I find out!

OP posts:
RosiePosie · 13/09/2005 09:15

I've put on about 8lbs, but half of that is the increase in my boob size, I'm sure. Definately showing more this time than two previous times. First pregnancy there was nothing to see until atleast 24 weeks, I don't think. I was desperate for a bump!

My ds has finally started school this week - it's been a long hard summer! And I'm looking forward to some peace and rest - or as much as dd will let me anyway. Atleast she can't talk yet. DS talks non stop from the moment he wakes to the moment he goes to sleep and it's so peaceful here without him, lol.

munz · 13/09/2005 09:16

everything's still fititng me - gonna run off inot the corner and demand my tummy gets bigger!

can't wait for xmas either, althou we're havin a lot of ifits at the mo - ie if it takes less than 5 mins to cook and is in the cupboard u can have it - ie toast chips etc... general crap! lol, poor beanie - DH recons that it's ok thou as hte bean's living off my supplies.

OP posts:
munz · 13/09/2005 09:17

lol@ rp - that's how I am! how old is DD?

OP posts:
RosiePosie · 13/09/2005 09:18

Lizzylou, I've got huge boobs too. Can't even shop at M&S anymore and my bump never overtakes my boobs, so I always look less pregnant than I am.

poppyh · 13/09/2005 09:18

We cant agree on any boys names either.I think its much easier to choose girls names.
My boobs are also huge and they really hurt.
Had to raid primark for big bras and big knickers!

RosiePosie · 13/09/2005 09:19

DD is two in November - she's a bit slow off the mark with the talking! She says mummy, daddy, byebye and No!

Lizzylou · 13/09/2005 09:22

We have finally...after weeks of arguing and gnawing at fingernails agreed our names...
Thea Rose (my Great grandmother was Rose and she was lovely)
Benedict John (Will be Ben everyday, my cousin is Benjamin and John was the name of my fave granddad who died 14 years ago)

Were getting concerned that there were so many Lily and Georges about....

BTW PoppyH, love the name Rudy

Jackstini · 13/09/2005 09:24

Munz - we are agreed on Jacob too, or possibly Joshua.
Think the reason I have lost weight is giving up alcohol Not that I am an alcoholic but a couple of bottles of wine per week must have had a few calories in. Also I have gone off so many things - never used to be a fussy eater before.
How expensive are maternity bras???!!! Boobs have only grown by 1 size so far but was in Mothercare on Sunday so had a look. Bit more than the fiver I usually pay at Asda & Tesco!

RosiePosie · 13/09/2005 09:25

We think it's Francis for a boy and Hannah for a girl. I'm very fickle when it comes to names though. I thought Rudy was a boys name.
