Ta v muchly

Will have to wait to get our rent sorted out first. Didn't she swap her double urban detour for that one? Or was that someone totally different?? lol I could be going mad...

I forgot to take DS for his MMR this morning so I'm not quite with it at the mo!!

desperatehousewife · 06/09/2005 16:28

oooh am liking the look of the Zooper (never heard of it before!) just had a look on John lewis website. Or the Maclaren Quest is the lightest that can be used from 3 months. With a c-section scar though maybe I'll need one from birth rather than papoose....god, can't remember how it was last time round....painful i think!

munz · 06/09/2005 16:40

well DH want's a 3 wheeler travel system - I think they will be easier to manage esp if bean falls asleep in the car.

SF - glad u got the buggy - don't think she swopped it, she bought it but then it was too big.

swiperfox · 06/09/2005 16:53

Thanks Munz Least thats one thing sorted!! Will just have to keep it quiet from dp til we're back on our feet or i can see an argument!!

DHW I tried to use a carrier with ds last year after my c/s and i think it was comfortable from about 6 weeks-ish. But that was because we only had one pram and i could only get the fold up one on the bus so had no choice but to carry him!!

swiperfox · 06/09/2005 16:54

There are some really wierd and wonderful prams/buggies around at the mo!!

munz · 06/09/2005 16:56

init just sw - do u mean carrier as in the one on the tummy - I did fancy gettin one of those as well, just for walkin about with - are they worht the additional money as we'd also have the pram. I'm slowly building things up (all the little stuff)

RosiePosie · 06/09/2005 17:35

DHW - I've got a Zooper - they are a fabulous make, really well made and not too expensive, there are some great deals on them on eBay sometimes. The best pushchair I've ever had. I was seriously considering the Zooper Shopper, with the toddler seat, until I got seduced by the P&T's!

swiperfox · 06/09/2005 17:40

yep i've got a tomy freestyle carrier which goes on your front. It was really handy for the first few months - esp coz i don't drive so i could stick dd in the pram and go into town with them both. He got heavy quick though and was out of it by the time he was 6 months because it was hard work!! dp liked it though - he always wanted to have a go instead of me lol

poppyh · 06/09/2005 17:51

I love phil and teds too.Might opt for a zooper as i cant afford a p and t!
I had a pliko before and HATED it.So heavy and not very easy to steer.(Especially with c section scar.)

catj · 06/09/2005 17:53

Does anyone know if its possible to put a buggy board on a double buggy? The twins will be 2yrs 9mths by march & I can't justify a new pushchair cos my sister & I have at least 6 between us including 3 doubles! Don't know whether to use a single and make them take it in turns to walk/use buggy board but I've got visions of ending up in a crumpled heap on the floor cos I've tripped over one of them!!!(Don't do carriers cos of my back)
Btw I use cotton bottoms laundry service cos I couldn't face extra washing but wanted to use real nappies.

desperatehousewife · 06/09/2005 18:09

catj - you have twins how old are they?

catj · 06/09/2005 18:13

They were 2 on 20th june. Every one thinks I'm mad 4 having another baby but although it's not planned I did really want more!! Also have a 10yo-all girls.

desperatehousewife · 06/09/2005 18:24

wow, I take my hat off to you - don't think you're mad at all - just brave!

Frizbe · 06/09/2005 19:31

Catj you can get a 3up buggy, which is single sized you know! loads easier for getting around the shops, you may have to search online for it tho, as most shops don't keep it as a stock item...

I sold on the E3, so better get saving me thinks! just for ease of getting it around the shops!

Jackstini I'm currently in Derbyshire! Ripley, so not far from Notts!! you should come to our next meet up if your available (when ever that is?)

Well girls I've just felt bump kick properly for the 1st time!! so 15 weeks and a few days for me!! in fact currently getting quite a few belts someone must be looking lively in there

desperatehousewife · 06/09/2005 19:56

oh frizbe that is sooooo exciting! I didn't feel DS1 move until i was about 20 weeks or maybe a bit more.

How lovely.

Lizzylou · 07/09/2005 09:11

Frizbe, feeling the baby move...how wonderful!
I had thought that I had felt "flutterings" and I did get a funny prod (I was twisting at the time and thought DS had done it, but when I looked around he wasn't there!) but thought it was too early! I was 19 weeks with Ds but I know it's supposed to be earlier the 2nd time around!

munz · 07/09/2005 09:19

morning girls,

Friz - oooh how exciting for u hopefully won't be long be we're all feeling flutters. how far was it when u felt ur first?

cat - I agree with DHW u're v brave with twins.

pop - P&T/Zooper -what are they then?

SF - I think my DH would as well once he see it, for now thou he doens't want me to get one - thinks they're a waste of money - althou he's already said he's going to be pushing the pram around town when we're out - I won' get a look in on the w/e's!

another on goin debat we're having - baby bath - do u get one or not? I'm with the small washin up bowl, then into the big bath - what do u guys think? DH wants the baby bath.

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 07/09/2005 09:28

Hi Munz

We did get a baby bath and used it, but I know lots of people don't and they are awkward to store..we went straight then to "big bath" and then used a "bath chair" which was great when Harry got to around 4/5mths...
Instead of a baby bath you can get those holders/slings that support the newborns whilst you wash??? I can't explain them very well!
TBH I hated bathing Harry when he was a newborn, was so scared I'd drop him when he was all slippery and wet! Those towels with the hoods are fab...deffo worth it!
Hope someone has better ideas for you!

munz · 07/09/2005 09:30

i've got some of those from nutty already, I was thinking of either bathing when we're in there, or failing that a bowl/the sink but DH is quite firm he wants a baby bath - how do u manage to carry it with the water in/ do u jug the water in and out of it?

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 07/09/2005 09:30

I put the baby bath in the big bath and filled it up from the taps...

munz · 07/09/2005 09:31

well that makes sence. hmm, there's just so much to get is'nt there - does anyone know of anywhere that does a list so we can tick it off as I get it as we're buying bits and bobs as we go.

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 07/09/2005 09:33

Mothercare have one in the fornt of the catalogue and also the Parentcraft class that I went to did give something out...but that is quite late on in pregnancy...Doesn't the Bounty book/Emmas Diary have something in???
