Also meant to add that those in the area, there's an NCT Nearly New Sale on Sat 17/9 in Aldershot.

george32 · 06/09/2005 13:09

I saw that this morning too Scully. Not that it will make any difference to anyone. It might help if they added pregnant women to the priority seat sign though.

Hmmm, trying to work out how to put my feet up!!!
Drinking lots of water & trying to walk round a bit more today. Might have to get used to looking like the michelin man every evening.

scully · 06/09/2005 13:34

true george, about the seats......
does exercise help swelling, going for a walk at lunch?

george32 · 06/09/2005 13:55

Tried walking to the shop & back but it takes me ages because I'm creaking like a 90 year old!!

I sat with my feet up on a chair for a bit and I keep wriggling my feet & legs.
Good reason to work from home tomorrow I think!

DQ, how are the flapjacks? I'd just managed to get over my obsession with them til you mentioned them.

Nemo1977 · 06/09/2005 14:16

hi all
not been on as have been out to mw and to order a carpet for ds room...woo hoo.

Mw went well she is also supportive of what cpn said about me getting induced early due to the depression and needing to go back on meds. Also got a referral to physio again due to the dreaded spd...its getting too bad now where I cant walk much without wanting to cry and feeling physically split in half...again contributes to feeling like rubbish. Just waiting for my uncle to come and finish plastering in ds bedroom to be then dh can do painting and papering and we can order furniture..getting excited now as it means things are moving instead of weird limbo of last few weeks.

you lot chat too much for me to remember apart from

arghhhhhhhh sh to ur stupid gp.
george...when i swelled lots wiht adam i bought a refreshing leg spray frokm boots and used to put my feet on the desk for about 5 mins every hour to keep swelling down...it is essential and if anyone says anything tell them to get stuffed.

sweetheart · 06/09/2005 14:18

ohhhhhh!!! Just been out for a 2 course lunch with work - I'm stuffed and feeling really uncomfy. I need to lay on my sofa in my joggers!!!!

Hope your all well today.

sweetheart · 06/09/2005 14:21

ohhh I have a little bottle of foot and leg reviver stuff - it's by Avent, it came in this pack

It free to anyone that wants it - I'm not using it!!!

ei23mummy · 06/09/2005 14:52

boo to your g.p s/h iv got a locum one at the mo who looks younger than me an hasnt got a clue about meds for uti's in pgy!! fool gave me some a'b's that can damage the babys kidney function for life- he highly recommended them as a weel known and used a'b for pg women!! idiot! i read up about them before going the chemist and hes refused to change my prescription!! iv gotta go the emergency assessment unit at the womens hosp later so they can get me some new pills!! g.p's are useless!! its now in the guidelines that you should see your own g.p within 48 hours esp if its an emergency! if that fails ring the assessment unit at the hosp where you get your a/n care and they should be able to sort you out!!
hi to everyone else aswell!! how is everyone?
george i got this really nice foot and leg cream from miriam stoppard's range of pamper products for body and bump!! they sell it in boots etc it really helped with my puffiness on my ankles! its only cheap and shes got a website aswell!(her bubble bath is really nice aswell!)

sweetheart · 06/09/2005 15:17

ei - what would I do without you such a mind of usefull knowledge!!!!

It's good to know there is someone that gp's are answerable to!!!

george32 · 06/09/2005 16:01

Thanks for the advice everyone. Nemo, I've been following yours and bunging them on the desk.

Sweetheart, I'd love your leg reviver is you want to throw it someones way. Let me know what I owe you for postage. Thanks, in anticipation of happy legs!!

Nemo, your SPD sounds dreadful. I don't know how you are coping with your bump & your DS too. It must be so painful. Hang on in there. When are they likely to induce you?

Ei, not your GP too. What is it with them at the moment?

TC, nice to see you dropping in by the way. Come back soon won't you.

Still no news from Minnie??

Nemo1977 · 06/09/2005 16:05

ei what an idiot that locum was...good job womens is there although be warned my friend had a 3hr wait there on sat and she said there were people in labour in the waiting room...eek

George they are talking about a week or two early..mw also supports the idea so just got to convince the consultant now...lol

sweetheart · 06/09/2005 16:06

george - glad it's going to a good home I've got your address from the secret stork list so I'll send it off tomorrow. Don't worry about the postage - I'll stick it in with works post - ssssshhhhhh don't tell anyone

novadandypowder · 06/09/2005 17:48

Hello, just crashing from the nov. thread.

I've been given this by someone who doesn't know me very well. It's not my taste, and no-one on nov. wants it, so I wondered if any of you ladies wants it? It's free to a good home, you'll just need to CAT me your address. I usually give stuff away to charity shops, but thought I'd try someone on here first, as we're all about to have babies

bonkerz · 06/09/2005 17:55

Hi girls,

Nova thats lovely! O THOUGHTFUL! cAN I HAVE IT PLEASE???? Will CAT my address. How much??

bonkerz · 06/09/2005 18:06

Anyway, Hi girls,

Nemo, glad midwife went well and you are heading for an early december baby! I really hope your physiotherepist is a hunky man!! Will do wonders for your well being!
SH, WHY is it that we have to fight for our rights within the NHS, really wish i could afford to go private sometimes and its a shame that its the odd few that let us down! My surgery is a nightmare as well and i have only seem MY gp twice in 3 years cos she is never available!
George, glad to hear im not the only one who is walking like an oap! My Dh keeps taking the mickey cos i walk with my hands in the small of my back due to bad bad aache and shoulder blade pain!
Well my body is really screaming at me now to slow down! Im getting cramping pains in my tummy (assume they are braxton hicks) whenever i walk which can be embarrasing! Pushing the double buggy with my mindees isnt helping! My back aches all the time and im finding it uncomfortable to sit upright due to Alex now stretching across what was my waist! Dh has finally agreed to giving me the money for the buggy! he can be such an arse sometimes! Still feeling low but im coming through i think. My tummy feels like its stretched to its limit at the moment, i just feel very heavy and bloated! Not long till November though i suppose! Ok enough rambling.

ei23mummy · 06/09/2005 20:54

hi again, i didnt end up having to go to the womens as the midwife foned through to the locum g.p and had a go at him for inappropriate prescribing and told him to write me up a new prescription for a'b's that i could safely take!! what a marvel!! he wasnt too happy with that but who cares!! at least he wont be givin those a'b's out to any other pg women who might not speak up about their concerns!!
i think most of us are now havin back pain an stuff!! mine was ok up til today when i felt the bub shift an now its killin me- i think its gone back-to-back now so comfy for the bub not so much for poor old me!!!
other than the various sore backs, swollen ankles, depressive moments, constipation and people tellin me iv got a big fat arse i feel great how about everyone else?? hehe im such a ray of sunshine sometimes!!

novadandypowder · 06/09/2005 21:19

bonkerz, there's no charge, just want it to go to a good home . I'll get it posted out to you, if not tomorrow, then def. on thursday.

I don't know anyone who's having a baby soon, so this seemed like the best place to offer it up.

Enjoy

bonkerz · 06/09/2005 21:21

Thank you so much and im sure my baby girl will love it!!

george32 · 07/09/2005 07:11

Sweetheart you are, well, a sweetheart. Thankyou so much.

Bonkerz, that's me too...exactly the same funny cramping pains when I walk.

I so have to stop moaning!! It is kind of theraputic though. It makes me a lot happier to have a good whinge about how rubbish I feel.
Do these aches & pains get any better as time goes on or should I start getting used to them?

dramaqueen72 · 07/09/2005 09:08

george, no, come here and moan, its nice to compare with each other about whos falling apart first!
and actually, the last few weeks are awful fro back pains/side pains/generally falling apart pains, so yep, get used to them!

Nemo1977 · 07/09/2005 09:18

lol george...as Dq says they get worse as baby gets bigger..sigh

Morning all
not a lot going on here apart from being excited that carpet for ds room is ordered, plastering done and half painting...dh will finish painting on next day off then he will paper....ooo its soooooooooo exciting..am i sad...lol

george32 · 07/09/2005 09:34

Think I'll be bed ridden by Dec then (or will that be painful too?)

I completely understand your excitement Nemo, DP (who doesn't do DIY!!) has just finished sanding & varnishing our bedroom floor, we bought a new bed which went up last night & it is beautiful. I was so excited to be moving back in!!

Can't wait to start doing the next bedroom now...

That's ridiculous sh, since when did you have to run through symptons just to get past the receptionist. I would ring back and demand an appt or to talk to the doctor. unless she is doing a medical degree part time, she's in no position to decide who should see a doctor when...grrr for you!
Makes me appreciate my surgery even more - they don't have an appt system, but are open morning and evening & you turn up and wait your turn. I've never waited longer than 20min and my reason for being there is never questioned. & I have the choice of 3 doctors to see, so I rotate who I see, to get different opinions on things.
Coming from Australia, where gp surgeries are predominantly private, it's not a perfect system, but you do generally get to see a doctor when you're ill, not several days later. But private insurance there covers a lot more than it does here, so the system here would need a complete overhaul if they were ever to rely on a private system more.
Anyway, I'll hop off my soapbox now and have a cup of tea!

george32 · 07/09/2005 12:22

Quiet on here today! Have I scared everyone off with my moaning??

SH, I'm with you on wanting a trip to the pub. Oh, to to be blind drunk again! I feel like I've been tee-total forever.
How nice is it being at home though? No aching back or cramping tummy so far tody.

How is your DD now SH?
