george32 · 05/09/2005 16:38

OMG , how do you guys know all this already? Am I really behind?

george32 · 05/09/2005 16:40

(I've given up on work for the day, can you tell?)

sweetheart · 05/09/2005 16:41

oh blimey expat - poor you. That is the thing I am dreading about the last 5/6 weeks!!! I remember it feeling like I'd been in a car crash my ribs hurt so much.

Right I'm off to my Dr appt - see you all later.

dramaqueen72 · 05/09/2005 16:43

relax george, mines still changing positions every night
and you can feel and try and work it out bums are usually easy to find/work out as they tend to screw their legs under them and stick them out.......so large firm round area is a cute bottom! midwife will help you recognise parts if you ask her, as they get bigger its easier to do. i have feet in my lower left side today.last night it was further up!

george32 · 05/09/2005 16:48

I'm still amazed by it kicking & having a twitching tummy, hadn't even thought about trying to work out where it was. Think I'll have to have a poke tonight.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is cephalic?

ninah · 05/09/2005 16:50

mine has an arse the size of Russia then

dramaqueen72 · 05/09/2005 16:52

LOL!

dramaqueen72 · 05/09/2005 16:54

cephalic or ceph will be sometimes seen on your ntoes too george, means head or 'of the head' usually in relation to head first position.

Nemo1977 · 05/09/2005 16:54

george i only know because baby only kicks at either sides by my hips and if i feel i cant actually feel any solid baby bits which means back to back breech baby...but ds was exactly the same.

dramaqueen72 · 05/09/2005 16:54

on your notes I meant!

ninah · 05/09/2005 16:56

off to get birthday boy now

dramaqueen72 · 05/09/2005 16:56

my midwife showed dh how to feel the head -by quite firmly placing thumb and finger over it and kinda shaking it gently when it was head down LOW. it really hurt! dh did it once after that and i nearly linched him.

ei23mummy · 05/09/2005 17:33

iv been feelin a lot of kicks really low down like its tryin to get out early!! iykwim!
it feels really weird an not particularly nice! it seems to be like that all day an then high up at night! so still turnin round! george, if your still gettin back pain in work the occ. therapy dept should by law provide you with an orthopaedic chair to help ease it. jus ask yor boss an see what they say!

ei23mummy · 05/09/2005 17:35

sorry i meant occ. health!!

sweetheart · 05/09/2005 21:02

Going to the Dr was a waste of time - I didn't see my normal Dr. The one I saw said there are things he can prescribe but he'd not going to. To try steam inhalation and if it gets worse or I can't cope to go and see my GP. I would have if he had any bloody appointments

I said it was worse with excercise and he jumped down my throat - telling me now is an important time and I should be taking it easy. Asked me what my mother would think?!?!?!?

I came out just about ready to cry. Dh says I should phone and complain!!! I said it's not worth it.

dramaqueen72 · 05/09/2005 22:39

s/h it Is worth it. I changed our dr simply beccause of terrible attitude from the receptionists and constant belittling. (we now are part of the worlds lovely surgery, literally 3 rds away from the awful one!) no dr should make you feel like that! DEMAND am appointment with your GP by insisting over the phone he sees you, and write and complain about the appalling way you were spoke too this time. honestly some GP/surgeries think they are so bloody important they can do as they please. they cant. I'm really sorry you feel bad on top of poorly. huge hugs to you hun, have a very large hot chocolate from me.

george32 · 06/09/2005 08:39

Morning to everyone.
Sweetheart, that doctor sounds terrible. I would do as DQ suggests & make an appointment with your own GP as soon as you can.
I know at my surgery the GPs really vary so I will only see mine now.
DQ, I have mailed you, yummy to the hot chocolate
Thanks for the suggestion Ei, I will see how I get on today & then have a word if it is no better.
Anyone got any suggestions for really puffy legs? They were huge when I got home last night so lay with them in the air but no joy. (I sound so appealing with all these complaints )

Thomcat · 06/09/2005 08:53

Hi girls, just wanted to pop on and say hi.
I'm so busy at the moment that I'm not here loads but didn't want you to think I've forgotten you.
All good here, thinking of you all and speak soon, ish,
TC xx

sweetheart · 06/09/2005 09:33

ahhhh thanks ladies. I'm feeling better today, think I was a bit emotional yesterday - what with problems with dd and feeling a bit unwell.

I've got some tablets left over from the last time I had this so I'm just going to take them.

As for being told to take it easy - I think I know my own body better than a Dr I've never met before so I'm going to ignore his comments about my excercise and do what I think is right.

DQ - You know me so well - choc cake is my answer to every problem

ninah · 06/09/2005 09:35

what a patronising old gizzard sh! what is he, a locum? insist on another appt with your own GP and make sure they know what a waste of everyone's time the one yesterday was!

sweetheart · 06/09/2005 09:37

no, he wasn't a locum. My dh saw him a few months ago. As soon as I got home I said that Dr's a waste of time. Dh said which one? As soon as I said his name he said - Oh that tosser!! Guess I'm not the only one eh.

ebbie22 · 06/09/2005 10:22

YOU LOT COULD CHAT FOR ENGLAND AND YOUR SUPPOSE TO BE WORKING[GRIN][WINK],WHERES I AMAT HOME AND TAKES ME ALL MY SPARE TIME JUST TO CATCH UP..LOL

dramaqueen72 · 06/09/2005 11:00

morning all
am SO tired this time of day (yes already) i could fall asleep right now.........really mustnt tho, have flapjacks to bake and a kitchen to tidy. but blimey i feel shattered!
george, puffy legs? drink more water, and youre right, raise them higher than your heart. which should be really easy at work/on tube!!
s/h chocolate in some form is my answer to everything and it helps too. poss I need chocolate flapjacks this morning????

expatinscotland · 06/09/2005 11:03

I get puffy feet and ankles if I stand too much. Actually, my feet hurt A LOT! I'm a slender person by nature and I've had 4 surgeries on my knees, so the extra weight is hard to take.

Try to take breaks, george.

Drink lots of water.

Put feet up.

Get one of those 'dynaband' things to exercise the feet and ankles.

scully · 06/09/2005 11:45

I recommend a small packet of Mcvities mini chocolate chip cookies. Our vending machines sell them and they are perfect with a cup of tea at 11am
Those of you in London & surrounds, did you see the article in the Metro this morning about why it's important to offer your seat to pregnant women? I'm probably offered a seat about 70% of the time, but it's always when you really need it that you are suddenly made of glass.....
