May Babies 2006

I thought I'd start a due May 2006 club even though its very early in the month for it.

My stats are

ME: 31
DH: 30
DD: 3 next week!
Next DB due: May 1st (4 weeks pregnant today!)

Just been to the docs to get it all confirmed and seeing the midwife tomorrow. Look forward to more of you joining me as the month progresses!

Actually, I expect to have an elective section after an emergency one with DD so db will probably be born at the end of April. But like the idea of a May thread nonetheless!

Morning All!!
First,
Welcome Sniff
Thanks for the kind thoughts Shhhh
Hockeymum - are you feeling any better or are you still redecorating your walls??!!
Cori- ECG??!! Did the mw give any explanation for her concerns and how do you feel today?
Mandymoo- some people don't know when to keep their mouths' firmly shut - why are you worried about DH?
Bouj - by roundup do you mean like a list of who's due when? I don't mind having a bash at it.

All that sounds like 40 questions. Sorry. Anyway for my little update-
Went to GP yesterday to announce Pgy expecting a slightly raised eyebrow (age) and he just said "Good!" filled in forms, said I could have a nuchal scan at about 12 weeks and apart from that get on with it and just walk don't run down stairs. Glad I am registered in officialdom as pg now but it still seems like a long wait till anything happens. Feeling fine, no sickness a few AF style aches and a bit tired but other than that fine.

hockeymum · 22/09/2005 10:09

Ooh well done little miss piggy glad someone will have a go at a roundup I was thinking I might have to do it today! What a star!

Still really sick. Have actually been off sick from work last 2 evenings because I just cant function to talk to anyone without throwing up let alone stand on a customer service desk helping people bring back off food and minging stuff! The way I see it is that I really need to work my 16 hours between weeks 16 and 26 in order to qualify for SMP but until then I can cope with a bit less cash and take it a bit easier.

DH is being great I just cant bear to cook for him and dd let alone eat anything myself so he has taken over that and I'm now responsible for the bedtime routine, a fair swap really but nice of him nevertheless. Not sure how I will cope when he goes to Korea for work for the whole of October but we'll tackle that when we come to it.

I had good news at my booking appt with my midwife on Monday that I will probably have no problem requesting an elective section this time around which will be infinitely preferable to the nightmare I had with dd. Still have to wait for my 12 week scan to see consultant to confirm that but she did say that when they suspect pelvic disproportion first time around they usually let you choose a trial of labour or an elective. No contest for me - an elective it will be.

Hope you are all coping well with the early symptoms. Oh yes just remembered I wanted to say to all you really early ones dont worry if your symptoms go away a bit for a day or two, mine did between 4-6 weeks every couple of days but came back with avengence after that. It doesn't necessarily mean bad news if you feel fine, it just makes you lucky, enjoy those days when you can and eat lots of vitamin rich food!

Littlemisspiggy,
I dont think it is as worrying as it sounds. The MW just said to ask for one to check everything is OK.I am sure it is too, but better to be safe.
My only concern is that I am having them at this early stage, they are usually more common in later pregnancy.

crumpet · 22/09/2005 10:56

Gosh there are so many on here now I'd better join the team if I may. Think due May 7th (same as helsi). I'm 36, dd 3 in January. GP not particularly interested until I'm at least 10 weeks! No NHS 12 week scans offered, so it looks like we'll have to stump up to go privately. Not feeling too bad so far, had a few rough days, but generally just eating for England.

Carameli · 22/09/2005 12:41

Hello, just wanted to add me to the growing list here. I am due 20th May.
Me-35 dh-40 and dd1 2.

been really hormonal recently, feeling so angry with dh and dd about the silliest of things, then in tears the next. Has anyone else felt like this.
I never felt anything like this with dd.

lovecloud · 22/09/2005 14:04

Well done for that littlemisspiggy - we needed that done

just had jacket potato, cheese and beans and i feel so sick.

i just want to sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

i just cant get over how i feel this time, with dd1 it was so much easier - wonder what makes morning sickness so bad, does it mean i am not eating healthy enough?

Enid · 22/09/2005 14:11

what can I eat and cook that is easy and healthy???

have gone off veg, am living on lucozade and spicy noodles.

Feel vile in the morning and have horrible cold sore.

Have dating scan next week.

littlemisspiggy · 22/09/2005 14:18

Welcome crumpet and carameli! _ I'll update the list every now and again.
I had roast pork, roast potatoes, veg, gravy and cheese and crackers (work canteen) and I could eat it all over again. I think its restlessness/boredom more than anything else. Should be working but can't put my mind to anything at the moment. Anyone else feel like that?
How about spaghetti bolognese? pasta with pesto sauce and cherry tomatoes? nutella sandwich? - sorry, you said healthy...

littlemisspiggy · 22/09/2005 14:21

Sorry lovecloud don't think there's any easy reason for morning sickness. Someone on another thread said "sea bands" from Boots (£8) helped. I'm not sure what they are. Sounds like some sort of bracelet. Anyone?

cori · 22/09/2005 15:11

I dont think morning sickness has anything to do with not eating well. In my last pregnancy I actually went off all vegetables, salad etc. Dont feel that way this time though.
The sea bands from boots are for travel sickness and work on Acupressure points. Are meant to work quite well.

My 'due' date is 4th of May, by the way.

inkyminky · 22/09/2005 15:17

Lovecload mentioned SeaBands, are they the same as the copper arthritic bangles? not sure.

Am living off of a diet of Breadsticks and any dips possible in my fridge to go with them.Houmous, Gaucamole, cottage cheese & rather disturbingly Condensed Milk, yummy

Hope everyone's doing well today, am really struggling with the baby smells from DS (5 months)especially his mushy food and stinky nappies, need that stuff they put under their noses in the Murder Movies.

crumpet · 22/09/2005 15:26

Enid, what about fooling your body with the toddler trick of whizzing veggies into a tomato sauce for pasta/cottage pies/sauce for fish etc? (maybe won't work if you are the person who actually has to make it though)

alternatively chili sardines on toast work for me at the moment...

GrygielMM · 22/09/2005 15:43

Girls for sea bands see lovecloud's message dated 21 September. It worked for her maybe it will work for all of us feeling rough.
I had a fairly good week, with losts of nausea but no sickies (thanks God). Am eating less and less healthy like most of you and get cravings for chips with mayonnaise which I never ate before.

Littlemisspiggy, I am just like you - healthy morning and midday but in the afternoon I go for the most hideous and unhealthy food combinations. I hope it stops soon. Still had no chocolate or pastries as they put me off...

I am still waiting for a letter from the hospital confirming my booking in appointment. Why does it take them so long? I will be 8 weeks tomorrow and cannot wait for my nuchal scan.

Carameli · 22/09/2005 15:48

I used the Seabands last time and found them great. They are grey little elasticated bands with a plastic thing sewn into them.
I had all day sickness last time so wore them constantly and they really helped me.

hockeymum · 22/09/2005 15:51

Thanks littlemisspiggy for the list!

seabands - tried them all week and have had my worst week of throwing up. Not working for me then although other people have found them useful, at £8 it's worth a shot though!

sniff · 22/09/2005 19:43

Hello all I feel really sick this time around to one thing I am worried about I seem to have quite a large stomach already not fitting into jeans is this normal for your third

Mandymoo · 22/09/2005 22:47

Littlemisspiggy - i am due around 01/05/06

Bouj · 23/09/2005 01:47

Aw, Gee thanks littlemisspiggy - how cheeky of me when I've not put my due date up! According to scan, am due 5th May (though according to LMP am due 29th April - like to say I am 9 weeks rather than 8!!) That is a lot of babies. Am I the only one not in the UK? I am feeling so sick today, thought the worst had passed, but apparently not. Still really want some crisps though..

helsi · 23/09/2005 07:06

I thought my threads were being ignored - this now confirms it I've even been missed off the list

PotPourri · 23/09/2005 09:47

Hi all. I am very pleased to be joining you after testing yesterday and getting the little plus sign!. Only symptoms so far are a heightened sense of smell, shattered and feel sick when I smell coffee and alcohol. The sickness is in the post though.

My stats:
Me - 28
DH - 29
DD - 9 months
My expected due date 24 May 2006. However DD was 16 days late and just did not want to come out, so probably June!!

Nice to 'meet' you all.

crumpet · 23/09/2005 09:52

? Helsi? You're 7th on the list - which is how I knew I'm due the same date as you...!

alicats · 23/09/2005 13:51

Hello everyone, after getting the line at least 3 times now and going to the docs, I'm still quite shocked about it all and very worried at the same time, anyway here are my Stats

Me 33 this year
Husband 34 this year
DD 2 and nearly 4 months

I'm feeling very nausous all the time and can only eat very plain stuff at the moment, plus I received a blow to my stochach 2 weeks ago and they wouldn't give me a scan so I am very apprehensive as I keep getting twinges especially at the top of my stomache all the time.

Enough of me, hope you don't mind me joining all of you May due ladies. Congrats to you all & I hope you aren't feeling too bad.

Alicats x
PS Love the ms smiley

Mandymoo · 23/09/2005 15:35

Just had my booking in appointment with the midwife - what is it with 2nd pregnancies (or 3rd or 4th..............). Midwives just dont seem to give two hoots!!

Anyway, should be having my 12 weeks scan appointment through within the next 2 weeks and then i go back to see her in November for my blood tests.

Feeling tired today and can no longer conceal my bump (even tho i am only 8/9 weeks!!). DH taking me and DD out for tea tonight so at least i dont have to worry about cooking later!!

Hope all you ladies are doing ok - its nearly the weekend!!!!!!!!!! XXXX

littlemisspiggy · 23/09/2005 15:47
