I thought I'd start a due May 2006 club even though its very early in the month for it.

My stats are

ME: 31
DH: 30
DD: 3 next week!
Next DB due: May 1st (4 weeks pregnant today!)

Just been to the docs to get it all confirmed and seeing the midwife tomorrow. Look forward to more of you joining me as the month progresses!

Actually, I expect to have an elective section after an emergency one with DD so db will probably be born at the end of April. But like the idea of a May thread nonetheless!

had my 20 week scan on tuesday. All was well, we didn't ask what sex it was but dh thought he saw boys bits... i thought it was a placenta,... therefore a girl!!! ones of is correct!

littlemisspiggy · 22/12/2005 11:10

Incubator,
I think your DH is right about the cats. We have two cats and my DH and I think they are sensitive to it. With this pregnancy and the first they have got more 'clingy' to me. Usually if one is sitting next to me or snuggled up to me the other one won't bother but now they both try to pile up close!

thebecster · 22/12/2005 13:13

Hearing about everyone's scans is making me very impatient for mine - it's on Jan 12th. Just can't wait to see my baby again, and I'm dying to know if it's a boy or a girl, and to know whether they're alright.

In the meantime I'm heading up to my M & D for a very relaxed Xmas of being thoroughly spoilt. My Dad's a doctor so we're all going to listen to the baby's heartbeat which will be reassuring anyway!
Hope everyone stays well over the holidays & wishing you all a very happy time.

HandbagAddiction · 22/12/2005 13:15

Becster - I know what you mean - my next scan is not until January 16th when I'll be 21 weeks and I'm desparate to get there! The good thing is that I'm now getting lots of movement and very frequently too so at least I'm a bit more convinced that I do actually have a baby growing!!

supersonic · 22/12/2005 15:11

Just thought i would let you know I had my second scan this week (after finding bright marks on my babys liver on Monday) and the consultatn said he has only seen it 5 times but these have all been absolutely fine and there is no reason for them so I have antoher scan at 32 weeks and a visit to the consultant and someone else and am just wiating to for my blood results back to confirm I do not have a 'severe infection' I feel sooooooooo relieved.
Now I feel slightly mroe confident about the whole rpenancy thing again I wondered if anyone coudl recommend really nice under bump materniyt jeans other than Next as I am nto impressed with these - they are just not the colour or style I woudl noramlly wear - when pregannt I seem to turn into a frump and its quite depressing!

HandbagAddiction · 22/12/2005 15:56

Supersonic - so glad to hear that your second scan proved to be reassuring. Good news and hopefully you can relax over Christmas now!

Meesage in Travel now - have a good holiday!

lovecloud · 23/12/2005 14:30

Hello Supersonic - topshop jeans all the way

They have a maternity shop in Oxford Street London, or you can order online.

Maternity jeans all so hideous. I was given about five pairs from friends all from Blloming Marvellous, MOthercare etc and they are dodgy looking and extremly, so frumpy! Just because I am pregnant I did not want to change the style of clothes I wear.

Topshop jeans fit really well under bump (not sure if you like that), just buy the size you would normally wear. They have casual loose fitting jeans or tighter smarter straight leg in different shades. They cost £40.

If you want to hide your belly and keep it warm they sell these tops to hide your bump under tops - kind of like a boobtube but fits over your belly.

Hi guys - just survived Xmas - so pleased that everyone has now gone home and I have a few days peace with DH and DS. Hockey - was really pleased to hear you were having a boy even though you thought you might be upset. I think sometimes we get dreams to reinforce the way we feel. i.e. you dream that someone you just had an arguement with dies - hence you feel bad in the morning and make up. Same for your wierd baby boy dream - you woke up realising that it wouldn't be that bad if they told you it was a boy and hence you body prepared you for it. Please feel free to ignore my theories!
Anyway - I have my scan next week. Asked DH whether he was excited and he said ' I haven't even thought about it.' What is it with men that they cannot see past the next 24 hours??
Anyway - better go DS is throwing a wobbly over the lunch DH is doing.
Tara a bit.

thehockeyandtheivy · 28/12/2005 18:14

Spoo - it's a fabulous theory, think it definitely helped plan my thoughts in advance. But will ignore your theory when I remember the dream that I gave birth to my pet cat and then breastfed it (lots of sharp teeth Ouch!), think thats one to forget about!. Good luck with your scan next week, yes men don't think about those things... my DH said Oh there really is a baby in there (oh yes and I suppose the 5 months of vomitting, exhaustion, feeling kicks and the 12 week scan were all figments of his imagination then!). Its lovely to see the little ones at this scan cos its all so clear and they move loads - have lots of fun

lovecloud · 28/12/2005 20:08

Hello all

Hope you all had a fantastic xmas!

I enjoyed this years more than than any year!!! We have had a lovely few days and dd enjoyed it so much. I got so much enjoyment from her. She is a such a great age to appreciate it all.

I can not believe how much food I have consumed and I have put on so much weight, my belly has just expanded. I caught sight of myself in the mirror and was shocked at how chubby i look - last week i was complaining i did not look pregnant.

Baby has been kicking mad, sil felt him/her do some strange move that made us both shout out "whoooooooo!"

I weighed myself and i have put on about 16 pounds!!! I know at this stage it should be roughly half of the total weight you should put on. I had promised myself to not get on the scales.

Ah well, got some good names on my list now and look forward to the scan next week. Part of me would love to find out but I know I would regret it. I was so glad to keep dd'd sex a secret and loved the excitement of finding out for myself when she was born.

crumpet · 28/12/2005 20:58

Hi all, hope you all enjoyed Christmas and are revving up for (a sober) New Year...

Just checking in - we had the anomally scan just before Christmas and nothing was spotted which is good. We are not finding out the sex until the birth. Feeling fat, frumpy and much bigger than this stage first time round - going to investigate topshop at the first opportunity !

Here's to 2006

runtus · 29/12/2005 12:12

Morning all, just got my triple test results and all ok so massive relief round here today. We didn't really have any cause to worry but once the tests were done you can't help it really can you?

20 week scan on the 4th and can't wait now, going to try and find out the sex but we both realy think it is a boy - will be a massive shock if it's a girl! Although oddly we agree on girls names loads more than boys ones.........

Feel massive now but I keep being told it is all bump, so guess I should be grateful for that. Going to take myself off to Topshop in the next couple of days to try some of the low rise jeans mentioned on here a couple of messages back. i have some nice looking ones from Mothercare (I know, I was shocked too!)but they keep falling down as my bump is so much bigger than my hips.......hoping the Topshop ones will be better.

Mandymoo · 29/12/2005 17:47

Hi all - had 20 week scan today (although nearly 22 wks) and had sex confirmed. I already knew from my amnio result and know that they are 100% accurate but just wanted to wait to make sure all ok with scan - which it is. And we are having a BOY!!!

So one of each then!!

Over the moon (and dh too) and cant wait to meet our new little man in May!

lovecloud · 29/12/2005 17:56

Mandymoo - how exciting, one of each !!!

I have a dd and dh would love a little boy so lets see!

thehockeyandtheivy · 30/12/2005 10:00

Mandymoo - congrats on the willy! Is your dh over the moon? My dh is so happy to have one of each as well (that is, till I got to the Next Sale on Tuesday and spent a small fortune on blue things!). Glad the scan went so well and you got to see your little one wriggling away.

Mandymoo · 01/01/2006 20:44

Hockey - yes DH is sooooooo excited but he would have been just as happy to have another girl tbh (at least thats what he tells me!)

Hav ejust started a thread on Pregnancy as i'm now panicking about having a little boy!!

helsi · 01/01/2006 20:46

hi all

we are having another girl. Very pleased as I am not bothered what sex it is. Just glad to have another child in our family.

Mandymoo · 02/01/2006 22:32

Hi all

Been getting loads of mega kicks during the last weeks or so (mainly in the evening) - its so reassuring but some of them hurt!

Have told a few friends that we are expecting a boy but dh's mum and dad have decided not to know which is fair enough - just hope i dont let it slip between now and May!

Got midwife appt in Feb, consultant appt this Fri (due to placenta complications last time) and am generally feeling ok.

Hope you guys are all ok XX

alicats · 03/01/2006 13:52

Hi All

Happy New Year to you.

I've not been on here for ages so thought it was about time that I said hi and passed my congrats on to the people that have already found out what they are having.

I have another scan next week and I can't make my mind up on whether to find out. I already have a dd so a little boy would mean one of each 2 but if I have another dd, I 've alsready got everything so I'm still not sure, was there something that made you decide that you wanted to know??

I have had a rough time so this is why I've not been around much, I don't think I will ever reach the blooming stage. I have noticed that I am getting bigger quicker this time, is anyone else finding this??

alicats · 03/01/2006 13:57

Hi Mandymoo

I hope you don't mind me asking this.

You mentioned on your post that you had placental complications last time, does that mean that you had an abruption or was it something else.

I'm asking as I had an abruption while carrying dd and was just seeing if you may have had the same thing happen to you ?

Mandymoo · 03/01/2006 15:11

Alicats - I cant remember the medical term for it but basically my placenta had rotted away and they couldnt deliver it properly so i had to go into theatre to have it removed and then i had a haemorrage (sp). So this time i guess they just want to keep an eye on things.

As for finding out the sex - i wanted to find out mainly for practical reasons but also as a "treat" for all the anxiety we went through with having the amnio - rightly or wrongly i just wanted to know. I've actually had some negative response from people upon telling them that i know. At the end of the day it was mine and dh's decision and we wanted to know so stuff everyone else!!!

I didnt find out with dd and it was a lovely surprise to find out at the birth but this time round i just wanted to know.

I just think that nothing is going to change what you're having whether you know or not but in my case i couldnt wait!

runtus · 04/01/2006 09:20

Scan at 12.20 today - can't wait!!

thehockeyandtheivy · 04/01/2006 10:44

Good luck runtus! have fun seeing the little one on the screen, it'll be fab
