I thought I'd start a due May 2006 club even though its very early in the month for it.

My stats are

ME: 31
DH: 30
DD: 3 next week!
Next DB due: May 1st (4 weeks pregnant today!)

Just been to the docs to get it all confirmed and seeing the midwife tomorrow. Look forward to more of you joining me as the month progresses!

Actually, I expect to have an elective section after an emergency one with DD so db will probably be born at the end of April. But like the idea of a May thread nonetheless!

lovecloud · 05/12/2005 21:30

hello - anyone around?

thebecster · 06/12/2005 12:50

Please can I join? I'm new to MN.

My baby is due 30th May 2006 so I'm a bit behind most of you 'cos I'm only 15 weeks. I'm 33, DH is 32 and this is our first baby, first pregnancy. Everything's been fine apart from horrid morning sickness from 6 weeks. It's a bit better now - just sick a couple of times a day instead of all day every day. And sooooo tired... But very happy - can't believe I'm going to be a Mum!

ENIDeepMidwinter · 06/12/2005 13:17

congrats wills.

i had my 19 week scan today and I have to say I am having a very pretty baby lovely profile, lovely long neck I was impressed. And he/she was very obliging and kept their legs crossed with the cord tucked in so the sonographer couldn't see the sex - was pleased as was torn about knowing. All fine, lots of movement, OK LETS GO!! I want it to be born NOW!!!

lovecloud · 06/12/2005 14:13

welcome becster!

glad to hear you sickness is easing, i suffered quite bad this time.

i am pregnant with my second and just as excited as i was with my first.

being a mum is great - i love it.

still cant beleive i am pregnant again.

enjoy your pregnancy

thebecster · 06/12/2005 16:17

Thank you for lovely welcome

Much sympathy & fellow feeling for lovecloud on the sickness...

Funny about your coy baby Enid! But I really hope mine doesn't do that - I really want to know. I started having dreams about a little boy before I knew I was pregnant, still having them really frequently. I've just got such a definite idea that I'm having a boy... I'd be delighted with either boy or girl, but if it's a girl I'd like to have some time to adjust before they're born. And if it's a boy I'd like to relax and enjoy the daydreams instead of thinking 'Now stop that, you don't know it's a boy!'.

sniff · 06/12/2005 18:10

Welcome the becster I am due the end of march too wth my third I cant wait to have my second scan second week in january to find out what sex it will be its all so exciting again

I am still being sick to and am starting to feel uncomfortable waiting to feel the movement now I like that bit!!!!

zzoey · 06/12/2005 18:41

hello again everyone. welcome thebecster too.
I've been feeling a bit low as my best friend has just been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and she has had to have a hysterectomy and both ovaries out. same age as me (40). she was hoping to have another baby as she's just got engaged and her fiance doesnt have kids. (she has one older girl). Life is so unfair!
sorry to be a downer. just seems so odd being happily pregnant (so nice when sickness stops!) while this is happening to my friend.
I won't go on. ...
all good wishes to everyone
zz

thebecster · 07/12/2005 11:58

Just a quick note - zzoey - so sorry about that horrid news for your friend
It's is so unfair when terrible things like that happen to good people and I'm sorry it's made you feel sad. Hope she makes a good recovery from the surgery. Sending virtual hugs...

HandbagAddiction · 08/12/2005 14:18

Congratulations to all of you who have had 18/20 week scans recently. Can't believe so many of you have opted to find out the sex this time around. I'm still really keen on the idea of keeping it a complete surprise...and fortunately, so is DH!

Anyway - just had a few days off sorted out the Christmas shopping, cleaning out the garage and discovering that we have some 'pesky' mice in the dining room who have been munching their way through our stash of Mars Bars!!!

So I'm 15+5 today and finally starting to outgrow my clothes. Down to my last pair of jeans and work trousers are very snug! Think I might be off to the shops over the weekend to pick up some next size up stuff - definitely not ready for maternity yet... Also had another bright red bleed on Monday - whilst out doing the Christmas shopping. Just the one episode - but enough to send my heart racing. Fortunately, my community midwife is lovely and has a clinic on Tuesdays, so she had another good prod around and we listened to the heartbeat for quite a while - so all is still ok. She thinks my placenta could be quite low which is what could be causing the sporadic bleeds. Guess I'll find out at my next scan - which isn't until Jan 16th when I'll be 21 weeks..seems ages away!!

Anyway hope everyone else is OK. Sorry to hear about your friend Zzoey - devasting for her I'm sure.

JingleShells · 09/12/2005 10:16

Hi all,

Anyone else finding these middle weeks going sooo slow. And is anyone else just not glowing whatsoever? I have the worst spots ever at the mo.
I can feel baby moving all the time now, she has a routine which is basically getting mega active when I am trying to get to sleep.

Just found out that my 20wk scan will be... on my birthday

thebecster · 09/12/2005 17:08

Shells - am not glowing either! Keep waiting to start 'blooming'- but am just blooming sick, blooming tired, and covered in blooming acne & eczema! It's too early to feel mine moving yet, but I'm not getting much sleep either - keep waking up in the night to be sick (3am onwards...). My DH keeps telling me I look beautiful, which is either very very kind, or a sign he needs his eyes tested

lovecloud · 10/12/2005 17:13

Hello

Isnt it mad feeling your baby move. I am still as excited and amazed as last time. Only difference this time is I do not look at my scan pic 20 times a day

The baby was kicking mad last night and I swear he/she was responding to me talking and stroking the spot where I was rubbing. I was shouting for dh to come and feel for ages but he did not hear. So I had a few very special moments with my baby. I was so excited that I got up and told dh to come into the room and feel for the first time. But my movement muct of made the baby turn because my dd held his hand there for the whole of Jonathan Ross show and nothing! - little monkey!

Been busy shopping which I hate!!! My first xmas humbug moan is why are all the shops npt prepared??? Early Learning Centre, Argos etc have all been out of stock with the most popular toys since last week??? It is so annoying, all the gifts I planned to get my dd and nephews and nieces are out of stock. Surely you would think that they would expect this and prepare with extra stock Arrrrgghhhhhhhhhh!

right enough moaning

ps... yes i am still hormonal

Hi

The feeling of the baby moving is fantastic just not sure when DP and DD will be able to feel it.

Took my DD to a party on sunday afternoon it was for one of the children she will be meeting up with in reception in Januarty so I havent seen any of the mums since September really anyway some knew I was pregnant and other didnt however they all said I look about 6.5 months preg. One lady asked my friend if I awas havng twins I am pleased to say the bump is 'pretty neat' and all at the front but I am actually 19wks - this has slightly worried me as is this normal to look this big - although Ididnt think I was I worry about perhaps theres something happening that shouldnt - would you go to see your midwife? or am I being silly (have to say have had previous m/c and was very large then at 16 wks and apparently the baby had fluid around the neck and head so I am convinced that is why I was so big)
very very sorry to go on just 'letting it all out'

nez · 12/12/2005 16:06

Hello there. New to this! I'm 17 +3 weeks and due May 17th. Feeling fine, just constantly hungry. Anyone else due same time ish?

What does ds dd dh etc mean? Some special codes?

thehockeyandtheivy · 12/12/2005 16:27

nez, welcome and congratulations on the new baby, is it your first?

dd - dear daughter
ds - dear son
dh - dear husband
dp - dear partner

It'll all make sense to you one day!

I think there are a lot of people due the same time as you. Have a look at the beginning of the thread (near the bottom of this page) to see all our due dates etc. I'll do an update sometime when I get a chance to give littlemisspiggy a break (she's done them up to now) and all all the new people on.

nez · 12/12/2005 16:36

Thanks Hockey...Aha! I see! Yep, it's our first. Not showing much at all and was just looking at a 'bump gallery' of other women at 17 and 18 weeks - they are huge compared to me. Sure that midwife will tell me it's normal when I see her on Wed!

zzoey · 12/12/2005 21:08

I'm just getting to 17 weeks. And I'm enormous! Or feel that way. I do have a fibroid, which dsnt help. But I was very big last 2 times anyway. I think it's best not to worry about it! It's amazing how everyone feels they have the right to say you look too big or too small! Cheeky if you ask me....
the 20 week scan should show if baby is the right size ok. just have to decide if we want to know the sex or not.....

Spoo · 13/12/2005 13:27

Hey girls
Sorry I haven't been posting much. I have been suffering quite a bit with my anaemia - that combined with going back to work after DS maternity and having Christmas coming up. I am starting to feel a bit better now the iron tablets I think are kicking in. I have the 20 week scan just after Xmas. I am going to try to find out the sex but I just wondered if there were any other second time mums out there and how they felt about the baby's sex. Part of me wants a little girl as I already have a DS, but in the same breathe it would be great for DS to have a little brother especially since they will be so close in age.
Spoo
xx

thehockeyandtheivy · 13/12/2005 14:36

Spoo, reading your post was like reading my thoughts! I'm anaemic and exhausted too (but at least I have a bigger age gap than you between my dd and the next one - you must be shattered poor you). I've got my scan on 21st (8 days time) and I'll be 21 weeks on Friday. I am absolutely desperate to find out the scan. It is strange that although I really wanted a girl with my first pregnancy, I didn't want to find out the sex at the scan at all. This time I am desperate for another dd and desperate to know what it is. I'm really cross with myself cos I had a nightmare last night and woke up crying. In my dream I was having my scan and they told me it was a boy, I was devastated. I am furious with myself now I'm awake as I feel really selfish for wanting another dd so badly. I'll just be grateful to have another child whatever it is. I really wish I had no preference at all. I'll definitely try and find out the sex next week. That way I know that if it is a boy I have a few more months to gte really excited about him and welcome him for himself when he is born.

Re-reading that I sound so horrid to be so certain of wanting a girl. Please don't think badly of me, I'm nice really. It's just that I love my dd to pieces and would love another girl and for her to have a sister too.

Enideepmidwinter · 13/12/2005 14:42

if you feel that strongly I wouldnt find out.

You'll love your baby whatever the sex when it is born and all sweet and yummy

why go through months of 'disappointment'? There is nothing you can do about it anyway.

I am 21 weeks now and feel great. Totally normal although a bit tired, a bit of backache/ppp, occasional retching in the morning. Looking forward to the Christmas break.

lovecloud · 15/12/2005 16:04

Hello mummies

How ia everyone feeling???

I am feeling very normal - with my first pregnancy I felt "pregnant" the whole time.

My bump is surprisingly small seeing as its my second baby I expected to explode as I never did get around to those stomach crunchies. I do alot of lifting so I guess I must of toner without realising.

I cant wait for my next scan in January. Part of me would like to know the sex but I wont give in and ruin the surprise otherwise its like opening your xmas pressie early.

The baby was kicking so much last week and this week has really slowed down. I love it when I feel it.

Saw a newborn yesterday and I just cant wait to meet my baby. Because its me second I want to make sure I appreciate very moment and just chill out a bit. The first time I kept worrying if I was doing things right! PLus I will not have the shock of becoming a mum, I know what being a mummy brings already the good bits and the bad. The good bits make it all worth while

I have started to get those knbowing looks and little smiles off people in the street which I really like and enjoyed last time - just want to get bigger.

I remember wishing my belly bigger the whole way through my last pregnancy and after wishing it away but even faster

tortoiseshell · 15/12/2005 21:06

Hi everyone. I'm feeling HUGE! Am exhausted as well - think is the effect of looking after 2 little ones and trying to do all the preparations for Xmas - dh very sweetly said 'you don't mind doing all the christmas shopping and the christmas cards do you?'. Even though he works in town, and is real hassle for me to get to the shops. So am VERY tired! But baby is now kicking a bit - I was getting a little concerned, but the placenta is very anterior, which means it's much harder to feel movements - the baby kicks the placenta rather than me iyswim!

Still haven't come up with a girls name I like - any ideas?

Hope everyone's well!

Bouj · 15/12/2005 23:26

Yep, enormous here too. Getting 'not long to go, now' type comments. Er, yes actually, ages to go yet! Shudder to think how huge I will be by May - will probably topple over before then.Good to hear most are feeling better, and getting some movements. Makes it seem more real. Will be great when ds and dh can feel it. Oh, that reminds me - was lying in bed this morning at 4am, and ds started crying really hard. He'd had a nightmare, and dh went to console him, but I could still hear his little sobs on the monitor. Baby started kicking like crazy! In the end I brought ds in with me, and they both settled down! Protective little sibling already. xxx

Enideepmidwinter · 16/12/2005 13:52

ooh my due date has changed to 30 April so should be on the other thread

something tells me this will definitely be a may baby though!

tortoiseshell · 16/12/2005 14:07

Enid, I'm due 23rd April, but am convinced it will be a May baby, having been 12 and 14 days late with ds and dd!
