I thought I'd start a due May 2006 club even though its very early in the month for it.

My stats are

ME: 31
DH: 30
DD: 3 next week!
Next DB due: May 1st (4 weeks pregnant today!)

Just been to the docs to get it all confirmed and seeing the midwife tomorrow. Look forward to more of you joining me as the month progresses!

Actually, I expect to have an elective section after an emergency one with DD so db will probably be born at the end of April. But like the idea of a May thread nonetheless!

Hi, haven't posted for a while, haven't had the energy to log on in the evenings! Also had a good scan this week, really good to see baby, was wriggling all over the place making it hard for them to take measurements. Am also beginning to feel much better, the nausea has pretty much gone this week, still get very tired though. Hoping the 2nd 3 months are going to be much better than the 1st!

zzoey · 27/10/2005 21:25

hello again
I got in an early scan today (10+1) cos I felt a strange lump in my tum. I went tearing off to the hospital EPU wondering whatever was going on. Phew - only a big fibroid in the top of my womb. Little baby was in there wriggling around quite unworried. the doctor was very nice and reassuring and helpfully told me the fibroid wasnt in the wrong place for a c/s. hope i don't need one of those anyway!
so that explains why i feel so big.... what a relief not twins!
that was my excitement for the day.
hope you're all keeping well/ coping with the sicky bits
zz

Hi all, thought I'd check in. Waiting at work to go back and have third scan of the day - baby in wrong position! Trying to have nuchal fold scan, but a distinct lack of co-operation on behalf of baby... But lovely to see arms, legs heart and head doing what they do. I've started to feel some movement too - as anyone else? Had a slight comedy moment last week - saw my obstetrician, who has an ultrasound in his room. He asked if I wanted to take a peek at the baby so we had a look. At that particular time, by uterus decided to have a Braxton Hicks over the baby's head! It's head was 'trapped' at the top of the womb, and the little arms and legs are waving frantically trying to free itself! After doc assured me this was fine, I did have a giggle. Ah, a comedy baby already...

hockeymum · 28/10/2005 10:07

How nice that we are all getting to see our babies now and over the next month. I'm 14 weeks today (by scan dates) and it is SO much better to be in the middle trimester. I think a lot of it is psychological, you know you are on your way there a bit more. Still being sick but not nearly as badly as before, think its just normal pregnancy sickness a couple of times a day now as opposed to the hyperemesis nightmare of 8 vomits a day I have had for the last 2 months! Hooray!

Yes Bouj I have been feeling some movement too but dismissed it as something else cos I thought you couldnt feel it till 18 weeks first time and 16 weeks second time, but pretty sure it is the baby as it feels just like the early stages of last time. So lovely to know things are on the up and the babies are moving and growing isnt it?

Bouj just noticed what time you posted and you said you were at work! Where on earth do you work that you were there at 4am?!!!

Enid · 28/10/2005 10:13

hockeymum good to hear that you dont feel as vile. and bouj that scan sounded very funny. Interesting proof of braxton hicks too as I am sure I have felt them occasionally recently when I have been very tired.

Still feel sick and was sick this am, but it definitely coincides with periods of tiredness and I have had an exhausting week, roll on the weekend.

I may have felt the baby moving at night, but equally it could have been wind as my poor tummy seems in a permananent state of distress - probably as I am constantly doing things like eating a salt beef, gherkin and mustard sandwich at 10am

Bouj · 28/10/2005 10:18

Haha, am in Oz, so just normal job for me! Finally got the result of the nuchal scan today - 1 in 12,000 odd, which is a relief. Sonographer said I couldn't wish for a a better result, which made me cry - hadn't even realised I was concerned! Bloody hormones... Still feeling mildy sick, but definitely on the up. Good to hear others are the same. Could do with the energy the 2nd trimester supposed to bring though!

runtus · 28/10/2005 10:43

I can't wait for the 2nd trimester, really hoping the constanct nausea eases off then. Train journey to work is becoming a complete trauma.........train toilets never being that attractive at the best of times, let alone when you have your head stuck down the bog for 10 mins at 7.30am! Roll on the next stage...........

Have my booking in appointment next Tuesday, will be 11 weeks. Anyone know how soon after I should get my next scan? I had a really early one at 7 weeks to confirm the pregnancy with my consultant but I am hoping for another soon so we can see the baby clearly this time. What are my chances??

Enid · 28/10/2005 10:46

1 in 12,000 that is so good, how old are you bouj you must be about 16!!

I am currently in the process of trying to find out about hiring an independent midwife as I am so fed up with the 'care' I am getting - not just this pg but in my two previous pgs as well.

Bouj · 28/10/2005 11:29

Not quite!! Am 29 - 30 in 2 weeks time. Good for you Enid - I am finding things so different this time around having my own obstetrician (ds was born in UK) was sharing my story with a work friend who was truly horrified by the lack of care I receieved post birth in hospital. She resassured me things would be much differnet this time...

lovecloud · 29/10/2005 23:00

1 in 12,000 wow! never heard a result like that before.

with first pregnancy at 23 i was one in 3000 (and something) and it is about the same this time a few years on.

I thought you only get braxton hicks in the third trimester?

I am 13 weeks now and swear i felt the baby last night. Lying in bed and suddenly to the right of my belly button i felt a flutter - mad! Just like I remember with dd. Maybe it was just wind. All the books I have read do say about 16 weeks for second pregnancy.

squidgeymiller · 30/10/2005 09:02

Hi all,
only seem to get enough energy and time together on a Sunday to check MN.

I thought you couldn't feel anything until around the 15/16 weeks stage? Wow, I must pay more attention.
I'm only really feeling the twinges and pangs I had at early stages - I'm assuming this is still my ligaments stretching, or should I be worried??

I thought I felt something the other day, but it felt more like bubbles moving around my belly than anything else, so I figured it was probably just the constant wind I've been experiencing!

Am beginning to get comments on my bump but I just feel like I look fatter than usual - I can't see a "bump" as such - is it a baby or am I just fat?

LOL

louismummy · 30/10/2005 20:06

imes on your subsequent pregnacies you can feel it around 14 weeks?... hth lol

hockeymum · 30/10/2005 20:27

louismummy - thanks for that, thought I was going mad, happily going to lay on the sofa now and feel the little one jigging about :-)

Hi everyone hope everyone is well accept any morning sickness - that seems to inevitable at some point.
I had my nucal scan on friday and was so happy with the whole thing my risk was 1 - 8000 the same as 15 year old apparently makes me feel pretty good but by no means do I look 15! I feel so assured now in fact I even went and bought my first maternity bra (just underwired as far as I can tell - whats maternity about them?) and cannot believe I measured at 36 D normally 32/34 B I am only 13 wks today - surely they can't keep growing - can they? The scan picture we got was so clear it is incredible everyone has commented on how clear it is maybe its got something to do with the fact they said the baby is quite long and quite big but still within 'normal' - coudl it be a 9lber - ouch!!!!!! my DD was 8lb 2oz so anything is possible - anyway will stop rambling on and wish everyone the best!

HandbagAddiction · 01/11/2005 11:14

Supersomic - so glad your scan was good and that your nuchal result was so low. It must be very reassuring!

I received my scan date through at the weekend. 2 weeks yesterday so 14th November at which point I will be 12+1 accroding to my calculations.

Still going up and down on the sickness stakes. Keep thinking (and hence worrying) that it's all going away...until the next wave hits me all of a sudden!!

Hope everyone else is OK and keeping their beanies safe and warm!!

sniff · 01/11/2005 16:27

hi everyone sorry I havnt been on I have never been so sick or so tired before!!
I am due to have my scan in 2 weeks too but as yet still havnt seen a midwife infact they have sent me an appointment and I will be 15+4 by the time I see one is this normal in some health authorities because where I am from with my last two pregnancys I was booked in by now

crumpet · 02/11/2005 10:31

Hi everyone. Well, we had a somewhat dispiriting scan yesterday. All physical development seems fine except the nuchal fold which came in at a 1 in 80. So we are going today for CVS, as I can't bear the not knowing. Don't know what to think really. We had the same with DD who is fine, so I'm not looking ahead yet until I know the results at the end of the week. It was lovely though to see junior on the screen, bouncing around like an acrobat, and also to know that I was pretty bang on with my dates.

hockeymum · 02/11/2005 14:53

crumpet, hope the cvs goes well, poor you. I hope you get a positive response and start feeling excited again. Thinking of you today.

Hi Everyone - Haven't posted much due to tiredness, sickness and plenty work
BUT had my dating scan today and chat with midwife and so far so good, dates are fine, heartbeat good and beanie looked like he/she was playing the drums! Next step nuchal fold at UCH and then probably CVS. Like you crumpet I think I would rather know.
Welcome to SeaShells and Squidgeymiller!!
It's nice to see the scan stories coming in - it means we're all definitely moving along towards second trimester and hopefully feeling a bit better too.
Sniff - 15+ weeks does seem a bit long. Is there anyway you can chivvy them along a bit?
Anyway, hope you are all doing well

mucho for all of you not being sick anymore. I'm nearly 15 weeks and still puking for Britain! Also have anaemia, no feritin iron stores, a chest infection, ear infection and sinisitis, bad asthma and insomnia! Who says you were meant to glow at this stage, whoever it is I'll challenge you to a wizards duel!

Seriously though, even though my health has been really pooey, I really appreciate being able to grow my own baby. When you realise what other people have to go through with fertility treatment, adoption or even being turned down for both of those, you realise how blessed you are to have your own family. After all its only 9 months (OK 12 months with c-section recovery) of feeling rubbish for a lifetime of happiness with your dear babies! I'm so happy to be having my final db and getting to know him or her next year.

Hope you all start feeling much better soon x
