May Babies 2006

I thought I'd start a due May 2006 club even though its very early in the month for it.

My stats are

ME: 31
DH: 30
DD: 3 next week!
Next DB due: May 1st (4 weeks pregnant today!)

Just been to the docs to get it all confirmed and seeing the midwife tomorrow. Look forward to more of you joining me as the month progresses!

Actually, I expect to have an elective section after an emergency one with DD so db will probably be born at the end of April. But like the idea of a May thread nonetheless!

Fantastic Hockeymum!
This thread has gone a bit quiet hasn't it but as you say lc everyone's probably too busy being sick and fed up! It's encouraging when you hear nice scan stories.
Sometimes I ask DS (3.5)whether he likes babies and the answer varies yes or no depending on the day. When it's 'no' and I ask why not he says ''cos is too loud'. Hope new baby arrives on a yes day.

littlemisspiggy · 19/10/2005 15:51

sorry meant Handbag not LC - duh...

cori · 20/10/2005 09:39

Hi everyone,
I havent posted in a long while, because I havent been able to feel confident enough about this pregnancy to risk it. I had a miscarriage earlier in the year, at 16 weeks. (that baby would have been due three weeks ago).I am now offically 12 weeks pregnant, I have had 3 scans so far and all seems to be going well. I have also been offerred weekly scans up until 20 weeks for my own peace of mind. I suppose because I am being monitored so carefully, I am starting to feel a little bit more confident. Obviously for me the major hurdle will come in 4 weeks time.

Enid · 20/10/2005 09:50

Sickness definitely much improved.

Nuchal fold tonight, will post tomorrow.

tortoiseshell · 20/10/2005 12:56

Hope the scan is good tonight Enid. I haven't been sick for nearly a week now, still feeling a little queasy, but much better now! Can find things to eat which helps.

Hope everyone else is enjoying reaching the 2nd trimester!

lovecloud · 20/10/2005 14:41

good luck Cori
awful to lose a baby at 16 weeks
must be so unlikely to happen again. but you can hardly help worrying
thinking of you

cori · 20/10/2005 15:55

Thanks,
am so pleased about getting the extra scans, will never have to worry for more than a few days. My next scan is on 2nd of November as I am away next week.

Enid · 21/10/2005 10:19

lovely nuchal fold scan with the lowest risk you can possibly get at my advanced age.

Sleepy baby happily drinking away.

cori · 21/10/2005 10:49

Thats good news. How old are you, if you dont mind me asking?

Enid · 21/10/2005 10:50

littlemisspiggy · 21/10/2005 12:43

great news Enid!

HandbagAddiction · 21/10/2005 13:15

Ok - so I'm having my worst day ever! 8+5 today and I feel terrible! Fortunately dh rang me this morning to tell me that his taxi picks him up from the airport at 7pm and that he's been shopping and has something for me! So - something to cheer me up in the midst of all this nastiness. Could hardly even eat my lunch today I felt so bad. Horrible isn;t it when you really don't want to eat but know you have to because it's the only you might feel remotely better.

Had my booking appointment with the midwife yesterday who was lovely. She even said that it was lovely to see me again. Amazing that they can remember from the last time. Anyway, had bloods done and she has promised to keep an eye on my iron levels this time around since I had to have a blood transfusion after dd was born as I was so anaemic. All good stuff. 12 week nuchal scan expected mid November.

So - great news about your scan Enid - so pleased it went well. Lovely to see you back again too Cori.

How is everyone else feeling today then? good plans for the weekend?

runtus · 21/10/2005 14:34

I've got a banging headache and finally given in and taken some paracetamol.......thought maybe it was the coffee I had this morning but alas no.

On a better note, just found out my best mate is also pregnant and told my sister about our news -a good lunchtime!

littlemisspiggy · 21/10/2005 15:40

Ta Da!! I've got an appt for a scan on the 2nd of Nov and they will do my booking stuff all at the same time. By then I will be exactly 11 weeks. Can they tell what flavour at that stage?

cori · 21/10/2005 18:37

Same day as my next one.
They cant tell the flavour at that age, usually by 20 weeks they can tell.

lovecloud · 22/10/2005 22:28

Hello everyone

Went to the Baby Show in London today - cant believe how much walking you do. I was absolutley shattered. Must of walked around for more than four hours.

Really enjoyed, got to see lots of nice things and got some freebies. My highlight was getting to listen to my babies heart beat. One of the stalls was selling sonographers? Not sure if that is what they are called. A few people before me looked a bit upset as they lady could not find the babies heart beat so I hesitated doing it but gave in. It brought a tear to my eye and dd got to hear him/her too. She thought it made a funny "Waa Waa" noise - The first real evidence that there is someone in there. I am so nervous, keep thinking about losing the baby. I guess its because I have heard about so many people losing babies lately... i have to think positive, I done it once - I can do it again.
My scan is next Wednesday and I cant wait!!!!!!!
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend

squidgeymiller · 23/10/2005 12:53

Hi all, can I join the thread?

I've been watching the thread for a few weeks but wasn't sure whether to join this thread or April until scan conf I'm due 1st May 06.

My details are:
Me 25
DH 37

I m/c at 6 weeks in may so was very nervous until had the scan but is now conf so feeling a bit better. Also was beginning to get paranoid and think I was imagining the whole thing!

This is my first baby so I'm not too sure of all the symptoms, also haven't had booking in yet as have just moved house and area so had to move GP's. Apparently I got 'lost' in transfer so mw is frantically trying to get me appt.

Is it normal to feel so full? I feel like I've eaten 2 Xmas dinners on the trot most of the time, which means I tend not too eat v much at lunch/dinner. Is this normal or should I be worried??

Congrats to everyone - I can't believe how excited I am (I'm sure the novelty will wear off as soon as I start to get bigger)

SeaShells · 23/10/2005 17:14

Hi all, thought I'd come say hi to you all on this thread.
Snap squidgeymiller, I too am due May 1st, so wasnt sure which thread to join.

I am 25, I already have DS 7 and DD nearly 2.

Everything going fine with pg so far. Except I feel as big as a house already! Suprisingly not suffered with morning sickness this time like the past 2 times when I was stuck in bed for the first few months!
Counting down the weeks already. Can't wait for baby to get here!

Congratulations to you all, and hope you are all well and happy.

hockeymum · 23/10/2005 17:36

Congratulations Squidgymiller and seashells! 2 more babies due on May Day!! I think there are about 5 of us now! So we all know what we were doing in early August then! Glad you are both feeling ok but full. Yes the fullness is normal but you might feel hungry more often and need more snacks in between meals. Or is that just my excuse?

Anyway, welcome to May Babies!

louismummy · 24/10/2005 20:07

hey everyone, well after feeling generally crap until 9-10 weeks then had a couple of weeks of feeling good, back to now feeling very crap. Had my nuchal scan today in Leeds all is well. It was moving all over the place. can't wait till i feel better again.

alicats · 25/10/2005 18:04

Evening All

Hope you are all well

I've not been on here for quite a while now, due to being really ill and also busy at work, a great combination they make, I started to feel alot better this weekend but the last couple of days gone back to feeling really yucky.

I got my 1st scan on friday so really looking forward to seeing babe and checking that all is ok as I have been really worried, my last pg I sailed through must be making up for it this time.

I'm having horrible dreams at night and keep waking up - am I just being silly but I'm sure I heard or read somewhere that you shouldn't sleep on your back - can anyone help me as its really getting to me when ever I'm trying to sleep.

Better fly, contracts to seashells & sqidgymiller, welcome to the thread.

Keep smiling

Alicats x

HandbagAddiction · 26/10/2005 08:54

Alicats - think the sleeping on your back thing is only relevant once your at the 24 weeks plus mark. Believe it's got something to do with the additional weight of your baby (plus other stuff) putting pressure on some key blood vessels....but don't quote me on that one..someone else might be able to provide some better insight!

In terms of everything else - well thought I was beginning to feel slightly better (although worried that symptons were starting to disappear) but then last night felt truly miserable and the smell of the lamb cooking in the kitchen last night for tea was enough to send me running for cover!! Really tired though....felt like curling up under my desk at work yesterday at about 3pm....!!

Got a stinking cold now on top on everything else....boo...hiss!!

Hi to everyone else - hoe you're all OK.

lovecloud · 26/10/2005 12:50

Hello welcome to the May days

My sickness has eased slightly and now starts from around lunch time rather than from when i opened my eyes in the morning.

But when it hits it makes me feel so awful.

I am on a high today, had my first scan this morning and got to see my little one. The baby was asleep and lying face down, we tried to wake him/her up but they would just kick out once or wave an arm... hope he/she is that lazy when they come out I remember my dd's scan was much more entertaining, she was doing somersaults, sucking her thumb etc. The nurse said it was quite early in the morning so they were still asleep.

I am so glad all looked well and it was lovely to see their little heart pumping away. So exciting, just cant wait to meet him/her, I just can not imagine what they will look or be like.
