I thought I'd start a due May 2006 club even though its very early in the month for it.

My stats are

ME: 31
DH: 30
DD: 3 next week!
Next DB due: May 1st (4 weeks pregnant today!)

Just been to the docs to get it all confirmed and seeing the midwife tomorrow. Look forward to more of you joining me as the month progresses!

Actually, I expect to have an elective section after an emergency one with DD so db will probably be born at the end of April. But like the idea of a May thread nonetheless!

I am almost 12 weeks and still feel as vomitous as ever

lovecloud · 13/10/2005 16:07

NO ENID!

crumpet · 13/10/2005 16:15

Hi everyone, I've just been to the midwife for the first part of booking in (she was expecting me to have already decided on the hospital, as we are equidistant from at least 4, but when I'd previously asked the dr about them, he'd just said "oh, the midwife will fill you in when you see her", so I have to go back next week once I've decided which is a pain, especially as they were hopeless at giving any recommendation).

Anyway, I wasn't expecting her to listen for a heartbeat at 10 weeks - but she did and we found one! So exciting and I have no-one to tell except you lot as dh is away!

littlemisspiggy · 13/10/2005 17:07

Hi all! Just a quick update as have been v. busy at work (so inconvenient)and I'm about to go home.
Called hospital on Wed PM and they hadn't received any letter so rang GP surgery who said oh dear we'll get if faxed but can't do it til Friday because my GP is away and a locum is covering til then. I'm glad I rang cos I could have gone til 12 weeks not heard anything and missed bloods, scans etc!! GRRRRRR!

Anyway, sick as a pig today..

tortoiseshell · 14/10/2005 08:54

Got my scan this afternoon, so keep your fingers crossed please! lovecloud - am 12 and a half weeks, and still being sick! Sorry!

HandbagAddiction · 14/10/2005 09:21

Tortoiseshell - hope all goes well for you this afternoon. Will be thinking of you.

Sorry to hear that you and many others are still feeling very sick. Had my first 'nearly sick' moment yesterday evening on a Bakerloo line tube...would have been really pleasant for the other passengers..but fortunately...it passed relatively quickly once I got into the 'fresher' air.....

hockeymum · 14/10/2005 09:39

Good luck with the scan tortoiseshell. Let us all know how it goes and how gorgeous your beanie is!

Handbagaddiction - go on, be sick on the underground! You can help me write the book on sickness, I'd love someone else to be as embarrassed as I was in Asda last month! Plus was sick ON my dd yesterday morning as she got between me and the back door. Thankfully just her school coat and she didnt notice! I shoved it in the washing machine and told her she should wear her raincoat instead - she seemed happy enough with that!

Lovecloud - sorry 12 weeks and still writing aforementioned book! Sorry x

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Who ever called it morning sickness and whoever said it lasts three months??? I want to strangle them!

I bet it was a man

Ah well! It will end one day.

Since speaking to mums of two they all said they suffered for the first time or had morning sickness worse the second time around, all expept one of them. Thats weird, why is it worse second time?

Tortoiseshell - GOODLUCK and ENJOY!!!

Tell us all about it

runtus · 14/10/2005 11:57

Morning all......so nice to have people to talk to about all this finally. At least I'm not the only one eating complete sh*te anymore!

I was saying to my DP last night how sad it is that now I can't really have booze, I am massivley looking forward to my chinese takeaway at the weekend instead! Sad but truely is the highlight of my week...............

aprilmeadow · 14/10/2005 14:01

CONGRATULATIONS RUNTUS!!!!!!

Sweetheart told me this morning - I am soooo pleased for you.

Take care Aprilmeadow x

tortoiseshell · 14/10/2005 14:36

Just back from scan, baby was v cute, kept doing little 'jumps' and sucking its thumb. Have EDD of 23rd April so am 12+5 now. Had to pay for scan as our area don't do them, but consultant v.kindly did free nuchal measurement, which took risk of Downs from background risk of 1:667 to my risk of 1:3633 so am v.happy! Got some cute pics too.

Hope everyone feels better soon - the sickness will end!

hockeymum · 14/10/2005 15:16

Congrats Tortoiseshell. Very pleased it went so well and you got to see your gorgeous bundle.

5 days to go till my scan, I didnt realise they could suck their thumbs already - how cute is that?

supersonic · 14/10/2005 15:26

congratulations tortoiseshell its must be so reassuring to see your little chickadee.
We don't have 12 wks scans in our area but have a nucal scan booked for 28th of this month when I will be 12+5 and today got my 20 wk scan appt though for 19th December that seems an age away so am glad I am having the nucal scan because I would not be happy to wait until Dec (had scan at 9wks at EPU and all was fine). I am lucky still no sickness (well one morning lasted all of about 2 minutes) I find at night as soon as I get tired I feel nauseous but I eat or go to sleep and feel fine - I feel quite lucky and feel sooo sorry for anyone who feel sick all day but it will pass!

lovecloud · 16/10/2005 16:46

tortoiseshell - that is soooooooo lovely... sucking their little thumb! i just cant wait to see mine.

i feel so crap right now i just need that to cheer me up and keep me going!

I JUST WANT CRISPSSSSSS

went out for a bike ride today with dd, thought i better get it in before i have to stop at four months as its a mountain bike and you should not be cycling leaning forward from that stage. love riding my bike so going to really miss that for 6 months or more.

who mentioned a chinese - mmmmmmmmmmmmm

zzoey · 16/10/2005 21:20

Hi again everyone
Apples and apples and apples and apples are all I want to eat.... and drink cold lemonade.
I feel so sick... and tired and fed up. so lots of good wishes to you fellow sufferers. I'm sure they'll guess at work, I look so green, and keep eating apples and have gone off tea. but may be they wont, it's funny what people dont notice!
this is my 3rd PG and it's the worst. the best one was the 2nd, i did feel a bit sick but nothing too bad. not like this time.
good luck with the week everyone

runtus · 17/10/2005 09:34

Thanks Aprilmeadow!

Need all the help I can today - feel like crap!

Enid · 17/10/2005 09:47

congrats tortoiseshell. I have my nuchal on Thurs and just pray everything is ok and I can finally tell the dds.

Feel sicker than EVER even though am 12 weeks today (ta da!!) Have been sick regularly every morning for a week or so plus at least once in the day. Am trying to get some salad or veg at every meal so hopefully I'll be keeping down some goodness. Dh is paranoid that there is something wrong with the baby which is why I feel so sick...also I have very little energy and just want to lay in bed all day.

Can't wait until I stop moaning every time I come on Mumsnet!

lovecloud · 17/10/2005 18:38

Hello Enid

When moaning about ms to a few people, they all said "oh thats a good sign, means your body is doing all it needs etc"

I also looked on a website, will try and find it and it tells you that people who suffer from ms are less likely to miscarry, the figures are much lower so thats nice to know

hockeymum · 18/10/2005 08:11

I've heard and read the same things Lovecloud and yes it is reassuring. Although also b@##'y annoying that other people manage to grow really healthy full term babies without a moment of sickenss at all. Jealous? moi? Never (particularly not this morning when I've had about 4 hours sleep all night and thrown up 6 times already!)

This thread is getting too long (pregnant woman grumble). Sorry (but selfishly releived!) that others are still feeling sick. Hit the magical 12 weeks and expected it all to stop, but no, alas. Still, has eased somewhat, which is good. Have horrible back/hip pain which the gp thinks is sciatica which is a worry, this early. Keep trying to get booked into a physio, but with a 2.6 year old, keep having to cancel it! Got my Nuchal Fold scan on Friday, it will be good to (hopefully) find out everything is ok.

Enid · 18/10/2005 10:11

well.....I feel a bit better today no sickness this am at all...

lovecloud · 18/10/2005 12:53

Hello

I am reporting in with positive news HOORAY!

I am 11.5 weeks and I have to say that since Saturday my sickness has definitely got better almost by 50% and I do not need a nap in the day. Would like one but dont need it. When I was sleeping up to 2 hours, I started to feel like weird and felt like all I did was sleep, eat, sleep, eat. So I feel more normal this week. Still sick but not as bad.

So fingers crossed it will just keep on geting better from now on.

Only problem now is dd has been waking up crying hysterically four - five times a night for the last three weeks. Took her to gp and they said it sounds like an emtional problem and she is probably having nightmare - Great! Said she recommends a cranial osteopath to sort the problem.

Other than that - I just cant wait to see my baby on the scan next week. I asked 2.5 year old dd what we should call the baby if it is a boy and she said very seriously "No mummy - its a girl".
Its so funny, everytime someone talks about the baby, she says the same thing with a very serious look on her face. Maybe she's right, they do say kids have a sixth sense.

HandbagAddiction · 19/10/2005 13:27

Blimey - it's all gone very quiet! Hoping everyone is OK and just too busy coping with feeling generally rubbish...!!

Lovecloud - so glad to hear that you're starting to feel slightly better now. Long may it continue?! Do you have an appointment for a scan or anything yet?

I have my booking appointment with the midwife tomorrow which will be a big non-event. Dh is off to Rome today for 3 days so I'm coping alone with god awful 'evening' sickness and a 2 year old dd who has a bad cough and isn't the least bit interested in sleep! For the past couple of nights DH has been my saviour and has really stepped in and dealt with the nighttime stuff. She's just normally such a good sleeper that I can't cope with broken sleep anymore - and especially when I can barely move off the sofa past 8pm!! Oh hurry up Friday when he's home again!

So what's everyone else up to then? Anymore embarrassing 'puke up' moments??? Have to say that in my non-pregnant days, I did have to throw up on a jumbo jet on my way home home from Tokyo. Had been up all night drinking beers and saki in a Kareoke bar, got 2 hours sleep and was incredibly hungover - the smell of the 'hot chicken dinner' was what really finished me off!

hockeymum · 19/10/2005 14:27

Hello everyone - had my 12 week scan today. Officially the baby measured 12+5 giving a due date of 29 - 30th April but they are sticking with my period dates and 1st May.

It was so lovely to see the baby on the screen with a good strong heartbeat and it was jumping around and waving one of it's arms around. lovely to watch. Saw the consultant also who agreed with us that it would be best to have an elective c-section around 24th April or before when I'll be just over 39 weeks. It's very exciting and I'm so pleased I got my desired delivery method without a big fight about it.

Still being sick all day long but I feel happier now that I've seen the baby. I'm going to be a mummy again!!!
