I thought I'd start a due May 2006 club even though its very early in the month for it.

My stats are

ME: 31
DH: 30
DD: 3 next week!
Next DB due: May 1st (4 weeks pregnant today!)

Just been to the docs to get it all confirmed and seeing the midwife tomorrow. Look forward to more of you joining me as the month progresses!

Actually, I expect to have an elective section after an emergency one with DD so db will probably be born at the end of April. But like the idea of a May thread nonetheless!

Lovecloud - i'm 9/10 weeks pregnant and feel exactly the same - some days i feel really bad (which i actually like iykwim) and other days like today where i feel fine and i have no symptoms at all. I have to say that it was like this with my first pregnancy but i still like to feel sick at some point during the day

As JM said, keep resting and lets look forward to those scans we should be getting soon XXXXX

hockeymum · 03/10/2005 10:06

Good monday morning people! I'm so sick I'm going to stay with my mum for a few days so she can help look after my dd. DH has gone to Korea with work for 2 weeks and I cant even open a fridge without throwing up so going for a few days rest with my mum. I'll check in when I get back. I'm doing all I can to avoid being admitted with this hyperemesis as the thought of a hospital makes me even more sick! Roll on next trimester. Have got my dating scan on 19th October when I'll be 12 1/2 weeks, cant wait to see some positive evidence of this baby. At the moment I'm trying to keep the eyes on the prize, on my May baby and keep positive!!!

Thinking of you all, hope you are not too tired and not long now to 2nd trimester!

Hi Everyone! I'm now almost 7 weeks. Haven't posted much recently as have been feeling pretty lousy and it's as much as I can manage to cope with work during the day. Also think I have a cold but I seem to remember from last time that congestion was also part and parcel of pregnancy. Oh roll on 2nd trimester!!!

Enid · 03/10/2005 13:21

hello everyone

felt sick all day yesterday and not too bad today

tired though as dd2 woke twice in the night boo.

have quite noticeable bump now (10 weeks) can't believe noone at work has guessed yet

supersonic · 03/10/2005 14:30

Hi everyone!

sorry for everyone who feels sick all day as I am quite lucky in the way that no once have I thron up and I am 9 wks today having said this I didn't with either of my previous pregnancies although I do feel nauseous sometimes (morning and night time especially whilst cleaning my teeth) and I am happy with this at least I know its 'normal' I was just wondering if anyone could offer me a bit of reassurance now I know this is not the nicest thing to be talking about but all the same - I am getting discharge (which is clear) and when I read my books they say this should happen inthe 2nd trimester but cannot find anything about it in the first 12 wks anyone else have this - or just me! sorry if its put anyone of their lunch!

lovecloud · 03/10/2005 14:36

hello supersonic

i get lots of dicharge, had it from the beginning of my first pregnancy and that is why i tested this time as I had it before my period was even due. mine is always creamy and crumbly - nice - yuk although it has a smell it is not bad. your discharge sounds perfectly normal. just keep an eye it does not turn a nasty colour or smell. its just caused by the increase of hormones... yes its those hormones again.

to all the sicky crew - keep in there!
i feel so sick today with lots of spots and i look so rough. i can so tell my friends lying when they say "you look great!" - yeah right!!! i love them x

supersonic · 03/10/2005 14:54

thanks lovecloud for the reassurance I am going for a 'reassurance' scan tomorrow morning so hopefully this will confirm all is well with the my little chickadee!!!!!!

littlemisspiggy · 03/10/2005 15:43

Supersonic- I also have clear 'stringy' discharge.
It's quite normal and as lc says as long as it doesn't turn nasty shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Hope this helps. x.

tortoiseshell · 04/10/2005 10:14

Hello - need to moan! Feel horrible, just been really really sick, not sure if bug or m/s - unfair if bug I think! Anyway, nearly 11 weeks, got scan next week, (private though - don't you think it's annoying the way some areas have 12 week scans, others don't?). Anyway, hope everyone else is feeling less sick!

Enid · 04/10/2005 11:29

sympathies

I had a horrible day on Sunday felt sick almost all day long

as long as I dont burp or cough in the morning I can just about hold down the morning vom - have been sick a few times early evening though (my worst time)

it passes...it passes...

littlemisspiggy · 04/10/2005 12:20

tortoiseshell -
hope your scan goes well.

I agree that ante-natal scanning is a bit of a postcode lottery and should be the same for everyone. I know of one person who didn't even get offered blood tests (and she was 40 at the time).

lovecloud · 04/10/2005 13:48

Supersonic - you around?

How did the scan go?

Cant wait for mine!

Only 9 weeks - feels like I have been 9 weeks for ages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The sickness is back full blast, for a day I thought it was easing off. Ah well!

I feel like poo, dd is at nursery today so I am going to close down and sleep even though I have tons of washing, dirty bathroom, kitchen floor, dishes in the sink and no food in the house! Yikes! What have I become? A rubbish mummy and wife?

Im tired and sick

Roll second trimester!!!!!!!!!

supersonic · 04/10/2005 14:19

Afternoon everyone!

Lovecloud - Had the scan this morning and all is well and the baby is fine heart beating and got my pictures we saw him/her kicking the yolk sack and apparently this is why I may feel nauseous which was really strange because only minutes before I said to my DP how I felt nauseous but probably was due to nerves more than the kicking! - yippeee I feel so much more assured and relaxed although I am so aware that its still early days- we have discussed the nucal scan with the nurse and we have decided to go for this so am going to book this for end of the month!
When is your scan due?

Xena · 04/10/2005 15:21

Hi all.
I went to my GP this morning who thinks I have the start of a hernia (I have a little lump by my tummy button). But he gave me some anti sickness tablets which have made me feel much better, the real test will be this evening when I get really bad nausea.
Supersonic your scan sounds like it was great. I'm fortunate here that they will scan you as many times as nessecary but always at 12 and 23wks. I've have always had a 34wk scan as well.

littlemisspiggy · 04/10/2005 15:25

Hi Xena,
How would they treat the Hernia?

lovecloud · 04/10/2005 16:25

Supersonic - how exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did not know that sickness can be caused by the baby kicking the sack... made me go "ahhhhhhhhhhh"

If I see my baby do that at my scan it will make me feel better

Around here you have your scan between 12 - 13 weeks and then again at 20 weeks and sometimes more.

During my first pregnancy I had one again at 25 weeks as I start having contractions due to (embarassing) constipation. But luckily after exiting the largest poo I had ever created my tummy relaxed. I never told work about it as I was so embarassed, they were all so worried for me. I could not go back in and say "Sorry, false alarm. I ate too much last night and it was just a blockage" Especially as I had to take two days off work!!!

I guess I will hear from the hospital in the next two weeks for my date - can not wait! I am just as or even more excited tham last time. Alot of people say their second pregnancy did not excite them as much but I am. I am reading all the books all over again... just incase I missed something out last time

Are your scan photos good?

My first one was great, you could actually see a perfect outline of her beautiful face, looking back I should have known it was a girl.

Xena - my friend is pregnant and has a hernia, it got quite big and painful and she was given some cream. It has now gone down but you can feel it if you run your finger over it.

Xena · 05/10/2005 07:48

Sorry Lmp I went off to do the school run and didn't see your message. The doctor said that they couldn't do anything whilst I was pg, that they would see about repairing afterwards, He blames being pg to many times.
I had some awful cramps yesterday so I'm looking forward to my 12wk scan to see if all is well.

TheRtHonBaronessEnidOBE · 05/10/2005 07:58

tummy cramps here yesterday too

wish I hadn't eaten that pork pie

was awake half the night convinced I had got listeria

littlemisspiggy · 05/10/2005 10:02

I hope it's not too painful. How many times have you been pg if you don't mind my asking (you've prob already posted it somewhere but I've missed it)?

7 weeks today and counting. I wish the nausea would go away. At times it does and I feel quite good but it comes back in big waves. Yuckity yuck.

Xena · 05/10/2005 10:47

Enid I'm hoping that its the folic acid that is causing me to be constipated and then have cramps, I will stop taking them at 12wks.
LMP this is my 5th pg. DS7 DD3 DD1 and 1 m/c at 14wks. I've said since I found out I was pg again that this is the last time even if it doens't work out I really have had enough of being tired and sick.

HandbagAddiction · 05/10/2005 10:56

Hello everyone! Not been around for a couple of days as I'm feeling a bit negative about things. Somehow managed to convince myself that somethings going to go wrong. Added to that is the fact that for the last couple of day I've been feeling OK with only cramps for symptons - sickness seems to have eased off completely and my boobs aren't sore at all any more (despite much prodding!!!). I'm 6+4 today so I know it's still early days and with dd - I didn;t even start to get MS until 7 weeks. But you know how it is.....I'm just soooooo worried....

I see the midwife two weeks tomorrow so I guess I can hang out until then and ask her loads of questions - but apart from booking me in - at 9 weeks, she's not going to able to provide me any other reassurance is she as I'm assuming a tummy prod or doppler thing won't show anything yet?

In desparate need of some reassurance....

littlemisspiggy · 05/10/2005 11:11

Handbag, it really is very early days and the first 12 weeks are probably the most difficult because it feels like midwives/doctors aren' paying you enough attention and you can't really tell friends/acquaintances. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. Some women don't have any symptoms at all! (My mum didn't know she was expecting me until nearly 5mths gone! .
Try to keep yourself busy or keep chatting on MN so that the weeks go fairly quickly and you'll soon be at your scan. If you really are panicking could you get an early private scan (internal)just to put your mind at rest. I had that at 9 weeks with DS 'cos I'd convinced myself I had an ectopic what with all the cramps. Everything was ticking along normally.
Hope you feel better about things soon.
Xena - I'm impressed! You'll have to give a few tips on how you cope practically with more than one!

lovecloud · 05/10/2005 11:18

Handbag, I remember reading somewhere that around your time some people symptoms dissapear, my friend had this was convinced she was pregnant but it came back.

On the weekend my ms almost went totally and instead of being happy, I felt worried!!! Stupid, now its back full force and I feel soooooooooooooo sick and I am moaning all day again

I cant wait for my mw app either, I am 9.5 weeks. I called my hospital today and they said they are running behind and normally see people around 9 weeks but I will have to wait until 12 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought with my 2nd pregnancy I would be more chilled, butu I am just as excited and nervous.

Also wanted to ask you all, do you think I should bring my dd to the 12 week scan? She is 2.5 years/ My dh said what if we lose it, how do we explain this? I immediately got cross and said to think positive.
What do you think?
It would be amazing for hr to see the baby kicking and moving. The 20 week is never good and clear to see the body properly.

munz · 05/10/2005 11:22

ha - calm down honney. firstly , I was like u symptoms coming and going (even tested at 8 weeks to make sure) anyhow, when the symptoms do come back u'll be wishing them away again - I know it's easy for me to say, but try to relax - do a cheapo test if it helps. my m/w was looking for the viablity with the doppler - she said as long as she heard placenta she was happy. hth.

littlemisspiggy · 05/10/2005 11:33

Ooooo! Office canteen is doing Brie and Ham melts for lunch - am I allowed the Brie if it's cooked? Please say yes!!

LC- IMO I think she would probably see and understand better at the 20wk as it will look more like a baby than a shrimp!
