I thought I'd start a due May 2006 club even though its very early in the month for it.

My stats are

ME: 31
DH: 30
DD: 3 next week!
Next DB due: May 1st (4 weeks pregnant today!)

Just been to the docs to get it all confirmed and seeing the midwife tomorrow. Look forward to more of you joining me as the month progresses!

Actually, I expect to have an elective section after an emergency one with DD so db will probably be born at the end of April. But like the idea of a May thread nonetheless!

littlemisspiggy · 05/10/2005 13:02

Am I threadkiller or something???

HandbagAddiction · 05/10/2005 13:17

Not at all LMP - we're all just too busy stuffing our faces and can't type at the same time! !

Thanks to all of you for the reassurance! I know everything is probably OK and if it isn't - well there's probably precious little I can do about it...so I think I just need to chill out abit! Can't remember being this worried last time - but maybe that was because I was younger and wasn't of the 'time is against me' mindset!

sniff · 05/10/2005 16:39

Have just had the worst few days - have been sick sick sick since Tuesday morning, unable to move out of bed, dh had to take 2 days off, while I just threw up and up (sorry if tmi) - phoned the dr last night as hadn't eaten anything since Monday lunchtime, she thought was maybe a bug on top of morning sickness.

Anyway, feeling a lot better today, but very very wobbly. Got my booking appointment with mw this afternoon - my blood and urine tests are going to make interesting reading!

lovecloud · 06/10/2005 16:15

hello ts - sorry to hear you have been feeling so ill.

i am not vomiting but feel like i am about to 24 hours, nothing helps except crisps and there are only so many I can eat.

i am exhausted and feeling very fed up, this sounds awful but this must be what it feels like to have M.E. my house is a mess, every day its building and i just cant face it. my day feels like 2 hours long and one of those i sleep. i cant manage easy tasks, i work for myself and have done no paperwork for weeks.

the more i moan the more i feel guilty as i want this baby so much.

i wonder if maybe accupressure or accupuncture would help, i am willing to try anything. i just hope i am not one of those poor women who experience ms the whole wasy through, if so i will get depressed. i already feel on the edge.

crumpet · 06/10/2005 16:48

Hi everyone, just a quick check in. No real news to report - I'm not feeling particularly grim, just knackered. Eating like a horse though, and clothes are getting tight - I like to feel its the bump, but more like the 4-5 meals a day!

Booking appointment next week, so hopefully I'll have a better idea about the options in this area - we moved here after having dd, so it's all new. In London had scan at 12 weeks, but here it's not offered apparently...

sniff · 06/10/2005 18:59

I was told you didnt have a 12 wqeeks scan up here (recently moved up North) but the have sent me an appointment for 1

Spoo · 06/10/2005 19:13

We are a sorry lot aren't we. I feel that the excitment of being pregnant is wearing off now and that I am starting to remember all the bad stuff about my last pregnancy. I am being sick but somehow it doesn't seem as bad this time. (Touch wood). Saying that I am not yet back at work from maternity leave and I felt that the first time was made worse by the early mornings.
I also feel if I am sicker earlier in the morning it makes life easier for the rest of the day.

Does anyone esle find they can bring it on themselves in the morning by thinking about it?

Spoo
7+6

helsi · 06/10/2005 19:55

well a bit of cheeriness from me - sorry girls but I feel fine in the 2nd pg. I had a stomach bug a couple of days ago but I am not having morning sickness etc. A bit tired (very tired actually) but I fel very well. maybe it will come on later!!

I do feel for you all though i had it dreadfully with dd1.

lovecloud · 06/10/2005 20:27

Helsi - not fair!

... only joking!

Its like they say "every pregnancy is different" with my dd1 I sailed through it, it was so easy.

So I guess I have the opposite like you this time.

The tiredness is do weird as people usually ask me where I get my energy from as I am always out, out my bike, in the park etc. These days I sit on the couch in a sorry mess whilst poor dd watches a dvd!... Ah well, hopefully it will only be for another month and then I will be back to my usual self - peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelease God!!!!

It will actually be a shock to feel normal again, I cant wait

Anyone else about 10 weeks and got their scan booked? I am still waiting to receive my letter. Called the hospital yesterday just incase they forgot about me and they said they are running late with appointments but I should have my scan when I am 12.5 weeks - so excited!!!!!!!

hockeymum · 07/10/2005 06:31

lol Spoo, yes, I can be sick all day just by thinking about it. Also every time I go into a public loo I throw up immediately! Also get sick every time I see raw chicken or meat (weird one that!) and yesterday I bent down to put some of dh's shirts in the washing machine and the smell of garlic on one of them made me throw up then and there - at least it was in the washing machine so all got washed out very quickly!!

Dont you just love it?

On the plus side nearly 11 weeks now and have my scan in 12 days time!!

feel vile, sick and tired

although a bit better today, acutally managed to keep down breakfast and put some make up on.

Had lovely booking in appt with midwife yesterday, my bp is falling rapidly and that together with age (39) means I have to see a consultant (boo). Hopefully it will only be once and that will be it. Still haven't decided where to have the baby _ although its early days I have to choose between two hospitals. Midwife keeps suggesting home birth as dd2 was so super fast (woke up at 2am, she was born at 4am). decisions decisions.

bad news is I have already put on 10lbs!! really shocked. I have to eat a lot as its the onlything that stops me feeling sick but I am going to try and cut down a bit.

tortoiseshell · 07/10/2005 11:56

Sorry you're feeling vile Enid. Me too, though better than earlier this week when couldn't eat anything from Monday till today. Had booking appointment yesterday, saw same mw as with previous 2 pregnancies, she was lovely! Have booked homebirth again, after lovely homebirth with dd (which said mw delivered!). Hope the m/s is wearing off for most people now.

JJules · 07/10/2005 14:24

Hello all

I've just posted a message (my first) on the 'due in May 06' thread and now realise that you are all here! Not quite sure how this all works now and my first message was quite long-winded and i was after some reassurance! Do I need to re-write it here (techno-phobic!)not sure - Look forward to joining in - feels like first day of school!!

hockeymum · 07/10/2005 15:37

JJules - I've just had a pop over the pregnancy section and read your thread. Glad you have found us ok. What you are feeling is totally normal, the pains sound the same as mine and a few of us on this thread. They are ligament pains, your ligaments in your pelvis and abdomen stretching to make way for the baby. You notice these things a lot more in the first pregnancy as you dont know what is normal and what isnt and its hard when you are keeping things a secret till 12 weeks too.

With regards to the doctor, I find that if I go blank when I'm in there, I write a few points down before I go in so I've got something to check when I'm there. Hope that helps.

Congrats on the pregnancy though. When r you due, we've got an update thingy that littlemisspiggy kindly does every now and then. Keep us up to date on how you are and remember the only stupid question is the one you don't ask!

Welcome Jjules! what's your due date?

Just came on here to moan about how sick I'm feeling. 7+2. Threw up this morning for the 1st time (never had this with DS1-maybe it's a girl) just because I caught a faint whiff of incense in the kitchen (It was about 3 days ago that DH actually burnt it). Thanks for your words of reassurance, it does help. My E/D/D is 25th May 06. Hopefully these pains I'm having today will subside, really not enjoying this - ha! Feeling v.emotional too which working in a shop, speaking to people all day is not good, only have to read a few lines in the paper and i'm off to the loo for a good cry. Have a great weekend everyone!

lovecloud · 09/10/2005 11:47

hello everyone

just come on to moan and say hi

10 weeks yesterday.

my hormones are everywhere, could not watch x-factor yesterday without crying, i feel so irritable and dh is not very understanding. he just keeps saying "you've changed!" which is really unhelpful and annoying. i have to say i am surprised at how rubbish he has been this time. i am so much more than the first time and not once has he said "put your feet up darling and relax, i will make dinner and do some cleaning". Dont get me wrong, he does clean but only after I ask him twice!!!

Sometimes I just wish he was more thoughtful and went out of his way just for me. He has never once done anything to surprise me like organising a nigt out to the cinema or just a meal etc. Even though I have organised many surprise occasions for him.

He can be caring and is a great dad but it is not enough for me. He never makes me feel special.

He always says he is not a romantic and I think that is a lame excuse. If I bring this up, he gets angry and will say that I am not that kind of bloke and maybe i chose wrong... Which always makes me angry as that is rubbish. I love him and from the beginning would always show it. Now because of the way he is with me, I dont really got out of my way for him now...

Guess this should be on another thread.

Maybe I ask for too much and maybe its my hormones but if this is the way I fel now what will it be like in 10 years???

moan moan moan...

... i feel sick.

TheRtHonBaronessEnidOBE · 09/10/2005 12:50

ah lovecloud

he'll probably be better in 10 years when he has finally adjusted to being a dad

dh was exactly the same when i was pg with dd2. luckily for some reason he is being very good this time round. I also feel much better about insisting he make dinner etc etc. We are taking it in turns atm, could you suggest that?

oh and btw you are not alone I also blubbed in the X factor and went on to be inconsolable during The Cider House Rules

sniff · 09/10/2005 15:34

I am ignoring my DH so far you have got big quickly I am sure your alright and can you just cook breakfast are the only words he has come up with today !!!!!!!!!

he is getting to complacent !!!

tortoiseshell · 09/10/2005 17:34

Hello, have actually managed to eat something today and not be sick! Yay!!!!

Lovecloud, I've been weeping at everything too. Ridiculous things like Woman's Hour and the Lottery 'In it to win it'. Have been totally over emotional. Think it must be hormones!

Have got scan on Friday, so keep fingers crossed for then! Hope everyone else is ok, getting over the sickness!

Spoo · 09/10/2005 18:24

Every sympathy to you Love cloud. I feel that DH is not quite as sympathetic as last time. His mantra is 'This is the last time you will feel like this'. He is also saying that he doesn't want me to 'vanish' for 15 mnths and be replaced by a dragon. I think it is difficult the second time as you have all the same symptoms (if you are unlucky) and not as much excitement.

I also think that if you have another baby / toddler to worry about - you and bump are not on the list of high priorities. I have to say though DH has been good with cooking (as I am sick whenever I go in the kitchen).

I suggest you get yourself some ready meals in for the next few months if Dh is not prepared / able to cook - and order in the take aways - does anyone else find that fish and chips are a great m/s cue??

P.S. I cried to the X factor last night as well - although I am not sure whether it was pregnancy hormones or my normal overly sensitive nature!
