Sharon, yes. Sadly, I then had to take the studs out when I found out i was pregnant! I waited until the 12 week mark, but then out came the belly button, nipple, and tongue studs. The tongue was the hardest one to lose as I had it 7 years, but it wasn't really practical with the sickness etc..

pinkminx79 · 31/08/2005 14:23

wow that belly bag looks fab...but the price!!!! oh dear, lol

xx

LilJ · 31/08/2005 14:23

Sweltering today in un-air-conditioned office. Why did the summer have to finally arrive when we're in our third trimester??

I'd love to join in the meet-up but work full time and not planning on going on leave until end of Oct, but might be able to sneak out of work for an afternoon (for an 'important meeting') if date works out . I'm in North London so Angel is good for me.

I've been doing pregnancy yoga which has been great, especially meeting other expectant mums in my neighbourhood. Belly dancing sounds treacherous though - dancing with a deadly weapon if my bump is anything to go on.

Otherwise feeling great but getting tired very easily and eating loads - my addiction top Percy PIgs has now extended to a bigger bag of Percy Pigs and friends - no wonder I now weigh more than my brother!

Pinkminx, I personally would recommend taking it out. I know it's really hard to let go of them, but it's for the best considering how messy things are likely to get down there. You can always get them re-done when you've finished having children. I fully intend to get the nipples, and maybe belly done again.

novadandypowder · 31/08/2005 14:28

mmmmmmm percy pigs (does homer like drool)

pinkminx79 · 31/08/2005 14:32

yeah, i'm worried i've left it too late LOL i'm still keeping all my other piercings though.

I fainted having my ears done and vowed never again. Seems quite tame now!

novadandypowder · 31/08/2005 15:53

I joined on here after 20wks so haven't seen you mention it before, but promise I won't run away .

I'd love a bit of rain here, apparently it's due to thunderstorm tomorrow, so i'll just have to hold out for some respite until then. Hopefully it will happen after i've been for my waxing appt.

Seems that all is ok with kitten bite, except that doctor scared me by saying i had a small risk of contracting toxoplasmosis from it!!!! Thankfully I've done my research on it and know that it's a ridiculously small chance, in fact i have a bigger chance of getting it from my own cats who are outside all day.

ChaCha · 31/08/2005 16:04

Well it's raining here!! Am glad but not so happy about having to rescue heaps of washing.

Nova - glad bite is nothing serious.

See yall later.

LilJ · 31/08/2005 16:10

Please send some rain to Canary Wharf!! It's 34 degrees in my office today - too hot to think, let alone work.

Lil J

Enthusia · 31/08/2005 16:11

Nova - My cat was bitten by a rat recently and the bite went really nasty. I had to clean it twice a day as well as give tablets. Cat would not come near me with gloves so had to do it bare handed. Apparently this also carried a risk - ie transferrence of infection, but there are only so many things you can do/not do aren't there?!

Hope it doesn't hurt too much!!!

pinkminx79 · 31/08/2005 16:30

nose
labret, upper and lower
tongue
ears (plus stretched)
and the 'other' LOL

novadandypowder · 31/08/2005 16:31

Yeah I've also had to clean up various bites/infections on our cats, but hadn't actually thought about any risk from that though - whoops! My blood tests so far have confirmed that i've never been exposed to toxoplasmosis though, so i must be doing something right.

I feel like i'm going to wash my hands away with the number of times i clean them, and i'm always cleaning the kitchen surfaces, but as you say, there's only so much you can do..

novadandypowder · 31/08/2005 16:31

thought i'd heard it all - whats labret?? sounds rude...

pinkminx79 · 31/08/2005 16:37

lower lip, i have the 'madonna' upper lip as well, but i took that on out.
I only have one rude one

LilJ - would be good if you could sneak out of work and join us too.

CADS - DS is welcome - bring him along.

So, I'm thinking Friday 9 September - how does that sound?

Enthusia · 31/08/2005 17:49

Sounds good to me!!

tex111 · 31/08/2005 19:17

9 Sept sounds good to me too but I'll need to bring DS along if no one minds. He's 3. Cads, how old is your DS? Maybe they can entertain each other.

tessasmum · 31/08/2005 20:14

Meet up sounds great but I'll be another one with toddler in tow, think ours are about the same age CADS. 9th sounds good here too.

Watch out REALLY PROUD MUMMY ALERT
We did baby signing with Tessa and over a year ago responded to a plea for stories/anecdotes for a British baby signing book. Well, got our complementry copy yesterday and not only did one of our stories get in but also a big photo of Tessa signing. As its one of the few photos of a baby actually signing we have been asked by Press Association for permission to use it in publicity. If anyone comes across any articles I'd be really grateful if you could keep a copy for me.
Book is called 'Joseph Garcia's Complete Guide to Baby Signing'
ALERT OVER

OK, off to try and find breeze to lie in and keep fingers crossed for thunder.

Enthusia · 01/09/2005 06:31

Tessa - well done on getting Tessa's piccie in book, she must have been the best looking child - will def keep an eye out for it or any other articles. Did you find baby signing good? I am mixed about it at the mo as have seen some problems at the school I worked where baby signing led to a slowness and reluctance to developing speech which put the children behind(They were in the nursery, not my year 3 class). However I have also heard excellent things about it and it seems, like a good idea - I know makaton signing can be very useful and have used that for special needs etc in the past.

DH left even earlier this morning. This is no time to be up. Especially before bubs is born - going back to bed. Thought I'd just check up on any messages from last night!

LilJ - maybe?

Suggest we meet at 12:30 at Wagamammas in the N1 Centre, Angel Islington. The N1 centre is opposite the Angel tube station, and Wagamammas is upstairs.

Can people CAT me their proper names and mobile numbers and I will circulate to the rest of those meeting up, in case of problems.

CADS · 01/09/2005 09:22

Wagamammas is great!! Absolutley love their food, use to go every friday when I worked, so definitely have no problems with your pick. However, I can only come if I can get someone to look after ds. DH is going to see if he can get the day off so I'll confirm tonight. Also, date and time works for me too.

Tex & Tessa - DS is only 18mnths, he'll bore your little ones. He is at that horrible stage where he doesn't want to sit still, I keep inspecting is nappy for ants but just can't see them, maybe I should use I microscope. By the time I have travelled 40mins on the train to London, I will be a nervous wreck, and won't be good company. Besides, on a selfish note, it will be nice to attend a social event without having to worry about my little monkey.

Tessa - You are definitely entitled to your PROUD MOMMY status. Wish I'd done baby signing.

Chacha - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Have fantastic day.

Sharon - Glad doctor is getting you sorted out. I always find male doctors aroggnat when it comes to pregnancy and babies, maybe it's because they don't really have a clue. Hope no ones dp/dh is a doctor. Also, I don't think you're the oldest on here.

Pinkminx - Belly bag is expensive but comfortable, you can always sell it afterwards and get some money back. I find some days my back and hips hurt so much that even lying on back/side is really uncomfortable and all I want to do is lie on my tummy. Also, when I was in labour with ds it was to painful to lie on my back or sit so I had to either kneel or stand the entire time, eventually knees and feet where sore too. I am hopeing if the same happens this time, that the belly bag will give me a chance to rest me feet and knees.

Beks - Hope you enjoyed Brighton and the heat wasn't too much for you. I keep swelling like the snowman (whatever he was) from Ghostbusters, in this heat.

DS has his ENT appt this afternoon, please keep everything crossed that they will finally put a stop to all his ear problems. (Yeah right, when hell freezes over)

Haven't read through this so ignore the stupid mistakes.

Take care
