Hello ladies,

Snowfalls, I am so sorry :(. I hope you have plenty of support in RL.

A very warm welcome to tlat! I know exactly how you feel - excited one minute and petrified the next. All we can do now is keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best :).

Regarding exercise, I am a bit scared to keep running, because I don't know if I can trust myself not to push it too hard. Anxious first timer here :). But I was feeling so drained of energy for the last few days that I decided to get a couple of second hand pregnancy fitness DVDs on ebay. I would highly recommend it! I did a pregnancy yoga session (50 mins) yesterday and today and I feel so much better and more energetic. In my experience, it really helps with feeling and looking bloated too. I also have this one, which is meant to be great, but I have not tried it yet.

Ulysess, aren't the Pregnacare tablets massive? I just keep them on the kitchen worktop and swallow them after my main evening meal with lots and lots of water. As for coffee, I am still very keen on it, although I do find that I crave orange juice a lot more. I might give decaf a go.

Sticky baby dust for everybody, hope you're not feeling too bad today!

Petalouda · 12/08/2010 13:18

Morning all,

NotAnotherNewNappy - realistically, I know I'm not 'showing', but man my belly is huge! I'm usually a size 8-10, and weeks ago - it must've been about a fortnight after I conceived (completely oblivious, of course) I was on a course and only took the one pair of jeans, towards the end of the course I was amazed to find I was struggling to get into them. I gradually moved into my 'big' jeans (they were cheap, I wore a belt!) and was already finding those too tight around my middle by the time we tested on 29th July.

I'm now rocking the hairband-around-the-button look on my trousers.

Fortunately, the cramping has subsided and my belly seems less sensitive as of yesterday. I was panicking, thinking I'd have to buy maternity trousers already!

On the plus side, just measured my bust, I'm up a cup size already! Should I buy a maternity bra? Thoughts please!

Zidonie · 12/08/2010 14:02

Petalouda, hairband-around-the-button is GENIUS!!! Never thought of it before.

I'm a size 8 too and I know all my jeans will be too tight soon, especially now that I'm dumping my three weekly runs. But at 5 weeks it's too early for maternity clothes.

Sorry to see you go snowfall, take care of yourself.

salsarocks · 12/08/2010 16:36

Hi, can I add myself to the list? I'm 35 and found out a week ago that I'm expecting a 3rd surprise (edd 14th April) not told DH yet, gulp! Been feeling OK until today - have horrendous backpain. Not sure if its pregnancy related though and prob down to my spritely 2year old and 4 year old using me as a human climbing frame!

Ulysses · 12/08/2010 19:30

I'm a right bloater too. I caught a glimpse at myself in the mirror today and just thought how grim I looked. Where's my glow?!

On another cheery note I have all-day nausea, mostly horrendous retching but actual sick too a few times today. However, I did actually forget about it when I was in three separate meetings today so I am edging to thinking it may be psychosomatic. To be fair, the thought that I might be able to think it away does please and I will try to keep my mind off it by indulging in mn, rubbish telly and other idle pursuits. I did add the Life & Style package on to my Sky last week but I can't bear to look at the birth scenes just now. It all seems to far away anyway...

Enjoy your holiday justkeepswimming!

tlat · 12/08/2010 20:15

Is anyone else a bit weepy? i was so weepy this afternoon I worried the dogs! Just generally worried that I am too happy too early..then stupidly freaked myself out googling the risk of early MC. Just wish it was further along enough for an early scan! Is this just hormonal? Anyone else getting an early scan privately for fetal heart reassurance?

Thaney · 12/08/2010 21:33

tlat, I'm thinking about getting an early scan. I work away alot as an event manager and my weeks 9, 10 & 11 are going to be totally hectic so I think I need to tell my boss and hopefully she'll cut me some slack. Don't really want to tell her until I know things are OK though.

Sunshine28 · 12/08/2010 23:00

Hi Thaney, I'm the same as you. Have several hectic work trips coming up and think I will have to tell my boss sooner than I would have hoped.

Tlat - I had an early scan as wasn't sure how far gone I was (have irregular periods). Got it done in a great place for only £50 which I thought was good. They did have to insert the camera as was too early to do as a normal scan. However could still see everything and heard the baby's heartbeat.

Hope all of you ladies are feeling ok. I am off to bed. Yawn!

tlat · 13/08/2010 03:06

Hi Thaney and Sunshine, I am glad that I'm not paranoid getting an early scan! I do also need to tell the boss sooner rather then later as I get radiation exposure at work (am currently off for other reasons)...eeeks!
Sunshine, how far along were you when you had the scan? I thought they couldn't hear the heartbeat till the 7th week at least. I was going to force myself to wait till 8 weeks, but it would take a load off my mind if i could just hear the heartbeat!

gormers · 13/08/2010 06:47

Morning all!

Just Keep Swimming - Congratulations!! I knew you were in for getting a BFP! Great to have another Viroid on this thread!! Our leader ihaveaplan is about on here somewhere too.

Occ nausea but passes really easily with some mints or Ginger tea - I suspect the bad stuff is still to come!

Constantly worry myself that this bean won't stick, which actually stops me getting as excited as I want to. Never really thought about getting an early scan, was just going to wait for the booking ap'ment. Can't even get to my GPs until next Saturday!

Hope you all have a good Friday, a sober weekend lies ahead for us all ladies. I was supposed to be going to a beer festival! Think that's now out the window

mole2 · 13/08/2010 08:04

Hi, just wanted to add myself, EDD 17/4/11.

Been TTC since diagnosed with blighted ovum just before last Xmas- a real shock to realise we actually had to try for longer than 2 weeks this time!
1st child now 5, born 9 months 25 days after removal of implanon, 2nd pregnancy above- not planned- was thanks to mirena falling out (probably about 3 months without contraception with hindsight).
I had just about given up after 7 months of irregular (29 to 37 day) cycles. Had a faint positive 2 days ago (CD31)- only came up after the 10-min time limit for the test.
Following day was positive at 4 mins.

Bit ambivalent about posting at all given what happened last time.

Hi all

just tentatively adding myself to the list as got a faint line this morning, cd32 ucl 30-31. Did think I was coming on a couple of days ago as had a bit of brown blood/mucus but nothing much since. Had a miscarriage 9 months ago and have been ttc since then. I have one dd 3.3

No symptoms as of yet but it is very early days, hoping for the best and staying positive. Am 40 at the end of the year and it would be the best present I could have Smile

Just rang the docs. They don't want to see me until week 8/9. Is this normal? I'm sure I went in after about 5 mins last time.

Big congrats to Mipi, Mole2 & Misswoowoo

Salsarocks - have you told your DH yet?

Sunshine28 · 13/08/2010 12:39

Hi Tlat - I was 6 weeks plus 1 day according to the nurse when I got my early scan and definitely could hear the heartbeat at that stage (though it was an internal scan rather than the normal one). She said that if I had gone a week earlier, I wouldn't have seen or heard anything. It may depend on the equiment the scan place is using. Also I think that possibly I am a week further ahead than she predicted but due to irregular periods and bad memory, I can't confirm this :)

salsarocks · 13/08/2010 13:16

Going to tell DH tonight. Have bought a nice dinner and bottle of wine - at least he can drink it all! I've been dropping very obvious hints all week and he doesn't get any of them. We've just given our pram, cot etc to my brother and his wife who had a baby last week and DH was getting v excited about booking a family skiing holiday in March - don't think thats going to happen now.

Wish me luck!!! Smile

tlat · 13/08/2010 13:20

Welcome mole2, mipi75 and misswoowoo!

Thanks for that info Sunshine28...guess I just need to BE PATIENT! Grin Arrrgh!

Good luck with telling the DH salsarocks!

sprinkling sticky baby dust around forum!

NotAnotherNewNappy · 13/08/2010 14:08

Good luck salsarocks!!!

I asked DH last night why he didn't seem quite as excited as when we found out we were expecting DD1. He said that this time he knows nothing happens for absolutely ages Hmm

Sunshine28 · 13/08/2010 15:59

Good luck Salsarocks. My partner has been taking full advantage of polishing off the wine now that I am off it!

MummyWithA1Family · 13/08/2010 16:05

Sorry but I must bow out of this lovely thread. I got the results from my hcg blood test today and it showed I wasn't pregnant this month but instead had leftover hormones from last month. Dr said I mc'd last month when I had a strange and very long cycle. I didn't know I was pregnant but now I do I'm gutted to have lost my 7th baby.

Good luck to you all. I hope your all holding a beautiful baby in your arms soon and not, like me, in your heart.

Take care everyone. Good luck for the next 7-8 months xxx

NotAnotherNewNappy · 13/08/2010 16:09

Oh MummyWithA1Family - I am so so sorry xxx
