Had my scan this week, and all is good. It's lovely now to be able to tell everyone and speak completely openly about it - although I have been so sick that lots of people at work already knew!!

Talking of which, I think I may be getting a bit better now. Definitely not being sick as often, but still far from glowing!!

Now we've had the scan we've done our first bit of shopping. The tiny newborn clothes are sooooo cute!!!

Hilarious day today with MIL and Great-MIL.

Then she stomped off to find DH and gave him a big lecture about how he shouldn't be letting me do anything, bend to load the dishwasher etc. DH, who has been a star throughout this and my previous pregnancy was and I just cracked up. And then gently asked her how she thought I managed when DH was at work, and she looked a bit stumped, bless her :)

I can feel movements too, been feeling some squirming for a few weeks, but today there were 3 definite kicks/pokes at 3 different times during the day! :)

Hi All

Hello and congratulations to all the new posters and chin up to those going through dissapointments x.

Haven't posted for ages as I am hoping that these boring early weeks would go quicker if I just carried on as normal.

Today is scan day though, so, all being well, I can start being publically pregnant tomorrow! It's just as well really because by late afternoon I can't get my trousers fastened!

Still no symptoms to speak of, boobs sore (if I press them!) and massive! And the odd bit of stretchy pain/ wind . Managing to skip past the sickness though (hope I'm not speaking too soon here!)

Anyway, wish me luck, I'll hopefully have a due date later today, I think I'm between 12 and 14 weeks (hope it's the latter!)

Oh God the hunger. I'm 15 weeks today and I'm STARVING.

Luckily I keep fancying vegetable sticks and hummus but at the moment I'm having my 'elevenses' at 10am! Anyone else got this problem?

JustKeepSwimming I am feeling movements on and off aswell (much earlier than with DS)

Had a horrible day yesterday, went out to practise driving with my Dad, was doing fine, was quite pleased with myself then went to park outside my house and managed to hit another car tried to turn into a parking space, realised I wasn't going to get past the car in the next space so went to hit the brake but put my foot on the wrong pedal I could not believe it and immediately burst into uncontrolable tears. Luckily the damage was limited and nobody was hurt but it was a bit of a shock to my hormonal not all that confident system!! I know these things happen but I still can't help beating myself up about it.
Oh well I am glad I have been feeling movement as it was a great relief to feel a few somersaults after that.

Stuffed - it is horrible to even bump into another car so my sympathies, i did it the other day, really slowly so no damage done and i had the 2 boys with me so couldn't break down though i wanted to.

Cycle - totally! I was awake in the night starving last night, may prepare by taking something to bed tonight as i could not face getting out of bed to root around in the kitchen and find something

Anyone got their 2nd trimester energy boost yet? still waiting here...and Dh did ask yesterday when i was supposed to feel more lively

stuffed :( You poor thing it is horrible to even make a small mistake in the car. A few weeks ago I got the pedals all mixed up and managed to stall in the middle of a huge roundabout - fortunately nothing was coming, things go round it at 30-40 mph and we would have been crunched. Hope you had something restorative like chocolate!

JKS - not really. I am just less tired than I was!

I have had the energy boost! It started last week and, weirdly, it's worried me. Now that the sickness and exhaustion is gone I just feel fat and not at all pregnant. Ridiculous I know, but still.

Oh Stuffed, how pants. I can't drive and, if I'm honest, am a bit frightened to try...

i had my scan a bloods today - all okay - downs risk only 1 in 2793 and I'm 35 so pretty good. Best news though is that I'm having a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We've got two little boys already so having a girl is just the icing on the cake.

My brother told us yesterday that his wife is pg too, due April 23rd so only a week after me :)

Of course being her first she has no bump or aches at all, grr!

Mouse - i have 2 boys too, and also hoping to hold out but DH would like to know so not sure what will happen at 20 weeks...:)

I told him if he can wait 20 weeks why can't he wait another 20 weeks?! And they did offer at my 12wk scan (which they didn't use to do) but i said NO! rather loudly!
Anyway DH convince he saw boys bits as the guy was asking....

I honestly don't mind, I like the idea of 3 boys and it would be very practical, but then would like the change of a girl and I think a girl as she gets older would be 'interesting'!!

I like surprises, if I found out it'd be like peeping at the presents before Christmas....oddly dissapointing.

The sonographer didn't say anything at ours. Best just let DH think he knows!!

Okay I'm outing myself - and have changed my EDD (so you can do detective work to find out who I was) - 2 anxious scans later. I have a raft of blood tests, monthly doctors appointments, an appointment with the hospital's chief midwife and another scan booked and I'm apparently low risk. God bless the French.

But everything is okay! Obstetrician offered to tell us the sex too but I don't think we want to know. How can they tell at this early stage anyway?! I'm kind of tempted to give in and fond out now it's been offered but I don't think DH is keen.

No sickness but extreme fatigue, odd twinges when I push myself too far at yoga but an anterior placenta means no feral movement yet :( oh well - it might move!

Frak - sorry but LOL at feral movement, they do resemble wild animals at times :) Sorry you're not feeling anything yet though, hopefully it will move, plenty of uterus growing to do still & glad you're now low risk :)

Mouse - i also don't mind, sounds cruel to say i don't care, we've had lots of medical issues with DS2 so it really is a case of we just want a healthy baby please.
I know we'll get crass comments either way:
BOY - you must be so disappointed
GIRL - you must be so relieved

I have always planned on having 4, so think the comments will just get worse, if we have a boy this time, then a girl, or if we end up with 4 boys. Have to get some answers ready!

I had an odd one last night. I was out straight from work and didnt get in til 10. It was a standing event. And not much food to be had but i wasnt hungry, had a slice of toast when i got in just to be safe! DH had been resealing the shower. I was only in the bathroom long enough to wash my face though. And i had some Lillies that needed the pollen cutting out so i did them. While i was washing my face i started feeling a bit odd and by the time i got to bed the room was spinning. It was like being drunk without the alcohol, ihadnt even had a sip. It settled down eventually and i fell asleep. I also had back pain in my lower left side of my back all afternoon and evening.
Any ideas?

kitty how do you feel this morning? Could be signs of a UTI maybe - did you get to drink much water etc while you were out yesterday?
I do get dizzy though, normally if I try and do too much when it's been a while since I've eaten. Yesterday for example decided have a big tidy before I got the lunch ready - big mistake, it made me feel really wobbly.

I had my scan last Friday and all good, bubba in there, snoozing away, and all limbs present and correct. phew. Didn't get offered the gender, which is just as well as I would have been tempted to shout yes and DH doesn't want to know. Moved my EDD a couple of days earlier too - woohoo! Still waiting for the ever elusive 2nd trimester energy return and glow...
