Hey BeetleBaby! Glad there's another first timer here!
I know what you mean about the old/young paradox, I'm 29 and was the first in our group of friends to get married, and as far as I know, am the first preggo one!
My little sis, who still lives in the village where we grew up (and where, at age 18 they asked her why she wanted the implant, and wasn't she thinking about starting a family soon - and that was the local GP!), is expecting her first at 25 (she's way ahead at 23 weeks, and is not the first in her peer group.
We're off to the doc's tomorrow to see what they say. It's been a week since we tested, and I've gone through the 'oh sh*t, maybe AF will come anyway' all the way to the knicker-checking at every wee and becoming concerned when I don't feel sick! I'm really scared about telling work (I'm a teacher, so glad I've got this time for it to sink in!), they only just gave me a perm contract, and my manager pretty much told me it was a case of take-a-ticket-and-wait-your-turn in terms of maternity leave in our mostly-female department.
And like you, BeetleBaby we thought we'd start relaxing about things a little, and then start trying properly about February time. Then, not 6 hours after deciding this, Bingo! And I thought I'd be too decrepid for this to happen so soon!
Still, it'll be a bit tight, financially, and work are going to hate me, but we're excited!
Thanks for the list Stuffedmk!
How's everyone else doing? I'd be interested to see what kind of symptoms people are having (mainly to see if I'm "normal"!).
