Hello everyone & welcome newbies,

Is anyone else finding it really hard to stay awake all day? I'm almost 13 weeks now and suddenly my symptoms have floored me - morning sickness has got worse instead of better and I am absolutely exhausted.

Not easy to cope with while potty training a toddler who's just hit the TERRIBLE twos! Roll on 2nd semestre Grin

NearlyANovelist · 27/09/2010 21:07

Ooops - posted that after I namechanged for another thread and forgot to change back Blush

MrsMogwai · 27/09/2010 21:20

Hello! Not been back to catch up often enough. So sad to see a few people leave. Really hope they get pregant again soon.

Had my 12 week scan today. I'm 12+0 and the dating scan agrees. Decided not to have the Down's screening etc. Loved the whole process today. Got to see the baby wake up and start moving around, waving and kicking. Even got to see it's mouth opening and closing! Heard the hearbeat (170bpm) for the first time too. I was totally grinning from ear to ear with tears of joy running down my face. Amazing experience. Can't wait for the next one at 21 weeks!

I was surprised at how quickly I could recognise things. The sonographer barely had to point anything out as I was telling DH what everything was myself. Maybe I'm in the wrong job? Lol!

My morning sickness has really started to dissipate this last week. Managed to eat meat which I thought I'd never be able to do again after how off putting it was for a while. Still not keen on overly strong flacours, but so happy things are getting back to normal.

Headaches have become a bit of a headache though! Taking Paracetamol daily. GP has given me the green light to take it up to 4 times daily for back pain if needed, so not worried about having it once a day at the moment.

Hope everyone else is progressing nicely! Can stop window shopping and start proper shopping soon!

josie314 · 27/09/2010 23:24

Hello!

It took me a while to find this thread, but here I am! I'm due on 29 April and it will be my first. So hi all!

LadyBaiter · 28/09/2010 10:08

Hello...not sure if I should join yet, as I'm not entirely sure of my due date...but I'm pretty sure it's sometime in April Grin

Pregnancy a complete shock (on the pill) and taking a while to get used to the idea (DH more so than me).

Got a BFP two weeks ago, but Doc's being useless. Was told a week ago I'd be booked in for a dating scan asap, but now thats changed and I have to see MW first, she's coming tomorrow.

This will be our third, have two boys already.

No- one knows yet, and I'm dying to talk about it, so hope you ladies don't mind me joing in?

caramellokoalalover · 28/09/2010 10:35

Hello! Wow, so great to see so many new people, welcome Smile

I think some of you have been secretly spying on my cupboard as the past week or so jam doughnuts and Dairy Milk have been my staples Blush. Needless to say I'm feeling (and probably looking) a bit flabby and unattractive. This, and the sickness, are totally putting me off any bedroom action. Is anyone else out there the same? Poor DH...

10 days until my scan...can't wait! Have a good day everyone Smile

1stTimeMother · 28/09/2010 10:45

errr yes, caramellokoalalover, I can't face bedroom action at the moment and am only 10+4..but it's more because I feel so terrible especially at night, that moving just makes me more nauseous!!!!

Please can someone who's had children tell me this passes? DH is being amazing and patient but it's still slightly worrying me.

Also - this morning, really bad dizziness kicked in. Joy.

AprilMeadow · 28/09/2010 11:24

Hello to all the newbies and so pleased to see all the good scan details :)

NaN, i'm nearly 14wks and my symptoms have ramped up again just after they started to fade :(

1stTimeMother, it does pass! This is dc4 for me and i havent so much as looked at dh in that way since we conceived!! Normally well into the 2nd trimester and symptom free before i feel like looking at him again :)

Off to go and look after ds who is off school with a sick bug.... just what i need when i am trying not to vom myself!!

LadyBaiter · 28/09/2010 12:00

So is everyone suffering at the moment then? Had awful sickness last week, but easing off it seems this week, but I think I'm just managing it better. Eating little and often seems to be helping, I can't manage a big meal and feel really quesy after a couple of hours eating nothing. With DS1 nothing would help. Funny though - I can't face anything 'bad', just craving lots of fresh things, salad, fruit etc!

AprilMeadow · 28/09/2010 12:02

I'm having to do the little and often eating but am fairly stressed out at the moment and that doesnt really help the nausea :( Hoping that it should ease off in the next 3wks

LadyBaiter · 28/09/2010 12:05

Oh no, can imagine it doesn't help. I had lots on last week, but ended up slobbing on the sofa all day as it was too much to cope with! How old are your other DC?

AprilMeadow · 28/09/2010 12:07

Ds is 5 and just started Yr1, Dd1 is 3 & Dd2 was 1 a weeks ago :)

LadyBaiter · 28/09/2010 12:09

Lovely age gaps! My two are 4 (just started reception) and 18mo.

JoEW · 28/09/2010 12:27

Hello everyone! Lots of action on here today. While we on the subject of what not to eat, I have just munched my way through half a bag of Haribo (the big 'family' bag), that's on top of eating an apple, a nectarine and a bowl of cereal (oh yes, trying to be SO healthy!) and I am just considering getting going on lunch. I don't seem to have meals anymore, just eating and sleeping.

Petalouda your comment about taking a packed lunch to bed made me laugh. That's brilliant, I might try it too.

Also not been over enthusiastic in the bedroom department. I was a bit paranoid at first as it seemed to cause some slight bleeding (TMI) and now I just can't be arsed. Hope it doesn't last too long as DH is already looking a bit sorry for himself.

Great news for everyone that's had scans, mine's a week tomorrow and counting.

1stTimeMother · 28/09/2010 15:04

thanks aprilmeadow - I'll try to console DH with the fact that he's not alone!!! And I look forward to it all passing.

Was doing well on the eating healthy aspect till a Cadbury's twirl was the only thing I could face this morning... Blush

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 28/09/2010 16:18

Hello everyone :) I really must keep up better with this thread!

Really sorry to see MissWooWoo go :(

I'm 14+3 today, EDD is 26th March, must update the list as I think Petalouda and I are in the wrong order which is upsetting me Grin

I'm not feeling so sick any longer, just knackered still and my bump is really showing. I look like I did at 5 months with DS and I'm only 3.5 Blush

Have somehow managed not to put on any weight yet despite eating everything in sight! Must try and reign it in a bit, am already overweight and could do with not putting on anything all pregnancy if possible.

Good luck to those with scans coming up, I've got my next one in only 6 weeks - it's flying by now :)

newbie30 · 28/09/2010 16:23

Hey there. I'm due 5th April. 1st one and really nervous.

Thankfully getting over the sickness, just in the last week or so. Before that was going to bed every night with a banana and cereal bar for the morning - made getting out of bed just about possible. DH is also relieved the sickness has passed as he was getting fed up finding half eaten bananas around the house Blush

Liv77 · 28/09/2010 16:39

I finally got my midwife booking appointment through the post today. With 3 days notice of the appointment. I phoned them up and asked to reschedule as it was such short notice to arrange childcare for my son and there's no way i'm dragging him along to an appointment which according to them takes approx an hour. I'm now going next Wednesday during work time Grin

I am now 13+3 and had my scan 2 weeks ago. The annoying thing is it states in the letter how important it is to have the booking before the scan. This is my 2nd PG and the 2nd time i've had the scan before the booking app. The words piss up and brewery spring to mind. Angry

Cyclebump · 28/09/2010 16:40

I'm due on the 4th with my first and am similarly relieved that the sickness appears to have passed.

Bananas are still not on my list of edibles though!

Liv77 · 28/09/2010 16:40

Forgot to say a big hello and welcome to the newbies {smile}

kitty1981 · 28/09/2010 16:45

Hello everyone, I'm a new one too. My due date is the 11th and it will be my first.

Feel as if I'm just coming alive again after 8 weeks of awful sickness - I've vomited in all sorts of exciting places every hour of the day and felt constantly nauseous. Am a teacher and have run out of so many classes it must be obvious to everyone what's going on! Now on 4th vomit free day and fingers crossed it lasts.

kittycatcat · 28/09/2010 16:47

Liv77 i have my scan at 9.45 on 14th and midwife appt after it at 10.30 on 14th. At least they are on the same day i guess.

JustKeepSwimming · 28/09/2010 18:00

Kitty - that sounds bad :( i hope it has pssed for good for you.

I was feeling ok actually, then today i've felt so crap all day it's untrue :( headache, feeling like i'm going to be sick. etc.

Also had my MW booking in appt, raised some eyebrows as a) i declined the GTT test (have had the test twice and no diabetes) 2) i've declined the nuchal fold bit of the scan & 3) i said i will have a home birth even though i had a c-s with DS2 (had a HB with DS1).

Got scan date for next Thurs can't wait.

Though in mat jeans today and look about 20weeks already!!
