Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Ohhh lady :( Thinking of you and hoping for a positive outcome.

Do try to stay positive. I think I posted on here that I had a uterine tear at 6/7 weeks - bleeding, cramping, small clot, didn't feel nauseous - and mini is apparently doing fine and has a heartbeat, so bleeding isn't always bad.

LadyGoneGaga · 08/09/2010 07:32

Thanks Ihaveaplan. It did happen with DS and he is fine but don't think it makes you any more relaxed about it. Will post back later with update.

kittycatcat · 08/09/2010 08:24

Fingers crossed for you lady

I have discovered the problem with liking a glass of wine with mates is they guess when you dont want one! One very chuffed mate last night. I feel huge today but had pizza for dinner so it might be bloating?!Need to get some new trousers ASAP.

MissWooWoo · 08/09/2010 09:11

more fingers crossing for you here Lady x

Liv77 · 08/09/2010 10:47

Hope all goes well lady

caramellokoalalover · 08/09/2010 11:04

Hope everything is fine Lady, will be thinking of you.

MrsWajs · 08/09/2010 16:12

Lady hope all has gone well for you today, keeping everything crossed for you.

Also sorry to hear your news wombat.

Wombat33 · 08/09/2010 16:27

Oh no LadyGoneGaGa I really hope everything was okaywhen you went for your scan. I'm keeping everything crossed!

Hope all is goingokay for ecuse too.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/09/2010 16:55

Wombat I'm really sorry to hear your news :(

Lady - fingers crossed that today went ok

First trimester is horrid, all the worry and feeling rank and nothing good happening yet.

I have had to cave in and get into maternity stuff, normal clothes just looked terrible and I felt all uncomfy. Feel much better, and no longer have to hold my belly in - hurrah.

My dating and nuchal fold scan is tomorrow! Appointment came through in the post today for next week but it was at a time when I was supposed to be visiting my parents and DH was in a meeting that he couldn't either move or get out of. So I rang them and they've given me tomorrow afternoon. I'm a bit scared now, even though I had a scan at 9 weeks and we saw the baby and a heartbeat - worried that there will be something wrong. I have no logical reason to think this, I am just being silly. Will update you all tomorrow afternoon :)

LadyGoneGaga · 08/09/2010 17:09

Well, sort of tentatively good news. They found an embryo with a strong heartbeat. But they also found quite a large area of "active bleeding" (apparently a retromembraneous bleed around the gestation sac). So heartbeat good, cervix closed good, bleeding not so good. Could go either way - could stop or I could miscarry - and just have to wait. They will rescan me in two weeks. And if anything changes I can ring them directly and they will slot me in.

The other worrisome thing is they only measured Pip at 6.1 and I KNOW s/he is 7.1 as I was charting and didn't do any SWI any later.

Wombat33 · 08/09/2010 17:46

Lady I am tentatively pleased for you that there was some good news today. A strong heartbeat has to be a good sign. As for the dates, I've read on various message boards and in books that it can be very difficult to date exactly at this early stage as the view the sonographer gets can be influenced by the tilt of the womans uterus. I'm no doctor, but it sounds feasible to me that they could be a week out. Please try not to worry yourself on that score. I will keep everything crossed that the bleeding stops and you get more good news in two weeks' time. Take care of yourself in the meantime and get lots of rest xxx

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/09/2010 18:04

LadyG I'm pleased about the heartbeat, that is a really good thing.

I was going to say the same as Wombat about the dating, it is very hard to get right in the early stages so please try not to worry too much.

MissWooWoo · 09/09/2010 08:58

morning lady, another tentative hurrah from me, wombat33* makes a lot of sense, I too have read things on here to suggest that dating can be tricky in the first trimester so please try not to worry and look after yourself.

Alibaba I think so many of us feel like this in the first trimester, it's such a pain isn't it? Good luck for this afternoon, will you be wearing your lovely new cords?

MissWooWoo · 09/09/2010 08:59

oops! didn't mean to bold all of that Blush

kittycatcat · 09/09/2010 09:38

Morning all.

Ditto hurrahlady fingers crossed.

It's offical. I cant do my trousers up. Today i had to fasten them with a safety pin. Must go shopping for mat troos for short people! Any suggestions?

MissWooWoo · 09/09/2010 10:56

I think alibaba is your lady for that kitty - no offence ali Wink

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 09/09/2010 11:16

kitty - I have got some nice cords from Next, and I have a pair of their maternity jeans from my last pregnancy which were good although they are still too big. I'm only 5'2" and the regular length is fine for me.

I've also got a pair of maternity leggings and some trousers from a website called Funmum. The trousers are basically stretchy all over, but not horrid and floppy - ie. they are not granny trousers! I'm wearing them today actually and they are sooo comfy and come almost up to my bra. They come in short, regular and long and the short length sit nicely just on my foot so I can wear them with ballet flats or with socks and loafers once it gets cooler.

kittycatcat · 09/09/2010 11:28

Fab. Thanks Alibaba

ecuse · 09/09/2010 13:57

So I just called the midwife and laid it on a bit thick about how worried I was because I don't "feel" pregnant and they've booked me in for an early scan - hooray! Going next Weds when I will be either 10+3 or 8+3 depending on who you believe. I can't decide if I'm actually worried or not, but at least this way I can at least see a heartbeat (or not) before I tell all the grandparents-to-be the following weekend.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 09/09/2010 16:28

ecuse I hope everything is ok - I'm sure it will be and you'll get all your symptoms in your third trimester :)

Scan went well, baby had grown the right amount since my early scan 3 weeks ago - so much bigger and clearer. The sonographer couldn't get a nuchal fold measurement though because it was coming up too small so I'm back there again a week tomorrow. She said it's a good sign, highly unlikely there is any thickening if it is still too small to measure at this stage.

Also they weighed me and I've lost weight despite eating all the carbs in sight for the last month! Can feel my appetite isn't so big today though so must be careful not to just keep stuffing and try and get back to fruit etc for snacks.

stuffedmk · 09/09/2010 17:32

Good news on the heartbeat lady keeping everything crossed for next scan.

I can't believe my scan isn't until the 24th...and I only had a scan on Monday lol.

kittycatcat · 10/09/2010 08:36

That's fab Alibaba

I fell asleep at half 9 last night. And i still feel tired.

AussieMum2Be · 10/09/2010 10:18

MissWooWoo · 10/09/2010 10:44

welcome AussieMum2Be, I'm a few days after you with a scan on 5th October (aaaaaaaaages away)

Got hardly a wink of sleep last night, couldn't get comfy, had a bit of "restless leg syndrome" , kept needing a wee, felt hungry aaaarrgghhh. DD at nursery this morning so think I will try and get a quick nap in before I pick her up. Am off to see Muse at Wembley tonight - I will be knackered!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend
