Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Asterias · 05/09/2010 11:30

I'm also living off crisps and forcing down toast and cereal when I can. I only ate crisps and microwave fries when I was pregnant last. I haven't been sick but the retching is getting more frequent. Also got overzealous bowels...

MissWooWoo · 05/09/2010 17:19

scoffing like a pig here now ... started off well yesterday with natural yoghurt and raspberries (in bed no less!) but it all went down hill from there, am ashamed to say I then went on to eat:

  • bacon sandwich on thick white bread
  • further slice of bread with butter and jam
  • 1/4 homemade tomato tart (tart being the size - of a baking tray Shock + coleslaw
  • 2 biscuits
  • something else which I simply cannot remember Confused
  • ham, cheese, mushroom omelette + another slice of thick white bread and butter
  • Shock Shock Shock a flake, peanut m&ms, bar of whole nut in the space of 1/2 hour Shock Shock Shock

so much for not putting on 4 stone this time round, if only the ms would kick in, everything just tastes so good at the moment! starting to get quite tired in the afternoons now too, thank goodness dd back at nursery next week so I'll be able to get a couple of naps in

Liv77 · 05/09/2010 19:39

My crisp of choice is currently Cheese and Onion Mccoys, it does make me wonder if i'm having a girl this time as my mum craved cheese and onion crisps with me but not my brother. With my DS i drank pints and pints of Tropicana Smooth Orange Juice. I'm surprised my pee wasn't orange Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 05/09/2010 19:55

Hi Asterias - you're due same day as me Grin. My DS is 2 and 3 months. Not feeling very sick at the mo which is freaking me out a bit. Roll on scan.

Anyone else piling on the weight? Have put on 5 pounds already and only 7 weeks on tuesday. Blush

gormers · 05/09/2010 20:09

Liviloo - so sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you.x

MissWooWoo - I'm with you on the white bread-athon! It seems to be the only thing that i can face a lot of the time, the over-riding sense of constant nausea has stopped me eating most things. Worryingly, I really can't face much fruit & veg at the moment - poor little thing definitely isn't growing off his 5 a day right now!

The MS has been really bad this week, although more like morning, lunch, afternoon & evening sickness! I keep having retching episodes just out of nowhere - work's getting pretty hard right now!

Told my parents early this week, and the in-laws this weekend. It was lovely to share the news finally. they were delighted, which makes it very exciting!!

Got scan date for 4th Oct - seems ages away, but at least now we have a date for telling everyone!!

MissWooWoo · 06/09/2010 09:10

gormers don't worry I couldn't face any fruit except bananas for the first 5 months when I was pregnant with dd - she is mad mad mad about fruit (wish I could say the same or veg but hey ho). Loving my fruit this time round, espcially raspberries and like you Liv77 I've got a thing about Tropicana juice, but I'm favouring "Orange Blush" it's got blood orange in it - just had to have blood orange! bizarre! wonder if I am having a boy?

Ladygonegaga I'm not feeling sick either which is a bit of a freak out for me too as was very ill with dd. Oh well they do say every pregnancy is different so maybe we're just lucky this time round? I'm yet to put on any weight (although feel bloated) and am 8 weeks tomorrow but then it's only in the last few days that I've started to really want to eat more than normal. Everyone's different aren't they? friend of mine put on quite a lot in the first trimester but then didn't put more than half a stone on for the rest of the pregnancy whereas with dd I was the other way.

caramellokoalalover · 06/09/2010 10:10

gormers i'm awful too on the fruit and veg front. i can manage apples but that's about it. am having to eat constantly to stave off the nausea to the point where by the evening i'm so bloated it's hideous.

not sure i'm packing on the weight just yet but i am very podgy around the middle already. with DS i didn't have a bump until 14/15wks. i think my stomach muscles are nonexistent! i'm very tempted to get the maternity jeans out from the back of the wardrobe and just let myself go to seed! Blush

ecuse · 06/09/2010 11:18

I'm just feeling pretty normal, which is freaking me out in itself. I think I'd like to feel pregnant now. Not completely wretched, but just a little bit pregnant. Time is going so SLOWLY and I'm excited and dying to tell people.

JoEW · 06/09/2010 11:23

I've already put on about four pounds - maybe more, I am too scared to get on the scales again now! First pregnancy and my jeans feel too tight and my chest looks startlingly huge - I am not one of the woman that delights in increasing my cup size!
Got the dates through for the first scan today - 6th October - very exciting but feels like months away and also sorted out the first maternity nurse visit. Had to change the date as I couldn't do the one that they gave me. NHS is brilliant for so many things but they REALLY don't get it when you say you can't do something because of a work committement, "you do know you can take time off work, dear"!!

JoEW · 06/09/2010 11:26

commitment rather - can't spell today.

stuffedmk · 06/09/2010 11:37

Had my scan this morning and saw bean wriggling around and a good strong heartbeat so am happy bunny today!
My food of choice at the moment to stop the nausea is carrot sticks.

LadyGoneGaga · 06/09/2010 11:45

My boobs got massive early on with DS. This time they haven't changed at all yet apart from having sore nipples. Maybe they will grow soon. I think because am still brestfeeding twice a day they are still in lactation mode so perhaps don't feel the need to do much growing? Lot of my trousers don't want to do up. but I can dress pretty casual in my office so mostly wearing leggings and long tops/dresses whichheicely cover up any incipient bumps. Got teh maternity clothes down out of the loft at weekend for washing though - just to see what I have. All looks pretty vile! Ican remembr being sooo desperate to get into maternity clothes and being sooo sick of them by the end.

ecuse yes, some evil b*stard has slowed down time especially for us. Still got at least 4 weeks until a possible scan (no date yet). G'ah! Anyone going to get a doppler/angel sounds and try and find heartbeat before scan? I'm sure that way madness lies but wonder whether it might reassure me?

ecuse · 06/09/2010 13:30

Heh. I just had lunch with my dad (who doesn't know I'm PG, we're waiting until we can get the whole family together on the 25th of this month). I'm 31, but he has two kids from a second marriage, my youngest sis is 15. He was joking about what a pain in the arse she's being (hormones!) and I was saying "oh well, Dad, she's the last one, you're almost done with it". And he looked all sad and said "I know, it's rubbish, I love babies, I think we should have more of them around". And I was DYING to tell him but I held back. I have the willpower of a saint.

MissWooWoo · 06/09/2010 14:36

know what you mean ecuse I am dying to tell my mum, have seen her 3 times since I found out but am holding back because of previous miscarriage, just want to get the all clear on the 12 week scan. Have a few friends that I feel I should tell too but both have fertility issues which puts me in a right faff ... but that's a whole other thread

congrats stuffedmk I have lurked a bit on another thread in pregnancy and so I know how relieved you must be

JustKeepSwimming · 06/09/2010 15:02

I am definitely growing out of clothes fast, need to get the Mat stuff out of the loft soon. I was the same with DS2, and i look back fondly at my DS1-pg pics when i didn't get anything bump like until about 15 weeks!! I was desperate for a bump then...

Think I have only put on a couple of pounds though, hoping not to pile on the stone like last 2 times but not likely really Grin

Loving tropical juices here too, with crushed ice & mint leaves - v good for the digestion :)

SaorAlba · 06/09/2010 16:05

I'm going to a wedding on Saturday and I no longer fit in my dress which is a bit of a disaster. It's my boobs that have grown the most too, so it's not like I can just hold myself in and grin and bear it. Will just have to buy another dress :(

Congratulations, stuffed that is great news :)

I am also desperate to tell my parents. Like you, ecuse my siblings are now 14 so not all that little any more and this will be the first grandchild. My mum is going to be so excited, which is the main reason for not telling them until after the first scan when we know things are okay. Only 2 weeks to go though, so hopefully I can hold out that long!

NotAnotherNewNappy · 06/09/2010 17:40

Big Congrats to Amylou32 and welshwombat - I can totally understand why you have both been cautiously happy about your pregnancies. It is such nerve wracking time, best of luck x

LOL at smell of a bloodhound - I spend my day with my head down, desperatley trying to avoid sniffing BO, bad breath and rubbish trucks.

SaorAlba - I just got back from a wedding this weekend. I grew out of my original dress too so I bought a maternity dress Shock I didn't know very many of the other guests and I decided I'd look better a little bit pregnant than a little bit fat. I am having to hold off posting the pics on facebook though!

In other news, my scales are broken Grin, I still haven't heard from the mid wife and my crips of choice are Nando's piri piri chicken.

NotAnotherNewNappy · 06/09/2010 17:43

Oh yes - and I am too exhausted spot typosWink

Wombat33 · 06/09/2010 17:48

Hi all. Worst fears confirmed here unfortunately :( I started spotting this morning. GP sent me to the Early Pregnancy Unit for a scan this afternoon and it was not good news (despite hubby buying a token for a photo 'just in case' - he's ever the optomist). I'll take myself off this list but wanted to wish you all well for a smooth and uneventful 7 1/2 months x

MissWooWoo · 06/09/2010 17:59

oh wombat really sorry to hear your sad news, take care of yourself x

SaorAlba · 06/09/2010 18:27

Sorry to hear your news wombat. Sending you lots of hugs.

Liv77 · 06/09/2010 18:34

Sending big hugs to wombat Sad

Petalouda · 06/09/2010 18:49

Massive hugs for wombat, it's so sad seeing people leave. :(

I booked my scan today (23rd Sept) and told the Head at school - I owe him as much notice as possible (am only a few days into a new perm contract, oops) and couldn't deal with the adrenaline rushes every time I saw him or anyone else from SLT.

I'm now 11 weeks(!) and since we're back to school, expecting time to start flying (thankfully).

Notanothernewnappy: on bloodhound-nose-watch - my most disgusting symptom yet is both seriously stinky sweating and the nasal capacity to smell myself constantly! It's revolting!! I disgust myself sometimes!

I've just finished reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth, it's brilliant and can't recommend it highly enough. Just got to convince DH to read it too now!

Take care all xxx

Asterias · 06/09/2010 20:18

Sorry Wombat :(

waves at ladygonegaga

Crisps of choice are frazzles. Dunno about weight, I don't own scales and like it that way :D but my waist disappeared last night! Nothing else seems fatter so must be bump or bloat again. Boobs are kingsize and my larger bras are hidden beneath house renovations so I'm just unattractiveky bulging instead.

Nausea is bad and constant, really had enough of it already. How did I last the whole pregnancy unable to eat and retching last time? 7 weeks tomorrow and I've already had enough!

LadyGoneGaga · 06/09/2010 20:30

Oh Wombat, I am so, so sorry to hear that. Gentle hugs. I hope you and DH look after each other and all goes well for you and you get your little bundle soon.
