Hi all

Peralouda glad DH is looking after you. I think my nausea is creeping back in too! The alarm is my cause of frustration at the moment. When i roll over to turn it off i squash my tender boobs Blushand a muscle pulls in my pelvis Confused

lowra · 26/08/2010 09:04

Hi Ladies

Just found this thread, I'm pregnant with my first and very apprehensive about the whole thing!

My pregnancy story so far:
about 8 weeks gone, due date of 7th April and just feeling so overwhelmingly knackered. Also got a touch of the dreaded morning sickness which seems to come and go, at all times of the day and night. No sign of a bump yet but definitely getting fatter and boobs have grown too (were very tender but not so bad at the mo).

Enjoying reading all the stories on here. Don't know if it's just me but there seems to be a baby and pregnancy epidemic at the moment!

Sunshine28 · 26/08/2010 09:33

Hi Ecuse - I am in a similar situation to you. Have PCOS and thought it would be more difficult to conceive. Wasn't going to start trying properly till at least next year, but voila, here we both are in the April thread! As everyone always says, there is never an exactly right time to have a baby. Exciting stuff though! We are moving out of our 1 bed third floor flat (with no lift) tomorrow into a semi-D house so I guess the timing is ok afterall :)

Ps. I also didn't have a clue when my due date would be but went for an early scan and they told me it would be 1 April :)

cantmummyhaveabreak · 26/08/2010 12:39

Hello- thought i'd add myself.

I'm 5+1wks pg, pregnancy is a surrogate baby for a friend. Have 3DC's myself, DS 5.9yo, DD1 4.4yo & DD2 18m.

Have already gained 5cm on my waist, having bad nausea and super dooper tired!! I wake up tired!! Think that might be the 3DC's tho!! :)

Due date is 27th April 2011 according to MN calculator. Friend's (who will be the mother) birthday is 26th april!!

LadyGoneGaga · 26/08/2010 13:58

Hello can'tmummyhaveabreak. Think you're due same day as me. Or I might be day before. Who knows! Tis very selfless to have a baby for a friend. Good on you.

The nausea seems to have begun. Mouth keeps filling up with saliva and feel like going to vom unless eat dry crackers constantly. The thought of anything nutritious like fruit or veg not v appealing. Have a (male) friend coming for dinner tonight who doesn't know am pg. I'd really rather not but feel I have to. Suggestions for easy and non-nauseating yet mildly impressive dinner to cook, please?

AussieMum2Be · 26/08/2010 15:01

Hi Everybody,

Hope its ok to join this thread as Im due 22nd April 2011 aswell!! So excited, its my first and had been trying since Dec so really happy but a little nervous.

Im 32 and am the only one in my group of friends in a long term relationship who's on the baby mindframe so nobody to compare or ask questions with, so will be good to have some people in same situation.

Ive been getting dizzy spells and feeling really bloated, but no actual sickness so guess thats good, my tummy aches quite abit, is that normal ?

Nice to meet you all and lets enjoy the next 8 months together !

ecuse · 26/08/2010 15:20

Hi AussieMum2Be I have had a tummy ache too. A bit like mild period cramps. I was initially worried that meant I was going to miscarry, but I read somewhere that it's quite normal and it's your uterus having a stretch and metaphorically 'pushing the furniture to the side of the room' to make space for the growing fetus. Exciting!

AussieMum2Be · 26/08/2010 15:50

Hi ecuse,

Thanks for your reply, oh good, it didnt feel bad just achy and un-comfortable ! so thats re-assuring. Yes it is very exciting, I can seem to find enough things to read online ! Is there a good website thats more focused on the Dads for DP, he doesnt have any friends who are fathers (we are the only grown ups in our group!) and I would like him to have some sort of support group or place where we can ask questions to other Dad's to be !

Any ideas everyone ?

theteasonme · 26/08/2010 17:24

Hi ladies, just checking in Smile

Starting to have a few symptoms now - like instant hunger. I don't get 'a little bit hungry' anymore - I go straight from 'not hungry at all' to 'so hungry I feel sick' does anyone else have this?!

I also have rumblings of heartburn which crippled me last time and am starting to feel really tired by 4pm.

Still waiting for the proper nausea to kick in, I reckon by week 7 I'll be on the ginger snaps Grin

Petalouda · 26/08/2010 17:42

theteasonme you've hit the nail on the head there. Starving & sick or bloated. No middle ground!

Aussiemum DH is on dads.info "or something like that" he says. The What To Expect iPhone app has dad info too.

missindependa · 26/08/2010 17:48

Hi! I'm roughly 5/6 weeks pregnant and am having a very different pregnancy to my first. I have PCOS and so my last period was about 2 months ago, but I've had loads of tests and they've all resulted negative, until last Tues when I had a blood test and the results showed my Bhcg hormone was rising, and on repeat of the test I had the result last Friday that I am definitely pregnant! That day I did a test and had a positive result :).
I'm just so nervous cos I don't have any sickness, just a slight 'icky' feeling every now and again and I don't seem to fancy any foods, whereas normally I'm not very picky! I have really sore boobs though.

Ive been so worried cos I don't really feel pregnant. I wont have a scan until end Sept but my midwife and I think I'll be due around the end of April next year. My friend thinks this pregnancy is different cos it's with a different father...anyone else heard that? xx

ecuse · 26/08/2010 17:55

Yes, I'm not really feeling sick as such, but generally queasy and definitely not hungry at all. Until I'm ravenous. Then I eat, feel rough again. Joy.

Sore boobs are abating, though.

gormers · 26/08/2010 18:09

Defintely with you on the hunger front! I'm a walking white carb monster at the moment. I find it sorts out the nausea really quickly, but it does mean that I'm going to look 40 weeks pregnant by the end of the first trimester!!

Boobs are still so sore too - started off with 32G's, so you can imagine that them growing anymore isn't particular comfortable!! Am quite scared of what they may look like s few months down the line!!!

theteasonme · 26/08/2010 21:00

Ooh, you've made me feel better already Smile

lilianfox · 27/08/2010 01:03

Hi everyone and newbies. I'll be 7 weeks on sunday with dc2 and I haven't had any symptoms yet. I've had quite a few postive test results (occasionally keep checking!) just to make sure. My first preg I felt overwhelmingly sick all day etc and only thing that took it away was eating carbs as lots of you have been saying. This time no sick feeling although I can't remember when it kicked it. Anyone else had experience of not having symptoms, no sickness, no sore boobs etc and gone on to have successful pregnancy. I'm toying with the idea of having an early viability scan privately. Anyone else had one of these?

cantmummyhaveabreak · 27/08/2010 08:55

miss- I've heard pregnancies can be different with different fathers... i'm pregnant with a baby that's not my husbands (surrogacy) and so far it's going the same as i'm used to with my last 3, but maybe that's just me... i've heard plenty of evidence to back up your friends comment.

Well i was finally actually sick yesterday, and again this morning... so my nausea is now actual sickness :(

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 27/08/2010 10:50

Hi everyone, and welcome to all the newbies :)

I'm also feeling really really sick and am totally shattered. Haven't actually thrown up, just constant nausea. I can't really cook anything, the smell makes me feel so awful. DH is being a star on that front and is dealing with most of the kitchen stuff and also washing DS' nappies.
I am eating loads of white carbs - toast, plain cake, pasta, jacket potatoes. Really trying to keep off the crisps and biscuits but it's hard!

numptysmummy · 27/08/2010 10:53

Goodbye from me - mc weds. Hope everyone has a happy and healthy pg Smile

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 27/08/2010 10:57

Oh numptys I'm so sorry :( ((hugs))

LadyGoneGaga · 27/08/2010 11:32

Numptys so, so sorry. Hope you're ok. Take care of yourself and hopefully you'll catch another bus soon.

ecuse · 27/08/2010 13:38

Sorry, numptysmummy, that's awful :(

kitstwins · 27/08/2010 14:25

Really sorry to hear that numptysmummy.

Not much going on in my world. I still feel faintly hungover and my breasts are massive but compared to how I felt with the girls (constant whisky hangover feeling until 14 weeks) this is a breeze. I suppose it's less hormones. Actually, it's rather strange having a singleton pregnancy this time around. I only know how to be pregnant with twins and I actually rather miss the reassurance of it all. Never thought I'd say that! God, it MUST be the hormones speaking!!

Saw my consultant on Wednesday and I really like him. I'm booked in with him for delivery and antenatal care and actually feel a bit more confident about things. I got quite tearful when I talked through my birth went bright red with panic when I started talking about monitors and cannulas as it just took me back to the horror story that was the final month of pregnancy and the girls' birth. He also looked at my scar (it's tiny but I've got grim adhesions from my haematoma) and said that if I DO have to have a c section then he'll take out all the adhesions and give me a much better scar. So it feels like there's a silver lining if my VBAC plans don't work. It's helping with my head at least. He also gave me another scan so I got to see the baby at 8 weeks - heart banging away and with little limb buds. It's looking a bit more baby-like now.

Got my nuchal scan in about three weeks when I'm back from my hols by which time I'll be just over 12 weeks. It might feel real at that point.

Other than that, I don't look remotely pregnant. Stomach still flat. I had a tummy from the get-go last time due to the fertility drugs and bloating and exploded quite early due to the fact that there were two in there. I remember getting seats on the tube from 14 weeks but I can't see how I'm going to look this time. It's a second pregnancy but it's a singleton. All I know is that I'm not looking forward to the 'just look fat' stage where you don't quite have a bump but just look like you've let yourself go.

Am now in a G cup (was a D!).

Hope everyone else is doing well. Anyone else having their baby at C&W or are we all scattered to the four corners?

gormers · 27/08/2010 14:44

Really sorry to hear that numptysmummy; take care of yourself and I hope that you get all the support that you deserve.

Kitstwins, it sounds like you've got yourself a fantastic and supportive consultant there, must be brilliantly reassuring to know you've got someone like that looking after you.

Not in London, I'm down on the south coast. The antenatalcare here is very very slow, apparently I don't even get contacted by the midwives until week 10!!!

MrsWajs · 27/08/2010 15:16

Sorry to hear you mc'd numptysmummy

I got my first midwife appointment through the door yesterday, it's for 6th September by which time I'll be 9 weeks. Quite excited although I'm not really sure what to expect - hopefully a date for my scan!

Symptoms are still at a minimum, had some boob growth but not very much and they are still faintly achey but apart from that nothing else - half wish I did have more symptoms as I keep thinking maybe I have it all wrong and I'm not pregnant at all!
Pretty much off food and struggling to eat enough - yet my belly seems to be bloated ALL the time :(

Have a bridesmaid dress to fit into on the 10th October and it is looking pretty unlikley at this rate!!!!

Hope everyone else is keeping well. :)
