Dd3 Beatrice (Bea) born yesterday night at 10.15pm, she is divine but TINY (6lb 8oz Shock).

The birth was completely amazing, in the pool, at home with dh and my best friend in attendance as well as three of the most lovely midwives. Bea didn't cry at all, she slithered into the water, I lifted her up, she looked at me and nuzzled onto my chest and went back to sleep Smile.

Will post details later.

Feeling tired but very happy and relaxed with a tiny graze and AGONISING after pains. Bea is already feeding very well.

Oooh Enid, have also missed this but many congrats. Three girls will be lovely and she sounds like an adorable little thing.
Love her name too, Beatrice has always been a fave of mine. Well done on what sounds like a great birth Smile

chipmonkey · 30/04/2006 02:20

Enid, my ds3 was only 5 lb 3 oz at birth ( 8 weeks early) and seemed tiny because the others were both around 9lb. But he thrived in no time at all, did go a bit yellow at one stage which made the MWs cluck a bit but at his developmental check the paed. said to his underlings "You'd never know he was prem, would you?" Breastmilk is powerful stuff!

Enid · 30/04/2006 11:31

thats good to know chipmonkey

my milk has well and truly appeared and Bea is maddened by it so I imagine her tiny stage wont last long Grin

sorry LTH I have totally screwed up all my addresses and need to sort them all out when I am a bit more together - am posting a limited time only pic on mem profiles

Mine were small too, dd 5lb 9 and ds 6lb 5. ds grew out of his tiny baby clothes about a week after my mum bought them!

mears · 30/04/2006 12:33

Congratulations Enid. My littlest was 6lb 2oz at birth and when he came home he was 5lb 12oz - so tiny. He ended up being my fattest baby Smile

Lovely advert for homebirth.

Now.... can I say that I predicted on 7 April:
"Right.... can I bet this will be a labour of less than 4 hours ?"
