Hi all, we are STILL all suffering with this chuffing cold that doesn't seem to want to go away. It is driving me in-bloody-sane.

Anyway enough moaning, I hope we are all ok.

Has anyone heard from Dee? I was thinking about her and her lovely newborn the other day xxx

crumpette · 08/02/2010 12:43

Ilike, Dee was on the postnatal thread recently. I think she's having a bit of a hard time with little Tate and has had some medical scares but is under consultant care for him now and sounds like he should be alright, but may or may not need surgery at some point in the future. Dee if you're about sorry am divulging info! Don't know what the done thing is on MN ! Hope you are OK?

Ilike sorry you've still got a cold, DP has had a cold for the past 3 weeks ! I am most unimpressed as I really don't want him infecting the baby. It was a cold/flu that he had that caused L to go into liver failure in the beginning so I'm particularly on edge! Though as my hospital lady said, what could I do..shoot him? (yes I thought, yes)
Anyway he has just got some strong echinacea pills and is going to try those. Strangely I find the innocent kiwi juice smoothies that you can buy in a big carton in most supermarkets cure colds for me. Had a stinking cold back in Oct/Nov and drank a whole carton of the stuff and the next day I had pretty much recovered

Good morning!

I'm in hiding from all the Valentine's Day stuff at the moment. The 14th is, unfortunately, the anniversary of my late MC, and I can't get away from reminders of the date! Needless to say, we don't really 'do' the whole romance thing on the day.

I'm trying to be positive as it is DS3's 18th birthday on the 12th and I should really be in celebratory mode instead of dragging everyone down. The grey day outside is echoing my mood and I feel grumpy - definitely not in the mood for baking. I'm going to have a short 'wallow' and then try and walk the cobwebs away before the children come home.

Hello all.

I can understand Valentine's Day being like salt in a wound Dancingshoes. It can feel like a cruel jibe can't it?

I always find allowing myself time to have a wallow a good thing. It makes me express what I'm feeling, then get on with whatever needs to be done. If I try and ignore it it doesn't actually go away, it just sits on my shoulder waiting - iyswim.

I hope you feel better after your walk. How are you celebrating your ds 18th?

hazygirl · 09/02/2010 14:18

shabbapinkfrog · 09/02/2010 22:24

Is it the Gordon Brown thread Lottie - my computer is playing up and taking ages to load links. I have already commented a couple of times, and, yes, it has made my blood boil as well!

Good morning all x

I have got to go and have B12 injection today and then another on friday and another 3 next week I know it will make me feel better but I have had them before and they are bloody painful

I am officially a wuss .

I have looked at that thread as well and I just think it is a non story . People are so harsh . On the one hand you have got Sarah Brown advertised at the top of the page doing the big night in thing and then you have a load of harpies slagging her husband off for showing emotion . If I was her I would tell mumsnet to stick their Big Night In .

How is everybody doing ? We all seem a bit quiet ? x

peterpansmum · 10/02/2010 08:06

Morning everyone,

Hi TW yes I thought the same re us all seeming a bit quiet. I've been really busy and anxiety starting to build within me since we have started February.... one step closer to march. I've been putting plans in motion for a local walk in gregors memory to raise funds for the scottish cot death trust and it's just taken off.

Work is finally starting to get a bit easier, I'm now managing 4-5 hours a day. Had a lovely day yesterday with my HR rep and I think if it wasn't for her and another couple of people i could have chucked it by now.

Had a wee look at that thread Lottie but took a couple of steps back. I can totally understand why some of that would make you feel angry.

shabbapinkfrog · 10/02/2010 08:32

TW Im really needle phobic so can understand your fears.

Not sure why we are all quiet - I suppose it goes like that. Winter seems to be never ending and that always drags me down and makes me want to just hibernate. xx

Me too Shabs , we have got some blue sky here today which always makes me feel better .

Not long now till the stingy jab
I don't really mind needles or blood being taken but this goes straight into the muscle and stings like buggery .

Last day os being a stinky smoker today too

Wish me luck , I think I might need it (and so will my dh )

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 10/02/2010 13:15

good luck with the jab, can you get a local? But I guess that's just another jab? Or how about the magic cream they give kids?
