"Too Beautiful for Earth" For Sylvie-Rose and all our Angel Children

For my darling Sylvie-Rose, taken from us just seven weeks after you were born. Too beautiful for this earth but I so wish you could have stayed nonetheless.
And for all the Mums walking this tough path. Let us link arms along the way and not be defeated by the cruel blow life has dealt us.

tami oops! might not be a wise move at our age!!

MiaAlexandrasmummy · 31/03/2012 08:31

chip and tami really hope I haven't upset you with my pathetic attempts at humour last night. Blush it certainly wasn't my intention if so - sorry. I guess it is almost impossible to give a bereaved mother assurance about anxiety about her family. Having already been though the worst experience possible, we know these things can happen, even if the logical part of our brains say that the likelihood is infinitesimally small. Hence my clumsy words... xx

shabbapinkfrog · 31/03/2012 08:39

Morning xx

Mia - this thread used to be full of joking and laughing. You cant possibly have offended anyone with your posts - have just re-read and cant see any way you can have. This special thread is not totally all about our much loved children who are no longer physically here....it is about sharing views and. for those of us further down the crappy path, to be able to share our experiences and give hope for the future.

We have had 'virtual nights out' on here where we have all been screaming laughing, joking around and putting our favourite music on. Life without laughter and banter is not worth living, in my opinion!!

Tamisara · 31/03/2012 09:28

Miasmummy I echo what shabba said, I'm not sure what you said, that could possibly be offensive. What you said was funny :) I do know how you feel though, I've said things, then worried that it may be taken the wrong way. You are actually quite funny - nowt wrong with your humour xx

MyLittleMiracle · 31/03/2012 09:35

Oh chip I have all that worry to come dont i? It muste be difficult, but i went abroad to france for 4 days and came back safe, and sound, and a little tanned! I was 12 and was with the school. I am sure he is having a fantastic time.

I feel so lucky to have found others who have been through similar and with who i can share my feelings. Having a few tears this morning cos today i find out when i move and although excited a part of me feels like i am shutting the door on my old life, on my marriage, which is a good thing, but I am also scared that i dont want all my old life to go, i want my babies here with me.

I dont think that worrying about our children is exclusive to a bereaved parent. My best friend constantly worries about the safety of her two children and her daughter is 22 - I think that when you know the pain of loosing a child, especially an older child who has done the school trips etc etc, your imagination runs riot. My eldest DS went to Italy with the school for two weeks many years ago....my fears matched many of the parents....its just that my imagination was bigger and more fearful. Chip - I think its brilliant that your DS2 has gone to such a beautiful part of the world....it will be an amazing experience for him - but I totally understand your fears. xxx

shabbapinkfrog · 31/03/2012 10:28

Hiya love - hope you are OK xxxx

Hello all, thanks for the reassurance. Phew. Just suddenly panicked that my sensitivity radar had gone awry...

Tamisara · 31/03/2012 10:51

Miasmummy I think that we sometimes forget that we're still humans too, and at the end of the day we all enjoy a good laugh. Glad you're reassured xx

Sorry Chip that I haven't reassured you re; DS. Last week, if you recall, I was worried about DS going to Cornwall alone, stupid I know as he's 20! I used to worry about trips away too when he was young. His paternal grandad rationalised that he was at more risk, in a car, in our town. It's hard, but I bet he's having a wonderful time.

Kudos to you though chip, you are amazingly brave xx

I hope that I haven't upset anyone here, I should have posted in my thread, and will do that from now on, as the last thing I'd ever want to do, is upset you ladies, by posting my silly issues here xx

chipmonkey · 31/03/2012 11:23

Mias, I honestly don't think you are the sort of person who could upset anyone if you tried! I did LOL at the idea of the Italian ladies but ds2 is so shy with girls! Recently an opportunity came up for group counselling with three other bereaved teens but he wouldn't go as the others were all girls. He said "That could be awkward!" Not sure why, he goes to a mixed school and always has done so girls shouldn't seem like aliens. Maybe if he'd had a sister closer to his own age? Or one that didn't die.Sad

Repeat at length!

chip I have taken kids away .. and trust me if he was miserable , lonely homesick, not eating anything, has a leg hanging off , etc etcetc then you woud have heard from the poeple in charge. You just know if he had a mobile you would call him .. and you would run the risk of upsetting him.

They will keep the kids too busy having a great time to think about you at home .. the sound of your voice could make homesick . I know you see such horror stories on the news but you have to aks yourself how often does something terrible happen. You cant live your life in fear .

That all sounds realy flippant.. not meant to be just trying to reassure.. I do understand your worries.

I will give you something else to worry about ..there is no age limit for drinking on the continent.. better lock up your wine when he gets back Grin

frasersmummy · 31/03/2012 17:03

my nephew was in the finals of our local talent quest on thurs night

He is 14 and a lovel looking boy (not biased at all) he plays bass guitar and he got up on the stage.. jumped about and played dire straits. He looked every inch the popstar..

Didnt win but he said he loved every min and will do it all again next year

Right sat night and the ice hockey season is over... what will I do tonight..suggestions welcome

shabbapinkfrog · 31/03/2012 17:05

Grin @ FMammy.....Tom went on the PGL holidays when he was at primary school. Neither pupil or parent could have contact with each other and it was hard the first time, to let him go. He had a whale of a time....climbing up to about 30 feet and trapezing (sp?) across to the other side He came home stinking to high heaven, having never changed his socks for 5 days, having never washed or cleaned his teeth. He was suntanned and had a massive grin on his face. xxx

chipmonkey · 31/03/2012 17:19

There, that's another thing to worry about! He won't put sunblock on, will he?Grin

OP posts:
shabbapinkfrog · 31/03/2012 17:24

Pack it in Chip Grin the sun wont filter through the layers of muck on his body - caused by not having his Mum there reminding him to wash Grin HE WILL BE FINE!!! x

frasersmummy · 31/03/2012 18:44

he wont be allowed out without his sunblock, a bottle of water and a sun hat ...
its called h&s gone mad ...

I think chip its time for Wine.

CazBX · 31/03/2012 19:22

I'll join in with the Wine - although I'm shattered, so it may send me to sleep after the first glass!

shabbapinkfrog · 31/03/2012 19:29
chipmonkey · 31/03/2012 20:34

Right, Wine in one hand and a Chinese ordered! And knickers untwisted. I just had a look at the hotel website and it's very nice.

And yes, shabba, he will reek! Which also solves the Italian lady question. I'm sure they like their boys smelling fresh!
