toddler average shoe size..........

Had DD's feet measured today, was a bit shocked to find her feet are size 9 (she is 2 and a half). They seem to have grown one and a half sizes in about 5 months! And it was the Clarks machine, so i would imagine that you can't get an erroneous measurement on this?

Will anybody share their toddlers feet sizes with me, so i know whether this is average or I am going to be buying very large shoes in the future!

My dd1 is 3 since May and has just started wearing a 6 1/2. We always get comments in the shoe shop about her small feet though.

lou031205 · 06/08/2009 18:16

DD1 is 3.6 and a size 7
DD2 is 2 and a 4½

mufti · 06/08/2009 18:17

ds, 3.1, has just gone into 9 1/2

timmette · 06/08/2009 18:17

DS is 3 and size 9

starynight · 06/08/2009 18:18

my little boys 5 and hes only just gone into a 9. i always thought he had small feet for his age but who knows.

skybright · 06/08/2009 18:19

My little one is only 18 months and his first pair of shoes about six weeks! ago (i have now just felt the money dissapear from my purse)were a size 6.5 so i guess he will be the same as your little girl.

crokky · 06/08/2009 18:20

I have a 3.4 yo in size 11 (think this is massive!)

Also a 16 mo in size 4.5 (not sure how this compares to others)

EyeballsintheSky · 06/08/2009 18:22

19 month old in size 4 if that's any use to you.

pinkem · 06/08/2009 18:24

Ds is 2.7 yo and a size 5.5

DS is 2.5 and size 8.5G by Clarks

HeadFairy · 06/08/2009 18:26

ds was in his first shoes at 10 months as he was already walking well, and he went straight in to a size 5, I thought he had huge feet, esp as my friend's 16 month old ds is still only in a size 4. DS is now 23 months and he's in size 7, he does seem to have slowed down a bit, he was in size 6 or 6.5 for ages.

LovelyTinOfSpam · 06/08/2009 18:33

My DD was 2 a couple of weeks ago and is a size 8. I thought this was normal until I went to buy her some socks and the size for her shoe size said age 4-6!!!

So she has honking great feet. Big hands too. I guess she will be tall and strapping (which is fine) rather than have clown-style bits

my charge is 3.
his feet are size 11
his brother is 6 and his feet are 12.5

Tidey · 06/08/2009 19:11

Nearly 22mo in size 5

mankyscotslass · 06/08/2009 19:17

Don't trust the clarks machine. When my dd was 3 one measured her at a 10. The shoes were obviously miles too big, and I went to an independent retailer who remeasured her as an 8 1/2.
In saying that, my friends dd was in an 11 by the time she was 3, and my youngest DS is a 9 at age 3.

TabithaTwitchet · 06/08/2009 19:18

19 month old in size 2 - (thank goodness she is not walking properly yet as nowhere makes them small enough)

FattipuffsandThinnifers · 06/08/2009 19:20

2.3 mo ds is size 6.

Yes, mankyscot is right, Clarks come up bigger than other makes (eg Start-rite is at least 1/2 or 1 size smaller).

stonethecrows · 06/08/2009 19:25

Thanks for all your replies. From the sounds of it I probably can't say she is definitely going to have ridiculously large feet when she is older!! Might get her remeasured at another shop though....

DS is 2.6 and size 6. This is in a clarks shop. his friend same age is 5.5 and 3 month older friend 7.5.

sunshiney · 06/08/2009 19:37

DD is 2 on Monday, and size 7 (Clarks).

she is a tall girl like me, about half a head taller than your average 2 year old. but from reading this, it seems her feet are not that unusually big. i suppose she has taken after me as i'm one inch off six foot but my feet are a relatively small adult 7.

danthe4th · 06/08/2009 19:55

You can measure them yourself by drawing around them wearing socks and measuring with a ruler in cm's and go online for a coversion chart.

Chaosx3 · 06/08/2009 20:38

DD age 9 1/2 and DS1 age 6 both size 13. DD not impressed!!

DS2 2 and size 6

My friends baby is 20 months & size 9!!

hellymelly · 06/08/2009 20:40

DD is 4.8 and a size 9,dd 2 is 2.3 and a size 5. Both startrite though, clarks measure slightly differently.
