How early did your baby walk?

My daughter was crawling at 8 months and now at a week off 9 months she is looking like it won't be long before she is walking as she is cruising around the furniture and wanting to walk (although she hasn't got her balance yet) this is all a big shock to me as my son was 16 months old before he walked. Any other early walkers? not that she is walking just yet

My dd walked at 9 months

DS1 15 months

DS2 23 months

(neither have developmental probs, just bone idle!)

And DS2 was as clingy as hell until he walked

Ds was at that stage at 9 months (started crawling at 7 months) but didn't actually start walking unassisted until 13 months (to my great relief!)

Going back to the first page I would like to echo kerrymums post at Scary's post.

4.5 months ! Sorry find that hard to believe! Do you actually mean walking unaided at 4.5 months? Not physically possible sorry.

I believe Scary was being sarcastic about the 4.5 months.

DS was 13 months.

DD1 - about 4 years old

DD2 - 9 months (took her first steps at 8 months and at 9 months she nevr crawled again)

DD3 - 13 months. (took her first steps on the day of her first birthday. Started properly last week, ADORABLE)

My dd walked at 17 months old and talked early, she was a dream, my ds walked at 9 months and is just starting a few words at nealry 2 - he is a nightmare as into everything without thought of consequence.

DS (10.5mo) has just discovered the joys of assisted walking and has been motoring around at high speed clinging to my 2 fingers this evening! He thinks it's FAB! Don't know when he'll be able to do it by himself but I guess not long now... (still hasn't crawled - looking forward to the bruises )

They are all so different really. My DS didn't walk until he was 15mo, however he had 8 teeth before he was 6 months old! He could also talk very well at 18 months. My doctor's son didn't walk until he was 2yo

10 months - now currently a cheeky chappie type 19 yo with a part time job and a mum constantly kicking his waster arse

12 months - strange kid - i can't sy any more - just weird

13 months. bright, lovely wonderful, helful, did i say wonderful, a pleasure to be around.

it means nothing is the moral of this story

DC1 was crawling at 6 months but didn't walk until after 1st birthday - so crawling early didn't lead to particularly early walking here.

DC2 didn't move much at all until around 10 months, but then progressed fairly quickly through the 'stages' and walking soon after birthday also. Though was wobbly and crashing into things for months afterwards.

I am hoping that DC3 follows the example of not moving much like no 2 - it was easier that way!

ds1 was 11 mths when he walked but ds2 was 13 mths, he walked on my 30th birthday!!! best birthday surpise ever!!

Oh, and DS walked at 15 months.

dd2 - 18 months and still prefers to shuffle on backside rather than walk.......
