DS's triumphs for the day were:

a floaty kind of dance - "I am an anemone dancing to the music of the waves"

"When I die, don't bury me - I am too beautiful. Put me in a glass coffin."

not his butchest day ever

another one today that was high on the poncometer....ds (2.5) was in Costa with me and said 'can i have a babyccino Marco please' and then I asked what about something for me and he said 'a latte'.

TurkeyLurkey · 01/02/2008 18:10

DS (then aged 5) whilst playing with friends who were all pretending to have a tea party

"Just one moment, I'll go and fetch the pistachio nuts!"

pinkpeanut · 01/02/2008 19:54

This morning...... my 5 year old ds

"mummy, I can see your reflection, you look beautiful, have you done something with your hair......it's all golden"! (I have dark brown hair!)

EllbellTheBluestocking · 02/02/2008 21:01

Not sure if this is poncey enough to qualify, but it made me rofl today.

I've got Ella Fitzgerald on in the background while we're doing some baking...

Ella: I love Paris in the springtime, I love Paris in the fall... etc. etc. etc. I love Paris. Oh why, oh why do I love Paris?

DD1: Why does she love Paris?

Ella: ... because my love is near.

DD2 (dead serious): Because her love lives near Paris.

Also, dd1 said today 'I don't like the carrots X [new CM] give us. I don't think they are organic'.

NotQuiteCockney · 02/02/2008 21:34

DS2 and I were dancing in the kitchen today and he started doing capoeira.

He's 3.

whomovedmychocolate · 02/02/2008 22:04

I have a ninewest red leather handbag. It came with a matching change purse inside which DD (15 months) instantly adopted as hers and which she carries round the shops 'just like mummy' on her arm.

But this is not the worst bit. We eat out a lot and she started about two months ago, fossicking in my handbag for my &More card. At first she just played with it but now, when she's bored in restaurants and she's finished her meal, she waves my card imperiously at the waitress. Quite often they turn up with the bill too!

FrannyandZooey · 02/02/2008 22:24

oh I've been missing all these posts

ds not quite so poncetabulous this week but did manage to say "is this apple fair trade?" and "mummy, you'll love me even when I am an old man because my voice is so pleasant, isn't it?"

This morning's offering:

coming into my bed at 6.20 am
"Mummy feel me, I am all warm like a volcanic stone"

FandZ - how old is your dc - that's hilarious and just a little bizarre!

cutekids · 04/02/2008 11:29

My dds (9 and 7) were discussing Valentines cards this morning.
Conversation went:DD1(9)anyway how could I POSSIBLY fancy him,he's gay...!
DD2(7)How could he be gay FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, he's not a man yet!
didn't know whether to laugh or agree with dd2 in just as philosophical manner!

FrannyandZooey · 04/02/2008 12:08

LOL cute kids I like "for crying out loud"

SaveScrabulous he is coming up to 5. He is bizarre, very - but maybe they are all like this?

Not so much poncy as old-fogyish...

Ds1 (6) on hearing that a child that ds2 knows was at his parents wedding last weekend...

"They've left it a bit late to get married if they've already got a 4 year old haven't they..."

loolop · 05/02/2008 11:27

Out for a meal in a lovely Chinese restaurant
Cousin (8) comes rushing out from the toilets exclaiming:
'Did you know the chinese have toilets EXACTLY the same as ours?!!'

Niece (4) - 'Auntie Lucy is Jesus was born at Christmas and died at Easter he didn't live for very long did he?!'

Hilarious

loolop · 05/02/2008 21:01

Oh have I really killed this lovely funny thread!

bossybritches · 05/02/2008 21:33

lucharl · 05/02/2008 21:46

Staceym21AtLast · 05/02/2008 22:30

friend says 'not now ds maybe later'

her ds 'but mummy my bedroom is so beautiful!'

cue faces. hes 3!

snowleopard · 05/02/2008 22:40

Aaah my DS (2.7) was poncey just today. He's been picking up a lot of adverbs recently - "actually" is a fave, also "unfortunately" though he's not sure what it means. In the supermarket i was considering getting a new DVD to see if he has the attention span for a cinema-length film - eg Lion King or some such. But he spotted a DVD of 26 classic episodes of farking Thomas and grabbed it.

Me: Oh DS I wasn't going to get one like that darling, I was looking for a film instead.
DS: No Mummy, we are getting this one, apparently.

abigaillockhart · 05/02/2008 22:55

My good friend and I recently had a good gossip about my ex-boyfriend's engagement. (My friend is still in touch with him)

Cut to next time friend sees him to celebrate - her daughter (aged 4, had been present during our discussion) pipes up with "but the diamond is not really that teeny-tiny Mummy"

abigaillockhart · 06/02/2008 09:50

Now it's me who's killed the thread!!

silkcushion · 14/08/2008 22:54

bump

VeniVidiVickiQV · 14/08/2008 22:57

DS 3, tapped me on the arm the other day, grabbed my chin to turn it to the clock on the wall and said in a panic/hurried tone "Mummy, look at the time - we've got to go"

MIL and I were POSL

GivePeasAChance · 14/08/2008 23:01

I wish I had heard something poncey today so I could join in.

I have just had

" DS1 just punched me in the eye"

" Look at my willy"

" I can see your big fat bum mummy"

"Please can I have a Wii"

Maybe tomorrow I will get some moments of ponciness.

raggety · 14/08/2008 23:12

dd: My birthday is in March and yours is in peppery.

(February)

Umlellala · 14/08/2008 23:13

Dd (2.3): aagh, look there's a lion! [overactive imagination]

Me: Oh no, a lion? let's give it some food so it doesn't eat us... what shall we give it?

Dd: hmmm... houmous!

(FWIW she doesn't even eat houmous... just dips her pitta in and gives it to us )
