When to start toilet training my 4yr old at Night?

My 4yr old son has been dry at night for ages but his nappies are still wet in the morning. The HV suggested leaving it 6 months but DS wants to stop wearing nappies now and asks most nights. Should i go with his wishes if he is so keen and risk wet sheets (no tumble dryer - help), or stick to HV suggestion and wait?

Could you wake him up in the night so that he goes for a wee on the potty and reduce the risk of wet covers in the morning?

why did she suggest waiting 6 months?

I'd try now and lift him before you go to bed. If he's keen, why not try? You'll know in a few days time!

I dont get it? Dry at night, but nappies wet in the morning ?

Can only suggest the following.

No drinks at bedtime.
My brother takes his two in the night, around midnight to the toilet, they seem to stay asleep.
Buy the plastic sheet bed protector for the mattress and buy plenty of spare sheets
As soon as DS wakes up, take them to the toilet/potty. That is AS SOON AS they wake up.

i got fed up waiting for dry nappies in the morning with my 2, i tried and was surprised that it worked
i think my 2 were doing the wee in the nappy as soon as they woke up, were being lazy, doing the wee then getting out of bed.
when they knew they had no nappy on they then had to come and tell me they were needing
