When to start toilet training my 4yr old at Night?

My 4yr old son has been dry at night for ages but his nappies are still wet in the morning. The HV suggested leaving it 6 months but DS wants to stop wearing nappies now and asks most nights. Should i go with his wishes if he is so keen and risk wet sheets (no tumble dryer - help), or stick to HV suggestion and wait?

In fact last night ds1 went nappy free for the first time. He woke up in the night and called for me. He then did an almighty wee on his potty and then went back to sleep and was dry when he woke up.

my very nearly 3yo twinnies went nappy free last night, one accident each at 5am, changed them and back to bed til 7am - all in all a success i feel!

Go for it - we have water proof mattresses, so i just whipped sheet off, wiped mattress, redressed and they climbed back into bed.

jodie, I'm not sure nappies will ever be dry in the morning if they continue to have drinks at bedtime....

I don't drink close to bedtime else i have to get up in the night, even if i wee before bed - i guess same goes for a little un.
