... what did you answer?

Iguessyourestuckwithme · 26/02/2016 21:46

My 2.3 year old girl is fascinated by boys having Willies and girls not having willows and will go through all the people she knows saying whether they have a willy or not and also to people in the street

Whatdoesthismean78 · 26/02/2016 22:26

I didn't say anything but my husband quickly said "like a doggy"... She hasn't ever seen male private bits.

Can you give a bit more info? It seems like this is bothering you in a specific way but I'm not exactly sure which way, kids say a marvellous selection of random things!

dementedpixie · 26/02/2016 22:31

Not even your dh's?

slebmum1 · 26/02/2016 22:32

God how has she got to two without ever seeing 'his tail'?

I'm not one of the vulva brigade but willow?!

dementedpixie · 26/02/2016 22:32

Please don't keep calling it a tail, that's a terrible word for it

dementedpixie · 26/02/2016 22:33

I think willow was a typo

Marzipants · 26/02/2016 22:35

Grin at vulva brigade, I bet they have a great logo.

AyeAmarok · 26/02/2016 22:38

How on earth has she got to 2 and never seen her dad's penis? Does he not look after her very often?

MazzleDazzle · 26/02/2016 22:41

My DD1 said this once too! And DD2 called it 'the long thing'.

By the way, I'm in the vulva brigade! Don't know why I bothered as neither of my DD use the correct words. Should have just gone with flower and tinkle!

Could she possibly have seen male private parts on another child? Or baby? Or seen her dad standing to pee?

Whatdoesthismean78 · 26/02/2016 22:42

She doesn't have any siblings and she's never seen my husband naked. He always has shower before / after she goes to bed. So, that's why it's worrying me as I don't know how she would know that. I am wondering if this would be a normal thing to say given the above. I'm hoping I don't sound crazy but these things do worry me given my own personal experiences when I was younger. I really don't want to get carried away but it is something maybe I am more aware of now. She's also recently started playing doctors which could be something she's learnt at nursery, she's only been going to nursery a few weeks though.

She hasn't ever been in the vicinity when he's had a wee? Like if he needed one whilst watching her in the bath?
She could have as easily been talking about an actual tail. All sorts makes sense to a 2 yr old.

I think my first thought here is that she was using her imagination and saying he does have a tail like an animal. I can imagine a 2 year old doing something like that with their imagination

Whatdoesthismean78 · 26/02/2016 22:49

She definitely hasn't seen anyone have a pee and my husband wouldn't let her in the loo when he's in there.

BertrandRussell · 26/02/2016 22:50

Did you ask her what she meant?

Whatdoesthismean78 · 26/02/2016 22:50

Well apart from me that is.

shouldwestayorshouldwego · 26/02/2016 22:50

Dd2 used to talk about dh's tail - it was his belt which he would undo when he came in from work and it would dangle down. Could be completely innocent.

ColdTeaAgain · 26/02/2016 22:58

Why is your husband so afraid of her seeing him naked?

00100001 · 26/02/2016 23:02

hy is it OK to see you wee/naked but not dh? Confused

dementedpixie · 26/02/2016 23:03

You know it's no big deal for children to see their parents naked?

LeaLeander · 26/02/2016 23:08

I know of many people who grew up never once seeing parents naked or using the toilet. Not every family lets it all hang out.

member · 26/02/2016 23:17

Exactly LeaLander. I have Dc of nearly 15 and 11 who I don,t think have seen dh naked although they,ve probably seen him from behind standing to wee. Our prev house had the loo separate from the bathroom, this one has an ensuite & we just don't wander around in the buff!
